Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
I wince at the silence. Knowing they were kissing. I felt my heart drop, but still swore I would help her if she needed it. I heard his next words and shook me head. He was useless, pathetic, gross. I take another bite of the cresant and wait to hear his engine. "Sir?" I hear the woman's voice once more. Looking up, I noticed she was at my table, easing herself into the seat. "Let me give you a little advice. Stay out of it. They are married and happy, you don't want to ruin that do you? If you love her, you will let them be" Her words were honest, but I knew I couldn't obey them. I smile small and nod "Thanks, but I can't do that. They aren't right" I say and shrug lightly.

Jordan got into the corvette and sped off.
Finally, Molly lowered her defensive walls that held her false strength aganist Jordan, and cupped her face in her hands, letting the tears flow freely from her cheeks. She pulled her knees closer to her and wrapped her arms around them, burrying her face in her knees. She shook gently from the tears, and lifted her head slightly to wipe the trickle of crimson blood off of her lip, chucking her drink from starbucks at the wall opposite from her, where her car had just been, and burried her face again.

Her crying made me stand. "Sorry" I say to the woman and walk briskly out of the starbucks. Rounding the corner to find a mess of Molly against the brick wall. I kneel beside her and touch her shoulder. "Molly? He isn't worth your tears, please stop" I say, my voice soft and littered with concern. Although I was sort of confused on what I should do. I had never dealt with someone I loved in this way crying. But I know now how much it breaks your heart.

Molly heard somebody's footsteps falling, and she turned to see Jake. She immediately burried her face again, not wanting him to see her with mascara and eyeliner dripping down her face. She heard his voice, which seemed softer and kinder than it usually was. Molly took in a shaky breath, feeling his hand on her shoulder, and looked up a bit, wiping her mouth to get rid of any remaining blood, hoping he hadn't noticed her lip was bleeding in the first place. "I'm fine," she lied, pushing him gently away. "I'm fine." She sniffed, taking in a sharp breath, biting her lip to hold back even more tears.

I stand up and step away when she pushes me slightly. Every moment she was like this hurting even more. I wish I could do something to help, but knew I probably couldn't. I only then realized that that was the first we'd touched since that night. I look at the ground to my left, thinking back to my hostility to her. I was no better than Jordan. I run my hand through my hair and look over at her, a frown littering my handsome features.

Suddenly Molly couldn't take it anymore. She pulled Jake closer to her and burried her face in the fabric of his shirt over his chest, wrapping her arms around him. "Why does he do this to me, Jake?" Molly managed to slur through a fresh wave of tears, pulling Jake closer to her. She couldn't help but feel her trembling cease when she felt his broad, strong chest against her cheek. She didn't pull back, but continued to cry into his shirt, hoping he wouldn't mind if she got some make-up on his shirt. "Why does he do it?" She questioned again, snuggling closer to him.

In a quick motion, she was wrapped in my arms. Her sweet scent reaching my nose. I rested my arms around her waist and sighed. "I don't know, I will never understand men like them" I say and pull her away slightly so I could face her. "But I know he isn't worth your time" I say and gently brush her hair from her cheek. Her touch almost heavenly. I then wipe a tear from her now cold cheek.

Molly knew his answer wasn't the one she was looking for. She wanted him to tell her that if he loved her, he would never use her the way Jordan did, but she knew that was impossible. Molly knew he probably didn't feel the same way, and she felt him pull back so he could see her face clearly, although it probably wasn't very pleasant with mascara and eyeliner running down the sides of her cheeks. "Maybe you're right..." Molly whispered, feeling him wipe a tear from her cheek, and she looked up at him, having an overwhelming feeling to kiss him, but she restrained. What if her lip was still bleeding? It wouldn't be the smartest idea.

I pull her into another hug. "Please don't let him do this to you anymore. Even if it means finding another guy and loving him with all of your heart, please don't stay with him." My words were barely a whisper.

Molly sighed happily when she felt him wrap her in another hug. Molly's eyes drifted to the ring on his finger. "If I try and stop the marriage now, he'll only hurt me more. What am I supposed to do?" Molly asked, staring at him. She chose to ingore the words of her loving another man with all her heart. What had made her so attracted to him in the first place? Her attraction to Jake was still there, obviously, and it disgruntled her. She snuggled closer to him again, resting her head on his chest, waiting for a reply to her question.

"As long as I am alive, he won't get away with hurting you" I say. Wishing this would never end, but knowing it would have to. I rub her back lightly in between her shoulder blades in a circular motion. Resting my eyes and listening to her breathing. Feeling it against my chest. "Trust me, and call me if you ever need me"

Molly felt happy resting against him, closing her eyes. She was content just to rest with him. She lifted her head and looked into his eyes. "I should return home."
"Hell yes, you should." Jordan's voice rang throughout the corridor, Molly jumped to her feet, staring at Jordan. "Yes, I have been here the whole time. You think I'd leave you here unattended when that man was still in the starbucks? You are cheating on me, Molly! Why?"
Molly stepped closer to Jordan, only to feel him grab her wrist roughly, tugging ther ring off of her finger and throwing it into the ground.
"You know, Molly. I realize I'm not the ideal man, and I realize that I may not always be gentle, but that doesn't mean I don't love you!" He shoved her backwards, and Molly tripped over Jake, falling to the ground. "Take your car and don't ever talk to me again." Jordan said, throwing the keys at her.
Molly stared at him, open-mouthed, and broke down into tears again, propping herself up against the wall again.
With that, Jordan left.

His voice sent anger and envy through my body. Next thing I knew, Molly was on the ground. I pick her up tenderly, then turn to the man. My eyes flashing to amber before I hid them quickly. "You have no right to treat her like that" I growl and step towards him, grabbing his shirt and throwing him to the ground with supernatural ease. "She loves you, can you not see that? I am a friend. Friend. Have you never had one? I can see why you wouldn't" I say. Green eyes boring into his. I wished so much to kill this prick, but I knew that would only hurt Molly more. "Apologize to her, it's the least you can do. She never cheated on you. For all I know, you are probably cheating on her" I say.

Jordan grimaced and got up, dusting himself off. "No. No. You're just lying to cover up for her. It's over. We're over. Have fun with the slut." Jordan said, giving one hateful glance at Molly before walking briskly away.
Molly watched Jordan leave, mouth open, and stared at the place where he'd just left. She was about to say something, but only a squeak came out of her mouth. She trembled slightly and picked up the keys, her shaking growing worse. "Thank you, Jake. But you can't help now." She planted a gentle kiss on his cheek, then rounded the corner herself, not even giving Jake one backward glance.

I turn when I hear Molly's words, when she kissed him on the cheek. The feeling so amazing. But then she left. I close my eyes and shake my head. A friend. All I ever would be. I put my face in my hands and grumble. Why was I geting myself into yet another mess. I clench my jaw and walk into the starbucks. Allowing my eyes to turn their amber color because of the intense anger I was feeling at the moment. I grab the cresant and coffee. Throwing it away on the way out and walk down the sidwalk. Hearing the hum of her engine.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly reluctantly got in the car, only to see a note on the dashboard that was written - obviously - in Jordan's handwriting. It read, I know the episode we just had might've scared you, but I'm not giving up on you, love. There was a drop of crimson in the corner which looked unmistakably like blood. Molly froze in the seat, only to hear car horns and be rear-ended by another car, causing a loud crash. The airbags deployed, but Molly wasn't hurt, and neither was the other driver, and when the other driver - male - came around and began yelling at her, she drowned him out, fear creeping into her heart as her eyes focussed on the stain of blood in the corner of the note. She needed to get back to Jake. Surely he could help her? But when she tried to move, fear kept her glued in place.

I continue to walk down the sidewalk, every step bringing me farther from Molly and deeper into a sort of confused/depressed state. I couldn't hear the crash, so I thought nothing of it. Rounding a corner, I step into a bar and order a beer. Taking a swig of the cool drink and closing my eyes. I think I had drank only twice in my life before this. But I thought nothing of it as I ordered another. Handing the bartender his money and tip.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Suddenly Molly snapped back to reality as the other driver hit her roughly on the shoulder. "Oh, God, I'm so sorry!" Molly hurried herself to squeeze out of the car, past the airbag, and began talking to the man about the accident.
It didn't take very long for the tow-trucks to get here and tow both of their cars off, and Molly sighed. Looked like she was walking home, anyways. Molly grimaced and pulled out her phone, holding it up high so she had a few bars, then began to text Jake:
I need your help. Plz stop by my house tonight.
She sent the message and began briskly walking home, faintly aware of somebody watching her.

I was a fourth of the way through my second beer when my pocket vibrated. I pulled it out, already knowing who it was. The words almost scared me. With furrowed brows, I text her back.
Is everything ok? I will be there, what is your address?
The bartender began wiping down the smooth, stained wood to my left. "Women?" He asked, looking up from his work only momentarily. I shake my head "You have no idea" I say and take a long swig of beer. Only after that drink did I know I shouldn't be drunk when I arrived. I push te beer towards the bartender. "Thanks" My voice was almost inaudible as I step off the stool and towards the door.

Molly was fumbling with the keys to her door when her phone made a small chiming noise, and she pulled it out of her pocket, reading over the text. She was glad Jake had responded so quickly. She pulled the blood-stained note out of her pocket and glanced over the letters and crimson splotch in the corner again before quickly texting back,
I have to show you when you get here. 7581 Oakwood Court.
Molly shoved the keys into the door and pushed it open, only to see another note on her polished counter with a white rose stained with crimson. Another note came along with it, but this time she didn't read it, and hurried off into her bedroom, locking the front door and seating herself on the bed's covers, trembling slightly, hoping Jake would arrive soon.

I text back
Alright, on my way
I take a left turn out of the bar and read the signs as I go. Reaching oakwood court, I walk down it slowly, checking the addresses. I almost missed the small, family looking house. I read the number and knock loudly on the door so she could hear. Glancing around as I caught strange looks from people passing by. They must know that she is married to Jordan, and know what he looks like. I look back at the door. Oak with brass compliments and a stained window in the top center.

Molly read the text reply, but didn't bother to answer it. She had just reclined into the cushions when she heard a knocking on the door, and jumped out of bed. She looked out the window of her room to make sure it wasn't Jordan, before rushing down the stairs and opening the door. She looked around for a moment, noticing the neighbors giving him stares, and quickly ushered him into the house, not paying him much attention until after she'd locked the door behind them. Then, Molly rummaged around in her pocket and grabbed the blood-stained note from Jordan and handed it to him. "I'm scared he's going to try something.." she bit her lip, then nodded to the second note and blood-stained rose.

I step inside and stand almost awkwardly in the home as she locked the door behind me. She then handed me a wrinkled note with a crimson corner. Reading it and then glancing at the rose. "Something... as in?" I question, honestly dumbfounded. How was I to know, I lived almost my entire life in seclusion.

Molly was rather angry that he didn't understand, but she didn't let it show. Instead she seated herself on the bottom of the staircase and rested her chin in her hands, staring out the window out one corner of her eye. "I don't know, Jake. That's what scares me. He could do anything." Molly shivered slightly at the thought, then got up to go read the second note, and as her eyes brushed over the paper, she gasped quietly, then turned and nervously glanced at Jake before ripping the paper to shreds so he couldn't see what had been written. With that, she shoved them into the trash. "It was a bad idea to ask you to come here," she said quickly, "You need to go."

I furrowed my brows and shake my head "What do you mean?" I ask, but grabbed the bolt and unlocked it, stepping outside by walking backwards. "You promise you'll be ok?" I ask. I could tell she was very upset, but I couldn't help her if she didn't want me too. I let my green eyes move to the street and saw that her car wasn't there. I didn't ask though, and instead returned my gaze to hers.
