Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Jazz music danced with my keen hearing, relaxing the tenseness ripping through my body. At starbucks, I could order a coffee, breakfast, and use my laptop. The only place with wifi that I could use. Being how I had no house but the swamps. My browser was open to my email, keeping up with dangerous vampires and hunters. Or of any town activities that involved the night. Thankfully, they weren't for a few months. Rarely did they have such festivals in the dead of winter. My thoughts brought me to glance through the large windows. A blanket of pure white snow covering the streets and sidewalks. Beautiful, regal looking street lamps of olden design stood erect alongside the small street and little, family owned shops. I loved this town, perfect for the ancient ways of werewolves and the seclusion perfect for hunting. In this town I was known, well, as a wolf anyway. They offered their best livestock in return for peace. However, on the nights of famine I was given no pig or sheep. Those were the times of winter, and the times of murder for the town.
A soft voice played on the air, and the scent of a grande americano flooded my heightened sense of smell. Then her smell, flesh and daisies. My electric green eyes met her soft brown ones and I nod a thank you. Her dirty blond hair fanning around her dark green apron straps as she turned to leave. No 'your welcome' or nod answered my thanks. I had gotten used to the strange ways of humans however, and didn't take offence. I click the browser closed and open a new one. Looking up images of werewolves on google. Seems their recent discoveries have made more accurate images to spur about. One looked almost like me, but it was simply a digital drawing of course. I pull a piece of my ham and cheese cresant and lay it on my tongue. A buttery taste I grew to love spreading and coating around my mouth. I lick the butter from my lips and fingers and take a sip of my completely black, sugarless coffee. The warmth trickling down to my stomach with the drink. I pop my neck and close the browser. This time opening up a news video and watching it with a lack of interest.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly sighed as she wrapped her arms around herself, hugging herself closely as she entered the Starbucks. She sighed and rubbed her arms, trying desperately to warm herself up. She'd just moved here from Texas, and the chilly weather was not something she was used to, and she wasn't dressed very warmly, either. Molly grimaced and hurried herself up to the counter and smiled at the woman behind it, who had just finished serving another man, who had hastily returned to his laptop. What was with people and the internet these days? There was still an outside world to enjoy. Sighing, Molly ordered a latte with extra cream and waited for her drink to be readied. Molly sighed and looked outside, seeing small white snowflakes begin to fall.
She nodded and said, "Thanks," to the lady, who in return gave a small smile, which could easily have been taken as a smirk. Molly's own smile faded as she took a seat by the window, blowing on it and drawing a smiley face in the fog that condensed on the window. Molly chuckled slightly and turned to the man she'd seen earlier, who was now closing his laptop, but she quickly averted her eyes, not wanting to draw his attention. Molly flipped out her iphone and began to text, her thumbs numb from being outside.

I felt the aura of someone behind me, and secretly glance back. Her scent matching her appearance. Long way from home. With another bite of the cresant, I rest my head on the wall. Closing my eyes and using my sense of smell and hearing to navigate around the cafe. The woman behind me struggling to text with gloveless hands, a lady whispering about Justin Beiber. Ugh, so annoying. I refocus, and catch the scent of ground coffee beans. Someone had recently ordered a tall americano with room. They would most likely add sugar as well as cream to the bitter tasting drink. Finally, the dirty blond worker who had delivered my coffee. She was texting-of course- and not paying any attention to anyone or anything around her. A smirk pulls at my lips when I hear the clutter of a machine turning off. Next thing you know, the woman yelled in pain and the hot, freshly made coffee was wasted on the teenager. She deserved that completely.

Molly sighed and felt somebody watching her, she turned to see the man resting his head against the wall, and he seemed to be daydreaming. Was that really what he was doing? Molly couldn't imagine a guy daydreaming. She put her cell down and took the lid off of her coffee, sighing and watching the steam rise from it. She took a sip and clenched her eyes, seeing as it was still too hot, and sighed. Molly picked up her phone again and was about to start texting when the girl behind the counter screamed, and Molly jumped, dropping her cell into her latte. "Shit," she murmured, and hastily picked her phone out of her coffee and shook it off, getting up and rushing over to the counter and getting a handful of napkins before rushing back over to her iphone and drying it quickly, sending one quick text message to make sure it worked, and all it did was fizz and pop, and Molly slumped back into her chair, groaning slightly. She tossed her phone to the side and took her latte in her hands and sighed, rather bummed. That phone was 2-weeks new, and now it was basically ruined.

The fiasco caused the woman behind me to drop her phone into her coffee. A curse word escaping her pretty little mouth. I open my eyes and look over to see her rushing to get napkins. The next thing I knew, her phone was fizzing and popping. "Stick it in dry rice and it'll work" I murmur quietly to her before sighing and sitting up. I take a drink of my coffee, and eat the last part of my cresant. A fresh wave of big, fluffy snow flakes sparkling in the street lamps. They were on in mid-day because of the thick cloud cover. A sheet of grey. It would hide the full moon, but that was alright. I could feel it coming. The increase of power and energy I recieved even during the day was like a buzzing high. Making me eager for the night's feast. The men and women of the town would definitely lock their houses, keep their children inside. They were quite oblivious to my abilities however. I was just as smart as them, but more powerful. I didn't break into the houses on a typical night, but the full moon put them into paranoia. Leaving the streets completely empty and forcing me to invade the locked houses for my meal.

Molly was surprised to hear the man talk, and she barely caught his words when she turned her head to look at him. She flashed him a weak smile, "Um... thanks." Molly bit her bottom lip, playing with her lip-ring a moment before turning around to see the snow as falling harder outside. She may be trapped in here all day if she didn't get home soon, she realized as she saw snow piling on the sidewalks. Molly grimaced and put the lid back on her latte, wondering what made the man so bizarre all the while, and picked up her phone. Molly stopped at the door and glanced at him one last time before opening the door and heading into the oncoming snowstorm that whipped her black hair out from behind her, and made it stand out vividly in the white landscape. Molly stuffed her phone in one pocket and grasped her latte tightly in the other hand, and as she passed by the window, stared at him. She could feel the uneasiness people had when around him, and she couldn't help but feel the curiosity well inside of her, and she almost ran into a lamp post.
Molly rolled her eyes and stepped briskly out of the way and made her path down the street, to her new, one-floor house.

My electric green gaze met hers as she walked down the sidewalk. She felt uneasy, but it wasn't typical. Most simply said they thought I was different, but they said that about everyone. This woman wasn't from around here, but she still suspected something. A small grin plagued my regal face as she averted her path from the post. I grab my coffee and take the final drink of it. It was now lukewarm from resting in the cool cafe too long. My eyes left her as she faded into the coming blizzard. Yes, the hunt would be very interesting. Another grin, much wilder and different than the last, pulled at my lips as I grabbed my laptop. Tucking it in my leather coat that reached my knees. A nicely pressed dress shirt tucked into dark jeans and accented by my dark skin. I throw my coffee out and open the glass door with ease. As if the door was an automatic one, swinging open at my motion. I step into the storm. Icey wind ripping the bottom of my coat rapidly to my left. I didn't flinch at the sudden change in tempurate however, I actually seemed to relax. A few flakes resting on my shoulders and in my extremely dark brown hair. With one last cocky glance towards where the woman had left, I remember her scent and walk into the grey veil of snow.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly managed to trip twice on the way home, and by the time she'd gotten there, she was soaking wet from melted snow and freezing cold. Shivering, her lips tainted a faint blue, Molly fumbled for her keys and managed to get them into the lock before rushing into her house and locking the door behind her. She took her phone out of her pocket and fixed it up the way the man had told her to, leaving it on the counter, and glancing at it one last time before going into the hallway to hang up her wet jacket. Molly yawned a bit and poured her latte into a mug before putting plastic wrap over to the top to keep it warm while she went to go take a shower to warm up. She trotted down the hall and went into the bathroom, turning on the water and going into her room to find her silk pajamas. While she waited for the water to heat up (which took an awful lot of time in her new house -- something she wasn't accustomed to), Molly plopped down on her bed and turned on the TV, which flickered on in black and white, then switched to color. Cocking her eyebrow, she watched the fuzzy screen for about ten minutes before turning it off and going back to her shower, where she took the hairpin out of her hair and discarded her clothes before stepping into the now-steaming shower.

On the way to the woods, I hid my computer in the cushion of someone's patio furniture. Something I often did with this person because they never sat outside. My eyes trailed to the sidewalk, of which I soon returned. Soon it would turn to a muddy trail, and then to nothing but dead leaves. Covered by the canopy of trees above my head. The moon was getting closer, but I still had to think of who to hunt. The woman would make a nice meal, and because she was new, few would notice. However, it would end up on the news. Probably frightening any new movers to this town. That would be worse than an old man living a hermit life. With that, I decided I would hunt and kill the widowed man on sixth street.

It didn't take long for Molly to finish her shower. She dried off, put her hair in a messy bun, and slipped on her silk pajamas. Molly sighed made her way back into the kitchen, grabbing her mug with the still warm latte and pulling off the plastic-wrap topping. She took a sip, deciding it wasn't warm enough and put it into microwave and picked up her phone out of the bowl and stared at it, hoping that the man's advice would work, and she turned it on. She sent another text message, and it fizzed for a moment, then flashed on the screen: "Text Sent." Molly smiled and nearly clapped her hands and walked over to her window, looking at the snowstorm pick up momentum, and she thought she saw a familiar figure from the cafe, and cocked an eyebrow. Did he live around here? Something gave her the feeling that he didn't, and she closed the blinds and hurriedly made her way to her bedroom, getting under the warm covers and turning on the TV, which went static-y for about three minutes before the TV show finally came on, and she settled herself into the covers, wrapping them tightly around her, and trying to get her thoughts off the man from the Starbucks.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Something washed over me in my thoughts. They had become lazy about offering livestock. Giving me the sick or injured. They needed to realize that I would not put up with it. I should terrorize the whole town like I had done in the first place. Breaking into almost every house and frightening their children. A small grin pulled at my lips, revealing handsome, perfect white teeth. Suddenly, I hear a loud pop, and look down at my wrist. Seeing it had begun the transformation. A very painful happening, made even worse by the powerful moon. On blood moons, I often became sick from such violent transformations. I throw my head back as I feel my spine pop. An eerie, supernatural howl erupting from my throat out of pain. Rounding the trees and ricocheting off walls and buildings. My eyes turn to a glowing amber color, increasing my vision in the darkness.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly sighed as she flipped through channels, trying desperately to find something good on TV, although their rarely ever was. Rolling her eyes, Molly turned off the TV and picked up her mug of latte, taking a sip and placing it back down on the table beside her bed, only to hear a blood-curdling howl. Molly tilted her head, thinking about how eerily close the howl was to a wolf. They weren't near the forest, were they? The people around here did have a lot of livestock, and that'd be a buffet for one wolf, but surely they kept them more protected than that? Getting out of bed, Molly warily made her way to the window and looked out, but the snow was obscuring her vision. Shivering slightly, Molly went to her door and bolted the extra lock, then made her way to a reddish orange leather chair and sunk down into it, on edge, hoping the wolf wasn't anywhere near her house. She hated anything that lived in the woods that ate meat or was venemous, like snakes.

I shake my now werewolf body. Eyes flicking towards the lights of the town. A snarl vibrates my throat before I leap into a fast lope. Bounding over rocks and kicking snow into the air. In a quick motion, I slide to a stop and observe the deserted streets. Breathing labored and clouding in front of my nose in a vapor cloud. I flick my thin ears back and snarl even louder. Knowing it would awake and notify the people of my being here. Suddenly, a light turns off and I hear the click of a lock. Ignorant humans, I could easily break in. Lock or not. With a long jump, I was at the wooden door. My claws ripping across the dark stained walnut wood and sweaking across it's window. An ear piercing scream shattered from the inside, and I throw my fist into the glass. Shattering it and allowing me to reach in and unlock the door.

Molly looked around, and wondered what was going on outside. She heard the shattering of glass and a scream. Molly's heart pounded at a pace she could barely even imagine was possible. Molly was immediately on her feet, staring out the window. She had heard two snarls from outside, and it obviously wasn't some ordinary wolf. What was going on? Molly had no idea, but it was scaring the shit out of her. Molly backed up and rushed into her room, nearly tripping on her silk pajamas, and closed the door silently behind herself, hoping whatever it was couldn't hear her close the door. Molly locked the door and huddled under the covers, quickly switching off the light and hoping that the whatever it was would think she wasn't home. She was starting to wish she hadn't come here. Whatever it was, it wasn't friendly. And it wanted to kill.

I open the door and grab the woman's shirt in my paw/hands. Throwing her against the wall and biting into her arm. She cried out in pain and grabbed my ear, attempting to shoo me off. With that, a loud crack of fire powder went off behind me and I felt the sting of buck shot in my back. With a growl of fury, I turn around and bite into the man's neck. Blood pouring into my mouth and on the ground. My eyes dialate at the taste, and I thrash my neck around. A wail of the woman told me they were lovers. However in my wolf form, I never felt anything but lust and strength. The man choked over his own blood, and I break his spinal cord. Killing him instantly. The woman had run to the kitchen and grabbed a cooking knife. She thrust it into my shoulder and I yelp quietly. She backed away, leaving the item in my back. I pull it out and throw it at her, it sliced through her chest with ease and she collapses to the floor.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly curled into a tighter ball as she heard the screams of a woman, and the shouts of a man. Maybe the couple was married, or fiances? The thought of either of them being attacked was too much for Molly to bear. She'd already lost her mother and father, and death had its own personal grip on her now, and it shook her to the bone whenever somebody died a violent death. Molly burrieed her head under the pillow and shook slightly, hoping, and praying, that nothing that was outside would get to her. She heard a cry that sounded like it came from the beast, and she smirked, hoping it had gotten hurt -- badly. Whatever it was, it was official that it was now attacking the two. Molly shivered when she heard the silence of the next minute. They must be dead. Molly whimpered slightly and got up, hurrying to her kitchen and grabbing a thick butcher's knife, then clutched it tightly, her knuckles turning white, and hurried back to her room, closing the door, forgetting to lock it, and diving into the bed, holding the knife close to her chest, still gripping it tightly.

The clank of metal rung in my acute ears. Their neighbors were obviously home. I lick the crimson blood from my chops and bound out of the house, leaving the door open and the inside broken. My breathing seemed to echo in the silence as I scaled the house. Peeking into the window. It was the bedroom, and she was huddled on her bed. Grasping the knife so tightly it was deprived of blood. I lift the window silently and climb in. Standing in the room with only my breath breaking the silence. My amber eyes met her red/brown ones. It was the girl from the cafe, and she was obviously terrified. I smell the air for her scent like a bear, my nose twitching to the house's scent and deciphering the two from each other. She smelled sweet, like cotton candy or tulips. But she also smelled of sweat from her fear.

Molly curled up so she sat up, looking around in the darkness, but she couldn't hear anything. Suddenly, her eyes met a pair of slightly-glowing amber ones. Molly's mouth fell open, and she nearly dropped the knife, as she stared at the creature. It was obviously not a wolf, although it resembled one. The only thing that crossed her mind was werewolf...but those things weren't real, where they? Instead of standing there, Molly threw the knife, aiming at the beast's forehead and gave a split-second thought to pushing past the beast and running around it. She suddenly realized her mistake: now she had no weapon. Molly scrambled higher onto the bed, and she opened her mouth to say something, but the fear was constricting her, not allowing words to come out of her throat. She pulled the covers over her some more and peered out from the top of the covers and remained silent, although she knew she'd already given her position away by chucking the knife at the beast's forehead.

I dodge the knife and let it fly out of the window. Stepping closer to the girl and watching her every move. I allow my eyes to change to my human eye, electric green glowing in the night. "Did your phone work?" My deep, rumbling voice echoed in the chilled silence. A small smirk playing on my lips.

Molly shuddered as the beast stepped closer, and gripped the bed's sheets tighter. Molly gaped at him when his eyes changed color, and suddenly her breath caught in her throat, and she realized, she'd seen those eyes before. They were fresh in her mind... But where had she seen them? Suddenly, it hit her. He was the man from the cafe! But how... how had he transformed into that... that... that beast?! Molly's thoughts were confirmed when she heard what he said. His voice sent chills down her spine in the silence, and she finally got her voice back, although it was a bit muffled and cracked a bit when she tried to speak through the thick wall of fear.. "Y-y-yeah," she murmured, and finally got the voice to speak, hoping he wouldn't hurt her, like he'd obviously done to the neighbors, "What the hell happened to you?" She asked, staring at him and sitting up more in bed.

I smirk at her question and blink my eyes back to their original color. My words coming from my mind and without the movement of my mouth. "I have always been this way, have the people of the town not warned you of... "The Wolf"?" My voice deepening in an eerie octive as I spoke my given name. "And yes, I am a werewolf" I say and grab her throat, housting her up against the wall and grabbing her shoulder to avoid choking her. "Scared yet?"

Molly shook her head, finding it extremely difficult to comprehend. Was that even possible? Was he born that way? The ugly, hairy mass of wolf? Molly shook her head tentatively when he asked if the people warned her. "N-n-no..." She said, clutching the covers and trembling harder. She opened her mouth and whispered, "Are those even real?" No, they weren't. Molly shook her head. "No, this is just a bad dream." She reassured herself, but just as she'd convinced herself that it was a dream, she found herself being hoisted up, pressed against the wall. She felt his hand on her throat, and reached her hands up to pull his hand off of her throat. She nodded violently in reply, her eyes pleading for him to let her go. Now, indeed, she was completely terrified. Was he going to kill her? Fearful thoughts swirled around in her head as she struggled against him.

"You said they didn't warn you, why were you afraid of me at the cafe?" I ask her, lowering her slowly to the ground. I loomed over her in my massive werewolf state. My fore-paws touched the ground as I backed away from her slightly. Was she a hunter? No, that would be silly. She wasn't very bright in the hunting way.. A vampire? Fledgling? No, she didn't act like it. She was human. But how did she know I was different? I snort roughly and flick my ears back.
