Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly let out a breath of relief, and scrambled back onto the bed, leaning back into the cushions, listening to him talk. "I wasn't afraid of you." Molly snapped. "I knew you were... well... different... because of the way everybody else was acting around you. It's not that hard to realize, if you pay attention." Molly felt extremely uncomfortable looking over at him, hovering over her, and scooted farther away from him. She wanted to stay as far away from him as she could, while he was in his crazed state. It freaked her out. Molly relaxed when he backed up a bit, but he was still too close for her comfort. She suddenly felt cold, and wondered if it was just his presence. Knowing it probably wasn't very smart, Molly went back under the covers and pulled them tightly around her.

My eyes lingered on her as she pulled the covers back over her. Fright plaguing her face. I grabbed the window sill and crawled out slowly. Turning around to look at her again. "I was born this way, just as you were" My words seemed to hiss through the air as I turn and bound off the building. Lifting my forepaws and leaning back. A long growling howl erupted from my throat, vibrating over my vocal cords. The next thing I did involved something of terorizing some more citizens and stopping by the local dairy farm for a little beef dinner. I couldn't remember very well. It was very hazy.

Molly was about to stop him and ask him if he'd really killed those people in next door. Before she knew it, he was gone, and she got up, closing the window indignantly. Molly sighed and stared at the footprints he'd left, then shrugged and locked the window once more before making her way into her bed, pulling the covers about her and snuggling into the cushions of her pillow. She couldn't sleep anymore, thinking about all that had gone on, and the shock that still lingered behind that there were such things as werewolves. Turning onto her back, Molly grabbed the clicker for the TV and turned it on, eagerly flipping channels, until she found a sappy romance story, and watched 30 minutes of it before absentmindedly falling asleep.

I pace in my cool den. A trickle of water dripping in the background sound. Playing along to my footfalls. "I should've killed her" My words hissed. The moon fading into an early sunrise. Just a few minutes more and the girl would tell everyone who I was, in human form. A snarl roared through the cave as I swing a massive paw at the rock. Causing it to crumble lightly. A snap and pop brought more pain and I once again turned to my human form. Electric green eyes replacing dangerous amber ones. But soon enough, the green would be just as feared.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly was awoken to the warm sunrays, reminding her she'd forgotten to close the blinds, and wondered groggily what'd happened. There was a faint dent in the wall and her head hurt slightly, and suddenly it all snapped back to her. "No," she shook her head rapidly, swinging her legs off the bed. "No, it's all just a bad dream." Molly rubbed her forehead and anxiously made her way to the kitchen, only to see that the thick butcher knife was gone. Her heart pounding, Molly ran as fast as she could to the door, unlocked and unbolted it, and looked outside to see police cars in the driveway and surrounding the house of her neighbor's. Molly's mouth dropped and she made her way, bare-footed, through the six-inch deep snow, over to their house. She looked inside, leaning over the bright yellow, "DO NOT ENTER" tape, to see the bodies of the two lovers. The sight was enough to make Molly gag. It wasn't a dream. Molly felt tears spring to her eyes at the idea of two lovers dying, like her parents had died. A police officer came up to her and tried to shoo her back home, telling her he'd deal with it, but she said abruptly, "I know who did it." The police officer stopped in mid-sentence and stared at her with keen interest, and proceded to question her.
"It was the werewolf man." She started. "But he's not just a werewolf! He's... he's like us! He's human..." Molly shivered, scared to death of what had happened to her last night. "He's rather tall... bright green eyes... never caught his name." The police officer patted her shoulder and sent her back to her house, giving her a word of warning that her slip-up of his description may cost her, but Molly was too frightened and shocked about what had happened to her neighbors. Shakily, she went back into her house and closed the door, locking and bolting it again, all the while her mind replaying the events of last night, and the horrified screams of her neighbors as if they had only happened moments ago...

The night was long and I awoke to sore muscles. The few hours of sleep not paying me any justice. I rub my eyes groggily and adjust my coat. Glancing around quickly to make sure there was no one around. Memories of my stupidity pulled at my mind as I stepped into the freshly fallen snow. Crunching under my brown leather shoes. By the time I had reached town, there were light sketchings that looked of my human form posted on telephone poles. Duct taped to the green metal. I furrow my brows and look behind me quickly before heading towards the widow man's house. However, the reason I always left my laptop there was because the man was dead, and the house had been empty for several years. I grab my laptop and hurry inside, bolting the pad-lock and locking the handle. Anger coarsed through my veins as I pulled away the curtains, watching as the police put even more portraits up and asking around. The woman had told everyone. I knew I should've killed her. Why hadn't I?

Molly yawned and looked around her house, pacing back and forth, swearing she had now gotten frost-bite on her toes and feet. Molly shivered and rubbed her arms, trying to get warmer, and sat down on the leather chair next to the window, and opened the blinds, looking out. She saw a man in a coat walked into an old man's house, although she'd never seen the man be active. Molly closed the blinds and made her way into her bedroom, deciding she wouldn't go out today. That wolf knew where she lived. As long as he knew that, she was in danger. But where else could she go? She was too new around here, and she hadn't made any friends yet. And if she stayed at anybody's house, they'd be in as much danger as she. Molly pounded her head against the pillow and cursed herself for revealing the man's description, praying that he wouldn't come and kill her.

I curse low on my breath and swing the heavy fabric over the window once more. Grabbing a vase with dead flowers and no water at the wall violently. It crumbled to the ground and I swear once more. Leaning against the wall and glaring at the mess. This was the perfect town, and now my idiotic self had ruined it over some girl. One that was completely new here, and one that I hadn't even knew. Why did I have to go and let her live? My handsome green eyes were masked by my eyes lids as I run my fingers through thick, almost black hair and sigh heavily.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly grimaced as she began to calm down, starting to wonder about the old man. Was he even alive? And if not, was his body still in there? The house didn't look demolished at all -- in fact, it was in great shape. Molly flinched when she heard the very faint sound of something crashing against the wall from the neighbor's house - the old man's house - and decided she should go check up on him. She slipped from her pajamas and put on a tight-fitting T-shirt with skinny jeans and black, knee-high boots, slipping on a black leather jacket over that, and putting up her hair in the usual attire. Molly dabbed on some lipgloss to be presentable, even if he was only an old man, and walked out of her house, truding her way through the layer of snow, over to the old man's house, hoping everything was all right.

I pick up the crunching of boots in the snow and my heart jumps. Was it the police? Someone else? I growl at myself and step into the back room, hoping they would go away if I didn't answer the door. But what if they came in and saw the broken vase? I open an old closet door and step inside the tight space. Complete darkness and dust pressing on my breathing. I hold back a cough and wrinkle my nose at a cobweb that decided it would have a spider home. The spider tickling its way across my neck. With a swipe of my hand, the spider cascaded to the ground and began its way back to its web.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly finally made her way up to the front porch and wiped the snow off her boots to be polite, so she wouldn't drag snow into the lovely little house, and knocked on the door before waiting patiently. When nobody answered, she knocked louder and reached for the doorbell, only to realize it was broken and she cut her finger on a sharp end of the broken plastic covering. She furrowed her brow angrily and knocked once more, this time saying, "Hello? Is everybody all right in there? I heard something crash... I wanted to make sure you're okay." She stood quietly and waited for a response, hoping that that crash wasn't the old man, and that she wouldn't need to bust down the door to get to him.

"You have got to be kidding me" I snarl the words in a whisper and step out of the closet. I silently walk to the door. With one swift movement, I open the door and grab her shirt, swinging her violently inside and locking the door behind me. "I thought you weren't going to tell" The words seemed to growl in my deep voice. I step closer to her and clench my jaw "You stupid little girl" My words were rough, but I obviously didn't want to kill her. There were completely different personalities in my two forms.

Molly was just about to kick the door until it busted when it swung open and she found herself sprawled out on the floor, her one form-fitting shirt stretched and hanging more loosely than it used to. Molly scrambled to her feet and shook herself off, thinking it was the old man who'd done it, it had happened to fast for her to tell, but she was about to apologize when she looked up into the bright green eyes she'd seen last night. Molly's mouth dropped open, but she found the courage to speak seeing as he wasn't in his werewolf form, "You killed two people! You expected me to shut my mouth after that?!" Molly said defensively, crossing her arms. Molly peeped slightly when he stepped closer, all to aware that he could probably beat her to a pulp if he wanted to, but his next words showed no signs of bloodthirstiness. "I'm not stupid." she muttered.

"You know what I am capable of and you still told. The two that are dead deserved it. The entire town had it coming." I say and step around her. Picking up the glass from the vase methodically and setting them on the counter. "Why are you not afraid of me as are the others?" I ask without looking at her. The brown eyes seemed to weaken or soften me for some reason. A reason I know not of and probably never will.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly dropped her gaze and rubbed her arm nervously, lifting her finger that had been cut and wiped the tiny ribbon of crimson blood onto her jeans, where it disappeared into the fabric, not to be seen. "I don't know why I told. I just did what was right," Molly confirmed, feeling quite confident in her answer, although her voice had wavered slightly. She lifted her eyes and watched him picking up the broken glass pieces and putting them on the counter. Why wasn't he looking at her? "Oh, I'm scared of you," Molly said quickly, but as if to cover the words, she added, "But I choose to try and not let it show, and I always do what's right over what keeps me safe." She said, quoting her words from her mother, and dropped her gaze again, sighing and wondering what her mother would've done if she was in this situation. But then again her mother never believed in nonsense like werewolves and the like.

Once the last piece was placed on the counter, I was forced to turn and look at her. Gorgeous eyes showing strength that hid her fear and honest terror. The look made me fall deep into memory of my mother and her pain. That was when I realized why she tore me apart so much. I cringe and turn quickly away, stepping down the hall and sitting on the bed. Feeling my face get hot from the anger and pain conjuring in my soul. My fingers becoming shaky. I force the feeling away though and simply sit on the bed. Face in hands and sitting still as a rock.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly stared into his bright green eyes after he'd finished placing the last piece of glass on the counter and he looked up at her. Some unknown emotion was swirling in his eyes, but Molly couldn't quite put her finger on what. Molly tilted her head, confused, when he cringed and walked away, and she was forced to pull out of the memories of her mother, and followed him tentatively, watching his hands shake. He seemed a much more sensetive man that people put him out to be. Molly sat on the bed beside him, but not too close, she was about an arm's-width away, and asked quietly, "Are you all right?"
There she goes again, letting her nicer side get the best of her. she shouldn't care for him, for all she knew, he wanted her killed because she slipped up, yet the small piece of her mother that still remained inside of her forced her to be friendly towards him, whether she wanted to or not.

shake my head at her closeness and words, scooting farther away from her so we were on seperate edges of the bed. I then stand up and walk to the door, unlocking it and opening it so that she could leave. For a moment I thought of walking straight up to a policeman, and letting him either arrest me or kill me. Whatever he wished. I pulled my mind from that and pulled out a bar stool. Sitting on the dusty wood and resting my chin my hands. She need not get into my problems. It was best for the both of us if we stayed as far from each other as possible.

Molly sighed and looked at her folded hands, fiddling with her thumbs. Molly lifted her chin slightly to watch him walk over to the door and unlocking it, opening it for her, and she knew what he was trying to get her to do. Fighting everything her little internal mother was trying to tell her to do, to stay and comfort him, she left. She had probably made his life a living hell now that all the police would be after him. Molly trudged through the snow, a fresh wave starting to fall heavily from the sky, and she wrapped her arms around herself, giving him one last parting glance before making up her mind, and making a beeline for the police station. If making up for what she'd done meant lying to officials, she would do it.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
With a decisive glance at the broken glass, I step outside and shut the door behind me. The snow falling once more and making it even more difficult to walk. I step out from under the roof and the snow crunches under my boot, leaving a trace of my being there next to hers. Her footprint much smaller than mine. I grab a nearby posster and rip it from the pole, crumpling it up and throwing it into the snow. I knew I would catch the attention of one of the cops. That was what I was trying to do. I looked over to see the woman heading for the police station, just before looking down the barrel of a colt 47. I place my hands behind my head and allow my electric green eyes to look at the man in front of me. Dark blue vest and black bullet-proof shielding covering his dark black skin. His deep voice telling me to take of my jacket. I did as he said, and set the dark leather to the ground. This is where my freedom ended. Probably for good. Unless I could escape.

Re: Such Unspoken Mystery Is Like Playing With Fire [ Thunderstruck ]
Molly turned around and saw the wolf-man being taken into custody (probably) by a policeman. Here was a chance to get herself straight. She jogged over to them and tapped the officer on the shoulder before pursing her lips and saying, "That's not him. The man had sandy-blonde hair." she shrugged and looked the wolf-man over, pretending to examine him. "His complexion -- i mean the werewolf man -- his complexion was much lighter." Molly nodded and turned to the policeman, "Officer, I think you have the wrong man." The officer brightly brought up the man's eyes, and Molly said quickly, "You know, the wolf-man could've been wearing contacts to impersonate this man." Seemingly convinced, the officer nodded and glared skeptically at the man, then commented about how he'd be under survaliance, then turned and left.
Molly glanced at him and then turned on her heel and began to walk away slowly. Now she'd have to pack, and move again. The idea didn't appeal to her.

I look over as the woman comes back and out smarts the policeman. Confusion littered my face as they both left. The knees of my jeans now soaked from the snow. Grabbing my jacket, I through it around me and jog over to her. "Why did you do that?" I say, pretending to walk casually and hiding my confusion from the police. "You know I deserved to go to jail"

Molly heard him get up and start following her, although she'd expected as much. She picked up her pace briskly, hoping he'd just drop it and let her be. "I did it," she said, pausing, but not looking at him, "Because I felt guilty for ratting you out." Molly chuckled slightly at his next comment and she muttered, "Hell yes, I knew that." Molly pulled some hair behind her ear and stopped abruptly, turning to face him. "I have this little guilt thing I get. It's obviously from my..." she paused, choked up a moment, "It was from my mother's genes. She was always easily guilted into things and felt bad for somebody easily." Molly threw her hands by her sides, clenching them into fists. "I just had that problem, all right? Now if you'd excuse me, I have to go pack and hit the road." Molly turned and walked up the stairs of her front porch.

I stop as she stops. Listening to her words and then watching as she storms up the stairs. Slightly shocked at her reaction, I turn around and walk back towards the old man's house. The falling snow causing a thick fog illusion that made it hard to see anymore than a few feet in front of you. Once again, the street lights turned on in the cloud cover and helped me make my way to the house. Once there, I step inside and pull off my snow-covered jacket and sit on the bed. Thinking of everything that had happened with curiousity.

Molly sighed as she put her hand on the doorknob and felt it easily twist. She hadn't locked it. She looked back at the man and watched him disappear until the snow was falling too hard for her to see him anymore, and it obscured his silhouette. Molly pushed the door open and went inside, searching the house for any valuables that she'd need to take on the road with her, and collected a few things, including her mother's picture, and she paused to look at it. The woman looked almost exactly like her, with black hair and brownish eyes, although her hair was much more voluminous than Molly's. She was almost identical to her mother, although Molly was thinner and had more... advantages... than her mother did. Molly plopped onto the ground and slammed her head against the wall, tears building at the corners of her eyes as thoughts of her mother flooded back to her.
