A Day At The Beach

~Nemui~
I walk out onto the beach, my barefeet sinking into the hot sand. My bikini covered only my vitals, leaving the rest of my slim figure to be admired at. I pulled down my shades and winked to a few guys who were gaping at me, then put down my towel and sat out. I put my shades back on and looked around. I watched a few sexy surfers messing around with each other on their boards and grinned. My long brown hair flowed in the small breeze. I closed my eyes, listening to the waves crashing up against the sand. Maybe I'd go for a swim later...

~ John ~

I sat apart from the other surfers, sitting on my board as I stare out at the ocean. I see a wave coming and start paddling towards it, ignoring the calls of the others. Right before the wave hit me I truned around and stood up, balancing easily on my board and surfing along the edge of the wave. Finally, the wave died out and I sat back down, not wanting to drift too far to shore. I sit out nd watch the rolling waves of the ocean, lost in my own mind. A moment later I unclip the band that connected me to my board from my ankle, diving into the water. I dunk under a few times, holding onto the rope, and finally swim back to shore with it. Picking up my board, I head over to the pier that was near where I was surfing, standing my board up by the wooden legs of it and then heading up. I lean over the railing, my wet hair clinging slightly to my forehead, not cold at all by the ocean breeze, and look out over the pier, watching the other surfers and thjose on the beach.

I watched the surfer with great interest. He was pretty good looking. I stood up and shook out my long brown hair, then walked silently towards the water.

~ John ~

I see a dark haired girl walking towards the water, training my gaze on her. She was beautiful. I lean against the high railing of the pier, watching a couple kids playing below me for a moment before looking back towards the girl.

I walk into the water untill it reached my hips. I then dove under and swam out farther into the ocean.

~ John ~


I watch her body move gracefully through the water, then a slight scream distracted me. I switch my gaze to the two kids, but only one was there now. The other one was in the water, deeper than she should be, and it looked like she was drowning. She disappeared under the water for an instant, and I climbed over the pier, jumping off the railing. I dive into the water, swimming quickly over to the little girl. Only the dark haired woman was near me as I pulled the girl's limp body from the water, waterlogged and heavy.

I watched the man pull the girl from the water and swam over. "Is she okay?" I asked, my voice drifting with the breeze.

~ John ~

I glance at the woman for an instant and shrug, my expression worried.
"I'm not sure yet..." I say, pulling her to the shore where a crowd was standing. As I stood up with her, she coughed and opened scared eyes. I left her with her parents and the crowd, along with the two lifeguards who had saw what had happened and came over. I stand away from everyone, watching the little girl and her parents, her friend running over to them.

I follow him out of the water and watch all of the people swarming around. "Good thing you were paying attention. I was in the water and didn't even notice." I watched the little girl with sorrow-filled eyes.

~ John ~

I nod, watching them take care of the little girl, before turning my gaze back to the woman beside me.
"I'm John, by the way," I say, holding my hand out to her.

[Guest]

~Nemui~
I smile and take his hand. "Nemui. That's, "Nee-moi" she added with a smile.

[• Echo]

~ John ~

I smile at her.
Nice name. Unique, I haven't heard it before," I say, shaking her hand for a moment.

I smile. "Yeah. I'm not from around here." I let go of his hand and stare into the water for a moment. "Your a pretty good surfer." I commented, looking back up at him.

[• Echo]

~ John ~

I smile small, looking out at the water.
"Thanks," I say.
"I've been surfing since I was little," I say.

[Guest]

~Nemui~
I glance back up at the beach and then back at John. "You must've surfed often, because I think you've beaten most of the others." I nodded to one who had just fallen from his board.

[• Echo]

~ John ~
I chuckle softly at the other surfers.
"Whenever I'm here," I say.

I roll my eyes playfully.

~ John ~
I watch her.
"What about you?" I ask.
"Do you surf of skateboard or anything?" I ask, teasing ehr slightly.

[Guest]

~Nemui~
I laughed slightly. "Nope. I've tried surfing...fail. Never tried skateboarding, for heavens sake it seems I can't keep my balance on anything I have to stand on." I smiled warmly. "I've tried a few others things, like horse back riding..Guess what? I fell off of the horse." I rolled my eyes.

[• Echo]

~ John ~
I laugh lightly.
"I cna teach you," I say.
"Well, to surf I mean, if you want," I say, walking over to the pier slowly as I waited for her.

~Nemui~
I followed him, smiling. "You would teach me? Are you sure it would work? I just told you, I fail." I laughed slightly.

[• Echo]

~ John ~
I smirk.
"Well, if you're as bad as you say you are..." I joke.
"Yeah, of course I can," I say.

I smile. "I'd really like that."

[• Echo]

~ John ~

I laugh lightly.
"Well, we can start now, or tomorrow," I say, looking over at the crowd.

I shrug as my hazely brown eyes scanned the beach. "That's up to you." I grinned.
