Felene was already drowsy, but as he leaned into her ear, she listened. Her eyelids were closed and she was about to fall into a deep sleep. Even with her tiredness, she heard him. Or did she? "Whhhhha?" She asked, stretching herself and yawning. She laid on her legs, but knew what he had said. Or at least probably knew. She was still aware of him around her, but hoped that he wouldn't ask again. She stopped moving and began to breath deeply, helping her fall asleep faster. Maybe if she pretended she was asleep, he wouldn't ask again.

Felene resisted the urge to twitch her tail. He had asked her the question again. She let out a squeal, in her mind of course. Continuing her deep breathing, she hoped that she could fool him into thinking that she was asleep. She gave a snort and opened her eyes, but just barely. Mumbling a bit, she finally opened her jaws wide enough to speak. "Well umm..." She gave a long pause. She wanted to leave that sentence unfinished, but she compelled herself to end it. "I need to think about it." She said, squirming a bit, but didn't move.

I smiled gently at her before I said, "It's okay. Think about it. I understand." Then I gently licked her neck, trying to lull her to sleep since she needed it.

Felene resisted the temptation to look at his face, which was surprisingly easy. She could barely feel his tongue on her neck, and quickly fell asleep. Her limbs felt heavy, and she didn't want to move them. Doubts where still forming in her mind, even though Shadow looked like he could handle it. This was going to end bad, or with someone hurt. She had that feeling, but knew that Shadow wouldn't go. She just had to deal with him, and her emotions.

I watched Felene fall asleep before I layed my head across her back and fell asleep myself.

Felene had woken up a few times, not knowing if it was still dark or morning outside. She shook her head. She could hear the breathing of Shadow beside her, the memory of the night already in her mind. Almost like if it was being processed while she slept. She crawled a bit farther away from him, the feeling they shared last night not with her in the morning. It felt weird, but she was doing it last night. She felt herself grow hot with what had happened, and quickly pushed it out of her mind.

I felt Felene stirring and I lifted my head. "Are you okay?" I mumbled sleepily.

Felene didn't answer him, though she felt herself telling her to. Taking a few more steps, her grogginess soon left her, as her eyes were alert. She wanted to see the sky. She could see, but not that well. Walking a bit more, she had the fear that she might bump into the wall. "Shadow, lemme out." She said, seeing his body shape. She felt like clawing the roof of whatever they were in, but resisted it.

I woke fully and stood up, automatically lighting the torches again. Then I turned and smiled at Felene. "Did you sleep well?" I asked politely, having not forgotten the moment we shared last night.

Felene let out a small whimper as he didn't show her the way out. But as the torches brightened the place up again, she could see what might be the entrance. She ran towards it, and poked her head out. She whipped her tail on the ground, and took a breath. It smelled different, but there was no dragons. She thought that she could smell some birds and deer. Her stomach growled, and she pushed herself out. She laid flat on the ground, the jumped towards the nearest tree branch.

I quickly followed Felene. This time I WAS NOT letting her out of my sight. Those dragons could still be around. I followed her onto the tree branch and scouted for some deer.

Felene had a twinge of annoyance that he had followed her, not giving her time to think. But then again, this might be what life would be like if she had been Shadow's mate. Had, she stressed. Looking around, she noticed something brown moving under them. Could it really be this easy? But as she watched it, the deer suddenly ran. Something else might have spooked it, or her breathing. She jumped off the branch and unfurled her wings, gaining speed. The deer had no chance. She landed on it's back and lifted it a few feet up. Then quickly, she let it drop to the ground. It tripped and rolled on the ground, and she met it before it had a chance to run. She bit it's throat hard, and the deer went limp quickly.

I watched as Felene caught herself a deer then something caught my eye. It was a huge, twelve point buck that was grazing a few feet away from where I was crouched on the branch. That would feed me and Felene for days if need be. I quickly snapped out my wings and dived for it. It tried to run but I snatched it up in my jaws and it went still.

Felene heard Shadow, but didn't react. Instead, she started to eat her deer. She heard his wings, thinking that he had found more prey. Then, a loud noise. Her head shot up, thinking it was another dragon. It couldn't be a deer, deer weren't that heavy. She took too the trees and saw Shadow with the buck. She looked at it for a moment, then at Shadow. "That'll spoil before we can eat it though..." She said, knowing that she left her kill alone.

Felene looked at him, then looked away. She was feeling increasingly frustrated. She needed space from him to make her mind. The feeling that she had felt for him seemed so long ago. He couldn't take a hint, so she would have to say it. However rude it was. "Shadow, I need some time for myself." She said, then ran off from the deer. She kept running, not bothering to fly.

I watched Felene run off, understanding why she need to be alone. I picked up the two deer and carried them to my hidden den. I put them in the coldest part of the den. Then I ripped a leg off the buck and walked over to my little alcove and settled down in my nest to eat.

Felene was relived when he didn't come after her. She ran faster and faster, until she later spread her wings out. They filled up with air and lifted her up a bit, but she didn't go airborne. Running was helping her clear her thoughts, and she stopped. Her legs ached and she was taking fast breaths. She leaned against a tree and let her mind roam a bit. She wanted to be his mate, but it wasn't the time for it. This wasn't the time to settle down. She still had things to do, places to be, and curiosity to satisfy. She wasn't sure if she wanted another dragon to be with her. But then again, she might not have to give up anything. She shook her head, her thoughts getting her nowhere.

Felene looked behind her to the direction of the den. Should she go back? Would she just leave him like that? She couldn't leave him like that, but he would follow her anyway. She had to settle the abductions before she could settle down. She opened her wings and went to the den, knowing that she could at least enjoy the rest of the day. He wouldn't stop her, not this time. Going through the hole to the den, she landed silently. She shuffled her feet, feeling her courage fade quickly. Taking a deep breath, she looked around. She would need to eat before tonight. "Shadow." She said, though she didn't look at him.

I heard Felene say my name and I got up and went over to her and gently nuzzled her neck. "Welcome back." I said, a little jokingly.

Felene wanted to embrace the nuzzle, but she stepped away. "I have my answer...just let me eat first." She started to walk to where the smell was, and just started eating. It was cold and it chilled her, and the meat was also cold. She chewed the meat for a few moments, and went up. She was almost shivering by the time she looked at Shadow. "W-well I want to be your mate...but I need to settle some things first. I'll be leaving tonight, a-a-alone." She said, and turned away from him. She couldn't stand to look at his face, or his reaction.
