Shadows helped conceal black fur that rippled above the muscles that lay just underneath. Stealth and dexterity allowed for precise and silent movements through the undergrowth and overgrowth of the forest’s floor. Tall trees surrounded the black panther; their canopy provided shade and added an atmosphere that was quite discomfiting. Everything in this forest had always screamed ‘murder,’ and rarely did a regular human venture far into the wooded area and come out alive. Leon prowled these areas in the early hours of the morning and in the late hours of night. The life of other living things mattered little to him—he had more important places to be, more important things to be doing. Above all, his strength made him superior to other animals. So, why not show other, disrespecting animals who was boss around here? Being ‘king’ of this forest—at least this part of the forest—gave Leon a somewhat cocky attitude. He didn’t choose his battles wisely in these woods, mainly because no animal that challenged him had ever been able to best him. He was proud of the fact that he had killed enough animals that he had forced other animals to respect him. To most people, an attitude such as this labeled one as ‘evil.’ For Leon, it wasn’t necessarily true. He had his good sides. As a human being, he was a talkative, flirtatious teenage boy who had many adorers, though he had never believed in love, and therefore settled on unintentionally breaking hearts wherever he went. He was a loner, as well, making for an unbelievable personality of a combined popularity and a want and need to be left alone. An unbelievable personality of wanting to be the center of attention, and wanting nothing more than the quiet saneness of an empty room. All in all, the boy was a world of contradiction.

Turning golden eyes to the tree-line, Leon pondered whether or not to get going. Gazing up into the canopy of trees, he noted that sun was just starting to shine down on him, warming black fur. That meant it was going to be time for school within the hour, and he ought to start walking. Another bonus about these woods: they were a twenty minute walk from his school. He often jogged, getting his daily exercise in human form without breaking a sweat. As a panther, he rarely cared if he sweat or not, seeing as big cats such as himself rarely had to worry about others judging them by their smell. And it wasn’t like he didn’t take baths, either. They were infrequent, but he still took them. In his human form, he made sure to shower at least once daily, showering at the home where he had been raised for his entire life. His parents had fallen for the charismatic boy’s lies of not having running water at his apartment, that being the only reason why he only ever came to shower at his old home. Leon no longer ate human food—being a panther meant he ate more than a human’s fair share of food, satisfying a panther’s stomach but making a human feel rather bloated. So, added bonus to being a panther being, he never got hungry. Slowly morphing into his human form, his pelt melting into jeans and a black jacket, eyes changing from golden to blue, Leon headed out towards the schoolyard. If he got there quick enough, he could hang outside by the fountain and watch as the people came in. He acted sort of like a watchdog for the fountain; he rarely left the fountain in his free-time and could often be found sitting on the edge of the fountain doing homework. Leon always finished homework at school so he could put his materials back in his locker and go back to his woods without having to worry about misplacing something in the grand forest.

As expected, Leon made it there in record time—which was only ten minutes less than usual, but still. However, much to his dismay, he had started to sweat lightly. Ignoring the fact that he was a bit sweaty, he headed straight towards the fountain and sat down, leaning against the wall that the fountain was connected to and pulling his black hoodie over his face, blue orbs scanning his surroundings, but not letting the outside world see where he was looking. I wonder where the nerds are? They’re usually here by now. Everything is so quiet this morning. Leon chuckled emotionlessly before going back to people-watching, waiting for all the people to come according to social statuses. It was funny how that worked. Nerds came very early in the mornings, along with the geeks. Next came the ‘regular’ students. After them, the popular kids showed up. Of course when the populars showed up, they were at least ten minutes late. And finally, the outcasts, loners, skater-boys and skater-girls. Nobody really noticed them being so late. Leon was the only loner to ever come before even the nerds some days. Mostly he arrived just before the regular kids, but as stated earlier, his social status was a very complex one. Meaning, he could show up at school at any time period and be considered part of whatever group was coming in at that time. Shaking away the thoughts of social statuses and whatnot, Leon trained blue orbs on the gate where students entered. Now all he could do was wait.

[ ^___^ Hope it was good enough and left you enough space to respond. ]

[[ Oh gaush I hope I do this justice, please ^__^ ]]

The cool of the morning filtered through the young girl's wavy hair. Her small nose appearing and disappearing from the veil-like mane. She tucked away a strand that had been tickling her all morning, and finished her mascara. Rarely did Shawna wear more makeup than a little coverup and mascara. She wasn't normal, so she didn't get those annoying breakouts. Also, her wolf-side gave her gorgeous big blue eyes. Pursing her lips as she capped the makeup, Shawna turned on the heel of her tennis shoes and tossed her hair. Putting her weight on her hand, she shut the large window that had been blowing fresh air into her bathroom. The 16 year old girl bounded down her carpeted stairs and was met with a wall of delicious aroma. Her mother, not biological, had cooked up a nice meal of eggs and bacon, along with some freshly squeezed oragne juice. Only then had Shawna notice just how famished she truly was. With the growl of her stomach, the girl slid into on of the bar stools by the kitchen, and smiled at the kiss her mother laid on her forhead. "Dad get an early call?" Shawna questioned, her voice smooth and melodic like a toned down version of a wolf's eerie howl. Her mother made the girl a plate and slid it in front of her. A nod tilted the head and jawline of the small woman who was untying her apron and hanging it on the pantry door. "Unfortunately" She said after a long while. By then, the girl had chowed down all of her food and drank her juice. Feeding both a human and a wolf was hard work. "Love you!" She called after brushing her teeth. Her mother said it back, but Shawna didn't catch it as she dashed from the door, leather jacket in hand. She shrugged the coat on and adjusted it over her tuquoise tank top. She wore jean shorts that weren't too short like the fashion was at the time. Also, on her feet were her favorite pair of boots. They were similar to those outrageous boots you see in fairytales, but she loved them all the same.

I guess you could call Shawna and outcast. The girl had no friends, which didn't bother her. Her wolf side was the more communicable side anyway, and she played with all sorts of forest creatures over the weekends. During her spare time at school, the girl prefered to work out difficult keyboard songs or finish homework instead of mingle. Girl's are mean, she had discovered at a young age. If she ever had friends, they were males. It's just the way she is, and it has earned her several titles. Whore, slut, desparate were all included. Shawna paid no attention however, and dwelled on the fact that in a real fight, the girls would be good as dead before they could open their pretty little mouths.

Shawna leaned over and took her old fashioned bicycle in her small hands. The tips of her fingers remained healthy, short, and unpainted. Her toenails were the same. The girl straddled the vehicle of sorts and peddled down the street. It took her, on average, 10-15 minutes to reach the school, but she still arrived with the geeks. By nature, Shawna woke at daybreak. It was her animal side that tied her so close to nature, and nature's ways. Early to bed, and early to rise, make's a wolf healthy, wealthy, and wise, right? Her lips parted in a deep exhale as she turned into the parking lot of the school. She locked her bike chain and stretched her back out. Shawna had plenty of time to gather her things from her locker before class, so she walked around the school courtyard a bit. Finally, the girl wandered further towards the school and glanced around. She was the new girl, as usual. Shawna never stayed with one parent for long, they couldn't handle her odd schedule. This new family seemed the best so far, and she hoped it would be the last.

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

[ You did great! (: ]

Leon had nearly dozed off when the first wave of nerds and geeks came in. They were usually divided by two separate groups: nerds, and geeks. Duh. Leon watched one of the cute nerdy girls walk past him and give him a flirtatious wave and a giggle before heading inside the school building to do God-knows-what. Unlike the populars, the nerdy and geeky girls were all right with him. Leon knew the popular girls would smile and wave at him just like that, but then go off and be slutty by offering all they’ve got to the football stars. And in Leon’s mind, those girls didn’t have much to offer. Leon was not the type of boy attracted to large chests or full lips. No, he was really only attracted to personalities—and so far, Leon had deemed every girl in the school unworthy of his love. But then again, Leon had never before felt love, so how was he supposed to know if his heart deemed a woman worthy, but his mind told him no? Leon was watching as the nerds conversed with each other about science projects, some of them actually talking about English essays, and the rest of them about whatever the hell nerds usually talked about. Being a panther, Leon had enhanced smelling, seeing, and hearing, even in human form. However, he did tend to have selective hearing when in his human form. So, if he wanted to, he could block out the crap he didn’t want to hear and listen to whatever else was going on around him. Leon closed his eyes, only to have, moments later, his eyelids pop open, though the rest of his body didn’t make a move as to alert anyone else of his sudden awareness. What was this? A new scent? Leon quietly took a deep breath in through his nostrils before letting the breath out through his mouth, the air blowing through only slightly parted lips. Leon let a smirk crawl across his face. A newbie. How fun today was going to be. It wasn’t likely the teachers would pair him up with—he smelled the air again, once—her. Seeing as she was a her. The teachers tended to pair girls up with girls, and guys up with guys. But suddenly Leon was curious. Why was she transferring here, when it was nearly second quarter? First semester was nearly over—thank God—but that also caused curiosity to spark in the shape-shifter’s mind. Leon leaped to his feet and shoved his hands in his pockets after flipping his hood behind his head.

One of the girls waved excitedly to him and made him stop for a minute so she could show him the “A+” she’d gotten on a math test thanks to his ‘tutoring’ her. Leon considered this girl to be a friend with benefits—though the two of them shared no sexual ‘benefits,’ merely intellectual benefits. Luckily for the two of them, Leon was good in every subject she was not, and she was good in every subject Leon was not—which was only history. He aced his other classes, despite his lack of good study habits. Leon, suddenly vexed, had to discretely sniff (as not to weird out other students) the air to relocate the new girl. As soon as he found her, he followed the scent until he was far enough away from her that he could see her every detail, but he was still too far away for them to have a proper conversation. Leon took in every detail about her. She was quite beautiful, in a very…strange…kind of way, but beautiful nonetheless. Leon pondered a moment whether he should go up and say hi. Eventually she would learn his name and most likely not because he introduced himself. Being one of the more desired boys in school, if the girl made any friends, the girls she became friends with would instantly tell her about all the guys that every girl wanted. But Leon didn’t want any girl. He preferred the power he had over other animals in the forest. He didn’t need friends. He could live in solitude and he’d be forever content. As long as he had enough food. The panther ate almost anything he could get his paws on—from berries to foxes or even small dogs that happened to wander too far from home. Deciding he’d say hi, Leon moved forward once more, heading towards the new girl. But as he got closer, one thing became prominent. She didn’t smell exactly like the other girls. Not that all girls smelled alike, but she had something…different in her scent. It peaked his curiosity even more.

“Hello there,” Leon said, his head lifted high and tilted slightly in a cocky manner. “I’m—”
“Eee! Leon!” one of the girls screeched as they passed by, pointing at him before going back to giggling with her girlfriends. Leon sighed, obviously agitated, and nodded.
“I’m Leon. Leon Eichel,” Leon stated matter-of-factly before turning blue eyes back to the girls that had called out his name. The girl’s voice had been high pitched, and Leon was currently having a hard time masking his discomfort. That screech had hurt his sensitive hearing. “You’re new. Never seen you around before. So what’s your name, pretty miss?”

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Post by Saviour Tue Jul 17, 2012 10:29 pm

Her hair twisted and turned softly just as the leaves above her head did. The Aspen tree above her was a gorgeous creature. It's pure white bark with small dark spots, and it's small electric green leaves. With each breeze the leaves rustled, which is how the tree earned it's nickname as Quakey. Shawna's lips parted in a soft exhale as she leaned over and clasped her music book between her fingers. The shiny, laminated front was already torn and ripped from her handling. The rest of her folders, books, and notebooks were spotless. She used this one the most, for she sped through her class work just to practice. Her fingers moved over the pages like a keyboard, her mind speaking the notes that failed to sound from her imaginary piano. Every so often she'd recognize a mistake. The slip of a finger, the extra beat she held. With each mistake she'd restart the melody. Shawna used this method often in order to perfect the pieces she loves so much. Soon, the girl grew bored of Mozart and moved on to other artists. However, Beethoven grew ever laborous as well. Shawna flipped the book closed and her dark blue eyes turned towards an ant as it trecked across what it thought was a series of canyons, forests, and mountains. A smile pulled her smooth, soft lips at the corners.

After tossing her music book to the side, she stooped to grab her water bottle. The cap snapped as Shawna broke the seal. The girl lifted the plastic to her lips and let the cool liquid run down her throat. She swallowed several mouthfuls of the rejuvenating liquid before she replaced the cap and set the container back on the ground. The ant took a turn to avoid it's base, and continued on its mysterious mission. Shawna laid back agaisnt the wooden bench, on leg dangling off the side. Above her, the Aspen leaves shimmering like a fishing lure as they rippled. Between the gusts of wind, the girl's keen sense of hearing still picked up on the slight rustle of their glossy sides brushing together. Shawna's eyes fluttered close as the sounds of nature lulled her to a near sleep. The girl rarely slept hard, they were typically short, aware, naps. This was one, for as soon as more people began to arrive, she traced every step with her acute hearing. A few times, she'd peek to ensure the students were not approaching her bench. A few moments went by, and a shuffling nearing her direction brought her attention. Sitting up slowly, Shawna glanced around rapidly. A masculine figure was, in fact, approaching her. The quick glance was nothing to be noticed by him, so she acted as though she hadn't seen him. She could handle being the new girl, but adding weird to that was a suicide note. His voice made her turn, naturally, but it wouldn't appear strange.

Shawna's lips parted to answer just as a high pitched squeal pained her. A wince messed with her sharp, girlish features. Once she noticed she had winced, the expression faded. Her eyes turned back to the boy just in time for them to both miss each other's pain. The girl nodded silently, without emotion, at the guy's introduction. She'd always loved the name Leon, but she was never sure of why. It's not like she planned on marrying one, or naming a child of hers one. Of course, she never thought much of family outside of her animal friends. Then again, a part always ached for that pack like group. People she could trust and hold whenever necesarry. A shake of Shawna's head sent her brown hair cascading around her shoulders like a chocolate waterfall. "Sorry." She said, inreference to her lack of a response. "I'm Shawna... Shawna Grey"

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Post by Greed Wed Jul 18, 2012 6:10 pm

Leon frowned, a million things running through his mind. His ears were still ringing from the girl’s screeches. Chuckling, Leon turned to Shawna and commented, “Do nerd girls usually squeal like that?” Leon asked, though it was all in good humor. Leon wasn’t afraid to say it like it was—she looked nerdy to him, and he wasn’t afraid to tell it like it was. Call it rude, but it was something that Leon had been doing his entire life. Plus, he wasn’t necessarily accustomed to people talking back to him when he said something. He could very well say anything he wanted to and wouldn’t get punished. Of course, he watched his language around teachers. He knew he’d get agitated if a teacher told him off. Shaking his head slightly, Leon ran a hand through his bangs and moved them out of his cerulean eyes. He looked her over a moment, still very curious as to why she smelled so different from the others. Leon knew he should drop his curiosity, else he say something out loud and make himself look like a complete idiot. With his high thinking of himself, being shot down wouldn’t exactly go over well.

“Well, I suppose I have better places to be right now… So, enjoy trying to find your way around the school, Miss Grey,” Leon winked at her and headed back to his spot, sitting and resting his back against the stone wall and pulling his sweatshirt’s hood over his eyes again, going back to watching the passersby. He kept trying to give subtle body signals that he didn’t want to talk to anyone. Saying hello to the new girl was enough conversing for one morning. Perhaps he’d socialize more at lunch when he had more time and freedom. Plus, at that point in time, all the students would be there, so he’d have a larger range of kids to hang out with. It wasn’t like the famed Leon Eichel ate with the same group of people every single day. He tended to get bored easily in human form. He’d rather be out hunting and asserting his position as ‘pack’ leader to the other critters in the forest. Closing his eyes as the populars started to flow in, Leon decided it was a good time for a small nap.

~ ~ ~ * ~ ~ ~ First Period Class ~ ~ ~ * ~ ~ ~

Leon awoke with a start, nearly falling off of his perch on the fountain. He groaned and looked around before rubbing his eyes. Where was everybody? How come nobody was walking around anymore? Suddenly, a thought hit Leon. How long had he been sleeping!? How come nobody had woken him!? Not even the fangirls!? But upon more thinking, Leon realized it was probably better that nobody had woken him up—he wasn’t necessarily a princess when he woke up in the mornings. Groaning again, he got to his feet and shuffled his way to his locker, putting in the combination before gathering his stuff for the rest of first period and heading to his first period class. He wasn’t going to have to like walking in on the middle of a lecture. Class one was already halfway over, anyways. It was going to be humiliating. Leon stopped in front of door #205, his history classroom, and stared at the handle. Finally deciding to just get it over with, he grasped the cool metal handle and turned it, heading into the classroom. He glanced up at the teacher once, who pursed ruby-red lips and crossed her arms, glasses low on the bridge of her nose. With the look she was giving him, Leon wanted to walk right up to her and shove her glasses back to their correct position.

“Mr. Eichel, so pleasant of you to join us,” she commented, staring him down and removing one of her crossed arms and pointing with one long finger (it was obvious she was a pianist) to an empty desk. Leon’s gaze wandered over to the desk and, much to his surprise, he knew the girl sitting in the desk to his left. Leon gave a humorless smile.

“Of course, Mrs. Lithgow. I’ll get right to my seat. Don’t let my tardiness be a distraction to your absolutely fascinating lessons.” Leon moved to his desk and sat down, dropping his backpack on the floor beside him before Mrs. Lithgow could get another word in. He smiled at Shawna beside him and murmured, “I’m kind of a big deal.” He smiled before leaning crookedly into his seat and turning back to watch the teacher go back to her lesson, but as soon as she was turned around he brought up a pad of paper and a pencil and flipped the pad of paper open and continued drawing a very detailed drawing of a panther.

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Post by Saviour Wed Jul 18, 2012 6:52 pm

[[ It's fine really, I don't know how long I can keep up this length lmao ]]

Shawna sneered at his comment. He was clearly one of the more popular guys despite him being here so early. He automatically assumed her to be nerd, and that didn't go over well with her. The girl was one of the phrase- 'Don't judge someone until you've walked aroun in their boots a bit'- so first impressions bothered her. Especially if they were incorrect. "I ought to be asking you that question" She said, and as she did so her lips pursed slightly in obvious discontent. Shawna's voice was curled up, in an accusatory and sarcastic tone that struck pain in the typical being. She definitely was not going to be pushed around. The girl could handle being an outcast, but if people started thinking they were better than her, then the battle was on. Choosing not to respond to his second harsh comment, she crossed her legs and rested her hands on the bench as a brace. Once he was out of hearing range, she let out a huff of breath and narrowed her eyes at his cocky walk. Growing tired of the small misunderstanding, Shawna turned her attention to a book she had recently borrowed from her parents.

The book was one of mixed genres. Science Fiction and horror were the main ones, with mystery and thriller slid in. The author was her favorite: Dean Koontz. Shawna despised a book with too much romance, seeing how they were so terribly stereotypical that it was difficult to read. When she predicted every next step, reading became more of a bore to her than anything else. However, this author as well as a select few others, didn't write romance novels. They might intertwine a bit here and there, but that was a pleasant surprise in the mix of guts and glamor. Just two chapters into the new book and Shawna had already forgotten about the human boy with an ego the size of the Pacific.

-- Later--

The bell was loud and unexpected, ripping the girl out of her trance. Shawna let her book close on the table and slid it to the corner of her desk. It was first hour, history, and she assumed it wouldn't be that interesting. Wincing past the unpredicted chime, she turned her attention the young woman teaching the class. Her dress was of an older fashion, but her bright red heels and glossy lipstick spoke otherwise. She had fair skin, striking, small eyes and glasses that she seemed to prefer having on the tip of her nose than where they were designed to rest. However, Shawna ound her sweet voice easy to listen to, and as she lectured about mesopotamia and other such civilizations the girl was tuned to every fact and opinion.

Shawna was listening in on the discussion of the class closely, though she did not participate. Her eyes trading off as each student added to or contradicted the classmate before them. One such student, who had a terrible stutter, was attempting to argue with the text book as the door creaked open. A hush slipped over the room, and Shawna's gaze lifted to see the egotistical boy from before waltz into the classroom. His snide remarks were anything but surprising, and something made Shawna want to slap as he sat beside her. He had no right to treat that woman with disrespect. Especially since he was the one in the wrong. Leon turned and spoke to the girl, but she offered him little for a response. "Sure" She grumbled through her lips, her chin resting on her fist. Already she was getting off to a terrible start.

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Post by Greed Thu Jul 26, 2012 9:02 pm

[ I’m really sorry this is so short, but I just had a big episode… I need a little time to get back into the swing of things. I promise the next ones will be longer. Gomen. ]

Leon couldn’t help but wonder: what was with the new girl? Sure, she was cute and all, but it was a “small” kind of cute. That being said, Leon was surprised at her personality. Sighing thickly, Leon turned back to the panther he was drawing and added the finishing touches of shading to highlight the panther’s sleek pelt. Though throughout the finishing-up of his drawing, Leon couldn’t help but allow his vexation with Shawna to be somewhat present in the front of his mind. Deciding he’d play on his big-cat instincts, and his love for cat-and-mouse chase, Leon quietly ripped the drawing out of his book and laid it flat against his desk. With his pencil, he wrote in his somewhat messy, yet still eligible, handwriting,

I don’t understand you, Miss Grey. I don’t really want to understand you, either. But you’re different. And I want to know why. Let Cat vs. Mouse commence. ~ Leon Eichel

Leon had just finished up writing his signature underneath his small message when the bell rang. Pushing himself up from his seat and putting the drawing pad away, along with his other belongings, and halfheartedly tossing his pencils and pens into the never-ending abyss of his backpack, Leon took the drawing, folded it up, and chuckled quietly to himself. Looking up, Leon stared quizzically at Shawna before striding up to her. Smirking, he held out the picture, now folded neatly, “I take it you don’t like me very much, Miss Grey. So take this as a ‘peace offering,’ of sorts. Upon my many other talents, drawing is one of them. I just want you to remember, Miss Grey, there’s a meaning behind this drawing.” As soon as Leon made sure that Shawna would take the drawing, he turned his back and began to walk away, “And there’s something written on it, too. It’d do you well if you read it, Miss Grey.” And much to Leon’s disapproval, upon trying to exit the class, he was called over by Ms. Lithgow.

“Hey, look, teach, I’m sorry, okay? You can’t blame me,” Leon said to her, patting the shoulder of the shorter woman, “I won’t be late next time, I promise ya that much.” Apart from the heated objections from the teacher, Leon continued walking, and Ms. Lithgow didn’t seem to want to follow him, either. Shaking his head in quiet victory, Leon exited the classroom and headed down the hallway. In the ten minutes he had between classes, the male managed to attract a crowd of young adoring fangirls, of which he was not happy about at all. Don’t get him wrong—Leon loved female attention, he just preferred to witness it from afar. Having them all swarm to him like this was a living hell for him. Panthers lived in solitude. Male panthers sought attention, but never stayed with one female for very long. Grimacing, Leon quickened his stride, “I must get to math class now, girls. I’ll see you at lunch.” At that, the girls finally seemed to get the message and left him alone. Gritting his teeth, Leon turned into class #406, his math class. The teacher here actually liked him, believe it or not, for math was one subject Leon was genuinely interested in and understood. Don’t ask him why, Leon had no clue why math was his best subject, nor why he enjoyed working with numbers so much, he just did. And he accepted that fact as just another random talent of his. Because of his reputation, he wasn’t necessarily thought of as a genius, but indeed, the boy had a brain, and he knew how to use it, he just preferred not to use it rationally.

“Hello, Mr. Eichel,” the teacher said, girlish brown eyes glittering happily. This teacher was mature in every aspect but her eyes—she had the hourglass shape most young girls would die for, perfectly flowing brown hair, and a wonderfully angular face worthy of a model. However, her eyes held a childish glint to them that never left. Other than that, Leon had to admit that the woman was quite attractive. “How is my best student today?” Leon merely gave her a head nod and smiled before taking his seat, voluntarily, in the front of the classroom. Leon couldn’t help but wonder if Shawna’s next class was math. If it was, he was going to show her how talented he really was. She didn’t seem to believe much in his talent, and if she thought he had talent, she didn’t seem to hold much regard for it. But if she was going to shoot him down in every other aspect, he might as well prove to her that there was one aspect of himself she could never shoot down. Grimacing, Leon slid back into his chair and closed his eyes while he waited for the rest of his classmates to arrive.

[[ Seriously. You're posts are anything but short. Not to mention just how amazing your posts are. ]]

Shawna's breath was heavy when she turned her gaze back to the history teacher. The lesson that had seemed so intriguing was now just a bunch of murmuring underneath her racing mind. Why was he sighing? After all, she was the one having to deal with his preppy attitude. Frustrated at her lack of interest, the girl snuck a glance over at this strange teenager. He was, after all, different. Unlike most of the more popular boys, he seemed to avoid the crowds. Maybe this was just an act, something to try to get her snagged up on him. Sneering unnoticably at her curl look over at him, Shawna leaned back in her chair and folded her arms firmly across her chest. The motion was seemingly normal, but to her it meant alot. Rarely did she get so worked up over something so petty. Then again, rarely did she lose her cool over a human. The bell rung, but this time Shawna didn't leap in surprise. She had been watching the clock as it ticked somberly around the numbers. Methodically yet quickly, she gathered her things and slipped them into her shoulder bag. It was thin, but wide like a laptop bag. Her lean arm muscles glided under her skin as she pulled the bag up. She was stronger than most girls, but it only showed when she lifted something or wore shorts. Determined to escape the prison of this classroom and its students, Shawna wove her way through the desks with surprising ease and was almost out the door.

His voice startled her, though she didn't immediately turn to look at him. Instead, she pursed her lips together in exasperation and shifted her weight onto one foot. Her bangs slid down over one of her eyes, but fell back as she lifted her head to look at Leon. Her ears had picked up on each of his words, and her eyes fell to the slip of paper. A heavy exhale showed her dismay, and she reluctantly snatched the paper from him. It was on college ruled notbook paper, and those annoying frillies were still on the sides. She took notice to his cocky attitude, and rolled her eyes. "Passing notes I see.. How elementary" She said with grimace. It wasn't out of pain, but rather mock sympathy as though she felt sorry for him. His many talents. Whatever, she thought, those were. He probably couldn't draw worth anything anyway.

Her fingers found the edge and flipped the paper open. It was bent at the creases but the panther was clearly visible. her jaw relaxed slightly, revealing beautiful white teeth. The girl pulled her mouth closed in a flash and shook her head. Who cares? So he can draw like Leonardo.Wait, what? No, he couldn't draw like Da Vinci, what was she talking about? Gosh ... She needed to see a psychiatrist. Her eyes found his handwriting, and she chuckled quietly to herself. He didn't have the gorgeous hand writing she had expected. The words made her take a closer look, and her lips curled down in a frown. What? Did he seriously dare to call her different? Disgruntled and aggitated, Shawna took the top of the paper in her fingers and ripped it cleanly down the center. The action was loud, and several students in the hall turned to glare at her. Her eyes trailed up at them, and she lifted her chin in a sneer. "What? Mind your own, sheesh" She growled the words, and turned away from them as she proceeded to peel the paper into the size of a square inch. She let the tiny slips of paper flutter into her locker and took out her math book. She prayed, or hoped, that he wasn't in her second hour. She didn't know what she'd do if he was in her other classes.

Shawna Grey, the girl who was strange. The girl who typically made the other girls shy back with both intimidation and confusion, and preferred it that way, just about lept clean out of her skin at the sound of a voice behind her. Shawna whirled around on her heels, slamming her locker shut as she did so. A small, dirty blond girl with strikingly doe-like eyes stared up at her. She had freckles over her nose and cheeks, and had pretty brown eyes. Her mascara was dark as well as her eyeliner and shadow. Cocking an eyebrow, Shawna pushed her math book into her bag as she asked the girl what she wanted. "Hi. I'm Chloe" Her small voice entered the air. It was quiet, and high pitched, but strong and held an authoritive undertone that made Shawna smile. "And..." Her own voice filled the air. There was a catch. This girl was after something...Clearly. Her slim frame was cocked to the side, suggesting her attitude in one posture. She was a prep, or rather, a girl after guys for something other than their brains. "What was that?" She asked, and lifted her body up on her tiptoes to peer around Shawn at her closed locker door. "Was that from Leon?" She squeaked, and Shawna flinched at the octave. Her head shook, sending her hair dancing over her pale shoulders. "Does it matter?" She asked. Her stride was long, and she clearly wanted the girl to bug off. However, the short teenager kept up with ease. "Come on, spill. We can be friends you know. He likes you, so I like you" Chloe practically bubbled with a fake friendliness. Her smile was cute, but was more of a sneer or smirk. Shawna shook her head and her lip curled up in disgust. "Seriously? He's not even that good looking." Shawna lied. Leon was quite the looker, but she'd never admit it to anyone. The thought made her cheeks warm, but she didn't worry about it showing. It rarely did. "Ugh. Whatever. You're my friend so deal" Chloe grumbled and snatched Shawna's arm in her hands. "Hey!" She cried out, but she tumbled into the math classroom behind the blond girl. The shapeshifter flicked her dark hair from her eyes just in time to catch Leon's gaze.

Great. Thanks a lot Chloe. Thanks a lot principal. Thank you, luck! Shawna let out a noticably loud sigh and leaned back on her heels. Her eyes turned away from Leon as she shook her head and she met the gaze of the teacher. "Hello, Chloe, just before the bell as always" Her voice was thick with a mock relief in seeing the girls. "I don't think we've had the pleasure though... Miss Grey?" She asked, and Shawna smiled sheepishly. "That's it" Her reply was curt, as she didn't want to be too disrespectful. Not that they'd get along. Shawna despised mathematics. She was good enough at the subject, but she made her own processes as she went along and often had to fight her right to use them. "Please, sit. The class is about to begin." Shawna had read the board, but dared not pronounce the woman's name for fear of failing miserably. "Thank you" Chloe said, and Shawna just nodded in agreement. Without consulting Shawna, Chloe tugged her over and sat her behind her. The little blond had taken the seat beside Leon- as was predicted. Unfortunately, that meant that Shawna had to sit in the near vicinity of him. She hid her eyes with her hair and looked down at the scratched surface of her desk, already dreading the entire class and awaiting the next bell.

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

[ I apologize in advance for the math problem. It wouldn't allow me to add exponents on this site, so the problem's answer may be wrong on here, because the exponents were left out. ^__^ The answer is still the same, however, sooo... yup! Just wanted to clear that up. ]

Leon had dozed by the time the bell rang again, signifying the official start of all classes. The teacher clapped an open hand to the desk, the noise causing the classroom to go silent. When Leon fully regained awareness, he realized Chloe had taken a seat beside him. Despite the fact that the girl was so much shorter than himself, Leon enjoyed having her around, though he wasn’t quite sure if she liked him for him, or for the help he gave her on math homework. Either way, Chloe was one of the few people that Leon genuinely appreciated the company of. As if to break him from his rather insignificant thoughts, the teacher spoke up, clearing her throat and glancing down at the thick math book that had its binding now resting in the palm of her right hand.

“Now for problem solving. I want all of you to get out a piece of graph paper and work on this problem: If 2x < 100 and x is an integer, how many of the 2x + 2 integers will be divisible by 3 and by 2?” The teacher wrote the problem on the board so she wouldn’t have to repeat herself and sat down, putting the math book in front of her and staring at the class, “Now go. Raise your hand once you have the answer. The answer can only be a number from 1 to 5.”

Leon smiled at the problem. He’d had harder problems in his life, and this problem wasn’t going to take a lot of time. However, the black-haired boy knew that this teacher wasn’t like the others: she wanted full explanations for everything, meaning he had to give her a detailed ‘report’ on how he got his answer. Once he had it, of course. It only took him about a minute of working on the math problem at his desk before he reclined and raised his hand, staring blankly up at the teacher. In all honesty, this problem was too easy for his liking. He glanced over his shoulder at Chloe, not really knowing why he bothered to look at her, before the teacher regained his attention.

“Yes, Mr. Eichel?” she looked at him expectantly. She put him to crazily high standards when it came to math, and whenever he got an answer wrong (which was very rare, but it had happened a handful of times in the past) she seemed to look down on him as if she were god, and she was going to shoot him down with lightning bolts. She was quite scary when she was angry, despite her cute and stylish appearance.

Leon took in a deep breath, straightened himself, and commented in a rather bored tone, “26 = 64 and 27 = 128. If 2x < 100, then the highest x is x = 6. Meaning, the answer is 3.” Leon shrugged and leaned back once more, pushing the graph paper with his work on it to the side as he looked up at the teacher (who really needs a name). She smiled and consulted her math book once before nodding.

“Good job, Mr. Eichel. I want the rest of you to continue to work on the problem. If you don’t get that answer, redo the problem until you get it right. Mind you, I’m going to be coming around and checking that you actually did the work. So, make sure you show me all of your steps!” With that, the teacher got up and began to walk around, putting a paper on Leon’s desk filled with other math problems to complete. As she had given him that paper, she gave a paper to everyone else, staying at each desk a few minutes before moving on to the next person, checking over their work very thoroughly, to the point Leon actually thought she was being sort of creepy. However, he wasn’t about to speak up about it. This teacher was the only teacher he truly, truly respected. Maybe it was just because he was good at the subject, maybe it was because she was cute. She was actually very young for being a teacher, too, so he thought thinking she was cute wasn’t such a big deal. Rolling his eyes, Leon finished the math paper with 20 minutes to spare, and grabbed his drawing pad once again, listening carefully to the footfalls of the teacher, who was still making rounds around the classroom. It seemed she’d finally stopped and started to help the students that needed it. Leon continued to start drawing, a rather abstract picture of many forest creatures, a panther at the head of them all. Smiling, Leon continued to draw until he heard the bell. Even then, he stayed a few minutes later before getting up. Something suddenly wasn’t sitting right with him, and instead of going to his locker to gather his things for his next few classes, he grabbed his backpack and, before leaving, ruffled Chloe’s hair, smiling gently and saying, “I’ll see you tomorrow, okay? Tell the teachers I went home sick.” With that, Leon shouldered his backpack, finally walked over to his locker, stuffed his bag in, and headed out. He wanted to be back in the forest now, and that’s where he was going to go.

As soon as he reached the forest, he morphed back into his panther form and hopped lithely into one of the trees, resting on a branch and growling at a bird that landed on his haunches. He felt content now, with the breeze ruffling his short, black fur, and the shade keeping him cool. Something about being separated from the forest today got him all off track, which wasn’t like him. Sighing, Leon closed his eyes and allowed himself to doze, tail swishing back and forth gently.

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Post by Saviour Fri Jul 27, 2012 11:19 am

[[ That's okay, I'll be starting Geometry this year so I wouldn't know if you're right or wrong xD ]]

Shawna shook her head at the look Leon had as he glanced at Chloe. So maybe he was the same as the other preps. He seemed to like Chloe, which was a hard thing to do unless you looked at her outer beauty before her inner one. Rolling her eyes, the girl looked up at the teacher as she spoke. Her lips pressed tightly together in concentration as she sketched the problem down on her notebook. It was obviously new, or seemed that way. She rarely used these books outside of class. She finished the problem just as Leon answered the teacher, and she caught herself using him as a reference for her work. Shaking her head in confusion at her behavior, Shawna looked back up at the teacher. She had the correct answer. Shawna leaned back in her seat and rested her eyes as she awaited the teacher's approval. Chloe's small tongue had started to peek between her lips as though she was truly focusing on her work. It was obvious, though, that she would try to get help from Leon.

The teacher hadn't gotten around to Shawna's desk by the time the bell rang, which almost satisfied her. The processes she used typical frustrated her teachers and she didn't feel up to a good argument at the time. Her fingers found the cover and she flipped the notbook shut. It would've been loud, but all the other students had begun talking and slamming their things around so the noise of her shutting her book was almost soundless. Shawna slid her items into her bag and shrugged it onto her shoulder as she had before. A scowl tainting her sweet features. This day could not get worse. Seriously. Her eyes turned to hear Leon's voice. Another thing, why was she able to pick out his speaking in particular? Why had he gotten her so interested in him? Not caring what he said anymore, Shawna slipped between the two rather rudely and disappeared with the crowd. It was only second hour, and they had two more classes before lunch.

The girl managed to get through, or rather, suffer through, two entire classes of male teachers lecturing her about a foreign language and how to properly sand your wood. Those were definitely her least favorite classes now. Then again, she hadn't seen Leon in any of them. Maybe they weren't that bad after all. Shaking her head at the fact that she still wasn't free of the image of his boyish grin, Shawna shoved her bag into her locker and pulled out her wallet and phone. She shoved both into the pockets of her jeans and turned to head to lunch. The rapid movement sent her straight into the solid chest of a football player, who promptly stepped aside to watch her collapse on the tile floor. Shawna caught herself with her hands, and she landed with a loud crash. The hallways went silent, and as she looked up through her chocolate colored bangs, everyone sounded with laughter. Shawna gritted her teeth and stood slowly, brushing off her now scuffed knees. The brick wall who had failed to catch her offered a hand to her, and she looked up at him. Her eyes were like daggers, and seemed a paler tone than they were before. He snapped his hand back and shook his head slightly. Sneering, the girl turned and practically ran off towards the cafeteria.

Vegetables. Vegen(sp?) food. Nothing had anything to do with meat on this particular day. The day that she wanted little more than to sink her teeth into a nice steak or hamburger. Shaking her head, Shawna replaced her wallet to her pocket. "You know what, I'm not hungry. Thank you though" She told the lunch lady, a sweet smile covering her disgust. Shawna turned around and walked out into the warm afternoon sun. The next inhale brought the sweet scent of flowers and trees, and her eyes closed. So she would be out for fifth hour. What was the big deal? She'd be back in time for an hour of language and PE. She didn't mind those classes. It'd be fine. Her eyes flickered about her to ensure she wasn't being watched. Once she was sure it was clear, Shawna stepped into the forest and changed into her auburn fur coat and agile feet. She let her tongue loll out of her mouth before she leaned back against her haunches. She pushed off, and lifted her snout in the air as she wove between the tall trees. Her nose picked up on the scent of a rabbit not far from her, and her body moved towards it involuntarily.

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Post by Greed Wed Aug 08, 2012 8:18 pm

[ I had a random plot idea? You don’t have to follow it if you don’t like it, but I thought it would add a twist in the plot. ^__^ What if Chloe (reason I said earlier you can ignore this is because you created Chloe and I don’t know much about her in-depth character) realized that Leon liked her and used that to her advantage? Like she made most of the moves on him? And later in the story when Shawna and Leon sort of like each other, Chloe kisses Leon and tells him she loves him, and Shawna ends up seeing that? Just an idea. :3 ]

Leon hadn’t cared that Chloe was mooching off of his skills again, and willingly helped her with the math homework whenever the teacher wasn’t looking. Leon didn’t care, either. He had to admit, he had had a big crush on Chloe for a long while. He’d finally given up on her a few weeks ago because he realized if he continued to allow himself to have a crush on her, he’d be too easily manipulated by the young woman. It wasn’t as if the young woman was ugly—Leon thought she was quite beautiful, and though she was so much shorter, Leon had always wondered what it would be like to kiss her. After that one thought, Leon had blushed redder than a tomato, and decided it was best if he didn’t let women get in the way of his life. It would only do bad things to him and his rep. After math class, when he left, Leon found he was having a hard time keeping Chloe off of his mind, that cute, doe-like teenager who was both his best friend, and attempting-to-be-X-love interest.

~*&*~

Everything was peaceful—for the most part, the only noises that were sounding were the birds, and the occasional rustle of leaves as a squirrel jumped from branch to branch. The young panther was in an unusually good mood; the forest was so relaxing when he was resting in one of the thicker branches, one paw hanging over the side, his tail curled around the base of the branch. Right now, Leon was resting on a branch that was high up in one of the oak trees, his right hind leg dangling over the branch. A curious squirrel was debating whether it was a safe perch or not. Luckily for the squirrel, Leon had found out that (at least, to him) squirrels tasted disgusting. If the squirrel decided to perch on his foot, it’d just get a gentle bump off onto the branch below. Despite being a panther, Leon was completely ruthless all the time. He had a heart… kind of. It was black and ice-cold, but it was a heart, nonetheless. Leon supposed the only reason his heart was so withdrawn was because he had no one to care for. Though Leon would never admit it, he silently wished he could find someone relatively compatible with him. He was capable of being loving and caring to another person. Yawning, pearly white teeth shining brightly under the few rays of the sun. Leon had just closed his eyes when a familiar scent wafted up his nostrils. The black panther lifted his head, squinting brilliant yellow eyes as he tried to pinpoint the location of the smell, when he realized where he’d smelt that smell before.

SHAWNA?! Leon fell off of his tree limb, hitting the branch below him and scaring off the indecisive squirrel. Leon let out a low growl as he regained his composure and hopped off his current branch and onto the forest floor below. Being a panther, he could smell from a ways away, so he knew that the smell may not be as close as he thought, so the younger male sat down and lifted his nose into the air, trying his hardest to determine how far away the scent of the young woman he’d met earlier. Leon suddenly hopped to his feet and silently slunk through the forest, keeping to the shadows to keep himself completely hidden. The great thing about being a panther? You could easily hide from pretty much anything and anyone in the darkness of the forest. Leon flicked his tail as he picked up a brisk jog. The moment the scent got strong enough, Leon slid to a halt and looked beside him. When he realized what she was going after Leon smirked and lunged into a lope, swatting the rabbit with one paw, long claws piercing the rabbit’s side and effectively skewering it to stop its plight. Leon glancing over his shoulder at Shawna, relatively sure she didn’t recognize him yet, and tossed the slowly dying rabbit towards her before climbing into a nearby tree and looking down at her with intelligent golden eyes.

Now that he saw her up close, Leon realized how shocked he was to realize that the new girl was not only human, not only smelled different—but was a shapeshifter! The thought made Leon apprehend that he wasn’t alone anymore! But it also made him realize that he was going to have to be friendlier to her, and yet make sure she knew he was dominant around these parts. He’d been born and raised here, and claimed this forest ever since he’d known how to fully grasp his abilities. And as long as she never figured out it was him… it shouldn’t interfere with their school life. But then again…animals had a highly developed sense of smell, so if she even got the vaguest idea that it was him… she could easily act upon it. Leon growled lightly and let out in a hissing voice (that sounded remarkably un-similar to his human voice) “You’re new around here, aren’t you? You might want to learn the hierarchy from the other animals around here… especially the foxes. They’ve learned their lessons harsher than most.” Leon let out something that was as close to a chuckle as a panther could get.

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Post by Saviour Wed Aug 08, 2012 10:40 pm

[[ Yay !! And I love the plot idea, btw =) ]]

The grumble that fell from her maw was surprisingly human. Her ears laced back but she sat back on her haunches without anger or discontent. Cocking her head, she inhaled slowly. The slower, less rapid intake of breath aloud for each and every scent to glide over her receptors. She picked up the rabbit, but that one strange... Mysterious... Yet slightly comforting smell that confused and disoriented her. Her ears erected and glided around her, picking up on the hare as it traversed the blanket of dead foliage along the forest floor. Then, that scent grew stronger and she grew frustrated. A snort escaped her, but it was muffled to prevent startling her lunch. She stood, her lean muscles dancing beneath her sleek, glossy coat. Shawna finally rested her eyes on the grey/brown coat of her prey. Her elbows bent and she crouched down in the shadows, her ears back and her tail low. Then, to her utter surprise and annoyance, a panther leaped out and murdered the hare before her. She was confused, that a panther was in this forest for one, and that it had jumped out and slashed her meal. A deadly snarl ripped from her throat, but when he returned to his branch she stopped. Her ears perked forward to hear his voice. "Who are you?" She snapped, moving over to the rabbit and sniffing it. Now, the recently appealing scent of the rabbit was laced with his indescribable musk. Her nose crinkled and she stepped back. Shawna sat back and looked up at the glossy black feline.
[[ So sorry, honestly... ]]

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Post by Greed Thu Aug 09, 2012 9:37 pm

[ Very Happy Yay, I’m glad! But poor Leon is going to be utterly heartbroken when he finds out Chloe was just playing him :,( ]

Leon stretched, yawning largely, as Shawna continued to question him. For some reason, she seemed to have little idea that it was him—he could see a certain ‘look’ about her, but he couldn’t quite place a finger on whether or not she’d figured out if it was him or not. Leon wondered if she’d questioned the fact that there was a panther in a forest… so far away from its natural habitat. That was the only thing that Leon could guess would raise suspicion—but it wasn’t like he could’ve chosen what he was going to be and when he was going to be it. Plus, he liked being a panther. It gave him a lot of power, and that’s exactly what he wanted. The majestic black cat licked the blood off of his claws before turning his eyes back to Shawna. His name…? Leon hadn’t thought about having to lie about his name. He couldn’t very well just go saying ‘Oh, my name is Leon, I go to your school, and now I know your secret, and you know mine; let’s be friends!’ Leon scoffed at the idea, shaking his head before, yet again, returning his attention to Shawna. “Jet,” Leon said, picking the color of his coat as a base for his new ‘name,’ “The name’s Jet. And who might you be? I don’t believe I’ve seen you around here before.” You’re such a liar, Leon. And you’re not a good liar, either, are you? Leon stretched again before nimbly hopping down off of his limb and walking over to the rabbit.

“Are you going to eat this or not? If you’re not, I’m going to,” Leon stated matter-of-factly. The big cat sat on his haunches, the movement causing his muscled legs to be all the more defined. Leon was very tempted, for some strange reason, to smell Shawna again. Her scent had been different at school, and now that he understood why, he was all the more curious. He had to admit, he liked this smell much better than the perfume-overloads of the girls at the high school (with the exception of Chloe). Shaking his head in attempt to shoo away the flies, Leon dug his front claws into the earth, waiting somewhat impatiently for Shawna’s response.

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Shawna's tense muscles showed just how nervous and distraught she was. Her amber colored coat couldn't decide if it should stand in defense or remain smoothed. Her hackles were thicker than normal, but the fur on her back and sides were smooth and silky. She snorted, and glared at the panther. Jet, was his name. For a second Shawna let her mind run wild, trying to find a memory of this Jet. Unfortunately, she found none. Should she trust him? No. If he went to the school, he could know her name. Her ears laid back and she canted her head and watched the panther as he glided down the trees. She found his obsidian coat rather captivating, and had to force herself not to stare as the sun licked at the smooth fur. Her eyes turned up to his and she offered a small smile as a greeting. "It's a pleasure, Jet" She started, then left a pause. It wasn't hesitant, for she had made up her mind before. Shawna wanted to give him time to meet her gaze. "I'm Talia" She told him. As a child, she had always admired that name. Ever since, when asked for a name of a character or something similar, that was what she'd say. If it was a female, of course.

His next words caught her off guard. "What?" She snapped, turning her head to the kill. Her already uneasy stomach bounded agaisnt its walls again and she felt like she was going to be sick. Shaking her head, Shawna turned her gaze back to Jet. "No, you go ahead" The wolf answered softly.

Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ] Empty Re: Nowhere to Hide [ Sav //R/M ]

Post by Greed Fri Aug 24, 2012 10:12 am

[ Before you continue to read, please read this: I apologize for being so incredibly late. I understand if you want to drop this roleplay because I fail to be polite in the sense of posting within an acceptable amount of time. However, if that is the case, I'd just ask for one last chance? I've been very busy, and my depression has caught up to me, which was very unexpected, and I'm simply trying to cope. If that is not the case, then I'm glad you're neither angry nor bitter about it, and I promise I'll try to post within a reasonable amount of time from now on. I also apologize in advance for the shortness of this post. ]

"Jet" turned and walked over to the rabbit, sniffing it once or twice, before deciding it had enough fat on it to be a decent snack, and began to eat. He didn't eat as messily as usual, seeing as he was in the company of a female, and that of a different species (meaning she probably wouldn't understand panther habits as well as another panther would). Leon licked his lips and turned to Shawna, "Talia, hm? Pretty name." Leon watched her carefully for a second, trying to pick up on any signs she was lying (which he knew she was, but he was still curious to see if he could detect it), but came up empty-handed. After finishing the rabbit, Leon stretched and licked his paws, his tail swaying back and forth in a leisurely and relaxed manner. He turned to look at Shawna once more and continued on with his meaningless pleasantries, "How long have you been living in these woods? Like I said, I've never seen you around here before. Perhaps I should teach you the ropes around here," Leon snarled a bit at the end, baring pointed, pearly fangs. It was a half-smile, half-hiss, but either way he was in an unusually playful mood. Leon flicked his short, founded ears forward and looked her from head to toe once more. "Though... you don't look stupid, so if I lay out the rules right now, I'd assume you'd get them right off the bat, no?"

Leon stretched and continued on with the rules, planning to enforce them if she didn't get them on the first strike. Leon reveled in power -- what he lacked in human form, he made up for in panther form, and that, to him, completed every other thing in his life that had gone wrong; and it made up for times in his life when he didn't have the power to do something, "Rule One: This is my forest. Got it? I'm 'king of the jungle,' so to speak... Rule Two: I'm not afraid to enforce my rules with... force. You disobey, you get punished. I'd assume that's clear enough for you, puppy dog?" Leon smiled, then continued in a gentler way, "Rule Three: Don't think I'm all that harsh, because I'm not. Stay on my good side and you'll be fine. And lastly, Rule Four: I expect a proper greeting every time we meet. Unless, that is, if we are meeting to fight. Then you can say whatever the hell you'd like." Leon got to his feet and flicked his silky black tail underneath Shawna's jaw as he left, "I'll see you around, princess," and with that, Leon sped into an easy jog, quickly making his way back to his favorite spot.
