Jaybird!
Apollo snorted, alone in the garden. Throwing his head into the air, his nostrils expanded as he tested the air for her scent, and caught a whiff of something. He whinned desperatly, tossing his mane and arching his strong gleaming neck. His black tail whipped out behind him in the wind, and his dark eyes searched left and right.

Jaybird snorted, running fast as could be, bigger now, more skilled now. She enjoyed running days on this farm and had grown very attached to Zoey. Zoey watched from the gate, smiling and Jaybird ran faster, jumping the obsicals skillful, landing with a thud. She was not just a young one anymore... put simply a mare. Beautiful and Talented.

[Spritz]

Apollo suddenly whipped around, hearing something in the distance. Suddenly, a sharp crack sounded, and Apollo fell to the ground, his front leg bleeding, grazed by a bullet. He whinned in pain, and saw the shooter. Stumbling to his feet, he managed lopsided run away from the human.

Jaybird heard a loud booming sound and stopped, her heart beating. It sounded like a door but she knew exacly what it was: A gunshot. Latley, the farm has been hearing a lot of them and found some horses skinned and dead. Zoey and her dad has been trying to get a no shooting sign throughout the field. She turned and jumped the fence, running towards the scent then stopped to see a black horse. "Settle down," she murmured calmly, not knowing who he was. She then he a triggering sound and looked up to see the man aiming towards us. Before he could, Zoey and her Dad stepped in front of him. "What do you think you're doing killing horses on this property?" the dad asked and the man put the gun down. "These horses are good use for coats." he answered. Zoey looked at him. "Leave these horses alone they deserve a life." she growled. "We can call police about gunshot complaints ya know." Grumbling the man turned around and left. Jaybird turned back to the stallion and looked at him. "Are you alright?"

[Spritz]

Apollo had crumpled to the ground not 10 yards away, and now lie on his side, his leg bleeding profusley and making a small stream of the red liquid make its way down the hill. He tried to stand, falling hard onto his stomach from the pain. His eyes widened in surprise as he saw a mare make its way towards him, and at the exact moment, he knew who it was. "Jaybird!" He whinned, then started in fear as he saw more humans circle him. He nipped at the mans leg, his teeth ripping his pantleg. Ears pinned back to his skull.

Jaybird heard as he called her name. She cocked her head slightly confused at the moment. "How do you know me?" she asked. She looked back to see Zoey and her dad watching from serval feet away. She turned back to him and she looked him in the eyes., eyes wary.

[Spritz]

Apollo stumbled to his feet, carrying his foot off of the ground, standing on three legs. He tried to set it down, but winced as the slightest bit of pressure fell onto it.
"Jaybird!"
He said a bit harshly, furious at her for staying with the humans.

Jaybird looked at him and cocked her head, surprised to hear the stallions voice furious. She then blinked. "Apollo?" she asked quietly. She looked as the humans started fix his legs. "Please don't move Apollo! You have to trust me." Then that day came back to her, when she was little, when he broke her heart not even trusting her because she went with humans and felt fire heat her body. Not with warmth, with rage.

[Spritz]

"No!" Apollo pulled his leg away from the humans that seemed to be watching him with intrest. He stumbled backwards. "Jaybird, I cant trust them! Even if I wanted to, I cant!" The scar from his last bullet wound still resided on his strong shoulder.

Jaybird knew it! She knew he'd stumble away, hiding from fears and not wanting to be healed. She sighed and looked at him, her eyes covering in straight film. "You never trusted me. This is just like last time and you let me go so easily... because you cared more about those mares. I speant most of my days worrying about you but I realized you were just a pastime." she snapped. "These humans made me feel more special." he voice was quaky, filled with chocked tears. Turning she started to trot away.

[Spritz]

Apollo snorted in discust. "I knew I shouldn't have looked for you. You and you're idiotic humans, depending on them for you're food! Why all they do is spoil you, I bet you dont even remember the days we used to be free!" He snapped. It wasn't his fault for not trusting the humans, something in his nature made him hostile towards him.

Jaybird whipped around, this time the film erupted and let tears stream from them. "They are not idiots like you and no, they don't spoil me! Yes, I'm groomed, and yes I get water but I also get to go out and get some of the lush grass. I do get to go to the streams sometimes and think of how happy I am to be with them. But I come back, but you know why? Because I love them!" she snapped. She couldn't believe he said that. She bared her teeth, her voice low: "They were never foolish like you. You never should have looked for me without having things good to say. Hi, how ya doing? I'm proud of you, I miss you, I love you. No, it's I have a herd, I don't trust you, Jaybird your an idiot. Huh?"

[Spritz]

Her words stung his heart, and his eyes flashed in anger. "Yes, I DO have a herd, and I'm happy! I'm happy to be free, to be wild, and to have something I can call mine! You love them! Just like you used to love me!" He snorted. "Proud of you!? Why!? Because you let you'reself be captured and turned into a soft, spoiled wanna be tame horse!He said bitterly, and in his anger, didn't notice the father pulling out his lasso and looping it around his neck.

Jaybird growled. "Really? Really? I used to love you I always loved you but I was tired of your little sweet-talking horses because they could never be mother, they could never be sister... they could never be you. And I am tamed, but wild at heart." Turning she took a hard blow to his chest and turned running towards the stream but then she stopped. "We all have our lessons and yours is just getting ready to be teached." she said, talking about the dad putting the lasso on him and then turned again running there.

[Spritz]

Sighing, Apollo decided to rant about her later, and meanwhile stepped forward as the man pulled him along, staying as far away from the human as he could. Limping his way to the barn, he was put into a box stall and left to be, after they cleaned his wound and bangeded it up, only after calling a vet who sedated the large, powerful stallion.

Jaybird stopped at the stream and looked in it. She growled softly and hit the water with her hoof, her delicate reflection shattering. She lifted her head and a song escaped her lips. "You left me spinning like a disco trying but I don't know if I can stand straight. You took me left when you knew I was right, and now I gotta fight just to make it through the day. I never knew what you were capable of. Baby I woulda kept my heart. But I gave it all, baby I fell in love. Now I don't know where to start
It's so cold with nobody to hold me your so wrong for leaving when you told me you would never leave me by myself.. Out in the middle of nowhere. Now I'm lost, tryna to make it on my own i thought, I could never do this is alone but now I'm walking by myself. Out in the middle of nowhere." she stopped looking at her reflection in the stream again.

[Spritz]

Apollo groggily raised his head, fresh wood shavings sticking in his long black mane. He lie on his side, his leg bandaged and treated with something that stung. He whickered softly, and flopped his head back onto the ground, his sides rising and falling with each breath he took.

Jaybird turned and heard back to the barn, going inside to check on her brother and looked at him. "You learning your lesson you were asking for?" she taunted him, a smile on her face, fighting back tears that came to come.

[Spritz]

Apollo faintly heard a voice, his ears flicking softly as he tried to focus. His vision swam, and everything was fuzzy and bleary. He whickered softly, then passed into unconciousness.

Jaybird gasped and whinnied softly as he went uncounsious she put her nose to the lock, and lifted it up, pushing the door opened and lied by him teardrops falling onto his coat.

[Spritz]

Apollo sighed softly, then raised his head as the door opened softly, and his ears pricked as he heard footsteps coming towards him. Suddenly, something wet dripped onto his hide, and he whickered softly, moving his legs a bit.

Jaybird looked him in the eyes, shaking her head. She felt her heartcrack going through all their bad memories seeming to break the happy ones. "You hurt me so much back there..." she whispered.

[Spritz]

Apollo turned wavering eyes onto her. "You hurt me, Jaybird. You hurt me by leaving. You hurt me by forsaking you're own brother for a two legged. And you hurt me by saying that stuff about my family."
Apollo sighed. "But I know its you're decision if you want to stay. Maybe these humans arent going to hurt us, but I cant stay."

Jaybird shook her head. "They are not your family..." she whispered. "I'm your family and you have to stay with me... it would be a good life here. Easy and fun, able to still be free. They hardly have you locked up in a barn."

[Spritz]

He shook his massive head. "No Jaybird. They are also my family. So are you. But I'm not going to endanger all of them just because you want to stay with the humans. I'm not telling you to come, or to leave here, but I will not be staying. I came to see if you wanted to come back. See if you wanted to finally change you're mind. But you havn't. So I will be leaving as soon as I'm better.
