I take a bite of the food and swallow. Listening to Molly's voice as she walked slowly down the hallway. I should probably shower and get dressed soon. So I set my mind on finishing my food. Not shoveling it, but steadily eating the food.

Molly smiled as she sat down again, struggling to feed herself with one hand, while cradling Claire in the other, who was mighty interested in pulling on molly's shirt again. Sighing, Molly managed to take another bite of omelette after pulling her shirt out of Claire's hands again. She was extremely active for a one-day-old.

I chuckle soflty at Claire, though I hadn't felt so light-hearted. "She is quite energetic" I comment before pushing another bite of food into my mouth. The taste of egg, cheese, and cilantro blending rather nicely on my tongue.

Molly chuckled, "Never would expect her age, would you?" Molly asked, more of a rhetorical jest than a question. "Stop that, Claire," Molly scolded as Claire went back to nearly ripping her shirt off. Molly situated Claire to a place where her shirt was out of reach, and she could finish her breakfast in (relative) peace.

I shake my head in response and move my gaze to the food. "And onry[sp?]" I add. Looking back up when Molly moved the child and smiling softly.

The question kept nagging at the back of her mind while Molly finished her omelette, and brought her plate to the sink, propping the newborn on one hip and managing to get the plate and fork into the dishwasher, easily finding out where everything went. She was a woman, after all. And a mom, at that. Sighing, Molly cradled Claire and looked up to Jake, "You know... It's been bugging me, and I know it may not be the most pleasant breakfast talk, but will we ever be...." she sought for the right words, "...A normal married couple, persay?"

I watch as she places the dishes in the washer. This time I didn't move to help her, because she seemed capable and willing. Then she began to speak of what had been gnawing at us both. I take a heavy breath and stand up. Scraping the rest of the omelette into the trash and rinsing the plate. "Mostly" I say, looking over into her eyes and hesitating to break it. I then look back at the plate and turn off the water. Setting the dripping ivory dish next to hers.

Molly frowned momentarily. It wasn't the answer she was looking for. To be truthful, she didn't know what she was looking for. All she knew is she wanted more. She wanted promises of a happy, healthy life, where they could raise Claire together and officially get married (no, she never did get married to Jordan). Maybe, if it was in God's plans, they would have a child of their own. Not the spawn of Jordan, although Molly loved Claire with all her heart, and was planning on raising her in a completely different lifestyle. Instead, Molly just nodded.

I noticed the small frown before the nod, and matched the frown. But I tried to force the sinking feeling away and close the dishwasher. "I should get into the shower... The towels to the bathroom I showed you last night are under the sink" I say before walking out of the kitchen. Trying hard not to look back, and walking down the hallway slowly. I felt so odd. As though I was being pulled from a place of horror and into a pit of flames. Out of a terrible place, passing through a lovely one, and then thrown into a more disappointing one. I hated that I couldn't give her everything. Anything, and everything. All she ever wanted and would want. I push open my door and shut it silently behind me. Letting my head fall back against it's white wood.

Molly noticed he looked rather disappointed, too. She nodded and said, "Thanks," before following him down the hallway, but breaking off into her room. She should probably take a shower, but she didn't really feel in the mood to do such things anymore. Instead, she closed the door to her room and rocked Claire to sleep, which was rather easy, and curled up on her bed, hugging an extra pillow and thinking about Jake and what the future would hold for the two of them. And Claire.

After catching a few minutes to think, I walk into the bathroom and turn on the water. It was rather warm, but it felt nice. I pull up the [idk what it's called] and shut the curtain to uncloth.

Molly nearly fell asleep more than once, until she heard the water from Jake's shower running. With that little sliver of remeberance she was still in his house, made it nigh impossible for her to rest. She grimaced and hid her head under the pillow, trying to push all thoughts of him out.

Once done, I turn off the water and step out. Wrapping a towel around my waist and opening the door. A cool breeze lifted over me, but it didn't phase me. As it the cold never had. I hadn't once broke the thought of Molly, but I tried to as I brushed my teeth and changed into clean clothes.

Unable to concentrate on anything but Jake, Molly rolled over onto her back and tried her hardest to think of the kindergarteners back at her school. Her mind wandered to little Joey and Miranda, the two twins, and Caitlynn and Michelle, and Lola, Jacob, William, and especially Bryan. Molly smiled, but as soon as she finished naming and thinking of the kids, her thoughts traveled back to Jake, and she cursed herself before turning onto her stomach and screaming into her pillow.

I ehard the scream, but it was muffled. And wasn't out of fear as I listened a little closer. I pull into my jeans and wrap a leather belt through them. Adding my typical shirt type and leather jacket. After that, I let myself collapse into my bed. Staring up at the ceiling and taking a heavy breath. Wondering if it would ever be the same. Or if she would always act so oddly around me. My mind traveled to when we first met, then that night. And I shiver, even in the warmth of my jacket. Wincing slightly and lifting my palms to my forhead. I grumble and rub my eyes, trailing my hands through my hair and letting a large breath out.

After the scream, Molly felt rather nice. She chuckled at herself. It was unlike her to be so moody. She grimaced and closed her eyes, wondering what Jake was thinking about. She sort of---well, no, really---wanted to go find him and cuddle up to him. It would be nice, she knew, but she wasn't sure if he was ready to move straight back to where they had left off. And there was a new question to eat away at Molly's brain.

I give up on catching some rest, and slide off the bed. Opening my door and stepping down the hall again. This time less hesitantly and taking Derek's dish. I rinse it out and set it back in it's place. Pausing to look out the window. Where a small family played. A woman, a man, and a young girl. Full of bubble giggles. I longed for that scene, for that to be my life. But I knew Molly could never trust me that much. Who would? Did I even trust me? With that terrible thought ripping it's way through my mind, I step into the living room and sit down on the couch. Derek shifted in slight annoyance, then settled his head onto my shoulder. The touch alone making me feel a little better.

Eventually Molly gave up on trying to calm her mind. If Jake wasn't going to come to her, she'd come to him. She didn't give a shit if she seemed desperate anymore. She just needed his love and affection. She stepped out of her room and stared down the hallway before seeing his bedroom door open. He probably wasn't in it, then. So, she made her way around the house until she found him, and smiled gently at the sight of him and Derek. She near-silently made her way over to him and sat down next to him, curling her legs up beside her and resting her head on his chest. "Hi," she murmured softly.

My mind had escaped a second before finding Molly's slender frame in the doorway. She made her way to me and snuggled close. Immediately I felt my heart beat race from her touch, and I slipped my arm around her waist. Kissing her forhead. "Hi" I respond. Not caring that not long before I hadn't felt all that sure about us and our 'Happily Ever After'.

Molly smiled gently when she felt his arm around her waist, and his lips on her forehead. She found that the moment she was with him, close to him like this, her mind was cleared. It was as if nothing in the world could bother her. Her smile broadened unintentionally and she closed her eyes, relaxing in his embrace. "You know..." she said quietly, "We really ought to do this more often."

I nod softly "That we should" I say, massaging her back gently and drowning in her tender touch. It was so amazing to be this close, and I never had thoughts of anything but her when we touched.

Molly smiled and sighed gently when he massaged her back. "Does that mean we're gonna share a room, now?" She asked, hoping the answer was yes. It would be nice to share a bed again, and she couldn't begin to explain how lonely she felt last night when she was by herself. Even sharing a room with Jordan was better than sleeping alone.

I look down to meet her red/brown eyes. "If that is what you want" I say softly, nearly in a whisper. To be honest, I had hoped she wanted to share a room with me. I remembered that one night we slept together in that bed. Change or not. It was much better than sleeping alone. And I missed her. God did I miss her..

Molly smled broadly. "Yay," she said before shifting so she could look him in the eyes. It felt right to do at that moment, so she pushed herself up gently and kissed him on the lips. She had wanted to do that her entire pregnancy, and here she was, now that it was over. And they had each other again. Which meant she could do that any time she wanted. The thought made her chest swell with happiness.

She pressed her lips to mine and I continued the kiss. Pressing softly back. The feeling and touch sent pleasure throughout my body. It had been too long since I had felt her lips to mine, and my memories hadn't faded in the least bit. It was just as amazing as I remembered. Her soft, thin lips were still as perfect as they had been when we last saw each other.
