Jake

I hid my smirk when she looked over at me warily. Rolling through a yellow light and turning into the mall's parking lot. It was a rather large mall. One I had been to only once. My father's words played like a prayer in my head as I pull the key from the ignition and twirl them around my index finger before getting out. "Which store first?" I ask her, opening the door. Before it mattered whether I acted normal or not. Now? It didn't matter now. Nope. She was -of course- in too deep.

Molly smiled warily as he opened her door and she got out, desperately trying to calm her nerves. Instead of giving him a quick kiss and a thanks, she took the door from it and closed it herself. She readjusted Claire in her arms and said meekly, "Do you really want to go shopping with me? Maybe you could go get coffee or go to Joseph A. Banks or something? I don't want to humiliate you by asking you to come shopping in women's stores. Especially if I stop by Victoria's Secret." Molly was doing her best to disuade him from coming with her. Something about him had changed almost instantly, and, frankly, it scared the shit out of her.

Jake

I close my eyes purposely when she turns to shut the door. Centering myself back to normal and opening them again when I hear her boots shuffle as she turns back around. She was trying to get me to leave her be. I contemplate the idea for a second. Clenching my jaw as I look over at the large mall. She caught on, so I guess I should probably cover my ass, because I didn't feel like dealing with this at the moment. "You'll be ok?" I ask, immediately changing my tone to protective.

Molly noticed him clench his jaw, and she squinted one eye at him for a moment before returning to normal. She was extremely relieved when his voice returned to his normal, protective tone. She let out an inward sigh of relief. "Yeah, I'll be fine." She said. She leaned up and kissed him gently. "How about we meet at that resturant over there," she pointed to the small resturant, of which she couldn't read the name (it was some spanish resteraunt) "In an hour and a half? Sound good?" Molly asked.

Jake

I return the kiss, and keep the urge to kiss harder away. She ends the kiss and speaks of a restaurant. I turn to look at the oddly titled restaurant. With a quick nod, I look over at the mall. Then look back at her. "Hour and a half?" I ask. I didn't know if that was the typical amount of time to spend shopping, but it seemed quite a while...

Molly saw the look on his face. "Jake, I'm a woman. We take our time shopping, and we try things on." Molly rolled her eyes at him playfully. "I'll knock it down to an hour, does that sound all right? Then we can have lunch." Molly looked him in the eyes, her mind still chuckling over his reaction to the amount of time she'd set before them. He obviously didn't have much experience with women, and she suddenly felt warm inside when she thought that she would be his experience, and he hers. She turned away and waved. "An hour, got it?" She repeated and walked into the mall.

Jake

I nod "And hour, got it" I reply. though my words were quieter, they were deeper and she could easily hear them. Turning around, I put the keys of the corvette into my back pocket and turn my eye color to their original color. Amber. I caught a nervous glance from a woman passing. A young boy in her hands. I chuckle, and she practically jogs to her car. I step inside a small coffee shop and order my usual. Just without the cresant[SP?!]. The man behind the counter --per usual-- did my order rather quickly. I watch him intently until her hands me my coffee, then I place the money on the counter and spare a cocky wink. He shivers and takes the green paper. I outside the shop and sit on a bench, sipping at the bitter drink.

~1 Hour Later~
Molly only had three bags. One of them was tiny (Victoria's Secret) and held a few undergarments for her. Enough that she'd be able to have some to wear while other's were being washed. In the other bags she had shirts, skinny jeans, and her infamous trademark clothing, a leather jacket. Molly had managed to carry Claire all the way through the stores until now, and she walked over to the corvette, placing the bags down and getting out her phone. She didn't see Jake anywhere, so she'd call him and tell him to come open the car so she could put her bags in, and they could go have a nice lunch at the spanish resturaunt. She flipped open her phone, and instead, texted:
Hey, back from shopping. Can you come open the car so I can put my bags in? Then we can go to lunch. :)

Jake

I open the buzzing phone and look at the message. Sighing softly, I stand up and throw the drink away. It hadn't been that long. Had it? I walk towards the car, absent-minded and forgetting about my eye color. I had been lazy lately. I needed to talk with dad about that... I reach the corvette and smile over at Molly breifly. Then opened the back door. Taking the strings of the bags, I set them inside the car. Not really knowing what any of the stores were. I only knew of the store I got my clothes from. Course, the name always escaped my mind...

Molly smiled at him and said, "Thanks," she shifted Claire in her arms and stared at the Spanish resturaunt, seeing a drive-through. "Would you like to sit down and eat, or take something to go?" Molly suddenly noticed his eye color. They weren't the normal green she was so used to. Instead, they were amber. She flinched inwardly, but she didn't mention it. He had to realize, right? Hopefully he'd notice and change back... What had gotten into him? Suddenly, her fear started to creep back into her viens as she waited for his reply.

Jake

I flinch at her silence and blink my eyes back to their typical green. "Umm... which would you prefer?" I struggled for the words. How ignorant of me. I push my hands into my pockets and shift my weight. Suddenly feeling- or rather acting- uncomfortable. She was intrigued with my behavour, and I didn't need that right now. Not this far in. I sigh inwardly at myself.

Molly watched as his eyes turned back to green, and she began to wonder if she'd ever seen them amber at all. She cocked an eyebrow and stared at him for a moment before saying, "Why not we do take-out? I should... probably get Claire breastfed and put to sleep soon, anyways. She's going to get fussy if I make her sit throughout lunch." Molly smiled. "What do you think?"

Jake

I nod "Sounds great" I place a smile and pull out the keys. Forgetting to help Molly into the car and simply getting into the drivers side. I pull out my phone and check my messages. Dad hadn't said anything yet. I reply to our previous conversation

Dad, I need you to reply. Come on

I push the send button and flip my cheap phone closed. Placing it back into my pocket and starting the car.

Molly grimaced and kept back a whine when he didn't open the door for her -- yet again. She struggled into her seat and placed the seatbelt on, putting Claire at an angle that if there was a wreck, she would remained unscathed, but it'd probably break Molly's arm. She shrugged and said, "I've never been to that resturaunt, so... I guess you can order for me," Molly shrugged. She didn't even care to want to look at the drive through menu. Jake was scaring her. Badly.

Jake

I nod softly at her words and look at the menu. "Well, do you like cheeseburgers?" I ask her. I wasn't going to eat. I didn't really eat human food unless I tried to appear normal.. Sure with the omelet and all, but that was just for the taste and to make her think I was nearly normal. My phone buzzes, and I immediately flip it open. That doesn't help. I flip it shut and clench my jaw. Pushing it back into the pocket of my jeans and looking over at Molly.

Molly shrugged and said, "Uhh, yeah. That's fine." Molly turned her head to look out the window of the car, trying to get away from him. His phone buzzed, and she suddenly raged inwardly. He was probably--besides tying her up in his affairs and dashingly good looks--fucking some skanky blonde. Molly sighed, but she doubted it. He'd been true to her for 9 months, so why would he break that now? Feeling a bit better, she smiled weakly out the window and waited so they could get back to his house. The one place she felt relatively safe. At least she could lock herself in the room.

Jake

I took the silence as a yes, and ordered her a medium cheeseburger and fries with a coke. Getting my brown wallet from my back pocket and taking out the exact amount required. The man at the next window took my cash and handed me a bag of food in return. Along with a drink. I set the drink in a holder and set the food on the arm rest. Nodding a thanks to the man, I pull out of the drive through and onto the highway. "Anywhere else you'd like to go?" I ask her. My mind reeling about what I was to do.

Molly nodded Jake a thanks and she took the drink into her hands, taking a wary sip. For a second, the crazy thought that he'd poisoned it came into her mind, but she knew that was impossible. Unless it'd been set up while she was out shopping.... Grimacing, she put the drink back and stared out the window. "Nope," Molly said simply. She couldn't wait to get back home. That way, she could lock herself in her room. She'd be safe and sound with Claire, without Jake to bother her. And she could eat in peace, as well.

Jake

I notice her distancing herself and chew my lip. Looking out the window. "So how was shopping?" Although I hated it zealously, I made small talk. Trying to keep the awkwardness at a minimal. Yep, I'd need a new idea. Just then my phone buzzed again. But it was a voicemail. I lift it to my ear, pushing it hard to my ear so Molly could hear. It was father, but his new 'plan' wouldn't work. And anyway, I didn't want to do that. I wasn't that bad. Or was I? I shut the phone and reposition myself in the seat. Rolling to a stop at a red light. Did I even know myself anymore?

Molly was starting to feel bad about being so hesitant towards Jake. He loved her, after all, right? Molly miled slightly at the thought. He must be simply stressed out. He had gotten an email earlier, right? He'd even refused to tell her about it. That must be what's on his mind. Maybe she could open up a little bit more. She looked over to him and said, "It was fine." She flashed him a bright smile and suddenly felt the need to apologize, "Sorry I've been acting so distant... I don't know what has gotten into me." She smiled sheepishly, turning her head to look at her feet. She remained silent for the rest of the ride, until the house came into view.

Jake

I shake my head at her apology "No, I'm sorry, some stuff came up at work and it's just getting a little stressful.." I say before turning onto my street and into the driveway. Opening my door before walking around and opening hers for her. I needed to straighten this out. I was getting wayy too lazy. Dad told me not to worry about it- that it was all in my head. But it's not. My eyes look towards the road to catch a black surburban drive by. Chills raked through my body at the sight of it. Recognizing my father's truck immediately. I try to act nonchalant as I shut the door behind her.

Molly smiled at him gently before exiting the car. She, faintly, noticed a strange-looking truck out of the corner of her eye. Jake seemed rather normal about it--she wasn't even sure he'd seen it, so she figured it was somebody from a house nearby his. When they got inside, she put her food on the counter and took Claire to her crib before feeding her and putting her to bed. When she emerged from her room, she walked over to Jake and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Why don't we start this day over?" She asked, smiling as she pressed her lips against his.

Jake

I unlock the door and let her through first. She proceeded to disapear into the back room. Listening to Claire's silence, I assumed I had a bit of time. I open the door and jog down to the truck. Where I opened the door but didn't get in. "Is she yours?" His deep voice still frightened me. Why wouldn't it? He was an alpha...
My eyes instantly swirl amber and I shake my head "No, another man's" I say. His face hardens "And you haven't taken care of her?" He asks. Kill Claire?! I hadn't thought of doing that. "But then I could not do what you ask" He shakes his head. "Get this taken care of, or you won't get any ranking" He snarls, before driving off. Nearly running over my foot and causing the door to swing back. Immediately, I force my eyes back to their fake color and return to my previous position. Molly just came around the corner when I slowed my breath, and kissed me. I tried to return the kiss with the same passion I had before, but it didn't seem to be working..

Molly frowned at him and pulled back. Work must really be getting to him. She stared at him for a moment before sighing, "You know," she said, staring at her feet. "I've kinda lost my appetite." She preceded to arrange the food and put it in the fridge. "I'll be... resting in my room if you need me." Molly disappeared around the corner again before taking out her shopping bags and putting on a nice silk (rather sexy--it was the only one she could find and afford) sleeping gown and slipped under the covers. She closed her eyes gently and was soon, faster than she'd expected, asleep.

Jake

I grimace when she turns around. Angry with the situation. I nod and move to sit at the table. Resting my head in my hands and rubbing my temples smoothly. I shake my head and stand up. "Hey, I have to go into work for a little. Be back around four" I say. That gave me three hours. I leave my phone and keys in my safe. I then leave out the front door and walk towards the outskirts of town. Hopefully one of the Omegas or Bettas would be there..
