Jake

I felt a frown appear on my face as she changed the subject. Packing in an absent manner. Damnit. The intake of breath went without words. I smooth the bed sheets out softly before nodding. "Alright, is your car finished today?" I ask. I needed time on my own to think. Not that I didn't want to be with her. If only Iwas normal, I would have to force myself to give her space. But I wasn't, and I wasn't sure if an accident would or would not happen. It was a risky relationship, and a child would most likely be invovled soon.

Molly nodded quietly, "I'm sure it is. Jordan may have taken it though. I say we rent a car." Molly finished packing and arranged the pillows on the bed. Her heart was pounding restlessly as the nightmare replayed itself in her head to the point where she couldn't take it anymore. "Would you really hurt me?" Molly asked in a voice so quiet she wasn't sure that Jake could hear, but she looked up, eyes desperate.

Jake

I didn't answer her desperate gaze and step towards the door "I'll go get a rental car. I can't drive though, I don't know how. While I look into a job you can pick it up if you'd like. Call me" I say, my words masking my fear and anger, though the more I hid the more it tore me apart inside. Closing my eyed and taking a deep, centuring breath, I open the door and step into the hallway. Leaving the key inside for her if she needed it. Gritting my teeth I step into the elevator. Holding back the urge to throw my fist into the electric car.

Molly had a horrible sinking feeling when he left. She grimaced; she needed a new cellphone. But Molly couldn't concentrate on that now. She was worried that he wasn't going to come back. Would he leave her? Molly slid down onto the floor and cried helplessly. Molly gathered herself quickly, though, and she picked herself up off the floor and changed into new clothes before taking the room key and heading out, her bag over her shoulder. Molly sighed as she closed the door behind her and made her way to the cell phone shop, putting her hair up into a messy bun as she walked, something she never did, hoping it would throw people off long enough that they wouldn't notice she was "Jordan's wife."

Jake

When I stepped out of the hotel I felt a terrible feeling. How could I have left her like that? Without an answer, without ... anything. I hold back the rare feelings that grew inside me and turn down the road. Walking towards the rental shop and adjusting my trench coat. The beige jacket's heavy frame barely moved, but rested on my shoulders a little better. I could never give her what she deserved. Never! I was so naive for this. Putting her in danger for the sake of love. Something I gave up on years ago. How could I have let this happen.. I caught a strange look from a man passing by. I must've looked a mixture of sick/sad/angered, maybe even hungover. I shake my head lightly and push the glass door open to the shop. Stepping inside the air conditioned building that smelled of rubber and fuel. I look around rather confused when the manager greeted me.

Molly sighed as she left the hotel, turning in the key at the front desk. She gained an odd look from the lady, who quickly shook her head and thanked Molly for her stay and to 'please stay again.' Molly didn't plan on it. She was hoping to get a house with Jake, and they'd have their happily-ever-after.
Suddenly thoughts of Jordan flooded her memory. What if the nightmares came true, yet Molly survived? What would Jordan tell her, if he even remembered her, or found her, at that? Sighing, Molly turned into the phone shop and began browsing, fingering her wallet in her bag.

Jake

I nod at the man's words as he quickly walks away. Stepping forward before pausing I furrow my brows. Was I to follow him? With a questioning glance around me, I follow him, barely keeping up. He shows me a bright red corvette and I shake my head slightly. "I can't afford that" I say simply and he gives me a look of slight annoyance. Looking away "Alright" His words were rough. He takes me to another section and I look around absently.

Molly sighed as she browsed through the phones, pulling her hood over her head when she caught people staring. As soon as her hair and more detailed facial features were hidden, people stopped staring as they came in and left the store. She finally found a phone she liked and picked it up, checking the price. Thankfully, it was in her price range. She took it up to the front desk, filled out a few forms under a different last name, and walked briskly out of the store with her new phone, avoiding people's eyes. Once outside, the first contact she put in the phone was Jake (yes, she memorized his phone number, although it made her feel rather foolish). She dialed the number and set it as a speed dial before calling it.

Jake

I jumped as my pocket began to vibrate and I awkwardly pulled the phone from my pocket. Stepping away from the man slightly to open the phone. "Hey" I say softly. "Sorry about back there I-" I stopped abruptly. Unsure of what I was saying or where it was going. Plus she probably had a better reason for calling. "Are you ok?"

Molly smiled slightly when he picked up, listening to his apology, which only sent a pang through her heart. At least he was sorry, right? Molly almost lost her voice for a minute before she replied, "Yeah, I'm okay," she said finally. "I'm fine. We just need to get going, and soon. I think people are noticing me." Molly looked around and played with her lip ring a moment, "Which car rental place are you at?" She asked.

Jake

"Uuuuhhh..." I pause, sounding rather oblivious, before catching the man's shirt. The neon red polo had *Red's Wheels* on the front. Eesh, red much? "Red's Wheels?" I say, nearly questioningly before continuing. "Will you be ok to walk? Are they saying anything?" I stopped myself from anymore questions. Knowing I probably sounded absolutely annoying.

Molly chuckled a bit when he didn't answer right away. She wondered how he could be at a car rental place and not even know the name. She nodded when he finally got the name, and she barely managed to stifle a laugh at his many questions. "Now's not the time for 20 Questions," Molly teased as she began walking in the direction of Red's Wheels. "And I'm fine for now, nobody's said anything. I'm about ten minutes away. Talk to you when I get there." Molly made a quick smooching noise before she hung up the phone and picked up the pace as she passed the police station.

Jake

I look back at the wall I was standing by and listen to her voice. Not content that she was so far away. With that, a strange noise pulled at the phone before the line went. I pull it from my ear and look at it with a rather confused expression before flipping it closed and placing it back in my pocket. "Sorry about that. Thanks for the help, I am meeting someone though" I say and the man seemed relieved as he stepped away. Steps rough and uneven. He has obviously let himself go. I thought playfully to myself, before snapping back to reality and looking at a few models.

Molly grimaced as an officer looked at her strangely. She must've looked rather sketchy, walking past the police station with her hoodie pulled up, nervously glancing at the officers every now and then. She rounded the corner just in time. The officer had just gotten up and started following her, but easily became lazy and discouraged as she picked up the pace as she rounded the corner.
It took Molly 15 minutes instead of 10, since she was working thoroughly on ditching the police officer. She finally walked into Red's Wheels, rather annoyed, as she spotted Jake. She pulled off her hood and smiled up at him. "Sorry for the wait." She pecked his cheek gently. "Which car are we going to rent?"

I smile a greeting to her and take her hand in mine. "I have no idea in this subject. Before you, I didn't even know what these were called" I said. My voice, thoughts, and words spoken in complete seriousness. How was I supposed to know it would be funny? My electric green eyes ran over the many cars. Colors, fabrics, sizes, styles. It was way too overwhelming.

Molly smiled as he laced his fingers through hers and she swung her arms gently, looking around before he started talking. She chuckled slightly at his words then shook her head. "You're silly," she said simply before walking over to a blue corvette, checking the price, and making a sick face. "Damn, are all these cars this expensive?" She asked, stuffing her new cellphone into her bag and pulling out her wallet. She stared at the cash -- she had enough for a corvette, but she wanted -- no, needed -- to save some for later. She pointed to a Pontiac[sp] that was a little less expensive, but not exactly what she wanted. "Will this do?" She asked.

I follow her to the car. Thoughts twisting in my mind about how I had beeen silly. She then walked away from the corvette and I managed to free myself from my thoughts. Shrugging. "Why not?" I say then look over at the man. "Do we have enough money?" He was wiping down a sports car of some sort. I had been talking to Molly the whole time though.

Molly understood that he was thinking about something -- but about what? she couldn't fathom. She shrugged it off and watched as he walked over to her, and she nodded. "We have enough money." Molly then added, "Even if you didn't, I do. I still have my credit card. I'll have to get new ones, of course, when we move, but as long as they're here in this state, we'll be fine." Molly walked over to the man who was wiping down a sports car and said, "We'll take that one." She pointed to the blue car, giving him a smile, which was more of a smirk. Molly didn't like him very much.

Jake

I nod softly "Sorry, I don't have much, never really had a use for it..." My voice was quiet before I turned to the man she was talking to. The man cocked an eyebrow before sighing and nodding. "I'll take you over here" He said, stepping behind a desk. I step forward before turning back and smiling at Molly. More of a, some service, smile. But a smile all the same.

Molly smiled and pecked him on the cheek before lacing her fingers through his. "Don't worry about it. We'll have a new life soon, and I'll help you get through all the nitty-gritty I've had to deal with." She grimaced as the man's tone of voice obviously portrayed that he'd wanted them to rent a more expensive car. Molly chuckled at Jake's smile as she walked up with him behind the counter, credit card already in one hand.

The man typed a few things into his computer before nodding. Telling her to swipe the card.

Molly nodded and watched Jake stand idly, like he had no clue what was going on, and that brought a smile to her face. She swiped her card in the correct slot and put her signature into the little mechanical system.

Jake

I chuckle softly at her smile, looking away to hide my slight embarressment. The cars gleamed brightly in the sun. Nearly blinding. I immediately avert my gaze and close my eyes to relax them against the previous strain.

Molly smiled as the clerk handed her the keys to the car and said somebody would take the car outside, where they could get in. Molly decided it best not to mention they'd be dropping it off at a Red's Wheels in a different location... Whatever. He probably wouldn't accept their business if she'd said that. She walked over to the blue car, a wanna-be sport's car, and handed the keys to another man who began to drive the car outside. "Come on," Molly smiled taking Jake's hand and throwing her hood back over her head.
