And they were from different packs. Shefinished his thoughts though she couldn't read them. She nodded and watches the warriors he picked. They all seemed strong. She looked at Apollina who joined by her side. "This seems far, thank you Dire." shesaid and flicked her tail with gratefulness. Hannah turned and turned side-by-side with Dire, their pelts touching. He then walked up to lead the patrol. "Mind if I take the lead?" she asked pleasantly. She stared at Dire again her heartbeat quickening.

Dires heart seemed to stop as their pelts touched eachother. He then turned to Hannah and smiled then answering Apollina " Its the least i can do." Dire said and then nodded for Hannah to lead the way. He smiled. Dire stoped at the edge of his broder, that lead down into Fourtrees. " Well, it was nice to escort you all. But i have to get back to my pack now. May Starpack guide you back home." Dire said and dipped his head. He ordered his warriors back to camp, adn then flicekd his tail infront of Hannah stopeding her from heaving as her packmates were lead down the slope. Dire smied and looked into her eyes, then touched noses with her. He licked her muzzle and gromed her pelt before she left.

Hannah was surprised by the groom of her pelt. When he was at her muzzle, grooming there. She stopped there and put her head to his. She then turned to see Apollina waiting. She let her head go of his own and turned back over to Apollina. She trotted over the territory and bowed. "May Starpack by with you all." Apollina murmured and they both disappeared into the bramble thicket out of sight. Hannah looked back and pictured Dire by her side once again, his warm pelt again hers. She continued on. They were a long way to the part of North Carolina they needed to. She was absorbed in her thoughts of everything. Him, the journey, the fear in her mind. Too many secrets that had to be hidden. Oh Starpack help me!

Dire slowly made his way back to camp. He entered the bramble thuickets that clouded his den. He layed down in his mossy nest and fell to sleep. All he could think about right now was Hannah. Her warm soft fur against his. Her beautiful eyes melting into his. He wished he could be by her sdie right this moment.

They traveled throughout the whole day and night. Soon, they were at a place that led to a camp. Slowly, they made their way in. They bowed their heads.
"Greetings, many have died in my battle, so we came to get you all." Apollina explained what happened. They nodded and followed them off. They got to the border of Crimsonpack and Hannah led them through quickly.

Dire was fast asleep. But to be awaken by his deputy, Fallen. " Dire! Wake up! Cinderblock found scents of Phantompack warriors coming in fast into our territory. Dire instantly stood. He raced out of his den with Fallen by his side. His warriors were ready as soon as he came out of his den to see them alert for the battle. Dire couldnt believe Apollian and her warriors would promise not to attack and never set foot onto his territory again! Dire growled and howled a battle cry.

Apollina stopped dead in her tracks at the sound of the battle cry. She cocked her head and saw Hannah frozen with sadness and betrayal in her eyes. "Hannah?" she asked wearily. Hannah snapped out of it as soon as the white healer heard her name and looked around all their packmates. "Go all of you!" she demanded. They all dashed off and successfully made it running toward the camp. Hannah stopped and waited for all the wolves of Crimsonpack to come to her.

Dire growled " Go now!" He said adn set off toward his enemys. Silence filled the air, then suddenly BOOM! The two packs calided. All you could hear were furious yowls and howls. Fangs, and claws lashing out everywhere around Dire. He searched the battle area for Apollian. He spotted her. He roared and darted over toward her. Stoping her from killed Cougar one of his warriors. Dire tackled ehr and pinned her down. He looedk at her. Fury building up insdie of him. " You attacked us! After promising not to!" Dire roared and lasehd out his claws to calw down teh side of ehr face. He flung her up and bit down onto her spine slamming her back itno the ground. He raked down her side. Dire grasped her ear and torn half it off.

Apollian kicked him off and got up fur bristling. "What are we talking about? We were heading home..."
Hannah looked around surrounded from yet another battle she spotted Dire with the scent of the leader. She narrowed her eyes. Her heart shattered. She got in front of her wounded leader. "What did you do?" she asked in a choked voice. She thought she liked a--- a nice and understanding strong and majestic leader. When, he was was just a blood-thirsty jerk. He was using me! So he could strike at my pack, he wants to drive us out! He doesn't love me.

Penelope
Penelope peered around a thick tree where she could get a clear sight of wolves fighting wolves. She tilted her head to the side and stepped into plain sight, and she didn't mind at all. She rolled her eyes and growled as she saw all the nonsense going on. She evidently didn't believe in war, and she believed that talking out a situation would be a much better solution than murdering one another. Her ears now laid flat against her skull as she sat down and 'enjoyed' the 'show'. She let out a hasty bark before twitching her tail irritably and glaring at the fighters.

Dire snorted and looekd at Hannah. His heart froze. Everything seemed to freeze. He then howled to stop the battle. " Stop! Enough! WE made a mistake. They were just going back home." Dire said. Fallen stoped fighting and said " But they tres-" Dire snarled at Fallen. " Silecne!!" Dire roared. HE tuend back to the pack leader and said " Sorry for the attack. I forgot you had to get back into your territory to go through mine." He said and helped up Apollian. He looked at Hannah then sighed and dipped his head once again and tuned slowly away.

[mind if Penelope is part of their pack but doesn't like battle, or can she?]

Hannah flicked her tail and shook her head watching him trot off. She whipped her head around. "See you at the Gathering tonight!" Hannah called. She looked at her wounded leader with half- and-ear torn. "Are you okay?" Hannah asked her voice full of sadness. "Yes, are you okay?" asked Apollina.
"Yeah, I'm fine...let's get you cured." she said and led her to the den.

Dire stoped adn whiped around to stomp his paw onto the ground adn roar, almost sounding like a lion. She growled and turned to go back in his den. HE could careless about anything right now. If Hannah didnt think he loved her, when he did. Then thats her problem! HE thought and snorted. He caleld Fallen in and curled up in his mossy nest again. Fallen came apeparing itno his den. " Sir?" HE asked. Dire looedk up at Fallen adn said " I want you to gather wolves for the gathering. We will be going when he feel like it. And that will be at midnight." Dire said. Fallen dipepd his head and siad " YEs, sir!" Falledn turned and walked out of Dries den. Howling to gather wolves for the gathering.

Midnight came fast, and Apollina gathered all the wolves. She had her deputy stay, but: Hannah, Penelope, Swift, and Bramble come with her. With a swift tail, she led them straight to the Fortress island. When they got to the log, they all crossed carefully. When they were there, Apollina realized they were not here yet. She got on a branch, waiting for the other leader.

Hannah had her head looked straight at her paws, and her eyes closed. Her heart-beat slowed its pace. She could not believe was he really using her? He really hurt he leader? She sighed. It was all just a mistake. She told herself, a concerned look on her face. Sadness clouded her eyes, at the thought of him, hating her. She still didn't want it.

Aeron bowed his head and left when the Alpha ordered him to. He didn't mean to cause so much distress for her. If Bandit was here he could have cheered her up. Sighing he padded through the forest till evening began to draw nearer. While he was exploring the forest he smelt a large amount of blood and death. The smell made him cringe and a shiver raked down his spine. Reluctantly he followed the scent. A few minutes later he arrived at a clearing. The scene before him would have made any wolf get sick out of horror. But he was able to hold it as he used to seeing death on a regular basis. There were wolf bodies strewn all over the clearing, some had appendages torn off, some were hardly recognizable other than a bloody mat of fur, and yet others were just barely breathing. He trotted around trying to help the hardly living wolves as best he could. All but one died. This was a male warrior from Apolloina's pack. Aeron could smell her scent on him. But he was too weak to reveal his name.

The injured wolf:

Dire walked out of his den and seen that Fallen had choosen. Tank, Shade, Arrow, and Kill. Dire seemed concerned to see Fallen not come with. But then nodded and howled to gather his warriors to leave.
He led his warriors toward Fourtrees. Stoping at the edge of the slope that led down into the clearing of Fourtrees. He looked around to see Phatompack were sitting around the highrock waiting for the gathering to start. Dire flciked his tail and walked down the slope. Slowly creeping out of the bushes and into the open. Dire turned his ehad to see Hannah here. He snarled and then focused on the gathering. He trolted up the hgihrock and stood beside Apollian. Dire dipped his head to Apollian and then took a step forward to howl. Silence swept the clearing of wolves. Dire waited till Apollian spoke first before he would.

Hannah felt her heart quicken as she smelt Crimsonpack coming. She looked over, hope in her eyes. When he came, he growled at her. Hannah was token aback and sighed, putting her head down.
Shade, a Crimsonpack she-wolf padded over to her, sitting beside her, murmuring softly to her"What is wrong?" she asked. Shade was Hannah's best friend. She loved her being around and always cheered her up. She looked, not trying to meet her friend's gaze. "I-I was afraid you wouldn't be here...." she lied. "Shh... the Gatherings starting."


Apolloina bowed her head back. She stepped forward watching as all the others were quiet, flicking their tails impatiently. "Greetings, Phantompack is still recovering from your little battle... one warrior died, 10 were injured." she said, stepping back, and flicking her tail toward Dire.

Nightfall whimpered as Aeron finished cleaning his wounds. "Can you stand?" He had heard the gathering start and wished to see it with his own eyes, but Nightfall was still weak. "If you can walk to Fourtrees than we may be able to find your pack. Whose your Alpha?" Nightfall coughed hoarsely. "Dire." Aeron nodded and Nightfall tried to stand up. Each time he tried he collapsed on the ground. Finally after his fifth try he was standing and leaning against Aeron for support. "Fourtrees is not far from here. If we walk we should be there within the hour." Nightfall nodded, too weak to speak as he began walking forward. Aeron held Nightfall up and together the two began their slow progress towards the Gathering. Maybe that female Alpha will be there. I didn't have a chance to apologize. Now I know why she was so upset.

An hour and a half later Aeron and Nightfall came over the rise to Fourtrees and beheld the whole assembly gathered. There were 3 packs: Crimsonpack, Shadowpack, and Apolloina's pack (forgot the name). "Which is yours?" Nightfall felt a burst of hope when he saw his Alpha. He didn't wish to interrupt so he instead collapsed on the ground, exhausted. He pointed his nose in the direction of his Alpha. "There. That is Dire." Aeron looked over and saw Nightfall's Alpha standing beside the female he had met before. She was gorgeous standing there with the moon dancing behind her. He the thoughts out of his mind and sat down beside Nightfall. "You may go to your pack now. I should be alright." Nightfall said, but Aeron shook his head. "I do not have a pack." Nightfall blew looked up in surprise. "No pack? How do you survive." Aeron smiled. "Shh, let us watch the Gathering. We may talk later when time allows us. For now I wish to see how this even enfolds." Nightfall nodded and the two watched from where they sat.
