Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
(To clear things up, this is the plan? A new kid, a guy comes to the church. He starts to hang out with Leah an awful lot, and she starts to wonder if she has feelings for him. Eric is obviously pissed off, and soon he ends up leaving Leah 'for the better' like she did to him? Then, Leah realizes that her and Eric were practically meant to be, and that no one could fill his place. Mark or Leah find Eric.... Perhaps the other kid is a real jerk, and he's just acting like he cares about Leah because... he wants more from her?)

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
~*~*~*~
The pair were able to make it away from the place, after hearing the police raiding the building. They hadn't stayed long enough to see what happened, but Eric wasn't sure if that was a good thing, or a bad thing. He held Leah's arm in his good hand, gently steering her in front of him and keeping a sharp eye out for any lurking shadows in the alleyways they were passing by, making their way back to the church. Eric stumbled over his own feet a few times, exuastion taking ahold of him. His eyes threatened to close, and just when he thought he couldn't stand any longer, the church came into view once more. Tripping up the stairs, he fell back against the heavy wooden door, slumping slightly. Eric's breathing was ragged, his shoulder wound having split open once again. Dried blood coated his shirt and hand, seeping through the makeshift bandages from when they had made their get away.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah kept looking behind them, scared that Matthew would be following. Of course, every time she looked back, she only saw a sea of unrecognizable faces. It was a quiet relief, but she kept wondering if Matthew had buried himself deep into the foreign. If that was true, she may never know if he was properly arrested. When Eric stumbled against the door, she frowned, taking his good arm and resting it over her shoulder. She frowned at the smell of blood, "Mark will help, I'm sure of it." Leah put her backpack on her other shoulder, glad she'd managed to take it. She had a few hundred dollars in there, and hopefully it would at least help for the medical treatment of Eric's wounds. She was bruised almost everywhere, her lips were cracked slightly, but otherwise she wasn't hurt. She have a few scratches here and there, but it didn't matter. Eric's wounds were much more serious, and Leah opened the door with her shoulder, stumbling into the church. "Mark? Mark!" Leah called out, frowning at the struggle she was having carrying Eric's weight on her shoulders.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric grunted when Leah took his arm, helping to support his weight. The sound was mostly because he didn't like her helping him so, but pain also started shooting through his body, making him close his eyes tightly and sway for a minute, nearly toppling over.
Leah shoved open the church door, and surprisingly, the room was nearly empty. Eric didn't know where most of them were, but Leah quickly called out for Mark. The teen started to shrug Leah off, but she was suporting most of his weight and without her, he would have fallen over. "Leah-" He started, his voice catching in his throat. Mark's head snapped up at the sound of Leah's timid voice, as he had been talking with a few scattered people. When he saw Eric, his face hardened, his posture stiffening imensly. The man pushed himself up, before breaking into a jog and nearing the two, his eyes holding concern. "What happened!? Leah!? Eric?" He quickly helped Leah with Eric's weight, the teen slumping over. His eyes started to close, but it was mostly from lack of sleep than anything real serious.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
"Eric, hush," Leah snapped. A sigh of relief let her lips go free when she saw Mark's head. She shook her head, smiling weakly when Mark helped take some of Eric's weight. He was fading fast, and he looked like he could fall asleep right then. Leah patted his cheek gently, "Don't fall asleep yet," Leah said softly, hauling him upright. When Mark asked what happened, Leah shook her head, repeating all of the events that had happened----leaving out the part of what Matthew had done to her. She didn'tw ant to think about it, and she found it rather easy to skim over, making the story flow gently even without that huge chunk of the story. She frowned gently, "Where are we going to put Eric?"

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric slumped against Mark, his body weight supported by the man's structure. Mark quickly took Eric from Leah, knowing that the teenage girl was smaller and weighed less than Eric, and that it would be hard to support him for very long. Eric's eyes closed, not bothering to listen. He didn't want to hear it again. Not ever again.
When Leah had finished speaking, Mark's eyes held a shard of anger, though he was mostly concerned about the two. In the church, he was looked up to as a leader, though the actual leaders were also present. "My cot... You'll be safe here, but dont go outside. Not until I say so." Mark didn't bother telling Leah why, but he started moving Eric's body over to his small cot across the large room.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah nodded, thanking Mark with nothing but a gaze when he took Eric's weight off of her. She looked around the room, taking in the slightly familiar scent. It felt like--and looked like--heaven compared to where she'd just been. Leah plopped down on the floor beside the cot when Eric was lied down on it, more tired than she'd ever been in her entire life. She stared at Mark quizically, but was too tired and sore to bother asking any questions. "You're going to get him help, right...?" Leah asked, concerned. "I have some money..." Leah stretched and yawned, covering her mouth with her hand.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Within seconds, Eric had fallen into a heavy unconciousness, that he wouldn't wake out of soon. Mark turned from him, after covering the boy's body up with a thin wool blanket, seeing Leah sitting on the ground. She had dark circles under her eyes, looking as she could sleep for days. Grabbing a rolled up sleeping bag that was near him, Mark unrolled it and layed it down on the ground, patting its soft surface. "You need to rest Leah. I'll take care of Eric. As soon as we can get help for him, he'll go." He gave her a tired, yet kind smile, before looking to the door. Mark was still slighty in shock of what had happened to the two of them, but he was reminded once again how violent it was in the suberbs of the city, deep in the heart of it. He leaned down, placing heavy hands on Leah's shoulders, before looking her straight in the eyes. "Are you alright?"

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah's gaze flickered to Eric, staring at his sleeping features. He looked less peaceful than he used to when he slept--a sight she'd remembered very well from the days where they were happy; with Mrs. Quinn and the icecream shop... Leah shook her head, getting rid of the thoughts. She smiled wearily and crawled over to the sleeping back, sitting on it and rubbing her eyes, jumping slightly when she felt Mark's hands on her shoulders. Leah's first thought was to Matthew, but she held back a shudder and nodded weakly, "Yeah, I'm fine.. Don't worry about it." Leah smiled lopsidedly, trying not to betray the emotions that were churning inside of her.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
When Leah stated that she was alright, Mark reluctantly looked away. "You're sure?" He asked softly, his dark brown eyes shining with concern. Eric didn't stir, lying so still on the bed. Only his rising and falling chest gave away that he was breathing at all, but Mark knew that he would be fine. He needed medical care, but that would have to wait a little while. The room was quiet, hushed voices gently speaking in the distance. All attention was drawn towards the threesome, Eric's injuries catching the attention of most of the dwellers. Either way, Mark didn't care. He moved away from Leah's side, before standing and shaking his head.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
[ it's fine ]
Leah's smile faded, her true emotions picking at her. She sighed heavily and bit her lip, deciding that she wouldn't tell Mark the whole truth. She honestly didn't want to talk about it very much, but if Mark pressed her, it probably wouldn't take much to get it from her. She was tired and sore and unhappy. She was worried about Eric. "I could be better," Leah said, sighing and laying back onto the sleeping bag. She turned on her side as Mark got up, so she could still see him. Leah couldn't hold his gaze for very long, and she curled herself up in the fetal position underneath the sleeping bag's cover, shuddering slightly at the memories she was bringing to the front of her mind about Matthew. She wished Mark would leave her to rest.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
(I'm going to skip till morning, lol. This is where the new boy should come in... I'm sad now, just thinking about it. )':)
~~~~
When morning came, Eric was still asleep. Mark was dozing lightly on a sleeping bag not far from the pair, but he was far enough away to give them all some personal space. Eric's backpack was near his cot, as Mark had picked it up on the sidewalk, where Eric must have gotten attacked by the man, 'Blake'. Eric's chest rose and fell with each breath, his fingers trembling slightly. He wasn't aware of where he was, but only the fact that pain was spreading to all parts of his body, and that he didn't know why.
(He'll go to the hospital soon.)
Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
[ all righty. are you playing the new guy...? ]
[ your character? if not, I will edit my post. ^^ ]
When Leah woke up, her eyes were crusted over in a rather disgusting manner. She rubbed her eyes, getting rid of the...well, whatever it was called, off of her eyes. She ran--or rather, attempted to--her hand through her hair, which was a matted mess. She let herself out of the sleeping bag and crawled over to her backpack and grabbing her brush, running it through her hair with more difficulty than she would've liked. It took her a few minutes of rummaging around in her bag before she finally located her cell phone, and she flipped it open. Leah gaped at what time it was, knowing she had to move. It was 9:50, and she had to get to work to see if she got the job as a barista at the coffee shop! Leah sprang to her feet, getting her last pair of clean clothes before rushing to the women's room, hurriedly changing, tossing her old clothes on her backpack and walking speedily to the door, accidentally bumping into somebody. She looked up and smiled weakly, "Oh, I'm sorry!"
Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Mark stirred as soon as Leah was up, but he didn't say anything. She hurridly combed her hair, the room nearly empty. As she made her way to the womens room, Mark propped himself up on his elbow and looked at Eric, who's mouth was slightly open as he slept. Pushing himself to his feet, Mark stretched, trying to get rid of the kinks in his neck and back. He would do anything for Eric, and that also meant letting the boy take his only bed. He suddenly heard Leah apologizing, and looked up to see a boy making his way into the church. Mark knew the kid, as he hung around often. Jason was the pasters son, who came around with his father to check up on things. Jason stepped backwards, giving the girl an apologetic look. "No, my bad. Sorry." He gave her a slightly lopsided smile, before stepping out of the way and ushering her through. "Go ahead."
Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah smiled nervously at the kid, whom she'd never seen before. She hesitated a moment before stepping around him, "Uhh, see you around, I guess?" Leah said, very unsure of herself. She picked up where she left off and jogged through the church doors and outside. Leah was wondering who the guy was as she made her way to the coffee shop that was on the edge of the street, smiling when she entered the shop, going up to the barista she'd seen yesterday. "Hey. Wondering what the job application came out as...?" Leah smiled, rather confused.
Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Jason's lips curved into a pleasent smile, his heart seeming to speed up a tiny bit. "Yeah. Later." He felt the girl brush past him, quickly jogging down the sidewalk and out of sight. He didn't know who she was, but he was suddenly interested in finding out. Making his way into the room, he looked around, noticing that most of the people were gone. They only had a few residents that stayed here all the time, and one of them was Mark. Looking anxiously around, Jason spotted Mark and started to hurry over, narrowing his eyes when he saw the teen boy lying on his cot. "Mark, what's going on?" Mark turned, his eyes worried. "Thank God Jason, I was hoping you or you're father would come down. It's-" He turned, gesturing to Eric's limp form. "It's him- He needs to get to the hospital immedietly."
Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah smiled when she heard she'd gotten the job. "You'll start your work tomorrow at twelve. You'll work until three." Leah smiled and said thanks. The woman gave her her uniform. Leah decided it'd be best to go back outside and to the church. She hoped that Eric would be able to get his treatment soon. Leah decided she'd just walk back to the church and take her time. Mark would take care of Eric, she knew that he would. Mark was a trustworthy man. Leah shoved her hands in her pockets, staring at the ground, occasionally looking up and around her. It took her a good hour to get from the church, back to the church, and she eagerly let herself back into the church's cozy walls. Leah stretched and stared around. The room was virtually empty, which made it quiet and nice. It would be a good time to relax.
Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric finally awoke to the faint sounds of a heart rate moniter. The sound was all to familiar, he had heard it far to many times. Though his eyes were closed, his foggy brain could make out where he was by the distinct feeling of the hospital gown on his body, the crisp white sheets pulled up to his neck. The sting of an iv in his wrist made him squint, opening his eyes, taking in the all to familiar scent of fresh cleaners and alchahol. Groaning slightly, he managed to pry his eyes open, feeling as if he had a weight pressing down onto his chest. It was hard to breath, and he was alone in the room. What had happened? Why was he here? The only thing he could remember was Leah, but he didn't understand why he was remembering her. Even her face seemed foggy, as if he couldn't quite place who she was. He strongly felt that he was responsible for her however, and propped himself up on his elbows, rewarded in a sharp pain that sent him sprawling back against the pillows. "Agh!" He cried out, clutching his shoulder. His yell made a nurse hurry in, looking concerned.
Jason glanced up at the sound of a door being opened, his eyes landing on a slender figure. The person looked familiar, and he quickly placed her as the girl he had seen earlier. Pushing himself up, he gave her a friendly smile and strode towards her, the room all but empty. "Hello again."
Leah looked up, "Hmm?" She asked, then she noticed it was the boy she'd ran into earlier. She gave him a kind smile, looking him over for a moment. she thought it was interesting how he was one to notice her and say hello within five minutes of finding her. Leah shrugged it off, taking it as a sign of friendliness. After all, everybody in the church was friendly. "Oh, hey," Leah said. "Didn't catch your name, by the way," Leah said. "I'm Leah." Leah smiled gently, not quite sure what to say to him. His presence made her feel nervous for some reason. Maybe it was because she was wary of men now---she had every reason to be.
The girl looked up, and Jason gave her a quirky smile. "Hey. Jason, my name's Jason." He smiled when she quickly introduced herself. Nodding slightly, his dark chocolate eyes were warm and friendly, and he stuck out his hand for her to shake. "I'm the pastor's son... So I'm here alot."
Leah nodded, smiling, "Well, it's nice to meet you, Jason," Leah said, her smile widening a bit more.
