Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Jacob gave Leah a kind, understanding smile, before hearing her out. It wasn't that he didn't feel bad for Eric; as he was hurt, but now he was given an advantage as Eric was immoble for the time being, and he wasn't going to be able to stop Jacob from becoming closer to Leah. Perhaps the boy only wanted a friend, perhaps he wanted more. Either way, he was glad to have Eric stuck in his room, and gave Leah a nod. "Outside? Out of the hospital?" He gave her a quirky grin, before taking her arm and guiding him gently in front of him, starting towards the hospitals main doors.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah was happy he was so understanding. It felt good to vent to somebody---especially somebody that would actually care to listen to her. She nodded, "Yes, outside the hospital. Where else?" Leah looked at him quizically for a moment before he took her arm and gently guided her towards the doors. She felt a pang of loss as she remembered Eric, leaving him in the room. She was afraid Jason's father would tell him she went off with Jason. That'd probably kill Eric. She left without even saying goodbye! Leah pushed the thougths aside. He wasn't supposed to care---she, correction---wasn't supposed to care anymore. She'd screwed everything up, and now she was paying the price. She finally got the thoughts away from her mind as she pushed open the hospital doors, greeted immediately by a sea of people.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric sat in the room, alone and waiting. He didn't know where Leah had gone, but he was anxious and wondering what had happened to her. Glancing up, he heard footsteps draw near his door, but only a nurse passed, making Eric look down and shake his head, running a hand through his hair. Where was she!?
Jason soon reached the doors, Leah opening one. They moved outside of the hospital, where Jason quickly dropped her arm and stepped to the side, away from her so she would have some room to breath. "I'm not sure where to go really.. But we should probably stay close-by, I'll probably have to leave soon. Maybe we can give you a ride back to the church?" Jason gave Leah a lopsided grin, almost like he had practiced it for the exact moment.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah allowed herself to be ushered out, and she took in a deep breath, listening to Jason's proposal. She decided it'd be best, as well, to stay as close to the hospital as possible. She was curious, however, as to why Jason suddenly had to leave on so many occassions. It was like he was his father's personal manservant. It was weird, and Leah found it slightly unsettling. "Sounds good, but I'll probably come back to Eric's room after this, so I won't need a ride back to the chuch. But thank you. And hold on a moment, would you? I have to make a quick call, then I'll be right back and we can go do... whatever." Leah smiled and walked a few paces away from Jason, pulling out her cell phone and recalling the number of the phone at the hospital; the one which Eric had called her on earlier.

Eric jumped when he heard the phone ring, his gaze darting over to where the device was lying on the bedside table. Quickly reaching for it, he grasped it in his fingers and quickly brought it up to his ear, the spiral cord stretching. "Hello?" He frowned slightly, hearing static for a few seconds before it cleared up. "Hello?" Shaking his head, he glanced to the door to see a broad man coming in, followed by a juvious looking Mark.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah was glad Eric picked up so soon. She didn't want to keep Jason waiting for a long time. It was staticy at first, and she was forced to remove the phone away from her ear until the unsettling noise died down slightly. Once it had, she sighed deeply and put her cell back up to her ear, "Hey, it's Leah. I just wanted to say I'm going to go out and get lunch, but I'll be back in an hour or so. Call me back if you get permission to get out of the hospital today, okay? I'll be over as soon as I can. Talk to you later. Bye," Leah hung up without a second thought and dropped the phone casually into her pocket before jogging back over to Jason. "Well, that's over and done with. Where would you like to go?"

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric frowned when he heard Leah's voice over the phone, and he tried to cut in when she started to speak. "Wait, wha-" Trying to get a word in edgewise, she quickly hung up before he could tell her what he was thinking. "Leah!" He called out, before the phone went dead. Slamming the device back onto the hook, he set his jaw angrily and turned dark eyes onto Mark and the new man that had entered the room only moments before. Closing his eyes, Eric wished he was anywhere but there, anywhere other than in the hospital and away from Leah. Though it had been terrible when the pair were together in the room alone, Eric couldn't bear to not know where she was, as Matthew or Blake still could have been free.
Jacob flashed Leah a smile as soon as she returned, glancing at the phone in her hand. She quickly put it away, before turning back to him. "Not sure- There's an ice cream shop down the street, along with a cafe. That's all I know."

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah ignored what Eric was saying. She was just going out to lunch.....well, sort of. She walked back over to Jason with a slight hop in her step. Her heart clenched beyond imagination as he said the icecream shop. She kept the emotion off of her face, however, and nodded. "If that cafe is on the edge of the street, I think not. I'm going to work there. I'm not starting until tomorrow, so I can't get you a discount," Leah smiled. "So..what about icecream...?"

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
"You're going to be working there, eh?" Jacob gave Leah a tentative smile, small dimples forming on his cheeks. Shaking his head, he ran a hand through his honey blonde hair and glanced back over at Leah, his bright blue eyes looking into hers. Unlike Eric, his features were open and honest, showing his emotions clearly. The difference between the two young men was worlds apart, but Jacob didn't see how that would be a bad thing. He gave a nod to the girl by his side, followed by a warm smile he hoped would be welcoming. "Maybe I'll have to stop in sometime- And yes, Icecream sounds great." He slipped his hands into the pockets of his jeans, hooking his thumbs over the top.

Leah nodded. She shrugged and smiled gently. "Cool. Ice cream's nice," Leah put her hands in her back pockets then smiled. He seemed so much different than Eric--and definately in a good way. She didn't think he'd ever be able to replace the old Eric she'd once known and loved. Loved so, so very much. Leah pulled some her hair behind her ear and turned towards the ice cream shop. "Let's go."

(I feel bad for Eric, lol)
Jason smiled once again, and nodded once. Leah had said she wouldn't mind icecream, and so they were going to get icecream. He started down the sidewalk away from the hospital, Leah near his side. His arm brushed against her slightly, before he stepped away so they would each have their own personal space. "So..." Jason struggled to find something to talk about, his eyes open and sparkling slightly. His overly perfect features were somewhat taught, as he glanced behind him nervously.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah moved slightly to the side, feeling hsi arm brush against her. She didn't get the same tingling sensation that she did with Eric. It was sad, but at the moment she wasn't looking for a love interest. She was waiting to see if Eric would accept her. It was unlikely, from what she saw in her mind, but at least she had Jason to be with while she deciphered her feelings. Leah smiled gently and stared at her feet, not noticing his odd and slightly antzy behaviour. She shrugged, "So..." she repeated. "Sooo...."

"So... this is the part of the conversation no one knows what to talk about." Jason flashed her a guilty smile, before raising his eyebrows and shaking his head. His hands were still positioned in his pockets, and he cocked his head to the side as they rounded a corner. "You planning on staying here long? I mean... in the city-" Jason broke off abrupty, sneaking a side glance at Leah. "Dont mean to pry.."

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah shrugged, "I don't know when I'm leaving. I'll probably be here a while, considering I've gotten a job now. I might leave if Eric doesn't...well, to be blunt about it, act less cold towards me." Leah "Otherwise I'll be here a while. You're the only other person I know that's relatively around my age. Though I don't know your age---you look like it." Leah smiled sheepishly.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Jason frowned at her words, then gave what he hoped was an understanding smile. His brow furrowed slightly, he cocked his head to the side as they continued to walk forward, sneaking a side glance at Leah. "Why is he acting...cold?" Jason frowned again, chewing slightly on his bottom lip. He didn't know that that was the same thing Eric did when he was thinking, so didn't understand the simalarity. His style was almost completley different from Eric, as was his personality. With a wide, honest face, he wore clothes that were in style, but were still to standard. He didn't have any air of mystery about him, unlike Eric who was full of it, wearing dark clothes. Eric was like a puzzle you had to put together; but if you didn't put it together right, the result couldn't be undone.
(Hope that made sense, lol.)

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah sighed heavily, taking a wary glance at Jason. She saw him chewing his bottom lip and her heart clenched, and she immediately jerked her head back in front of her, staring sadly at the sidewalk. "I don't know; I guess it's because I sort of..." Leah trailed off, shaking her head, "I guess it's because I sort of left him...We've had a bad history with my parents and his father and Matthew and Blake..." Leah shook her head. "I said sorry, but ever since he's been... dismissive of me."

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Jason frowned at Leah's words. He didn't understand why exactly she had left Eric, but he wasn't going to pry and as unnecicarry questions that might make the girl more hesitant to speak to him about such matters. He gave a slight nod, hoping that it was enough to let her know he understood, though he was inwarly puzzled, yearning to find out more about this whole situation. "I'm glad you came though." He blurted out, before glancing away and lowering his gaze to the sullen grey sidewalk under their feet. "I never had anyone to talk to before this." He turned his head and gave her a quirky smile, his lucid blue eyes momentarrily flashing.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
"It's nice to have somebody to trust," Leah murmured. "Apparently I am not one of those people. My love blinded me and I left without thinking of what the consequences were. And here I am. Though I am also glad I met you," Leah turned and looked up to him, smiling weakly. Her heart crunched painfully in her chest. It was amazing how much Eric and Jason were alike. Though their appearances were completely different---and most likely their personalities, too---they had a few resemblences with each other. "So..." Leah asked quietly, "Do you have somebody you trust in your life?"

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Jason gave a halfhearted shrug, his hands slipping deeper into the pockets of his jeans. He wasn't sure what all to say, but his expression was slightly confused and sympathetic at the same time. He shook his head as Leah spoke, but didn't dare sneak a side glance at her. Not now anyway. "Eric doesent understand. Us guys can be hardheaded, and I'm telling you from experience." Once again, he shone a lopsided smile, but his blue green gaze remained positioned on the sidewalk ahead of them. Shrugging slightly, he pursed his lips and thought of what to say. "I suppose. I tend to trust people easily."

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah shrugged nonchallantly, "With all my experience," Leah shuddered involuntarily, shoving her hands deeper into her back pockets. "I don't trust. I'm inwardly hitting myself for putting myself in a potentionally dangerous situation. Not that you would do anything... but I've had some pretty bad experiences with men." Leah frowned, her face flushing as she remembered Matthew hovering over hers, herself bare-chested. She shook her head, "But it's not like a priest's son would be a womanizer." Leah smiled in attempt to jest slightly.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Again, Jason was stumped by Leah's words, not knowing what he was supposed to say. He was warry to respond, as he didn't want to seriously piss her off; not when they seemed to be getting along just fine. He parted his lips to speak, but frowned when he realized he had nothing to say that would be fit for the topic, nor the occasion. Right on time, they rounded the corner and reached the ice cream shop, Jason thankful it had been planned the way it had. He gave Leah a smile, before beckoning her forward. "Here we are, I'll buy."

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah allowed the comfortable silence to lapse between them. Just in time, as if it had been planned, the icecream shop came in front of them. Leah's heart ached as she remembered her first time getting icecream--ever. And that had been with Eric. She felt like crying as she remembered how she'd left him in the hospital bed. She shook her head, "Thanks," she said, smiling.

(I guess she did kind of leave him there, eh? xD)
Jason managed a nod, before he ushered her forward. Striding to the door before she could reach it however, he placed his hand on the metal handle and opened the glass door. Waiting for her to step inside, he gave her a bright smile and glanced inwards.
(Whoa.... I lost my muse, so sorry.)

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah smiled and went into the room, the smell of the ice-cold goodness reaching her nose, vaguely mixed with the smell of the waffle cones and banana splits. It smelled heavenly, and she only wished Eric and Mrs. Quinn were there with her, instead of Jordan. But when she really stopped and considered it, Jordan gave her a hidden sense of confidence... Like she shouldn't be afraid to do what needed to be done. She liked that, even though the idea that he had that affect on her startled her quite a bit. She liked him, nevertheless, and appreciated his company. Despite the fact he was a priest's son, Leah could tell that there was something underneath the surface... Something she just couldn't place yet.
Shaking herself from her completely and utterly pointless thoughts--as well as ridding herself of thoughts of Eric, Mrs. Quinn, and especially the times she and Eric had shared together, filled with love and joy and passion...--and waited for Jordan to come into the ice-cream shop. She pulled some of her brightly-dyed hair out of her face and sighed, her heart not allowing her to completely forget Eric. But she needed a release; and little did she know it yet, but she was seeking for it in Jordan, silently and undetectably needing and wanting him to fill in the void that Eric had left; that she had left.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric was alone, once again. It was always this way, now it seemed. After a breif visit from the paster, Mark and him had left the room and were now striding up and down the halls, deep in a very soulful conversation that Eric prefered to stay out of. The room was nearly silent, only the sound of squeeking bed wheels in the hall outside, perhaps the quiet, steady beat of his heart moniter that broke the silence. In the distance, he also heard the deep voices of people talking, hushed and quiet. It was times like these he felt completley alone, like there was no one to fill the gap. He had found the one person before, only once. She had been the one thing he needed to survive. He had lived off of her, always wanting her in his arms, always wishing to kiss her soft lips. It was no more. It would never be the same. Not now. Not ever. Not even with another girl, for Eric knew his heart had its boundaries. It could only love so much, before it stopped loving all together. Raising his wrist, he trailed his fingers across the scars which criss crossed across his flesh. He had been told that in time, they would heal. They hadn't. They never would. He would always be this way, broken, unloved, wounded. Unwanted. She had left him, and now was already flaunting herself about. Having been staring out the window, Eric had watched both Leah and a boy walking down the street, engaged in a friendly conversation. He would give anything, anything to be able to have that once again, the wonderful experience of having somebody to talk to, somebody to understand. It would never happen again. He might as well just die now, while he had the chance.
It was not without thought of Eric did Jason talk quietly with Leah. He seemed to always be on Jason's mind, as if they were being insignificantly watched. He almost felt as if he was guilty, calling her away from his side, and leaving him alone. Too bad, he would manage. If he no longer cared about her, somebody had to. Jason didn't know the whole story, nor did he want to. Inwardly, he was afraid that he would be turned against Leah if the truth was revealed; as he had a terrible sense of right and wrong, that had been driven into his skull every sunday morning at church. "Come on." Leah walked into the shop, and Jason smiled broadly.
