Leah found a glass of water and had some ice in it. She smiled and thanked the nurse before returning to Eric's room and sitting by the bedside, holding out the glass for him. "Here," Leah said, smiling gently. Her smile lit up her face as she remembered the old times they'd had when she'd come to the hospital and laid down beside him, staying with him in the hospital bed until dawn, and staying even past then. It seemed like they would never achieve what they once had, and Leah's mind wandered to Jason. He'd had to leave quite suddenly, and he seemed to be very obedient and nice. He seemed like the ideal son for a pastor. Leah held back a yawn and asked, "So you're all fixed up now, huh? When are they going to let you out of the hospital?"

After Leah had left the room, Eric leaned back on the pillows. A frown cascaded over his features, eyes no longer care-free and happy. They were filled with a slight hesitance and longing, but yet he could do nothing more about the matter. He immedietly glanced up as he heard soft footsteps, Leah's slender figure soon coming into view in the doorway. Raising his chin, he blinked once and raised his good arm to grasp the cup of cold water, his limb feeling almost like it was made out of lead. Wincing, he took the cup from her, his hard fingers brushing against hers slightly. The feeling sent electric shivers skittering down his arm, and a slight pink flush tinted his cheeks.
"Thank you. I dont know really... Soon anyway. I'm not really that hurt."
Eric tried to keep a pained expression off of his face, but barley managed it. Shaking his head, he brought the glass up to his lips, the outside building up with condensation.

Leah curled her fingers slightly as her hand retreated from his touch. It was warm and sent remeberance into her, bringing back all the better memories of their time together. She wanted nothing more than to kiss him and tell him everything was all right, and that it'd all go back to normal, but she couldn't. She wasn't sure if he'd accept her again, after what she'd done, and she couldn't promise everything would go back to normal. Leah folded her hands neatly in her lap, though rather awkwardly. "So..." Leah commented after he'd finished speaking.

After taking several sips of the water, her turned, placing the glass back down onto the bedside table, his eyes momentarily moving to look at Leah's face. She looked like she was deep in thought, before she clasped her hands in her lap, and Eric pushed himself upwards once again, finally starting to wake up and get his wits about him. "Do you know where Mark is?" He gave her a light smile, though it was slightly tainted with worry and a small bit of aprehension. "Thank you for coming..." He lowered his gaze, his eyes lucid and dark before raising it once again to look at Leah.
"I'm suprised you did come..."

Leah stared at him for a moment, catching his gaze. She averted her eyes and shook her head, "No, I didn't see him. Maybe he went back to the church...?" Leah frowned, and her mind wandered. Jason, the pastor's son. Leah shrugged and leaned back on the bed, her head resting against the comfy bed and her feet propped up on the bed, crossed in midair. She sighed contentedly.

Eric's eyes dropped slightly, his heart panging longingly. He couldn't look at Leah, wouldn't look at her. Not when he remembered so clearly what had been between them only days before, the love that had been so strong inside of him; the same love that had seemed it would never run out, that he would love her without end. Averting his eyes from hers, he balled up his hands into fists, his hair dark and ruffled atop his head. Not understanding where Mark would be, Eric lifted his head and looked up as he heard soft footsteps, his eyes lighting up when he saw who it was.

Leah propped her head up with her arms, staring at the ceiling. Millions of things were running through her mind, and she wished she could curl up beside him and hold him close, or have him hold her close. She propped herself up on her elbows when she heard some footsteps. She rubbed her eyes momentarily. This hospital was more comfortable than the sleeping bag at the church. She yawned and stretched, sitting up completely and stretching.

Eric was aware of Leah, who was shifting in the chair beside the bed. His eyes were drawn to the door however, before he shook his head and blinked once. A broad smile split out over his features, and a chuckle passed his lips. "Mark, I was wondering when you would show up!" Raising a hand, he ran it through his hair and grinned at Mark, who was looking at him as if he was crazy. "You're doped up again Eric... Them stupid doctors dont know that you're body will heal with time, not god damn sleeping pills." Mark stooped in the rooms doorway, passing a few nurses and making his way towards the bed. "Hello Leah." He gave her a slight smile, and a nod.

Leah found it nice that Eric had such a strong bond and friendship with Mark. It made her feel accomplished that even if Eric wouldn't accept her love, he had somebody who would love and care for him no matter what. Leah smiled at Mark when he said hello, and she waved a bit, rather shyly, though she wasn't shy or nervous. She ignored the conversation that was going on between Eric adn Mark. She didn't want to inturrupt anything, and she pulled some hair behind her ear quietly.

"Mark, you got to get me out of here."
Eric gestured to the cast on his wrist, before giving Mark a desperate gaze. "Seriously, I'm going to die if I ever come into a hospital again. It's just a broken hand, not really that bad." He pushed himself upright, so his back was pressed against the fluffy white pillows. Mark grinned, shaking his head. "I'll do my best, but the doctors make the calls; not me." Eric gave him a slight eye roll and turned away, glancing over to where Leah was brushing a strand of long hair behind her ear. She looked like she was out of place sitting there, and Eric pursed his lips. "You... You hungry Leah?" He felt awkward talking to her, after what he had so harshly seen the day before. The image of Matthew leaning over her bare body flashed into his mind, his cheeks starting to flame.

Leah couldn't help but smile at Eric's persistant attitude. It was a normal thing for him; she'd learned that much about him. She chuckled at Mark's response, looking over to Eric when he asked her if she was hungry. "Uh, no, I'm fine..." Leah said, noticing Eric's cheeks changing a vivid color. She was curious as to what he was thinking, but she quickly shrugged it off and pretended not to notice. Though her mind was rather curious as to what would make him blush so suddenly. He'd only asked her if she was hungry, what was so embarassing about that....?

Unknown to Leah, Eric felt as if he could never look her in the eye again. Inwardly shuddering, he pushed the groutesque thoughts out of his mind, trying to focus on what was happening right here and now. He had a slight headache, a throbbing pain at the base of his temples. "Can you ask?" Eric asked Mark weakly, turning away from Leah so his blush wouldn't grow deeper. Mark immedietly noted the change in the teens behaviour, and the man pursed his lips, nodding once. "I'll go see what's happening. Leah," He paused and turned to her, "Can keep you company. I'm sure she's an angel to have around." Without another word, Mark turned and strode out the door, having to duck slightly to avoid a collision between his forhead and the doorframe.

Leah turned to Mark, putting her legs up criss-crossed on the bed, her hands holding gently onto her ankles. She smiled as Mark nodded, saying something, and she turned her head to look at Eric when Mark said her name, and for a second she thought he wanted her to come with him---something she would've willingly accepted. It was uncomfortably awkward when she was left alone with Eric. Her feelings for him conflicted with her thoughts of being trappd Matthew, knowing that Eric was only in this situation because she'd been stupid enough to leave without him around. Finally feeling like she owed it to him, Leah said, "Eric, I'm sorry," She shook her head, staring at her feet intentionally, "I left the first time because I didn't want something like this to happen again. I shouldn't have followed you, I only cause trouble..." Leah bit her lip, holding back a few tears.

When Mark left the room, silence rained heavily upon the pair. Eric winced at the tension, and he then realized where the expression 'cutting through tension like a knife' came from; he felt it. Chewing on his lower lip thoughtfully, he managed to stay straightfaced for a little while, before Leah started to speak. He probably could have done without her apology, seeing as he already knew where this would lead. He wasn't sure if he was ready for another heart churning conversation, as he was too confused about his own emotions towards her to try and put them into words. Eric also had a feeling that if he tried, it wouldn't come out right and everything would be disasterous. Him and Leah already seemed worlds apart, and he couldn't risk making the gap even wider. Shaking his head, the boy lifted his one good hand and ran it through his dirty dark hair, pursing his lips. He didn't know what to say, let alone how to act. "There is nothing to be sorry for..."

Leah took in a deep breath, turning to face him for a moment, her gaze unwavering. She chuckled shortly at his comment, but decided that it wasn't worth arguing about what she should and shouldn't be apologizing for. Leah pulled some more hair behind her ear and let out a deep sigh, falling back onto the bed, making sure not to lay down too close to him. She stared up at the ceiling, wondering how he felt towards her. Her heart clenched painfully as she remembered what they had, then had it obscured by the fact Eric had seen her nearly raped by Matthew, and she furrowed her brow. Her face reddened slightly, but not because he'd seen her. It was because she was extermely embarassed and ashamed about how he'd had to watch it all happen.

The heat of Leah's body made a tremor start down Eric's skin, and as she turned to look at him, he felt her warm breath on the tanned flesh of his neck. Forcing his emotions back down, he tried not to let them show on his face, or in the depths of his nearly black eyes. Shaking his head, deafening silence filled his ears, until he cleared his throat and shattered the quiet moment. When he turned to look back at Leah once again, her face was a deeping pink, and he wondered what he had done to cause it. Looking down and away from her, he blinked once and tried to think of something reasonable to say.

Leah folded her arms behind her head and continued to stare up at the ceiling, pushing away all thoughts of Matthew, Blake, and her father. And Mike. She stared blankly at the ceiling, lost in her own thoughts. She turned her head up to Eric and patted his hand gently, "Well, I'm sure Mark will come back soon. Even if they don't give you permisson to leave, you can still try and get out," Leah teased, putting her arm behind her head again and staring up at the ceiling once more. She sighed thickly, "This is the worst deja vu I've ever experienced," Leah murmured to herself, wanting nothing more than to curl up next to Eric and fall asleep on his chest. Just like old times. But even if they did get back together, it was unlikely it'd ever be the same.

Leah was the one to break the silence, and for that Eric was grateful for. He pursed his lips as she spoke, but a smile didn't come. The teen wondered how easy it had been to smile before; how carefree he had been when he and Leah had been together. The time they had actually been happy seemed to be millenia's ago, and Eric had already seemed to forget how easy it had been to smile, to be happy. His feelings were heavy and sorrowful, and now he looked over, to see that Leah was moving to pat his hand with hers. Instinctivley, he flinched and nearly pulled away from her gentle touch, no longer finding it soothing or comforting in the least. Everytime they were in the same room together, he couldn't think straight, everything about her reminding him what had been; and what would probably never be again. Giving a stiff nod, he moved his hand to his stomach, resting it there as he waited for Mark to come back into the room. Eric knew that the man understood what was happening between the pair, even if nobody had told them. Mark had a sharp eye and could usually spot things that others missed, and he was always watching for Eric's saftey, though Eric didn't really know what he had done to receive such a favor.

Leah, noticing the tension between them, sat up and looked around. She wanted to leave now. She didn't know what she could do to make it any less awkward. She hid her face from him, biting her lip. Why couldn't it be the same as it used to be? Leah stared at her shoes, frowning and getting off the bed. "I'm going to go to the bathroom... I'll be right back." Truthfully, Leah had no need to use the restroom. She only needed to get out of that room. She smiled gently at him, before moving out of the room and down the hall, towards the restrooms, but instead she walked past it, sitting on one of the benches in the waiting room and plopping herself down in one of the chairs, cupping her face in her hands.

Eric winced at the heavy silence, before Leah mumbled she was going to the restroom. As soon as Mark came back, Eric was going to rage on him for leaving the two of them alone. Still, it was all he could do to watch Leah go. He had a good idea that the bathroom wasn't where she was going, as he knew her well enough. She was probably just as nervous and taught as he was, and he watched her dissapear from his view. Leaning his head back against the pillow, Eric closed his dark eyes and tried to relax, though his muscles were taught and rigid.

Jacob moved down the hallway, his father behind him. Doing his duty, the pastor had decided to come see if Eric was alright, and Jacob had been all for it. He figured that this was where Leah was, as she had left the church almost an hour before in a hurry. Despite the fact he would be stuck with Eric also, Jacob had decided to come along anyway. Stopping at the front desk, they were quickly given the number for Erics room, and starting to the elevator door.

Leah looked up a few moments later, watching people come into the hospital. She had to shake her head when she thought she saw Jason and his father come into the hospital. She squinted and stared at Jason, in disbelief. Why was he here? She could understand why his father was here---he was the pastor, and Eric stayed in the church he ran. But Jason? He didn't seem like the kind of kid that would come to the hospital just to see a sick person--despite how nice he came across to be. Getting off her feet, Leah tentatively walked a few steps towards him and asked, "Jason? What are you doing here?"

Jason stiffened as he heard a familiar voice, shuffling along behind his father as they made their way closer to the elavators open doors. "Dad, I'll meet you there." Clarifying, Jason turned around and searched the mass of people that were in the waiting room, until they found the slim form of Leah starting to make her way towards him, looking slightly confused. A pleased smile broke out on Jasons face and he strode towards her, stopping within a few feet. "Hey... I wasn't expecting to see you here." That was a lie, if he had ever heard one. His stomach churned slightly, and he glanced behind him to see his father gazing at the pair, a slight frown cast across his features. Soon though, the elevator doors closed and the two were left alone.

Leah squinted at him suspiciously at his statement, but quickly shrugged it off and smiled warmly. "Yeah... I was just coming to visit Eric." Leah frowned and let out a thick sigh. "Not the best idea I've ever had," Leah admitted, her heart panging longingly. "So, I guess your dad was coming to see Eric and you just tagged along?" Leah smiled weakly. "Mark was going to go get the doctors to see if Eric would be let out today...." Leah dropped her gaze to the floor, "Not that you should care or anything." She looked up at him again.

Jacob frowned at the look Leah was giving him, but she quickly flashed him a warm smile that caught his attention. Craning his neck, he looked behind him to make sure his dad wasn't watching, before turning back to Leah. "Yeah, pretty much. I didn't have anything else to do- so I decided to come here." He gave her a kind smile, before pursing his lips at her comment. "You guys not getting along very well?" He appeared to be concerned, but it was for his information only that he was questioning her in the matter. "I know what that feels like." Giving her an understanding look, he rolled his eyes. "Either way, I'm here if you want to talk."

Leah shook her head, rubbing her temples in an exasperated manner, "We used to get along just fine," Leah murmured. "More than just find, you know... But now... I'm not even sure he wnats me to be around him anymore." Leah shook her head, then rubbed her arm nervously. "No, no, it's fine. I don't want to burden you with my problems. But maybe we could go somewhere else...? I'd be fine with getting out of here..." Leah said, casting a melencholy glance towards the elevator door. "Anywhere but here."
