Leah frowned slightly. He didn’t seem to be buying it. When she saw him glance over at the crowbar, she bit her lip. Before she knew it, he’d shoved her harshly against the wall. That was one knock. She’d just raised her fist to rap it two more times to alert Eric, when Matthew grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her back, bringing back the horrible memories of when she was cuffed to the bed in another—yet equally dark—room. She shook her head and said in a shaky, uncertain voice, her body frozen, her other hand gripping at the hand over her throat, “I came so you could do what you want to me in exchange for the promise of Eric’s safety. Not to be killed!” Leah was shaking a bit, her mind racing to quickly come up with an intelligent ‘Plan B.’
Her heart was racing wildly; the awful memories of the past haunted her. Yet again, she bit and chewed at her bottom lip nervously. Maybe Eric had been right. Maybe she shouldn’t have gone. Matthew was stronger than she’d expected him to be with his injured hand. No, no, no! Leah wouldn’t be afraid. She’d prove to Eric that she was capable. Leah couldn’t keep herself from shaking, however, no matter how hard she tried to calm herself with centering breaths.
Suddenly, Leah let her knees buckle from underneath her, hoping to drag Matthew down with her. It was either that she’d take him down with her, or he would manage to get a grip on her, and she’d probably end up choking. Either way, it was worth a shot. At least Eric would be safe. Or so she hoped.

A harsh sound cracked through the air, making Eric tense. His hand was positioned on the door handle, but he didn't know what was happening. His eyes were glittering and intent, his face slightly pale. It was obvious that he wasn't feeling at his best at the moment, and he licked his dry lips in an attept to keep them from cracking open. He didn't know what the sound had been from, but it was enough to let him know Matthew had spotted Leah. Having hid one of the guns in the waist band of his pants, he gripped the other one in his hand, before throwing open the bedroom door and storming into the hallway. When he reached the doorway that Leah had most likely gone into, he kicked it open with his foot, the door slamming open and cracking against the wall. Leah was falling to the ground, throwing the hurt Matthew off balance and making him fall to the floor after her. Blake was standing nearby, and Eric trained the cocked gun on Matthew's forhead. "Dont move, or I'll kill you."

Leah smiled gently as her plan worked, throwing Matthew off of his feet, making him land unsteadily nearby her, but she was too preoccupied with trying to get her breath back than bothering to get away from the creep. After all, Eric had managed to storm in, right at that moment, and point the gun at Matthew while Leah took in deep breaths—not really because she had nearly been choked, but mostly to calm her nerves.
Blake, who was standing in the corner, froze up for a moment before chuckling and staring at Eric, whom he stood a good two heads taller. “I wouldn’t recommend that, pretty boy,” Blake said in a confident, cocky tone. It was his job to protect his boss; and though he hated Matthew with a passion (besides the fact he’d sometimes given him his own women) he wouldn’t disobey his job’s description. Believe it or not, Blake got paid a handsome amount of money. “Unless you want yourself to get killed.” Blake smirked sardonically.
Leah shook her head and whimpered, scrambling to her feet and dashing over to Eric, standing on the opposite side of him, placing herself in between Eric and Blake. “Perfect timing,” she praised him in a low voice.

Eric laughed harshly at Blake's words, seeing Leah stir in the corner of his eye. Matthew had frozen, having no weapons available at the time. Leah squirmed out of his reach, coming to stand near Erics side. The boy grabbed her arm, pushing her behind him as an act of protection. His good hand was holding the gun, so the movment caused him extreme pain to shoot up his arm, making him dizzy with it. He swayed slightly for a second or so, his vision swimming. Light exploded behind his eyelids, resulting in him not being able to see. Searing, burning pain proceeded to lick up his arm and shoulder, making him stagger backwards to regain his balance. His weakness made Matthew laugh, the man starting to push himself up off of the floor. Eric pointed the gun directly at his forhead, cocking it back. His finger teased the trigger, making Matthew stare straight at the barrel of the gun. He resulted in a slightly cross eyed expression, but it wasn't humorous at the moment. "Leah, pull up my shirt. Get the other gun. Do it now, because you're life, my life depends on it." Eric hissed instructions to Leah, quietly enough so only she could hear. His eyes flicked to Blake, giving him a hard glare, before turning back to Matthew.

Leah frowned when he used his bad hand to push her behind him. She put a hand on his shoulder, worried, when he stumbled backwards. Matthew laughed at him, causing her to grit her teeth together in anger—no, fury. She saw Matthew start to get up, and she’d taken half a step (more like an awkward, uncertain shuffle) towards him to kick him back down, but in all honesty, she was scared of what he’d do to her if he so much caught a hold of her ankle and dragged her down. Leah felt responsible for all this, but when Eric told her to retrieve the gun, she froze up. Leah shook her head vigorously, eyeing Blake suspiciously as he took a step forward, taunting her with a bloodthirsty grin on her face. “I can’t!” Leah whispered back. Leah glanced over at Matthew’s mangled yet bandaged hand, remembering what damage it had done. Despite the fact Matthew and Blake were strictly evil, there was no hope for them in the afterlife, she couldn’t bring herself to kill them. Guns were murderous weapons, and she never intended to hold one again. Her heart clenched painfully in her chest, feeling as if she was letting Eric down, “I can’t do it.” Leah murmured again, even quieter than the first time.

Eric's gun swung from one, to the other. The two men knew that he was at a disadvantage, not able to shoot both of them at the same time. When Leah promptly refused, Eric set his jaw in anger. He felt the cold metal of the handgun pressing against his side, and he narrowed his eyes, moving the gun from Matthew, to Blake who was starting to advance towards them. "Leah, get it now. If you want to get raped, and you want me to get killed, go ahead and keep doing what you're doing now, just standing there!" He wasn't afraid to be blunt with her, as the situation called for the ability. "Get the gun, NOW." Eric didn't care if she couldn't do it, he was going to make her no matter what. Even if she didn't, couldn't shoot, two guns were much better than just one. Even Eric could shoot with his injured hand, if he really needed to. That much he would do, if only to save Leah and not himself.
He didn't look at her, but he knew she was probably watching him after she declined. His jaw was set in place, his face pale. Dark circles had formed under his eyes, and exasustion was ready to claim him. Their time was limited; very limited. Matthew pushed himself up off of the floor, rising into a crouching position, and starting to advance towards them. Eric swung the gun to face him again, but had a good mind that the two men were playing with them, toying with their prey before they went in for the kill.

Post by Guest Fri Dec 02, 2011 10:11 pm

Leah bit her lip, staring nervously from Blake to Eric, who had a serious expression on his face as he opened his mouth to talk again. In all honesty, he had no idea she’d practically offered herself to be raped by Matthew as long as Eric was safe and out of harm’s way—never to be bothered by the Blake-and-Matthew pair ever again. Leah didn’t want to touch the gun. She knew inside of her, even if she had the gun, they were still doomed. She couldn’t shoot. She’d shot Matthew by accident, and now Eric wanted her to be able to shoot on purpose? She might as well just turn around and shoot herself! Heart pounding madly, Leah weighed the options. She was scared shitless, to be frank. Leah didn’t want to get raped—no, she’d sell her soul to the devil before that ever happened. And she would kill herself before ever letting Eric get killed. She’d done him enough harm already, and she didn’t want to cause anymore. But the thought of holding a gun and actually have to shoot it at somebody made her queasy and her throat seemed to swell up. She knew Matthew would easily take advantage of her weakness of not being able to hold a gun. Blake would probably try to take the weakness to his own advantage, as well. Leah had half the mind to tell Eric she just couldn’t do it, and that she’d rather sacrifice herself for him to escape, but she knew that he would be stubborn—like always—and tell her he wasn’t going to leave. The prospect that that was probably what he’d say to her made her feel a tad bit better, and she finally took in a centering breath, glaring at Blake a moment before turning to Eric, keeping her ears trained on Blake’s footsteps as she momentarily turned her back on him, and found and took the gun, before turning back to Blake and pointing it at him, her hands shaking slightly, “I’m not going to shoot it again, I hope you know,” Leah murmured to Eric, so only he could hear.

Eric didn't dare sneak a glance at Leah's face. He felt her shifting beside him, but he couldn't take his eyes off of the pair, not when they were this close. There was no way he could keep them away from the two, not now. Matthew obviously didnt think Eric was capeable of shooting, by the expression on his face. Just to prove him wrong, Eric moved the gun a centimeter to the right, squeezing the trigger with his forefinger.
The loud gunshot crackled through the air, making Matthew duck down to the ground to avoid the bullet. Eric's face was un-moving, and he stared down at Matthew.
"That could have been your head, dumb ass."
Eric stiffened as he felt Leah stir, but he breathed a sigh of relief when he felt her raise his shirt. Her slender fingers wrapped around the gun, and she slid it out of his waistband. She swung it so it was facing Blake, and Eric nodded in approval.
"That's my girl."

[ no reason to be sorry ^^ ]

Leah flinched slightly when Eric shot the gun, Matthew ducking, from the sounds of it, and the shot going through the wall. Unfortunately it hadn’t hit. Leah cocked the gun in her own hands, but she had no intention of shooting it. Maybe she’d be shaking so much she’d accidentally pull the trigger—yet again—and nail that brute of a man in the forehead. To be honest, the prospect sounded appealing to her, but Leah knew she would never be able to pull off a stunt like that, and she also had a feeling Matthew knew it, too. Blake, however, looked a bit thickheaded. He probably wouldn’t pick up on the obvious fear and apprehension that was in her eyes. “Eric,” she whispered, “I’m not really sure what you want me to do. This gun is as harmful as a dust bunny when it’s in my hands.” Leah grimaced at herself. She knew she sounded pathetic, but she wasn’t like Eric. Even if she was staring death straight in the face, she couldn’t shoot.

"Leah,"
Eric shuddered slightly, his hands trembling. It wasn't that he was afraid of shooting, but the mere force of having no sleep and trying to cope with pain, and everything else that had happened was starting to catch up with him. It seemed to be coming by the boatload, and he knew he wouldn't be able to do this for much longer. His voice was very calm and quiet, despite the situation at hand. Swallowing once, he turned his head slightly, keeping his eyes trained on Matthew. "Hand me the gun. Go into the back bedroom, and get your phone." Eric had seen it on the small table, and knew that it was thier only way out of this mess. If the cops came, everything would work out. The only twist in the plan, was getting out of there without being caught by the police men. That would mean the two of them getting sent back to their homes, and back to everything they had come this far to get away from. Not now, not ever would Eric go back. Not if he was alive and kicking, and he would do anything to keep Leah from doing the same.

“Hmm?” Leah asked quietly, keeping her eyes on Blake, her hand ceasing to shake as much, watching as Blake stopped a few feet away from them, obviously hesitant. He knew she’d shot Matthew, and he obviously didn’t understand that it’d been an accident. When she heard Eric tell her to give him the gun, she stiffened momentarily. His hand was hurt! If she left him for long, Blake and Matthew would be able to easily overpower him. “Eric…” Leah stopped herself. She couldn’t make anything worse. She had to do this one thing, just for Eric. She could do this. She could keep herself from worrying too much, calling the policemen, and getting out of there with Eric alive. Eric’s friend, Mark, would definitely help Eric recuperate. Of that she was sure. Leah gently handed Eric the gun before saying, “I’m so sorry for all this.” She turned and took three steps towards the door, Blake making a move towards the door after her, but Leah had already closed it behind her, running into the other room and searching in the darkness until her hand came to rest upon her phone, and she tried her hardest not to look at her discarded bra and shirt that still lay on the floor, as she shouldered her backpack, waiting for the policemen to pick up.

Leah seemed momentarily confused, shifting her weight back and forth. Soon, she slowly handed him the gun, and Eric raised his hand to take it from her. When his fingers came in contact with the cold metal, he was forced to hold it in his hand and try and move his broken fingers. Setting his jaw, he ignored the pain. That was a skill only time could produce, and after Mike's jarring treatment, he was able to block out the pain signals that were jolting to his brain, seeming like electricity. Leah moved from his side, sidling out from behind him. The boy was left alone with Blake and Matthew, both eying the guns warrily. Matthew was trying to keep his cool, pushing himself off of the floor and starting to stand. Eric cocked the gun, pointing each one at the two men.
"Move and Die."

It only took a matter of seconds for the policemen to pick up, and relief flooded through Leah. She quickly gave the location, and the predicament, and that they were needed as soon as they could get here, since lives were at risk—more importantly, Eric’s life; but she didn’t say that. Leah hung up after the policewoman that answered said they’d be there in a matter of minutes, and Leah rushed back into the other room, staring angrily at Blake, who stepped back, a curious look on his face, his eyes dropping to the phone in her hand.
Suddenly feeling rather cocky, Leah said, “Yeah, that’s right. Police are going to come and kick your sorry asses.” Leah frowned and—very gingerly—took the gun from Eric’s wounded hand, her hands no longer shaking as she pointed the gun at Blake, a determined smirk on her face. At the cost of her own life, Leah would get Eric out of there, and have him get the treatment he needed. The longer they waited, the worse the grazed bullet-wound and his broken hand got. “What’s your plan now?” Leah asked quietly.

Despite the pain that was corsing through Eric's veins, he couldn't help but let a grin break out over his dark features. His eyes glittered in a cruel manner, and he let Leah take the gun from him. She seemed more determined now than ever, and he gave her a gentle smile as she asked what the plan was.
Did he have a plan? Most definatly not. "The main goal is to get the police here, then get out before they can catch us. You know what the'll do when they find out were minors." Eric shrugged, before splitting pain in his shoulder made him hiss quietly. Blake looked taken aback, and Matthew looked pissed off at the both of them. The man looked at Blake, then back at the gun that Eric was holding. Eric tilted his head to the side, before flipping the gun in his fingers. He was able to detect the sound of sirens in the distance, and nodded at Leah. Timing was the key here. They had to get out of the building as soon as possible, but they also needed to make sure the police found Blake and Matthew.

Leah nodded, “Well then,” Leah frowned as Blake stepped forward, a menacing look on his face, making Leah take a nervous step back. The sirens were beginning to get louder, and she frowned. She looked around. They needed a diversion, and they needed one quick. “Think they’d find Blake and Matthew if I shot Blake’s foot? Make a lot of ruckus.” Leah was thinking on a whim. She didn’t really want to shoot anybody, but her determination to keep Eric alive was pushing out all thoughts of being violent, or who she had to push down to get Eric away safely.

Eric raised an eyebrow, keeping his glare locked on Matthew's face. "You would do that?" He asked, rather jauntily. "Or should I." He swung the gun towards Blake's foot, making Matthew scramble up off of the floor and stand in an awkward position, cradeling his arm. The noise of the sirens began to fill the air around them, and Eric took the oportunity to glance at Leah. "I'll do it."

Aiming at Blake's foot, he squeezed the trigger. The backfire from the gun caused his hands to jerk momentarily, but the bullet exploded out of the barrel, hitting Blake square in the leg. "Out, out!" Eric shoved Leah out the door, slamming it behind them. "Run!"

Leah bit her lip slightly, not looking at Eric. She was surprised when he swirled around and shot the gun, the sound resonating in the small room. Leah flinched, but she felt extremely relieved, and she tripped slightly as Eric pushed her out of the room. Leah didn’t even bother to drop the gun, instead keeping it clenched tightly in her fingers, afraid Matthew would come after them. Blake couldn’t anymore, but Matthew’s hand was the only thing to deter him. Leah fumbled slightly with handle on the door from the hallway and scrambled down the stairs, looking back once to make sure Eric wasn’t having trouble following.

Squad cars could be seen screaming down the road, and Eric grimaced at the sound. "We cant let them catch us!" He hissed, following after Leah and down the stairs. He grabbed her hand with his good one, pulling her after him as he pushed his way through the door and out into the bar. It was completley empty, but the smell of beer and cigarettes was still heavy in the air. Eric's nose wrinkled, and he winced at the smell. "Come on-" Pulling her through the room, his dark eyes scanned for a way out, a way that the police couldn't catch them. "Any ideas?" Heavy thudding from the upstairs signaled that Matthew was up, and probably coming after them.

Leah looked around, trying desperately to find a new way out. Leah flicked her gaze around, looking down the different alleyways. She froze up suddenly when she heard Matthew’s feet pounding down the stairs, “Honestly,” Leah muttered, “I don’t care anymore. We just need to get the hell out of here,” Leah muttered, looking behind her, hearing the door open from the hallway upstairs.

"Come on."
Eric's voice was unusually calm for the situation at hand, as he started to stride across the room, Leah's hand gripped tightly in his. He pulled her behind him, before he reached a small side door at the other end of the room. He was forced to drop Leah's hand, in order to shove the door open. After a few seconds, he was able to bust it open and grabbed her hand once again, pulling her out of the door. Behind them was a small narrow alley, the sun already starting to set. Eric hadn't realized how long they had been there, but grabbed the gun out of his waist band any way.

Leah checked nervously behind them, hearing Matthew’s footsteps grow ever closer. She was getting antsy. Matthew was probably pissed, and wouldn’t hold back on beating the both of them if he caught them. Leah followed Matthew out of the bar, looking around the alleyway, gripping his hand tighter. “Please get me out of here before Matthew catches us,” Leah said, her tone obviously desperate.

The alley way was dark and dank, and reeked of old garbage that had been discarded behind the building without much thought. Broken beer bottles and cigarette butts were strewn across the ground, the glass crunching under Eric's feet. He winced at the feeling, but then felt Leah grab his hand and hold it tightly, making Eric turn and give her a slight smile. His hand held the gun, and he suddenly heard sirens screaming closer, before quite a few squad cars pulled up in front of the building. "Stay close, follow me." Eric whispered quietly, hearing Blake's cries of pain from the upstairs bedroom, and Matthew racing behind them and stumbling over tables and chairs. Eric started running, pulling Leah along behind him. "C'mon!" He hissed, racing down the alleyway.

Leah nodded and slipped down the alleyway with him, coughing at the nasty smell, but managed to catch her breath and stop coughing, as not to give away their position to Matthew, who was rapidly pursuing them. She was crossing her fingers on her free hand, praying silently over and over again in her head that they wouldn’t catch them. She couldn’t stand to even think about what’d happen to her if he caught her—but more importantly, he’d probably kill Eric. And that’s one thing she couldn’t stand for.
