Josh nodded and helped her stand up. "Your birthplace... and the exact place you were when you turned into the demon... well, half." he cleared his throat and when he pulled her up, he stuffed the book back in his pouch and started to walk out towards the cementery then stopped, looking back. He could feel the demon backing away from those few feet as he secretly read her mind... that was good. He took a deep sigh nodded towards the gate. "Lead the way, girl." he muttered with a small sheepish grin. He took a step out of the cemetery. He was glad that he could help her without her sherring away and being arrogant. He was glad he could easily take that curse that was given to her, and take it back away.

Emiko nodded and, with his help, got to her feet. She stared around them a moment, taking in a deep, centering breath, blocking her mind to all thoughts of Captor or demons or even the thing that she and Josh were going to attempt accomplishing. Emiko found it was easier to keep her mind blank, but the only problem with that was that it showed on her face: her eyes dulled, and her movements were that of a ghost's instead of a living being of matter. She stepped forward, her moccasins making no noise on the ground as her body led her towards her birthplace, towards the Soothsayer's abode, to where Captor had captured her, forcing her into the life she never wanted.

As she took the lead, Josh couldn't help but glance at the slightly curved and smooth-looking body. It seemed all perfect and still-- he was shocked at how beautiful and perfect she was. Though for her beauty, she that demon defiently made her kickass even if she didn't want to. Captor wanted to hurt him, wanted to make him scared and submiss to him, like the young girl submitted to him but Josh was too high in training and knew not to show fear to a demon. He knew that showing fear, they could easily take over you especially for the female angels. Except for his mother a very good warrior she was, kicked butt like it wasn't anything. Even as a human, his mother had skills like an assasian.
His thoughts suddenly ranged out as he realized his eyes were looking at the curve of her hips and part of her ass. He looked silently embarssed but said nothing just scratched the back of his head and took his eyes from where they were looking, bringing himself besides Josh. "Excited?" he asked, a big sheepish grin appeared on his face. "I surely am, getting into something I really shouldn't eh?" he nodded. "But it's more fun to do it with someone else." his voice had that flirty tone in it and when he realized that, he looked down at his shoes and let himself blush. He gave a nervous chuckle and wiggled his toes under his shoes. "Err..." he said under a breathing laugh. "Not exacly how I expected it to turn out." he said and looked up to see what she'd say. He'd expect her to say nothing... probably uncomfortable with him. He looked down and closed his eyes. Stupid! Stupid

Emiko was vaguely aware of Josh's eyes on her, though she couldn't tell where his gaze was planted. A slight shiver snaked its way down her spine. She had half the mind to catch a sideways glance at him, but she thought better of it, and, instead, stared down at her moccasin-clad feet. Emiko flicked her eas back towards him, but only for a second.

She was having mixed emotions. She'd never actually traveled with another being of the opposite sex, besides her father and her recently-deceased brother, who had passed due to the same illness that put Emiko into the half-demon situation she was in today. In a way, it excited her; but it also made her nervous. She;d never had the sole attention of a male before---one that she was not related to, that is---much less had sehe cared whether she was attractive or not, but suddenly she became very self-conscience about her appearance.

Emiko started when he spoke, his voice piercing the near-silence between them, and slowed her pace so she walked beside him, rather than in front. In response, she said: "Eh, not exactly..." she felt her face flush momentarily, Captor stirring angrily within her, and she could feel his anger and hatred as he tried to conjure up another plan of Josh's demise, which Emiko was finding easier to dispatch with Josh's encouraging statement from earlier in their conversation. She shrugged her shoulders halfheartedly and stole a quick glance at his face before staring in front of her again, "So..." she said, rubbing her upper-arm with the opposite hand in a nervously awkward manner.

Josh looked at her, standing beside her as she rubbed her upper arm he grimaced quietly. He looked down again, easily shown that he was nervous, his huge wings tucking deeper in his back. After a few moments hesitation, he looked up to meet her quick gaze. "Soo..." he said quietly. He then stopped, looking straight. "Would you want to go rent a horse?" he started. "So, you wouldn't have to walk."

Emiko felt suddenly out of place. She smiled weakly at him and chewed on the bottom of her lip, her emotions conflicting. At his offer, she shrugged momentarily, and asked, "But wouldn't renting require pay? I have nothing to give or pay with..." Emiko suddenly felt nervous and she stared at her feet as if they'd insulted her. All of a sudden, the tension had risen from nothing to complete palpability; you could slice it with a knife. Emiko's arm brushed against his accidentally, and she moved over to the side a bit more, feeling embarassed.

Josh nodded when she had mentioned that it'd cost money. "Yes, it would actually." he said. "But you can't just walk on your feet through this trip. I know you did it before but er..." he suddenly stiffened as her arm touched his. He looked at her, brown eyes eyes full of nervousness. He then looked away and as soon as he did, caught the sight of a small village. Looking back at her he nodded. "Just let me get the horse, my pleasure." He didn't let her answer. Instead, he just moved on a looking for a horse place that could be rented so Emiko didn't have to walk. He knew he was being a bit stubborn, but he didn't care. He just cared for Emiko that was all and he wanted to make her happy. He was sure she'd be happy once he'd gotten the horse. Soon he found a stable saying.. Rent-a-horse. He looked though the stables and spotted a huge tall horse chewing on its hay. It was about 50$ plus taxes to rent him; that's fair. He looked for the man and spotted him talking to a family. When they walked away, he turned around. "Oh howdy there young feller and what would you like?" Josh turned and pointed at the beautiful and majestic stallion with his finger. "That one." The man nodded. "Oh Felix," he said. "That'd be 50$" Josh handed the money and got the horse. He led it back outside the village and looked at Emiko. "Not bad eh?"

Emiko moved over and nearly caught him by the shoulder to tell him she didn't need a horse, but he had already evaded her grasp. Instead, she stayed just outside the outskirts of the village, Captor nagging at her and telling her to run away while she still could. With Captor bugging her, the minutes seemed like hours, and she'd taken up pinching her wrist just to keep herself sane. She was extremely relieved to see Josh walking back with the stud, who was quite large and majestic-looking, with lean limbs and heavily-muscled shoulders and hips. Emiko smiled and pet the horse's velvety nose. She turned to Josh and smiled, "He's wonderful; but I hope you know that was completely unnecessary." Emiko turned back to the horse and pet his cheek, admiring his shining dark-bay coating.

Josh nodded. "I know but no reason to find an excuse to get a horse?" he asked, a warm smile spreading his lips. He admired her beauty with the horse. The humor warmed in his eyes. "That'd make a beautiful sunset card." He said and went over picking her up and throwing her gently onto the horse. He came in from in front of her, scootching in the back. "Wow, your going to have to lead." He laughed and waited for her to move, no hands needed. The horse snorted, waited to be intructed what to do and Josh just waited. He'd never felt so happy in his life; he was adventuring with a horse and the girl he'd grown a small-- maybe big crush on.

Emiko stared at him a moment, caught off guard by his comment. She was forced to return her attention to the stallion to hide her blush. Emiko felt her face heat up when he grabbed her (gently) and tossed her up onto the stallion. She smiled and pet the horse's neck. Yet again, she found herself blushing slightly when Josh seated himself behind her, and she nodded, looking at the stallion. He looked well-trained, without a bridle needed, but she still felt the need to hold onto him and physically instruct him. So, Emiko laced her fingers through his mane and instructed him which direction to go, saying kindly to him, "This way, boy."

Josh waited and when the horse started to trot, he held to its sides gently. He looked ahead as she directed the horse with such a gentle and sweet voice. He looked at her and leaned in to ask. "Have you ever had a horse? Your so gentle." The stallion was smoothed, he could feel its emotions crackling through the air. It's small snort and grunts sounded once in awhile. The sun started to go down and he watched as early stars appeared, he looked down at Emiko and leaned in to see her face resting chin on his shoulders. "Were gonna probably have to stop for tonight," he whispered gently. He looked around for a good spot to settle.

Emiko looked over at him and smiled, "No, but I've always been told I have a talent with animals." A contented smile crept over her lips and she turned back to the stallion, speaking to him in soothing tones. She still felt awkward with him so close, but she was gradually finding that she didn't mind his closeness. It was, in a way, reassuring. It made her remember each time she felt his breath on her skin that he was going to help save her from Captor. It was the best feeling she'd ever had. An involuntary shiver went down her spine as he whispered to her, his breath hot and comforting on her neck and ear. She nodded, looking around. "What of the cave?" Emiko pointed eastward to a cave that was more like a couple of downed trees covered in moss and lichen, but it had an earthy and homely look about it.

Josh saw he pointing at the cave and then suddenly noticed it. He patted the horses left side to lead it towards the cave. "To the cave boy," he said gently. When the horse arrived. He jumped off and helped her off. He looked at Emiko, a playful smile crossing his lips. "Nice eye." He complimented before turning and looked around with light vision. He sensed that no animal was here and looked back. "Okay, Emiko. We need to make a fire, maybe find some food. Then, we can leave in sunrise." He had it all planned out already. "There's also a lot of moss in there."

Emiko smiled and let the horse take his time walking over there. She gladly accepted Josh's help off the horse, but when she took his hand, Captor raged momentarily inside her, and she stumbled when she got off, nearly falling into Josh. She righted herself as quickly enough and blushed momentarily before nodding. "All right." She stretched and yawned before setting off within ten feet of the cave to search for dry leaves and twigs. She brought an armful of tinder back to the cave and placed it near the entrance. "Don't know how we'll get food," she commented, shrugging.

As Emiko walked off to look for leaves and twigs, he started to make a small circle with coal to make the twigs and leaves secure. When he heard approaching footsteps, he stepped out of the way to give he room to place the sticks, twigs and leaves. He nodded. "Maybe there's fruit?" He asked and headed out to look. As he looked though the trees, he wandered into a meadow and saw a apple tree. He walked over and started to collect some. It wasn't as good, but at least it was something. He then walked back towards the cave looking at the apples to make sure they were ripe enough.

Emiko smiled and grabbed two rocks, one of which she thought was close enough to flint that it'd strike up a fire, and began to hit them against each other while he went out and searched. By the time he returned with an armful of apples, she was already stoking the fire, blowing on it gently and adding dry leaves to its mixture, as well as dead pine leaves, which made the flame momentarily burst up. "Good job!" Emiko said, smiling at him kindly. She seated herself cross-legged in front of the fire and hummed an indian tune to herself while she waited for Josh to get himself situated.

Josh put the apples down in a secure place slowly. He heard her praise and nodded. "Yeah thanks!" He said and threw one at her and grabbed himself an apple and bit into it. When he did the sweet juices filled his mouth. He settled back beside her and remembered the stallion which was in the cave, tied up. He grabbed the apple and gave the apple to the stallion. He took a bite and again and finished it in two bites. Josh smiled and stroked the stallion's mane then turned and sat again settling back. "Wow... long day." he sighed and bit into his apple again.

Emiko caught the apple and stared at it a moment before putting it over the fire, warming it up, and then taking a bite. Now the juices tasted like warm apple cider, and a smile crept across her lips. "Good job," she said again, after swallowing. She watched him give an apple to the stallion, then come back. She finished off her own apple before laying down on her back and staring up through the canopy of trees to the stars that dotted the dark indigo sky. Emiko sighed contentedly and closed her eyes, allowing her breathing to regulate. She nodded at his comment, "Yes, it has been rather long." She rolled over on her side and opened her eyes, looking over at him with a tired glance, "And I'm rather tired," she commented casually. Captor stirred within her a moment before hiding himself in her core, still unhappy that Josh was so close.

Josh was the oppisite side of the fire looking at her through flames. He blinked with tired eyes and yawned. His eyes drooped and he started to doze off but then opened them again, a question popping in his mind. "When will we be there? How many, days or weeks?" He asked. He then closed his eyes again. He waited and met her eyes intently just waiting for Emiko to answer before he could fall asleep. He was happy she easily accepted him because he was an angel and she a demon. Who'd known they'd make it so far and make it so far... Josh least expected it. Defiently.

Emiko yawned and stretched, getting to her feet and walking into the cave, where the stallion had laid down. Emiko shrugged, "We should be there by tomorrow afternoon, if we get up at dawn," Emiko said, laying down by the stallion's warm stomach. "Hmm, he's warm," Emiko commented, closing her eyes and resting her head on his stomach. "It's warm over here," without thinking, Emiko said, "You should come over here." Emiko yawned and stretched again, easily falling asleep against the stallion's warm hide.

Josh smiled and got up walked over by Emiko and lying down right beside her. His heart raced as he intended on making a move but he didn't. Instead, he turned around and closed his eyes and soon fell asleep. He had to admit, it was comfortable. Very. Not noticing where he put his arm, it ended up around Emiko's waist. He kept in that position.

When the first rays of sunlight peered into the cave-like structure she'd stayed in that night, she realized she felt warmer than she had when she fell asleep. It took her a moment to get herself awake enough to realize she was facing Josh's broad chest, with his arm draped over her waist. Her heart skipped a beat, wondering how long they'd been like this. Emiko realized she didn't mind having him so close, and she instinctively huddled closer to him, feeling Captor shake angrily inside her, closing her eyes again, a faint smile across her lips.

Josh soon awoke when the sunlight seeped into the cave. He felt much warmer and when he awoke, he saw Emiko huddled to him with his hands around her waist. He blushed and let go getting up and stretching. "Wakie! Time to head out so we arrive there early." He said and brought the stallion out and let him go so he could eat and do busniess and sat there staring at what used to be a fire and was now ashes. He waited for Emiko and thought about last night.

Emiko let her eyes open after a moment, allowing him to take the stallion outside. She felt her face heat up momentarily. Emiko stared at the stallion and Josh for a moment before getting up and stretched, rolling her shoulders. "All right," Emiko said, trying to forget the feeling of Josh's arms wrapped around her. She squinted momentarily when she hit the sunlight. Emiko stretched again before walking over to him and the stallion, "I guess it's time to go, huh?" she asked, staring around the scenery, turning her back to the sun. "It's really beautiful here..." She took in a deep breath, "I hate to leave so soon. Maybe we can come back sometime."

Josh nodded and overlooked the beautiful terran. Turning towards Emiko, he sighed. "Time to go." He said and whistled for the stallion. The stallion came with a snort and turned his back towards them to get on. Josh smiled and jumped up on him, bringing his hand out so Emiko could climb on. He waited silently. "It's time for you to lose your half your heart and get a new one." he said.
