Grace sat there, floating in midair, watching the through the other side of the mirror. She’d been stuck in here for a millennia now. Grace grimaced slightly as she saw a bird from the window outside of the ragtag shed that had once been a mansion. It was now thoroughly dilapidated, and half of it had already collapsed. She frowned and looked behind her. Behind her was a large expanse of nothing. Nothing except space and stars and black holes that were frozen still in time. She shook her head, wishing somebody would come and find her. Many had come here, most of them men with their ladies, on tour by themselves, and she heard the most disgusting noises from the bed that lay beside her woman. Yet not once had they bothered to look in her mirror and try to get her out. Possibly it was because, without the choker, she’d have to choose to appear to them, or perhaps it was just the fact that the lovers that visited this place were only looking to pleasure one another, and then leave. A simple mirror in the corner was none of their concern, right? She’d think that’d be a stupid thought, considering her mirror was the only dustless, unfaded object in the entire mansion. It was a gleaming, snow white, with golden furnishings, and its glass surface not even smudged in the least. Grace sighed and got up, her ghostly figure hovering only a few inches above the ground.

Colton narrowed his eyes, gazing at the guy that was standing in front of him. His rough hands were shoved in his pockets, neon green skate board leasurly lying under his foot. He was shirtless, the sun shining down and making a thin sheen of sweat coat his body. Skipping another day of school only made him happier, but now it was starting to be spoiled by this new kid. Not liking newbies, Colton was the first one to object when the kid brought his skateboard to the park. He was smaller than the rest of them, but carried a slightly haughty look that the 18 year old had grown to despise.
"Not now, we're busy here."
Colton bend down, his fingers curling around the edge of the skateboard. He lifted his foot and flipped it upward, raising the board and shoving it under his arm. The black wheel's spun slightly, and he thumbed them as he continued to look at the stranger.
The boy grinned, a space showing between his two front teeth. Raising an eyebrow, he moved past Colton and towards the center of the park. No one was moving, all eyes trained on Colton and the new kid.
The teen was trying to be as nice as possible, but his voice came out gruff and menacing. He wasn't in the mood to deal with any preppy newbies, not when he just wanted to have fun today. They were never a welcome sight.
"Kid, what do you think you're doing!?"
Colton strode forward, grasping the guy by the shoulder and spinning him around. His face hard, he pushed it so it was inches from the boy's. "Scat, scram. I told you to get out of here!" Shaking his head, he turned and pushed him away. "Whatever." Shoving his skateboard up farther under his arm, he turned and started to stride away.

He wasn't in the mood anymore, not for skating. Perhaps he would visit later, when he wasn't so angry. Not looking back, he heard the voices from the others calling him, but he didn't care. Placing his board down on the ground, he pressed his foot down onto it and pushed off, starting down the road. His hat was turned backwards over his head, dark brown hair falling into his brilliant blue eyes.
Minutes passed, the only sounds the distant car engines and the sound of the boards wheels spinning on the blacktop. He wasn't really sure where he was going, but going deeper and deeper into the city, he decided to explore the few streets he hadn't been on yet. That was always a good thing if he was bored. After traveling a few blocks, he neared an old, broken down house. Slowing himself to a stop, he flipped the skateboard into the air with his foot, catching it with his hand.

Grace’s ears caught the sound of wheels scraping on the worn-down pavement. She immediately stood up, standing closely towards the frame of the mirror, only able to let her fingers rest lightly on its surface. She wished she could cry out, but she knew nobody would be able to hear her. Her dainty feet rested inches above the ground, her gown flying around her gently, as if an invisible sea breeze was blowing around her knees, causing the ripples in the lavender fabric. Grace hoped with all her heart that it was not another couple come to make love on the legendary bed that so many had done so on. Grace grimaced slightly at the thought, but the wheels she’d heard were not loud enough to be either a car, or a bike. Frowning, Grace wondered what it could be. It was quiet for a moment, and Grace furrowed her brows. Had they left already? Grace bent down slightly, moving back into the sitting position that looked as if she was simply floating in midair, her bluish hair cascading down her shoulders, also flowing gently around her, like her dress’s skirts were doing. She cast a glance around her, the inky blue sky around her dotted with shining silver stars, and a spiral galaxy that lay off to her right. It was beautiful in here, no doubt, but it was not a place she’d want to stay for as long as she had. Grace sighed. It wasn’t likely anybody would be letting her out anytime soon.

Colton raised a hand, fingering the choker that was tightly secured around his neck. It had no clasp, seeming to grow every time he did. He actually couldn't remember when he had ever gotten the choker, and being an orphan didn't necicarily help the matter. Colton often liked to fantisize that it was from his birth parents, but no longer thought of them anymore. They were part of the past, a peice of him that he wouldn't ever find. Not anymore, not ever. Though his heart ached just to know their names, he pushed the thought away and out of his mind, hoping that they wouldn't be thought of again any time soon.
The building that stood in front of him was rather run down, the sidewalk in front of the house cracked and uneven. Wild vines grew over the stoop and door, and the place had an air of mystery that shrouded its property. The tree's that were growing were tall and unkept, their long fingers reaching down towards the stranger. Colton then realized he had lost all intrest in anything else, wanting to find out what was so errie about the place. Something was off, something wasn't the way it was supposed to be.

Why was the house still standing? The city didn't keep old buildings up like this, not that Colten had known of. Still, it was the deserted part of the city, and he supposed that no one really wanted to come here in the first place. Stepping forward gingerly, Colton's light crystal eyes warrily looked over the enterance of the house. It was sloping on an odd angle, looking like it might collapse at any moment.
The teen wasn't able to keep himself from investigating. This was different from the old appartment buildings that his gang tended to hang out in, and he slowly neared the entrance of the place. A sudden scuffling in the bushes made him jump, whirling around and assuming a harsh fighters stance. Only a small grey squrrel darted from under the tangled, thorny underbrush, scampering up the tree and hiding in its thick leaves.

Grace heard footsteps, and she jumped to her ‘feet,’ and nearly shouted. She could very vaguely see the outline of another human being inside the building—just inside. He suddenly seemed very stiff and scared, but loosened up after a squirrel darted past. Grace’s eyes were immediately drawn to the choker on his neck, and she suddenly burst with excitement, banging on the surface of the window, from her side, though she knew it would be impossible for him to hear that. But with the choker…with the choker, he could see her and hear her! Grace suddenly got the brightest idea to say something. “Hello? Hello! Over here!” Grace shouted, though it sounded extremely weird to speak. Her voice was strangely angelic, but that must be because she was…well, to put it bluntly, dead. She stared at him out of the corner of her eye, wishing with all her might she could come out. Her bluish hair blew in her face for a moment, but she quickly brushed it out. Her voice sounded weird to her—she hadn’t spoken in an extremely long time. “Helloooo!” Grace called out again, waving her hand in a desperate attempt to tell him her location. She hoped he could hear her. She didn’t know if he could when she was in the mirror, but she was praying with all her heart—or at least, what was left of it.

Cautiously, Colton started to inch forward. He placed his hand on the brass door handle, feeling the cold metal press into his palm. Glancing up an around him, he swallowed once. Dark hair shaded his eyes, and the teen shifted his board under his arm, pushing the door inward.
It opened with a slight squeek, making him wince at the sudden noise. He almost felt as if the choker was constricting his breathing, and he raised a hand to tug at it, before it he was able to breathe once again. He could have cut the choker off years before, but had kept it on until now, and he still had no idea to take it off, if ever. Shaking his head, he raised his hand and took his hat off of his head, before pressing it back down over his hair. He could feel his heart pumping, starting to get faster as he slowly closed the door behind him. His green and black skateboard was pressed under his arm, and he very slowly walked forward. To his right, a crumbled down hallway heaped with dust and dirt, and he flinched as a large rat made a slight scuffling as it scratched at the debri, looking hungry. It's black beady eyes stared up at the boy, before it scampered away and into a burrow, out of sight and away from the human's gaze.
Pushing forward, Colton turned his his left. This current hallway branched off into a few other rooms, all looking dusty and old. He wondered if anything valuble was here, and ventured into one of the bedrooms. It was large, having a grand bed in one corner, torn curtains hanging from the windows. At one time, it had probably been a beautiful room, but now it was nothing more than a heap of trash. Colton opened a dresser drawer, scaring a family of mice that quickly scurried away, leaving their warm cozy nest in the drawers corner.

Colton looked down, before lowering his hand into the drawer and picking up something that was small and shimmering. Turning slightly, he held it in the light and blew it off, before his eyes slightly softened. A small ring was pinched between his two fingers, a beautiful gem stone engraved into its center. Dropping it into his pocket, he started to scrouge through the other drawers, finding a few other odd trinkets that seemed to hold a bit of value. Suddenly, a voice faintly drifted through the air, and he froze. Goosebumps appeared on his arms, and a shiver wracked down his spine. Silence filled the room around them, and Colton swallowed, turning around cautiously and trying to be as quiet as possible.

(Sorry hun! My post's are really not very good, unfortunatly. ):)

[ dude, you’re doing fine! Better than me, sis! <3 ]

Grace frowned as the boy went out of sight, and she slumped back down onto the halfway sitting position—the best, obviously, that she could manage. Despite the fact he was obviously trying to be sneaky and to get away from her, she could hear him rummaging through drawers and scaring the families of mice and rats, all of which scampered back towards the bed. She was hidden in the far corner, though her mirror was brandished and shiny, illuminating the dark corner in the master bedroom. He was just out of her line of vision, she could tell, and a few more steps to the left and they’d be able to see each other. Grace, for half a second, considered scaring the teen out of his wits, but he had the choker. He, if anyone, could help her escape her enclosed prison. Deciding that it was worth another shot, Grace stiffened and opened her mouth, not really enjoying the sensation of speaking. After a millennia, she found it rather hard to pronounce the words, and her voice had a melodious tune to it, as if she were singing rather than talking.
“Hello?” Grace said again, “I know you’re in here! Can you please help me?”
Grace rolled the words around in her head; it sounded as if she was playing a part in a horror movie: when the man or woman entered a dark room, or opened the basement door, and was never seen from again. She was hoping the boy wasn’t scared enough to leave right then and there, because if he was, she was screwed for eternity. He’d never return. “Please help!” Grace said again, desperately shooting to her feet again, rather tired of her up-down-up-down routine, and pounded her fists against the virtually unbreakable mirror’s surface.

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Colton slowly turned from the dresser, feeling his heartbeat accelerate quickly. The whole house was silent, not a whisper of a sound anywhere on the premasise. The only sound Colton could hear, was the pounding in his ears caused by his racing heart. He felt a slight shiver wrack down his spine, his face taught. Slowly leaning down, he set his skateboard down onto the ground, ready to investagate. Whatever it was, it was near. Whoever it was- He was going to find him... or her. The voice had had a slight mystic tone to it, making it hard for Colton to distinguish what was going on, and who was really speaking.

Another shiver trembled down his spine, feeling the air seem to grow a bit colder around him. He was probably imagining it, but Colton knew for a fact something was amis, something was wrong here in this run down shack of a house. His hat sat backwards on his head, his long brown hair shading over his forhead. His blue eyes were widened slightly, as he glanced around the room with warry intrest. He felt the small trinkets pressing into his thigh, deep in the pocket of his ripped black jeans. He wasn't sure if curses were real, but if they were.... If they were, he was seriously screwed.

Colton's eyes scanned over the room, but he didn't spot anything out of the ordanary. For a split second, he thought about returning the stolen items and hightailing it out of there, but something seemed to call to him- something made him want to stay, want to find out what it was that made him feel uneasy. His previous thoughts had all but dissapeared, his mind now focused on what was at hand. This room led back out to the hallway, where another door was slightly cracked open. He peered into it from where he was standing, but he didn't move any closer towards it. Colton was beginning to sense that whatever it was- was in that room.... Waiting for him. Goosebumps rose once more on his arms, but he slowly placed one step forward at a time, crossing the room. His eyes were trained on the door, never moving from its smooth, old surface.
When he neared the door, Colton placed his hand on the handle. Again, cold metal pressed into his skin. Exept, this seemed to be even colder, and he pulled his hand away instinctivley. Suddenly, he heard the voice again, coming from inside of the room. He nearly leaped back, but planted his feet firmly on the floor, refusing to let fear take ahold of him. Kicking the door open, he stepped back and watched the room come into full view. Nothing was there, nothing but a regular bedroom. Cautiously, Colton stepped inside of the room. Glancing around, he saw nothing out of the ordanary.
"Hello?"
(He has his back away from the mirror.)

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

[ xD that was really good. I can picture this in my mind perfectly. A badass scared of a ‘haunted’ house XD ^^ yer great ]

Grace stayed standing up this time, though she continued to give thought to sitting down. Her trained ears picked up him setting something down, and her heart hitched in her throat. Her first thought was that it was a weapon of some sort, but then again, this mansion wasn’t normal—it didn’t react kindly to weapons. Many, many times—enough she’d have enough stars in her own little universe to count with—people had come to try and knock it down, yet the house refused to budge. Whenever the wrecking ball made contact with the walls, it shattered as if it were simply made of glass. Only a few years, three or four maybe, had they stopped trying. Grace was glad they had stopped. It made quite a racket, and even ghosts needed their rest sometimes! Grace’s heart lifted tremendously as the boy walked into the room. He looked odd. Not at all like the people from her time. Tattered jeans and…and, strangely enough, his hat was on backwards. Grace rolled her eyes as he remained oblivious to her presence. Her ghostly pale fingers traced along the glass of the mirror, wondering what exactly she should say to him.

She could scare him, or she could get help. However, she’d already decided not to scare him. A millennia of being trapped on the inside of a mirror was a living hell. Something, she didn’t know what, had kept her from entering the afterlife peacefully. So, here she was, her beautifully ghostliness illuminated on the other side of the mirror, stuck. When she’d been younger—with her flowing brown hair and bright green eyes—she’d used mirrors constantly, never giving a thought to what the inside of a mirror was life. After all, mirrors were only supposed to be projections of one self. But how terribly wrong she was.

“Turn around, stupid,” Grace said, rather annoyed. She was anxious, and she was rather tired of the sea-like breeze whirling around her bare feet, ruffling her gown’s hem and toying with her hair, sending random strands of it flying across her face and neck. Grace was so ready to be out of this place—this prison. However, this boy with the choker seemed more clueless than she would’ve liked.

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Post by Spritz Fri Dec 02, 2011 9:54 pm

Cocky, jaunty words were the next thing the voice decided to say. Colton whirled around, his eyes suddenly wide. He felt it; whatever it was. It was in the room, the room he was in! Suddenly, Colton just wanted to get out of there. His wide blue eyes scanned the room, his gaze passing over old furniture and dust bunnies. Finally, his eyes landed on the culperate.
"Holy Shit!"
Colton couldn't help but swear out loud, stumbling backwards and tripping over a trunk at the foot of the bed. He landed harshly on his backside, but scrambled up and grabbed the nearest available weapon, which turned out to be a wire hanger from off of the floor. He held it in front of him, not really realizing how stupid he looked at the time. His eyes were focused on the mirror, on the face in the mirror, the face that was looking at him, and moving!
He suddenly realized that the wire wouldn't do a thing if the person- the creature came after him, and he chucked it at the mirror in an attempt to grab something else. It bounced off its surface harmlessly, and Colton winced as it came flying back towards him. Ducking at just the right moment, his reflexes kicked in. He grabbed something else from the floor, but it only turned out to be an old book, nothing of use. Swearing time and time again, he stayed as far away from the mirror- and the face as possible, his back pressed aginst the wall. His jeans and backside were dusted with dirt from the floor, and he dug deep into his pocket, pulling out a jackknife that he bared at the face with sudden menace.
"Stay away from me!"

(FAIL FAIL FAIL)

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Post by Guest Fri Dec 02, 2011 10:03 pm

[ stoppit! Stoppit, stoppit, STOPPIT! Yer not a freaking failure! >.< ]

Grace frowned as he cursed, “Watch your mouth!” She snapped, pulling some of her purplish-blue hair behind one of her ears. She instinctively flinched when he threw the wire at her, but relaxed as it simply bounced off. She grimaced and rolled her eyes, watching him as he scrambled to pick up some other form of weapon. A book? Really? Grace couldn’t help but laughed. He’d looked completely ridiculous brandishing a wire at her, but now a book? A bemused look crossed her face when he tossed the book aside. He dug around in his pocket and grabbed a pocketknife, which scared her profoundly. Weapons weren’t usually allowed in this house! Was it because he had the choker…?

Deciding she didn’t want a knife passing through the mirror, possibly cracking the glass or breaking it, destroying her only chances of ever returning to the real world, and, someday, heaven, she waved her hands in a submissive manner. “You do realize that I’m in a mirror, right? How do you expect to kill me when I’m IN A MIRROR!?” Grace crossed her arms suddenly, thinking she had a very good point. “Now, I see you have the choker,” Grace continued, as if nothing was odd about a boy talking to a mirror with a dead person inside (nevertheless, she figured he still didn’t know that she was a ghost). “Not any old choker. The choker. So, I’d really appreciate it if you could help me get out of here.” Grace flashed him a brief smile.

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Post by Spritz Fri Dec 02, 2011 10:16 pm

When the face started talking, Colton all but lost his senses.
"Agh!!" He never thought he had been so scared, so freaked out in his life. He felt the stolen trinkets digging into his pocket once again, and using his free hand, dug inside of it and grabbed the handful. He flung them out and away from him, hearing them hit the floor near where the mirror stood. His face was pale, eyes so big that it would seem they would pop right out of his head. His hat pushed his brown hair over his forhead, and he used both hands to brandish the knife at the mirror, the girl...
This was not working. No, nope. Not at all. If he was supposed to get out of this... this haunted shack alive, he had to use his wits and intelegance to get out of here. Sounded like a plan. Suddenly, hands appeared on the mirror's smooth surface, obviously belonging to the face. Now he had to find another name for it, great. It had hands, so it wasn't technically considered a 'face' anymore....
Colton mentally slapped himself. He was zoning out, and at a time like this!? He didn't move closer, didn't bother taking his eyes away from the girl's. He stood taught and stiff, ready to lash out at the mirror and throw the knife if the girl did anything, like try and kill him... or something. Just then, she stated that she couldn't kill him.
"You're .... You're in a mirror-"
Colton felt the need to point out the fact, and he tentativly took a step closer. When she mentioned the choker, his hand flew up to his neck, his fingers touching the black leather. "So!?"
Any calm mannor had completley vanished, and he narrowed his eyes. "What's that got to do with you, you're a fricking person in a mirror!"

Grace sighed, “You know, for a brunette, you were obviously supposed to be born a blond.” Grace sneered, allowing herself—well, the rest of herself—to be seen by him instead of hiding behind the mirror’s reflection. She eyed the knife warily. “All right, I can’t kill you. So, put the knife away. I’d rather not be any more screwed.” Grace’s eyes traveled slowly back up to his face, momentarily captivated by his gaze, which was staring at her with an intensity that almost scared her.

Grace rolled her eyes, “Congratulations, investigator,” Grace sighed. “You’ve upgraded your observation skills! Now, the choker has something to do with me because it can get me out of here.” Grace looked at him keenly for a moment, summing him up. Her final product wasn’t much. At his comment, Grace’s usual tone become more harsh, “Yes, I’m a fricking person in a fricking mirror that doesn’t want to be anymore fricking dead than I already am!” Grace had a feeling that it wasn’t such a good idea to point out she was dead, but she couldn’t take what she’d said back now.

Sighing exasperatedly, she commented, “Please, just help me get out of this mirror! I’ve been trapped in here for a fricking millennia,” she said, mocking him slightly, “And I’m really ready to get out of here. It’s not very cozy, if you know what I mean. Sitting on nothing but air and staring out and being forced to listen to people make love on the master bed over there,” Grace jerked her head in the direction of the king-sized bed that’d once been white, but was now a stained yellowish off-white color.

The mirror person started to rage on and on, and Colton just stood there, gazing at it with feirce curiousity. His stare was guarded however, but he slowly lowered the knife, though keeping it clenched in between his fingers. He shook his head, biting the inside of his bottom lip. Only when he tasted blood did he realize what he had been doing, and quickly swallowed the metalic taste of blood. Finally, after a few minutes, the girl in the mirror stopped talking. She stared at him, seemingly expecting him to do something. No, nu-uh. Colton wasn't taking one step towards her, not in a million years. The only place he would be going, was out the door and away from this wretched place forever.
"Sorry, I'm not in the mood for favors."
Colton sneered at the girl, before narrowing his eyes. "You find your own way out, because I'm finding mine." The boy shook his head, folding the knife and dropping it into his pocket. Turning his eyes back on her again, he shook his head and started to inch towards the door, a set determination on his features.

Grace sighed and rested her forehead against the mirror, not even bothering to stop the boy. She had a feeling he’d be back. He was the first person to ever have a conversation with her, and ghosts tended to be intriguing to the novice. Grace watched him leave, ignoring the sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. “I’m screwed.” She said to herself, turning around, her gown’s hem making a quiet swishing, as she stared up at the stars and frowned. The spiral galaxy was twinkling, and Grace wondered what it would be like to just go and explore. Perhaps it wasn’t such a bad idea.

Suddenly feeling the need to do so, Grace turned back and called after him, “See ya later. I think you forgot your ring!” Grace turned back around and began to walk, using the twinkling stars as stepping stones. She wondered if he really would come back. She wasn’t used to having somebody to talk to—let alone to hear herself talk at all. She had remained secluded in her own thoughts for so long, speaking was a refreshing experience. She hadn’t though so at first, but now that she’d talked quite a deal, she felt comfortable talking, and as soon as the rim of his hat disappeared she felt sadly alone. She let out a thick sigh.

Maybe she wasn’t right; maybe he’d never return. But all she could do now was hope. And that’s what she’d do, she decided, as she walked further into her own galaxy.

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Post by Spritz Fri Dec 02, 2011 10:51 pm

When Colton finally reached his small apartment, he felt like he was about to pass out. He had hardly been able to stay on his skateboard on the way back, and now he wearily started making his way up the metal stairs that led to his second floor room. His converse clad feet made soft scuffing noises on the stairs, and he soon reached the apartment door. Colton didn't bother keeping it locked, everything that was off value he had on him at all times. Pushing open the door, he imedietly threw his board off to the side, slamming the door and stumbling across the carpeted floor. Falling onto the couch, his cheek smashed against the arm rest and made him swear, raising his head and touching a small gash on his cheek. He was too tired, and far to confused to take care of the wound, so just let his head fall back onto his arms, closing his eyes. What had just happened!? Was he dreaming!? How many people had seen her, the girl in the mirror!?

He didn't know if what he had seen was real, or if he was starting to loose his mind. Either was just as likely, but a nagging feeling continued to pulse through his veins, reminding him with every heartbeat that his eyes didn't lie. Something dug into his thigh, making him very uncomfortable. Digging his hand down into his pocket, he pulled out a small shimmering ring, the gold band perfectly clasping a sparkling jewel in the center. It was real. The whole thing was real, had been real.

Colton still didn't know what to do, but when he finally drifted off to sleep, the ring was clasped tightly in his hands.

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Grace stayed there, exploring her world, far away from the edge of the mirror, yet the sounds from the other side of the mirror echoing loudly inside her galaxy. She sighed and hopped from star to star, staring and investigating black holes that had been frozen in time, no longer sucking up and destroying things in this little world of hers. All the while, she was waiting and hoping that the boy would return. He was the only one who could set her free.

Though it was becoming more and more unlikely that he would return, the mores he considered it. She began to throw shooting stars at the window, but since her little world was frozen, they only flew a few feet before freezing up, and she wasn’t able to pick them up and re-throw them. She frowned and looked down from her perch in her newly-chosen favorite seat on the spiral galaxy [which she called Skylark, out of pure randomness and lack for a better name], swinging her legs off of the very tail of it, staring towards where the two glasses of the mirror met, hoping to see the face of the boy who’s face had been imprinted in her brain.

Whenever she so much as blinked, his face showed up behind her relaxed eyelids, making her snap back into it. He’d taken the ring. Grace hadn’t liked that—but now he had something to tell him he wasn’t dreaming. After all, that ring had been her fiancé’s. Grace sighed heavily and toyed with the stars that made Skylark its own little galaxy, using her own ghostly abilities to make some stars dance around her, sparkling and twinkling dully.

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Colton stared at his ceral, the cherios floating in a white sea of milk. His spoon was disregarded and laying to the side, the boy's eyes gazing at the food with a sickening expression. He didn't want to eat, and now that he saw food he was sure it wasn't because he was too hungry. Pushing the bowl away from him, he grimaced and looked to the left, to where the small golden ring was lying on the countertop. Morning sun streamed in through the window, the gem's prism's catching the light and glittering with such intensity that it almost made Colton's eyes hurt if he looked at it for too long. He raised a hand, covering the gem with his palm. Pulling it towards him, he let it drop into his other hand, before flipping it into his pocket.
Colton wasn't tired, but he had been dreaming all night long. Now he couldn't stop thinking about the girl in the mirror, and knew for a fact that he hadn't been halucinating after all. He had proof, and it was sitting right in his pocket.

The boy pushed himself off of his stool, leaving the ceral where it was. The apartment wasn't all that dirty, but he had more important things to do now then worry about cleaning the room up to make it presentable. He had to return the ring, and see if that... that face was still in the mirror. There was no way he was about to tell anyone about it, he already thought he was going crazy.
No one else needed to know, and that was that. Colton ran a hand through his hair, before grabbing his hat from the couch. Pushing it down onto his head, he wore it backwards, like he always did. Wearing the same dirty black jeans, he hadn't bothered to change last night. He had been way to tired to do anything but sleep.

On the way out of the apartment, Colton snatched his skateboard up, before trotting down the stairs. He quickly jumped on the board, riding it out of the parking lot and down the street. Pushing faster and faster, he reached the house within a few minutes.

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Post by Guest Fri Dec 02, 2011 11:22 pm

Grace leaned back on Skylark, nearly falling through the frequent gaps that the galaxy created. She wondered where the ring had went. Had the boy sold it? It was extremely valuable—engraved with real gold, embellished with a real emerald. Grace smiled slightly as she remembered her old fiancé. He’d been wonderful, but unfortunately for the both of them she’d gotten pregnant before her time, ultimately resulting in her fiancé being taken away from her, married off to another woman, who just so happened to be infertile. Grace had given birth to the healthy baby girl, and named her Taylor, the closest she could get to ‘Ty’ without making it a male name.

Grace wondered if her daughter had made it safely into the afterlife. Grace had died two short years after Taylor had been born, leaving the child with nobody to care for her. Grace, not having successfully entered the afterlife, couldn’t watch her baby girl grow up, guide her on her way, or make sure things fell into place. Taylor’s fate was undecided, and she’d never know what happened to her one-and-only daughter, the daughter of her very much beloved fiancé—who must’ve died long ago. She wondered if he could see her now.

Suddenly, the sound of wheels brought her out of her thoughts. She frowned and sat up straighter, tilting over the edge of Skylark and jumping down onto some of the glowing stars, using them once more as steppingstones to reach the edge of the mirror, peering out of it. She couldn’t see anything, but she heard the familiar scrape of the wheels the boy had had when he’d first come. Her heart lifted slightly. She wasn’t going to be alone! Grace was going to be extremely angry if he’d sold the ring. He’d get it once she got out of there. Just because she was ghost didn’t mean she couldn’t do physical damage. Plus, he had the choker. They could interact with each other like any normal human would with each other—even though she was a ghost.

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Colton had been traveling quickly, and now he slowed the board down with the heel of his foot. Making a running stop in front of the dilapidated building, he pushed down his his foot and flipped the board up into the air, catching it with his hands.
Colton's light blue eyes rose, his gaze scanning over the enterance of the house. It looked the same as it had the day before, but he was no longer feeling anxious to go inside. After finding what it was that was there, he still wasn't sure if he wanted to go back in. The boy turned his head slightly, looking down the abandoned, deserted street. It was bare, remains of houses and buildings scattered limply across dirt and concrete.
The city had demolished this whole neighborhood, but why not the house? If they knew about the girl, they obviously would have taken her mirror for profit, if they had the chance to.
Colton gave slight shake of his head, not really understanding. He felt as if he was being drawn back to the mirror, and hated that he was going along with it.

Ok. You're going in, you're returning the ring, and you're hightailing it out of there.
Eh, sounded like a plan to him. The teen made his way forward, his converse clad feet pressing down onto the sidewalk and stepping over thick gnarled vines that grew across the path. As soon as he reached the door, he turned around to gaze behind him, and blinked at what he saw. The tree's overhead formed almost a complete canopy over him, shading his figure and the houses enterance. It would have seemed that they had grown from the previous day, but Colton didn't know, nor could he be sure... He couldn't be sure of anything at the time, not now. Raising his hand, he lifted his hat and scratched his head, before pressing it down again. His dark bangs fell over his forhead, nearly obscuring his vision as they pushed into his eyes. Brushing them away so he could see, Colton placed his hand on the handle of the door, before trying to turn it. It didn't budge.
After trying multiple times, he swore loudly under his breath. Maybe the mirror person could hear him, maybe not. But he didn't give a crap, not now. Colton slammed his shoulder into the door, before it fell open and made him stumble into the house, tripping over a chair and skidding onto the floor. The rucus was very loud, and any chances of getting in and out quietly were suddenly diminished greatly.

He swore again, before pushing himself up with his hands. Placing his skateboard on the table near the door, he left the door open behind him, so he could try to get a safe get away. He didn't understand what the girl was talking about, the importance of the choker. His hand automaticly raised, his fingers touching the choker as he thought about it. Shrugging, he brushed off his backside and jeans, but it didn't seem to do any good.
Colton slowly started to move forward, his feet landing softly on the ground. He passed the other rooms without intrest, his eyes focused intently on the bedroom door that was still slightly ajar.

Grace did a flip off of Skylark and moved herself slowly towards the mirror’s surface, jumping from star to star. Apparently, he’d returned. And from the ruckus he was making, he’d wake up the living dead. Aha, real funny. Seeing as she was already dead. Grace fingered the glass of the mirror, picking up a star that was nearby her, and rolling it around in her hands. She heard him curse again. She was really beginning to hate this boy’s profanity. He was slandering this sacred house with nothing but his mouth. She wasn’t sure if even the old-time punishments of having his mouth washed out with soap would actually work on this kid.

Grace remained silent, hearing his footsteps draw nearer. She could sense the presence of her fiancé’s ring. Ty had been the love of her life, and a sudden pang of longing went through her. But most importantly, the kid had come back, and, hopefully, he could get her out of her eternal prison. She smiled gently at the thought of finally being able to be free.

“I told you that you would be back!” Grace called in a singsong voice. “So please, now that you’re here, don’t run away like the little girl you are, and help me out of this God-forsaken mirror!” Grace snapped, her sudden anger surprising her to an extremity. “Sorry. Please come in here!” Grace wondered if he was going to run off again. It was likely, but then again, this was a boy, and they were unpredictable. Even Ty had his unpredictable moments.

A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ] Empty Re: A Millennia of Memories [ Spritzie-kun ]

Even before Colton reached the bedroom, the girl had detected that he was there. The teen narrowed his eyes, hating the fact that he was, to be frank, intimadated by her. If she was just a regular person, it would have been different. Heck, he wouldn't have a problem picking on her, if it came right down to it. Colton resumed a casual stance, sliding his hands deep into his pockets and stepping forward, a jaunty swagger in touching his stride. He used the rubber toe of his hightop to push open the door, the laces undone. The voice immedietly started taunting him, but he managed to keep his cool, and also a straight face. But his eyes gave away what he was feeling, a pulsing exitement and a hint of cautious curiousity that made them sparkle in the dim sunlight that filtered into the dirty room.

Dust was heavy in the air, and he could see that the particals coated everything in sight, making it dull and dirty. Sliding one of his hands out of his pocket, he placed a finger on the dresser top and traced a sharp line in the dust. Warm cherry wood could faintly be seen, and Colton turned his twinkling blue eyes back to the mirror, holding a slight shard of mischeif.
"Who said I came back to help you, eh?"
Colton cleared his throat, his throat catching in a very embarrasing manner. Then he noticed that the mirror itself was unspoiled, untouched by the dirt and grime that coated everything else. The reflective surface held the image of the girl, her skin looking pale and smooth, almost as if she was made out of wax. She had wide, intelegant eyes framed by long, thick lashes, complimenting her high carved cheekbones and full pink lips.
She had long bluish hair that swirled around her face, an invisable breeze playing in the shimmering strands. The girl was also wearing a long flowing lavender dress, that reached to the ground, the soft material gently coressing her bare ankles.

Cocking his head jauntily to one side, Colton dug into his pocket. His fingers grazed across the ring, and he quickly grabbed it, pulling it into view. "I just came to return the ring, nothing more." He turned, placing the gem on the dressers surface. It, along with the mirror, were the only things that caught any attentio in the room. The teen didn't approach the mirror, however eying it warrily, his feet planted to the floor and positioned near the open door.
His wide blue eyes traveled back to the girls face, and he pursed his lips together harshly. Colton wasn't sure why he had returned the ring, but it had almost felt like an excuse to come back. Inwardly, he knew it was because the mirror intrigued him, but he wouldn't ever admit to that in his lifetime. Under that hard shell, someone meeker and quieter was still to be found. He wasn't wearing a shirt, as it was far too hot outside. Even in the beginning of June, the summer had started to persist, and the tempature was in the eighties already. His tanned skin was slightly coated with a thin sheen of sweat, the humidity making his hair stick to his forhead. He was forced to remove his hat, running a hand through his hair and pressing it back onto his head at a jaunty angle.

Grace wondered why this boy was making so much noise. If he wanted to be a bad-boy (didn't that come with thievery?) he was going to have to work on his stealth. She had better stealth in her little finger than he had in his whole body. Either that, or he just extremely nervous about something. What it was, Grace was pretty much clueless. She stared at him when he came in, frowning in distaste of his clothing--or at least, his lack of it. Instead of commenting on it first thing, he'd spoken something. Rolling her eyes, Grace replied, "I told you yesterday that you would be back." Grace smirked gently, pulling some of her purple-blue tinted hair behind her ear, her eyes scanning him with heavy intentness. She grimaced as he continued talking, and she wished he would just shut up and get her out of her mirror.

When he pulled out the ring and placed it on the dusty dresser, Grace fell silent, even though she hadn't been talking. Her eyes dulled slightly as she thought about Ty, and she placed one of her hands against the surface of the mirror, barely noticing the tears that trickled down her cheeks. Seeing as she was a ghost, they weren't normal-looking. Instead, they were a silvery 'liquid' that highly resembled the toxic mercury. She wished with all her heart that she could be out there, to be able to hold the ring in her hands again, and to have the remberence of Ty's precious memories.

Suddenly realizing she was crying, Grace wiped off the tears with the back of her wrist and shook her head, looking back up and squinting at him. He was sweating a tad, making his skin sheen and sleek. Grace frowned at him, and commented sarcastically, "What's with your hideous...lack of clothing?" Grace asked, cocking an eyebrow and crossing her arms, giving him a look that most mothers would give their sons when they got a piercing on their lip or tongue.

Colton hated that the girl was taunting him, reminding him that she had already said he would be back. He set his jaw, unknowingly chewing on his lower lip.
"I know, I didn't say I wouldn't be back."
Colton shrugged, looking cocky and smug. He immedietly noticed that her eyes were drawn to the ring, and her expression melted into one of deep thoughtfulness, almost looking like she was saddened just to see it again. Colton blinked once, before turning his eyes away from her face, and back to the ring that was sitting on the dreser top. It wasn't that he felt bad, but he didn't understand why she was... sad to see it again. The gem captured the faint sunlight, making it sparkle and shine as if it was glowing itself. The teen wondered what sort of jewel it was, as it wasn't like something he had ever seen before. He had already stolen a few diamonds, but they looked nothing like this.

Colton's gaze soon returned to the girl's face, but he was surprised to see silver tears cascading down her cheeks. Her face was pale, eyes looking like they held a world of torment in their depths. Without knowing it, Colton stepped forward, his hightops squeeking slightly on the old wood floor below him. He was in the right mindset to ask her what was wrong, but decided on a whim that he wasn't the one to ask her that, as it might be rude. It wasn't his place to ask her about herself, as he was just a stranger in her world. "I brought the ring back-" Colton felt the need to clarify the fact, let her know that he wasn't going to take it for himself. He found no desire to take it anyway, despite the value it must have held.
The moment passed quickly however, and Colton shook his head as she taunted him, probably trying to get his mind off of her tears. His softer demenor suddenly stiffened, and his face grew taught and hard. Narrowing his eyes, he shoved his hands into his pockets and leaned to the side, looking like he didn't care about a single thing in the world.
"I would think that would be my concern, not yours. So I'm suggesting that you mind your own buisness, chick."

Grace nodded, "I see that," she whispered, her eyes flicking back momentarily to where the ring lay, motionless. A glint flickered in her eyes, reflecting the jewel's brightness. It was nice to see it again, though it was definately a saddening, humbling experience. Grace sighed and shook her head, staring crudely at the boy as he referred to her as a 'chick.' It wasn't a term she was used to hearing. In fact, this was the first time she'd ever heard it. Grace pulled some stray strands of hair behind her ear, and shook her head, "Yes, but it's..." Grace faltered a moment. She wanted to just drop the conversation right there, seeing as she really had no complaints on the muscular boy's appearance, but she continued after a moment's thought, allowing a tone of disgust to coat her words thickly, in a very convincing manner, "It's disturbing to others. Being half naked. There's something wrong with that." Grace sneered.

After a moment's thought, she shrugged, "Anyways, since you're here, and I'm here, we might as well do a little planning." Grace fingered the delicate yet unbreakable surface of the mirror. She, honestly, had no idea how to get out of this mirror. Not an idea in the slightest. Grace sighed, "Well, I'm Grace, to begin with..." Grace looked around through the room, then shrugged. "It's sort of lonely in here, as you can see, and you have the choker around your neck, so I'm assuming you can help me." Grace frowned, deciding to reword her declarative statement a tad, "I'm not actually just assuming, I'm educatedly guessing. Which means I'm right."

Grace looked around the small room, glancing over the ring for a moment, unwilling to think about it's preciousness to her. "So, I was hoping that maybe you could get me out of here, preferably without destroying the mirror, ultimately destroying me and then not giving me the chance to escape at all." Grace shrugged, "Got any ideas?"
