Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Her tender words made Zane's heart pang with longing, with hurt, with pain. He felt a growing rush from his soul, and knew that now, after what had happened today, after they had shared thier first kisses with eachother, it would be a thousand times harder to leave today, and to not come back. The point of breaking, the time where Zane knew his fate was sealed. There was only a slim, narrow chance that he would come back, and Zane looked down, away from her troubled hazel eyes, his own a sea of unsaid, unreadable emotion.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Kallie started to stand up, the blood had been washed off, and the worst was only her eye. She needed to go back. She was still deciding what to tell the villagers, she wasn't so sure the truth would do good for either her and deffinetly not Vlad. She looked at Zane, with a small sigh. "If you must go, leave now while there's still day to travel" she said, her voice shook as she said the words. She had a determined expression on her face. She knew she would wait for him her whole life if she had too.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Zane clenched his jaw, stiffly looking down. His chest rose and fell with each slow breath, and his brows were drawn together. He pushed himself to his feet, and nodded, his eyes threatening to spill if he didn't get control of himself. Clenching his fists slightly, he parted his cracked lips slightly, before looking back to Kallie.
"I'll do my best to come back." His voice was hoarse, and cracked as he spoke, before gently brushing the hair out of her eyes. "Promise me, that if I dont come back, you'll live your life to its fullest," He stumbled for words. "And you wont think of me."

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Kallie let a small smile come to her lips, as she looked up at him. One tear came down her face but she quickly wiped it away. "I know, you don't think you will come back, but i'll always be thinking of you" she said putting her hand on his cheek. She nodded her head "I will live my life the way I should." she said quickly. She would live her life, but never with another man. She didn't think she could trust any now, except for Zane. She took a step back, "I can get back to the village on my own now. You should go" she choked out.

"It's that way." Zane turned, gesturing to the way the village sat. Giving a small nod, he strode past her, and quickly placed his hands on the horses withers, lifting himself up on the horse and swinging his leg over. Arion snorted softly, lifting his head, his bay coat flashing in the sunlight, muscles highlighted as he pawed the ground anxiously. He gave her one last nod, and a tiny smile, before telling the steed to leave. The horse quickly broke into a smooth trot, and turning around as he started to make his way away from her, he gave a slight wave, leaving her alone near the creek, the rag still in her hands.

Kallie watched him, her eyes shining. She stood in place holding the rag to her, she lifted one hand to wave at him. She stood there until he had vanished. "Goodbye Zane." she said soflty to herself before turning around and heading back the village.

(Great!!)
Zane felt a single tear slide down his cheek, and didn't wipe it away. Kicking Arion into a canter, they traveled through the wheat feild, away from the village, as Zane had to meet the rest of the warriors at the meeting place a few miles from here. It was well known where it was, and tonight was the assembly when they would all meet with the general, who would in turn pick who he would choose for the battle, and take his new recruits to the battle site.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Kallie finally reached the village after a long walk from the forest. There weren't too many people out, so she slipped into the house unnoticed. Softly closing the door behind her, she tried to get into her room as quickly as possible. "My God, Whatever Happened to you Kalledia" Kallie flinched as she saw Anna, her face clearly distraught. Kallie sighed, "Anna, I was in the forest with Vlad when a bandit showed up, he almost killed us both if it wasn't for Zane" she said quickly trying to keep a straight face. She couldn't understand why she didn't tell the truth. Just that she didn't want to. Anna raced over and gave her a big hug. "We'll wash you off," Kallie shook her head, "If you don't mind I'd like to be alone" she said quietly before walking away into her own room.
She opened her shutters, letting the sunet's light seep into her room. She walked over to the large mirror and sat in front of it. She studied herself in the mirror. The swelling had gone down, but now her eye was surrounded by a black bruise. She sighed, she looked like she'd gone through so much. She narrowed her gaze and started to think of Zane, on the battle field. She allowed herself to think of he could die. She shook her head quickly, refusing to think of that. She knew she would constantly be wondering where he was, what he was doing, or whether he was alive or not. Kallie sighed, if only she could've gone with him. She could've been by his side. Nevertheless, as a women she would never be able to.
"As a women..." Kallie looked up into the mirror. A thought, a plan, striked into her mind. She knew it might get her killed. If she was found out, she'd be killed for sure. She knew from the fact that, Zane had come to warn everyone there was a chance she'd be killed too. Or be captured. She shuddered at the thought. She took her long hair and put into a ponytail in the back. She looked at herself in the mirror before drawing a breath. Her hair was, her favorite part about her, but she knew what she had to do now. She opened a drawer and took a small dagger out. She picked up some of her hair, closed her eyes, and cut it off. The long locks fell to the ground. She opened her eyes, stiffled a gasp and did the same to the other side. The short hair actually didn't look that bad. It framed her face, she pushed it back with one hand.
She stood up from the mirror and walked out of her room, being as quite as possible. She opened Anna's room and went into her closet. There hanging, was her husband's war clothes. He had died before Kallie had come and she never met him. She took them, along with the sword and ran into her room grabbing the clothes. She quickly put them on, feeling bulky. She looked in the mirror. Thanks to the black eye, she didn't look to much like a girl. The armor hid any curves, and by looking at her body you couldn't tell. She grabbed a tin, that was beside her mirror and rubbed the side, coming back up with black dust onto her fingers. She dabbed it onto her face. She had to admit she had done a good job.
She set her torn dress down onto her bed and picked up the sword, putting into a sheath. She quickly packed a bag with a few essentials before leaving the house. Making her way into the stables. She blew out a breath, she still wasn't too sure if she could ride a horse on her own. She chose one of the calm stallion, quickly saddled him up and mounted. It was close to night now, and it was dark. She hoped she wouldn't be seen. On her way out of the barn she caught sight of Vlad laughing with the other men. A spurt of anger coursed through her, and she kicked her heels into the Stallions side with a loud. "Yaa!" He took off at a gallop out of the village, she heard loud shouts from the men. She didn't look back

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
The firelight played over the faces of the men assembled, revealing thier multiple scars and bruises from battles not long ago. Some were drinking ale, some were talking, some were staring at the fire. Zane was in the last catagory, slumped down, his dark eyes reflecting the firelight. As he heard the men boasting about thier own women, he shook his head in discust. How ignorant they were! How rude, and heartless! Only days before, he had thought about women the same way, almost like toys, dolls that were pretty to look at, but useless.
His hand curled into a fist unknowingly, fingernails pressing into the flesh of his palm. His cloak and shirt were tossed to the side, the firelight playing over the muscles that were profound on his chest, back hunched slightly. A sudden sound in the foliedge made him raise his head. It was too quiet for the others to hear, but he had for some reason been listening. Arion raised his head from the patch of clover he had been grazing on, shaking his head and nickering slightly.
Zane's sharp brown eyes watched expectantly as a figure made its way out of the shadows. Not a one of the drunken men seemed to notice, but Zane did. His eyes traveled over the figure, who slowly made his way towards the fire, slumping down in the shadows. Something about the face was familiar, but Zane couldn't place it. He was sitting nearest to the stranger, and cleared his throat, before speaking gruffly.
"Welcome."
The figure under the armor seemed to be small, and looked rather out of place. "Were not heading out to battle yet, why the armor?" He asked, before shrugging. His own armor was cast to the side, wearing his leather breetches and no shirt. Swigging a long drink of the ale, he pushed it off to the side and stared into the fire, not expecting an answer from the new, rather mysterious stranger.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
The journey was rough on Kallie. She still wasn't quite comfortable riding the stallion who she had named Bruce, because she hated just calling him Stallion. She'd fallen off a good four times, adding to the pain on her already sore body. The armour wasn't helping either. She wondered how warriors could even move around in them. She finally reached the camp. She could feel a smile on her face. Finally... she gave Bruce a pat on the neck as they started to walk over to it.
It was dark when she finally reached the camp. She had signed up for the army in front of a man who really didn't care who joined or not. She hadn't really thought of the name she would give herself so she used the first thing that popped into mind, Kole. The man shook his head at her, mumbling something about how skinny, and lanky she was and how she would die on the first day. Kallie ingored him, taking her tent number which she had to herself (Thank God).
After putting the scroll into her pants, she walked into the camp. Seeing a fire and drunk men around it, she narrowed her eyes. Her heart almost beat out of her chest when she saw Zane. She knew that if he got a good look at her, he would recognize her. Her heart finally won out. She took a couple of steps towards him, hoping that he would just place her as a young boy. She slumped down beside him, keeping her head down. Her eyes travelled around his face. She couldn't get enough of him. He spoke, she cleared her throat. Doing her best to make her voice sound deep and ruggy. She was getting good at this. "I've just ridden in" she said with a small shrug and tore her gaze away from him.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Zane looked away from the young man, who looked skinny and out of place. He had black smudges on his cheeks and quickly looked away as Zane turned his eyes on him. "Why so timid? No need to be fearful here, you're with friends." Zane was trying his hardest to be friendly to this young man, as he reminded himself of what he had been when he first had left the village and come here to sign up for the war. "Go ahead and take that armor off. It's not comefortable, I know." He said, throwing his arms over his head and stretching, the firelight playing across his chest as he did so.
Something about the boy intriuged him very much, and he looked him over from head to toe, trying to place where he had seen him before, but nothing came to mind, his thoughts turning up blank.
It also seemed like Arion had taken a fascination to the boy, and now sniffed at his hair, giving an exited whicker as he did so, tossing his head in the air. The general had told Zane to tie up his horse, but he hadn't listened. There was no need to, and he sighed heavilly.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Kallie looked at him trying to be friendly, she wanted to smile. Throw herself into his arms and tell him. She was so close to him yet so far away. She didn't respond to him, just watched the fire. She was worried that if she tried to talk it would all come out in a big rush. Instead she just shook her head. She let her eyes travel onto his chest, and cursed herself for doing so. She had to really start acting like a man if she wanted to pull this off. A searching expression came to Zane's face and she dilebertly looked away. Wishing she had her long hair to hide her face with.
The next thing she knew she felt Arion's muzzle on her hair. She felt slightly nervous, she knew that Arion knew exactly who she was by her scent. Then she relaxed, knowing that he wouldn't give her away. "Shh Arion..." she whispered to him, so quiet that Zane wouldn't of been able to hear. She stole another look at Zane.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
"Uh..." Zane struggled for words, and frowned slightly, drawing his brows together. He rested his hands on his knees, and leaned forward, nudging an ember with the toe of his boot slightly. "Where you sleeping?" He asked lamley, and gestured to the tent that was crudley set up behind him. It was made out of canvas and was small, so he hoped that whoever he was sharing it with wouldn't be a big man. Glancing a look at Arion, who seemed rather exited, he did a double take as he saw a stallion that was lazily resting by the young mans side. The horse looked familiar too, and Zane cursed under his breath, something he only did when there was only men around.
"What's your name?"
"What's your name?"

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Kallie looked at him. he might be able to tell her how to get around, and where she'd be sleeping. That much he'd help her with. Kallie took out the scroll and handed it to him. "It says there," she said in her gruff voice. "Im not sure where though.." she trailed off hoping he didn't think badly of her already as a soldier. She looked at Arion who still hadn't calmed down, she held in a sigh. This was going to be harder than she thought. He heard him curse under his breath and she bit her tongue from laughing. She'd never heard any men curse around her, especially not Zane. She looked up, and almost forgot her make-shift name for a second.."Umm..Kole" she said quickly lowering her gaze again.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Zane looked up, and grabbed the scroll in his hand, unrolling it and easilly reading the number that was scribbled in black ink, that was slightly smeared. He nodded and handed it back to him, before gesturing over his shoulder to the tent. "It's that one. I'm in it too." He said, his voice soft. He wasn't sure how long he could stay here, so close to the village. He was tempted to sneak back and see Kallie for just one more time, even if she was sleeping.
"Kole, alright." The name didn't ring a bell, and he was glad of it. The stars shone brightly overhead, twinkling and winking slightly in the raven black sky.
"I'm going to head off to bed."

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Kallie looked at him, when he said that they would be sleeping in the same tent. What? She had thought that she had gotten a tent on her own. She wasn't sure if she could handle sleeping in the same tent as him. She put a fist to her head cursing under her breath. Why, of all the tents....why that one. She sighed, knowing she'd just have to try and deal with it, and try to keep her secret. She nodded her head, "Alright, I guess I will too, just tend to my horse first" she said and got up, looking over her shoulder before walking over to Bruce. She took her pack that was still hanging off the side of his saddle, with everything in it. She gave him a pat on the shoulder. "I don't know if i can do this" she said softly before hanging it onto her back, giving him some grain and heading off to the tent.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Zane gave a curt nod, before he quickly stood, brushing himself off and ducking into the tent. They each had one single blanket, that was rather scratchy and small, but it would do. He quickly lay down in the small enclosure, raising his arms behind his head and staring at the roof above them. He was mystified by this young man, and shook his head. Arion snorted outside, quickly trotting off after him, and Zane knew that something was odd, something was different. Shaking his head, he turned on his side and threw the blanket to the side. He knew that some of the men slept nude, and he prayed this young one wasn't going to do that.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Kallie stopped outside of the tent taking a deep breath. She was wearing a some loose pants, and a shirt that belonged to Anna's husband. Before she had left, she had wrapped her chest with bandages, to make her breast's smaller. At first she could barely breath, now she had gotten use to it and you could barely tell. Only if you stared in that place for a while, which she doubted he would do. She took another breath before walking in. She thanked that it was dark in the tent and she could barely see him . She stepped into her sleeping place and lied down pulling the blanket up to her chin, with a small sigh.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Zane heard a slight rustling of a tent flap, and raised his head to see that Kole had entered the tent. Grunting softly, he lowered his head back to the ground, before realizing this was probably the poor boys first night alone, away from home. "Get used to it, we usually have to sleep on rocks." He muttered, before closing his eyes. Wearing no shirt, he crossed his arms over his chest, turning on his back, his dark hair ruffled slightly atop his head.

Kallie closed her eyes and smiled "Well i'll have plenty of time too..." she said. She knew that they headed out in the morning, the day to come frightened her. She wasn't ever the one for blood and gore, and she hated violence. She'd love to see her actions in a battle, and with that last thought in her mind, she drifted into a light cold sleep.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
~*~*~
The harsh sound of the captian striding through the camp made Zane raise his head, then quickly pushed Kole with his arm. "Wake up, time to go." Throwing his arms over head and stretching, he arched his back, and groaned slightly, before ruffling through the saddle bag, and pulling out a loose fitting shirt, that he slipped over his head. It hung loosly around his neck, and he pushed himself up, crawling out of the tent just as the captain made his round, kicking at the bodies inside the tents, to wake them up.
"Morning Captian." He said, and received a curt nod.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Kallie woke up to Zane pushing her with his arm, she held back a loud mon burying herself deeper into the blankets. She heard him getting dressed and ready, then she opened her eyes with a small gasp remembering where she was. She saw that Zane had already left the tent. She cursed loudly, and got up quickly grabbing the pair of boots from the side of the tent. Putting one on, and jumping on one foot as she put the other on. She stumbled out of the tent and almost crashed into Zane. "Sorry" she exclaimed and cleared her throat "excuse me" she said once more going back to her man voice. She could almost slap her forhead with her palm. She was already making an idiot of herself.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Zane raised his eyebrow as Kole crashed into him, uttering out a few words in a high pitched voice, before he quickly cleared his throat, and continued to speak. Shrugging, Zane guessed that he had just hit pueberty, and slapped a heavy hand down on his shoulder, squeezing it slightly. "You'll get used to it." He nodded slightly, before leaning down and tying on his own boot, tightly securing it to his foot. He gestured to Kole's horse with his thumb. "He yours? Beautiful animal."

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Kallie almost bit her tongue again from laughing. She knew that she'd crack eventually...but not yet. She made sure her clothes were all properly on. She bent down and buckled her boots up. She looked up at Zane, her blond hair was a disheveled mess, she hadn't really cut it properly and it was spiking up in different ways. She made sure not too look at him for too long, so that he wouldn't make the connection. Knowing he'd recognize her by her bright jade green eyes. She looked at Bruce, "umm yea he's mine" she said with a quick nod.

Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)
Zane strode over and stroked the stallion lightly on the neck, nodding. "I swear I've seen him before..." He muttered softly, before turning back to Kole. "You're lucky to have such a fine animal you know. Take good care of him, because he'll likley save your rear in battle." Striding away from the horse, Zane ducked inside of the tent, pulling out his own saddle bags and gesturing for Kole to come over and help. "You know how to take down a tent?"
