Faerie's Curse (Spritz) - Page 2 Empty Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)

A slight rustling of fabric, the parting of grass made Zane break out of his peaceful trance, and he blinked once, his brown hair gently ruffling in the wind. He knew who it was, as there was only one person that would do that. He remembered the times they used to sit here together, and shook his head. That was back then. This was now, and now was the only thing that should matter to either of them. Pushing the painful memories to the side, he lifted his head, the sunlight glinting on the white flesh of the scar, that stood out on his tanned skin. He looked to his left, and saw Kallie's dress fluttering near him, the fabric brushing against his hardened muscular arm.
"Hello Kallie." Unlike before, his voice was soft, holding distant pain and loss in its tone. His dark brown eyes were troubled, and emotion swirled deep in thier depths.

Kallie watched his face, there was mourning in his cold eyes, that use to be full of so much joy. She almost could hear him teasing her, splashing her with water as they played together. She closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again, to see that he was staring at her. She lowered her gaze and started to play with the necklace that was hanging around her neck, a present from Vlad. She opened her mouth to correct him, not wanting him to use her old nickname, as it brought up too many memories, but she said nothing. "Zane..." she said quietly looking back up at him. She was searching for words that wouldn't come, all she could come up with was. "Why?"

Zane's eyes traveled to where her slender fingers were twirling a neclace, that was secured around her neck. He had seen Vlad look at her, and for some reason his heart panged slightly as he thought of someone else loving Kallie. Moving his dark eyes away from her face, back to the pond, he set his jaw as she spoke, her voice blending in with the surroundings, almost like a faint, beautiful whisper.
"Why not." He answered, his voice not sounding the way he had hoped. Instead of cold and hostile, it was warm and rather sad.

Kallie looked at him, slightly hurt, she tried not too let it show. She followed his gaze back at the pond. "Your right...there was nothing keeping you here" she said softly. She then turned to look at him, she had a straight face and took a small breath before letting go of the necklace, unaware that Zane had made the connection. "I'd like to know, what that outbreak was in your father's cabin." She said, her soft voice vanishing back into her proper voice that she used with everyone except for the old Zane and Anna.

"Everything was keeping me here." Zane growled softly, his eyes growing hard, muscles taught. "Everything. You, my father, everything that was important to me then! If I hadn't left, we would all have been destroyed!" He pushed himself to his feet, urgently gesturing with his hands. A magnolia petal drifted down onto his shoulder, and he grabbed it, tearing the delecate petal in half, and letting the broken pieces flutter dejectedly to the ground. His eyes held so much emotion and pain, that it was hard to comprehend what could have done this to him.
His lips were cracked and split, hands hard and calloused, and he just shook his head, pain swirling in his deep eyes. "You dont understand. I doubt you'll ever understand. But I'm leaving, soon." He brushed past her, his shoulder touching hers slightly.

Kallie took a step back, her eyes glazed with confusion. He was getting angry at her, again like in the Klause's house. She did not like this new side of him, he never got angry or loud with her before he had left. No one ever did. She looked at him, and saw so much pain in his eyes, that it hurt her to even look into them. Something tore her on the inside. She wanted to help him. She flinched slightly as he tore the leaf, but didn't take her eyes off his. "Then help me to understand" she said and took a step towards him, as he started to walk away from her. She put a hand on his shoulder firmly. "Don't leave yet" she said quickly, she couldn't let him leave again.

Zane stopped as he felt her familiar hand grip his shoulder tightly, his muscles taught and tense. He didn't dare look into her eyes, and set his jaw firmly. "I cant." His voice was husky and low. "I cant help anyone." Pulling away from her, he strode through the long green grass, back to the village, and away from the pond without another word to her, or to himself.

Kallie let her hand drop, she watched him walk away, she could bear watching him leave again, it would be too much for her already. She knew he would at least stay the night, she would try talking to him again in the morning. She looked up seeing that it was already getting dark. She walked her fastest back to Anna, knowing she would be wondering where she had gone. She took off her shoes, and started to run faster towards the hut that she shared with her. She reached it quickly, opening the door and stepping inside, getting ready for the night.

Faerie's Curse (Spritz) - Page 2 Empty Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)

Post by Spritz Sat Nov 05, 2011 5:34 pm

Pushing open the door of his fathers cabin, he stepped inside, to see the stooped figure still gazing over the map. "I'll be sleeping outside tonight." He said quietly, before turning and shutting the door behind him.
A few minutes later, he was making his way back towards the woods, and brought his fingers up to his lips, closing his eyes. A sharp whistle rang out in the still silence, followed by a high, peircing whinny. Zane let a small smile cross his lips, and he stopped, leaning against the single tall oak tree that was in the middle of the wheat feild, just north of the village. As he looked down, he saw the lights from the small fires, and his eyes settled on what he thought was Kallie's cabin, but he quickly pulled his eyes away as he heard hard hoofbeats coming closer. Turning around, he was greeted by a site he longed to see. The charger that had so faithfully borne him through the battle's of his years was galloping towards him, head held high, black mane flying out behind him.

"Kalledia?" Anna walked out of the small room and saw her at the door, "Kalledia, its late you should've been inside by now" she said giving her a stern look. "Im sorry Anna, I was held up" she said dipping her head slightly. "I apolgize" she said respectfully. Anna just held back a small smile. "Well then, go to your room, and yes..." she said as she walked back into her own room. Anna was never quite comfortable by Kallie's.....curse. She didn't mind though, she understood it had to be kept a secret. Kallie walked into the room and took off the green dress, underneath was a small white gown that she always wore. She waited until the moon became clear in the sky.

"Arion...." Zane's voice was low and quiet, the stallions head pressed agaisnt his chest. He stroked his cheek softly, fingers running over his shining bay hide, then rested his forhead against the animals. They shared a silent comunication one with another, and each ones deep brown eyes looked into eachothers. The stallion sighed heavily, followed by Zane's own sigh. Little did he know, he was in plain sight of all the villagers, his siloughette cast as the moon shone down. Stroking the scar on the stallions thick muscular neck, he set his jaw quietly, then pulled away, turning to the tree and slumping down. The stallion automaticly fell to his knees beside the young man, lying down in the wheat and resting his muzzle in Zane's lap.

Kallie went to her window to shut it, then she saw movement in the tree's. She knew it was Zane, she watched him for a moment before feeling the moon's pull against her. She shut the window quickly, flinching at the loud bang against the wood. She sat on her bed, waiting. Until she felt her wings start to unfold from her back. She arched in painfully, but it was a good kind of pain. Like taking a band-aid off a sore thats been healed. She opened her eyes, her white gown was shimmering and she fluttered the gorgeous wings behind her, even if she only experienced this for an hour every night. It still felt amazing. She raised her hands, playing with the light for the next hour. Before into a deep sleep as she did every night.

It was still dark, but Zane was awake, even before the sun awoke. He was standing near the charger, gently patting him with his hard hand. The stallion tossed his head and pawed the ground anxiously, eying the carcass of the deer that lie at his feet. Looping the rope expertly around the deers leg, and the other end around the neck of the stallion, he gently started to lead the beast back towards the village, dragging the deer behind them. Within a few minutes they were past the wheat feild, just as the sun started to rise, they reached the village, hauling in breakfast for the villagers.

Kallie woke, her golden hair tangled and sleep was in her eyes. She yawned and sat up, rubbing her eyes. She stood up, getting out of bed and walked out of her room. "Kalledia, put some clothes on!" Anna shouted from the hallway. Kallie looked at her, always moody in the morning, "I have clothes on." she said sleepily. Anna chuckled, "such an improper child..." she trailed off going into the small sitting area, she came back with a brown box and gave it to Kallie, who raised an eyebrow. "Whats this?" Anna smiled. "Open it," So she did, inside was a gorgeous sky blue gown. Kallie gasped as she took it out. "Its beautiful" she said beaming at the soft flowing fabric. Anna smiled "Yes i was going to give it to you yesterday but..." Kallie shook her head. "I shall put it on today," she said beaming. She quickly went into her room putting it on, it hugged her sides. Her blond hair was still a mess, but Anna fixed that putting half of it into a low bread, the other half of her hair flowed down her back. Anna smiled "Dear you looked like a princess" Kallie laughed, and then remembered Zane, and frowned slightly. She needed to find him today.

(Ok)

The charger stopped, throwing his head high into the air and letting out a shrill whinny as he saw the few other horses the villagers owned. Zane winced slightly, and shushed the steed, gently stroking his cheek. Zane had always had an uncanny love for animals, and had a way with them. The stallion imedietly quieted, and Zane took off the loop or rope around his neck. The horse was free to move away, leave him, but didn't staying near his side and resting his muzzle on Zanes shoulder as he knelt down near the main cooking fire, pulling out his skinning knife and starting on the deer.

Kallie walked out of the house, the sun shone brightly in the blue sky. She saw Vlad talking to some men over by the pit. She narrowed her gaze trying to find him. She did, she saw Zane and a large deer in front of the fire. She hated to see dead animals, she barely ate meet. Zane had always teased her for it before. She shrugged away more memories and started to walk towards him. Being cut off by Vlad walking over to her with a big smile on his face. "Good Morning Kalledia...." he said and dipped his head. Kallie gave a polite smile back. "Hello Vlad" Vlad kept smiling, "I see your wearing the dress," Kallie was looking over his shoulder watching Zane and barely heard him. "Hmm?" Vlad moved his head cutting off her vision. "The Dress...I had it made for you, a gift." Kallie felt her cheeks flaming. She got flustered and didn't know how to respond...she was going to get furious with Anna later.

Faerie's Curse (Spritz) - Page 2 Empty Re: Faerie's Curse (Spritz)

Post by Spritz Sat Nov 05, 2011 6:47 pm

Zane raised his head from his work, and saw that Kallie had come out into the sunlight. She was wearing a shimmering blue dress that hugged her in just the right places, and dipped low over her chest. Zane mentally punched himself and tore his eyes away, lingering on her neclace and a bit lower. Shaking his head, he hoped he hadn't seen her, and quickly hacked away at the deer's hide, the blood coating his hands as he worked. The charger snorted as he saw Kallie, and whickered softly, nibbling on Zane's hair and tugging on it slightly, making Zane wince and tap his muzzle, making the horse stop, looking at him in a confused manner.
"Arion, you're such a chicken." He commented, and the horse gave a slow whicker, as if he was agreeing with him. When Vlad stepped forward, Zane stiffened, hating to see him talk, look, or even think about Kallie.

Vlad looked at her, his expression slightly confused. "Well don't you like it? Well of course you do, you wouldn't be wearing it." he said with a smug grin. This set Kallie off, she started to get impatient. "Yes...I do like it, thank you Vlad now if you excuse me..." she said sidestepping away from him. Vlad grabbed her arm quickly "I'd like to talk somewhere, later Kalledia in private, meet me at noon in front of the small creek" he said with a smile giving her a kiss on the cheek and walking away without waiting for a response. Kallie clenched her fists, before taking a deep breath and walking over to Zane who's hands were now covered in the deer's blood. She held her breath, trying not to be squeamish. "Zane..." she said walking over to him, standing over him and the deer. "I...Im sorry about yesterday..." she said quietly, looking at him with a concerned expression on her face.

Post by Spritz Sat Nov 05, 2011 6:59 pm

Zane gritted his teeth silently as Vlad kissed Kallie on the cheek, and looked down at the deer before he could see her reaction, afraid of what he would see. As he worked furiously at the deer, he almost sliced his own finger, and after taking the hide off of the deer and gutting it, he left it to the others to finish it off. Standing, he wiped his bloody hands on his pants, his lips pursed, knuckles white as he clenched his fists, still angry with Vlad. He gave a stiff nod, before looking down her figure. "It's a beautiful dress. To bad I wasn't the one to give it to you." He said roughly, not knowing what his own words meant. He was furious that she had accepted the dress from him in the first place, and was now wearing the neclace and the dress. "You're getting wed to that bastard, arent you?" He muttered, before brushing past her, the stallion quickly trotting to catch up.

Kallie watched him, gut the deer her cheeks were still red from her encounter with Vlad, it wasn't that she didn't like him but just, Vlad was not the man for her, she'd go insane . Her stomach feeling queasy as she saw all the blood. She kept her eyes on Zane's face so she didn't see the deer. He stood and Kallie breathed a sigh of relief, not having to look down on him anymore, but then she saw his angry expression. What did she do now? She saw his eyes travel over her, and for some reason the first thought that came to mind was. I hope he thinks I look alright, I wonder what he thinks of me She gave a small smile when he complimented her dress but then lost it immediately as he continued. "What? Zane?" she said confused. She'd love the dress, so much more if he had, but she bit her lip. Confused about his words. She then turned angry. "I am not, i'm not being wed to anybody!" she started to say loudly, a few heads turned and she lowered it. She followed him as he started to walk away. "I don't even like him in that way, and why do you care anyhow" she said walking faster to cut in front of him. She stood there looking up at him. Green eyes flashing. She was shorter, and so much smaller than him, but she refused to be intimidated by his anger anymore.

"Why does it matter." He said softly, pushing her to the side as she deliberatly, stepped in front of him. Arion tugged on his hair again, and Zane set his jaw, looking to the side and standing still. "Arion, I swear, if you do that-" The horse tugged on his hair again. Rolling his eyes flipped the hood over his head, and touched the beast's muzzle as he tried to pull it off. It of course, fell off, and Zane purposly stepped so he could see what Arion was up to next. His deep brown eyes looked into Kallie's and he felt Vlad staring at the pair.
"You going to see him?" He asked quietly, sounding more like a curious friend, and he mentaly congradulated himself. Little did he know that woman saw straight through the disquise.

Kallie had already lost her patience with Vlad. She was getting annoyed by both Vlad and Zane. "It matters to me" she said quickly, and tired to move around his arm she watched Arion pull of some tricks with Zane and she couldn't help but smile, even with her foul mood. She met Zane's gaze and sighed softly loosing the energy to fight. She didn't notice Vlad was staring at them, but then again she wouldn't of cared. She nodded cautiously, knowing Zane was just trying to sound curious. "I don't know, I think I must, i'll just talk to him. Maybe put him off for a couple of months before he tries again" she said quietly. "He's been like that ever since you left" she couldn't help adding.

Everything then fell into place. Of course it would! Vlad wanted Zane to leave, because that way he would have a chance at Kallie! Anger boiled in Zane's veins, and he set his jaw tightly. "Yes, well it really doesent matter, because I'm leaving tonight anyway." He said, sounding tired and defeated. He swung up on the large horses back, and glanced down at Kallie. "You want to come for a ride?" He didn't realize what he had said untill the words had left his mouth. Shooting a deadly glare at Vlad and daring him to say otherwise, he pursed his lips and grabbed a handful of the bridleless horses mane.

Kallie watched his reaction, she lowered her gaze slightly away from him suddenly feeling ashamed that she hadn't stopped Vlad before it got too far. Suddenly the necklace around her neck felt dirty and she wanted to take it off. She looked up, her eyes wide. "You can't, you can't just leave again" she said quickly her voice slightly shook. There were too many feelings coursing through her right now. She watched him get up on his horse. She gave Arion a nervous look, she had never ridden horse-back before. She thought about Vlad, not wanting to make him angry with her, she just hated when people were angry with her. He would understand. She nodded up at Zane "Yes, I would" she answered him.

Vlad watched the two, trying to get closer too hear their conversation. He lips set in an angry line as he glared at Zane. He had finally gotten his chance at the most beautiful girl in the village, and just him being here was ruining everything. He had planned to ask her to wed him today...

A pleased smile crossed Zane's face, and he reached down a hand towards Kallie. He felt someone looking at them and turned, just in time to see a scowling Vlad, who looked downright hostile. Zane tutted slightly, then swung her up in front of him, settling her arms around her waist. "You're soon to be fieonce doesent seem very happy." He said quietly, before lightly pressing his heels into Arion's sides, making the horse walk forward. "Believe me, I see the way he looks at you." He said quietly, and suddenly cheering erupted from behind them. Craning his neck, he saw the women clapping at the pair, and he felt his face flush pink, turning his face away from them.
