Leah stared at him, confused. He didn’t speak; didn’t answer her question. Before she knew it, he drew her in a hug. Leah didn’t hug him back for a moment, as the gesture was almost completely uncalled for. After a moment’s thought, Leah hugged him back. She wasn’t sure what made him hug her in the first place, but he had obviously been thinking about something. And plus, she’d never complain about a hug from him.

Eric sighed heavily, exhaling. He closed his eyes, resting his chin atop her head, his arms wrapped around her body. Sure, it was a bit awkward that they were stuck in the women's restroom, but still... He pursed his lips as he felt Leah hug him back, her slender figure pressed against his. The feeling was familiar, but in a way, it was completley new to him. He felt as if everything they did was for the first time, as if this was the first hug.

Leah smiled slightly as he rested his chin her head. Wrapped in his embrace made her feel loads better. She let out a satisfied sigh, though it was quiet, and not very profound. It was amazing how a single hug could make Leah feel so much better. Though the feeling was definitely different—though not in a negative way. It felt like it was wiping the slate clean, like the first time they’d met. A sliver of hope entered Leah. Maybe they just might make it after all.

"Alright..." Eric cleared his throat before he spoke, his voice sounding strained. He didn't make a move to let Leah go, the rumbling of the train vibrating the floor below them slightly. "I'm sorry." The words themselves meant nothing, but the emotion behind them was more than enough to let Leah know that he really, really was.

Leah moved her head slightly when Eric started talking. When she heard him apologize, she held her breath for a moment. It wasn’t something she’d been expecting, but she could tell that he meant what he said. “I’m sorry, too,” she whispered, hugging him a bit tighter. At the moment, she never wanted to let go. She hoped now they could start over. And she felt, suddenly, that there was a reason for living.

Eric raised one arm from around her, and ran it through his black hair. He gave her a slight smile, and nodded. He looked tired and weary, and the two were suddenly shoved against the wall as the train started to slow down, its breaks applied heavily.

(Sorry I'm really distracted)

Leah smiled slightly, only to be pushed against the wall in the small bathroom shortly after. “This our stop?” Leah asked, moving away from him slightly to give them room to open up the door if it was. It was crowded in here, to begin with, and she hadn’t gotten to wash off her face, but she was happier now that both of them had said sorry to each other.

Eric nodded, in answer to Leah's question. "Yes." He reached forward to open the door, before they were slammed against the wall yet again. His body pressed against hers, and he winced at the awkward position, before he pushed himself away from her and quickly reached for the door yet again. Grasping the handle, he opened the door and quickly waited untill the train slowed to an easier pace.

Leah nodded. Leah, even though she still admittedly loved Eric, the position was awkward, seeing as they’d only just made up. She flinched slightly, but soon he got off and opened the door. Leah quickly followed behind him, ready to get off this wretched train. “Where exactly are we stopping?” Leah asked quietly.

Eric grasped Leah's hand and pulled her out the door. He was stared at as some of the people realized he was a guy in the girls bathroom, with a girl. Shaking his head, he quickly strode down the isle, holding her hand gently, but firmly. "Wherever this stop is, because I'm not waiting till the next stop."

Leah ignored the glances they were receiving. Their thoughts would probably be disregarded, seeing as they weren’t ‘disheveled,’ as they almost certainly would’ve been if they had ‘done’ something. She slipped into the aisle and grabbed her backpack, handing Eric his. “Let’s hurry up and get out of here.” She glanced at Matthew, who looked like he was sleeping.

Eric nodded once, before he reached their seat, and scooped up both of their backpacks in his hand, giving Leah hers swiftly. Giving her a quick smile, his deep, dark eyes were slightly troubled, and he squeezed her hand in his. He turned and started to make his way down the isle again, and the pair were quickly swept up in a stream of people that were also getting off of the train.

Leah smiled and put her backpack over one of her shoulders. She kept her fingers laced through his, thankful they were moving with the crowd and not against it. She smiled nervously at him, then looked behind them. Matthew was out of sight. Little did she know, he was at the very back of the line, fingering the gun under his coat.

Eric gazed out of the windows. It was dark outside, but as soon as they screetched to a slow halt, he made out lights, quickly realizing they had reached the main train station. Leah smiled nervously, before slinging her backpack over one of her shoulders, and following him quickly down the main isle. Eric nodded slightly, before the stream of people started to swarm out of the open doors, quickly exiting and branching off into different trails. Making sure Leah was beside him, he gave her a quick smile and stepped down the stairs.

Leah smiled as they reached the doors of the train station, the door just large enough for the both of them to squeeze through. She was slightly stunned when the cold morning air hit her, and she shivered slightly, moving closer to Eric without meaning to. She looked back up at the train, Matthew still nowhere to be seen. Just to make the mood a bit lighter, Leah said, “I think I saw Matthew on the train—looks like he fell asleep. He’s not anywhere behind us.”

As soon as they both stepped out into the open air, the cold sent goosebumps along Eric's skin, and he intertwined his fingers with Leah's. Matthew was no where to be seen, and thought releived Eric immensly. Seeing Leah shivering, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her closley to him, before gazing down both ways. The main street wasn't far away from the station, and he shuffled forward, quickly making his way to the sidewalk.

Leah smiled up at him as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closely to him. She looked around to where they were going, and smiled happily. They were finally getting away from everybody. She rested her head comfortably on his shoulder, but at an angle where it wouldn’t be awkward walking.

To be frank, Eric didn't know where they were supposed to go. Finally reaching the sidewalk, he leaned down and hugged Leah, though it was a rather awkward position from the way they were standing. Giving her a quick smile, he exhaled, his breath steaming in the air. "Gosh, it's really cold." He hoped she had packed an extra sweatshirt, but if not he had one. Looking to her, he raised an eyebrow, before pulling her to him and making both of them stop. "Look here. I want to tell you that this life isn't going to be easy. We might end up sleeping in alleys, homeless. It's up to you if you want to continue on."

Leah smiled and hugged him back. They walked for only a few more steps, when he pulled her closer to him and said something to her. She frowned momentarily. Leah knew it was something she honestly had to think about. Though it didn’t take her too long to answer. “I…I’ll come with you,” Leah said, shuddering slightly. It was definitely cold outside. She knew they may end up homeless in the cold, but at least they’d be together. Leah nodded again, as to affirm her answer.

Eric smiled softly at her answer, corressing her smooth cheek with his fingers for a second, before removing his hand and turning back to the sidewalk. "Come on then." Claiming her hand once again, he strode forward. Though he wasn't mad anymore, he didn't hold the same feelings he had before. Of course, they were still needing to progress, but something was changed... He couldn't place a finger on it. Mostly, he felt as if Leah was a really, really good friend... But he knew he would need to wait for something to change inside of him.

Leah smiled at him as he caressed her cheek, placing her hand over his gently. He laced his fingers through hers, and she gladly took his hand as well. Leah walked down the street with him, staring at their surroundings. It was nice, though the feeling was definitely different than it was before. Leah hoped things were going to go back to the way things were. The city was different to her, but she liked it.

Tall buisness buildings rose behind lower, smaller shops that lined the street. There were chinese resturants, souveneer shops, everything that you could think of. They passed by a candle store, walking on the sidewalk, hand in hand. At this early hour of the morning, everything was closed exept for bars and strip clubs, and Eric grimaced. There was no way he was going in either of those. Glancing at his watch, he saw that it was about one in the morning, and raised an eyebrow. They would have to find somewhere to stay the rest of the night, get some sleep.

Leah yawned slightly, staring at the only buildings with lights on, most of the ‘clubs’ having boarded up windows, the things going on inside obviously illegal to show the rest of the world. She sighed. Women who worked in those clubs were just whores. Leah shook it off as she looked around the city. “Any idea where we’re going to stay the night…?” Leah asked suddenly.

Eric rested a palm on his forhead. He didn't know what to say to Leah, as he had no idea. "I really dont know. We could rent a room in a hotel, but that would cost more than what its worth." To be honest, he hadn't had a plan, and now cursed himself for not thinking one up in the first place.

Leah shrugged slightly, “I have enough money to rent a motel for a night or two. I could go out and look—” Leah yawned, though she didn’t mean to “—for a job tomorrow.” She threw a disgusted look at the strip clubs, “I could try to find a job.” She corrected herself, sighing heavily.
