Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric narrowed his eyes, and raised his head to look behind him at the man, who was seemingly watching the pair intently. He gripped the seat in front of him so tight, his knuckles were white, his jaw clenched harshly. Gritting his teeth together, he turned his head to stare at Leah once again. "I didn't get a damn soda." Leaning in, he whispered in her ear. "Who is he?"

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah frowned and backed away slightly when Eric snapped so suddenly. What was causing him to be so harsh? Leah sighed and froze up when he whispered in her ear, not expecting him to even ask that question, though she was sure—on the inside—that he was curious. Taking a quick glance at the man, Leah murmured, though not into Eric’s ear, but quiet enough it’d take a lot of straining to hear her speak, “It’s Matthew, Eric.”

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric bit his lower lip slightly as Leah looked at him, obviously not expecting his harsh words. He no longer felt the peace that she had given him, and now he was taught and wound up, seemingly ready to burst from tension. His hands were balled into fists, the muscles in his jaw tight. Shaking his head, he stopped all possible movement as Leah answered his question. Dread filled his heart, and he held himself back from taking another look at the... at Mathew.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah sighed heavily and moved herself so her legs were curled up underneath her, her elbows resting leisurely on her knees, and her body facing the window. She was no longer in a mood to discuss things. She found that deep within the recesses of her still-mending heart she didn’t care that Matthew had found them. She’d screwed things up in a very bad way, and she couldn’t see how Eric and her would ever achieve what they’d once had. He’d never forgive her, and possibly never love her again. A silent tear trickled down her cheek, fear filling her as she found she was completely numb towards the prospect of Matthew getting his gritty hands on her again.

"Son of a-" Eric caught himself from swearing yet again. He didn't know what was causing his terrible mood, but it wasn't going to go away any time soon. He raised a hand and rested it over his eyes as Leah turned away from him. His heart ached for the old Leah, for the old him. It seemed like he was a new person than the day before, as he had grown hard and cold, no longer reachable by his emotions. He felt empty, hollow. Like he was something that was used, before being tossed out again afterwards.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah grabbed her backpack and rummaged through it a moment, smiling slightly when she found her iPod had been stowed away in one of the smaller pockets, along with headsets. Sighing, Leah took them out and zipped up the compartment again before putting in the earbuds, shuffling through her songs until she found one she felt in the mood for. It, she felt, that it fit the situation completely. Though the song was meant for a male to a female, Leah knew that most of the song fit it, and she blandly passed over the parts referring to the singer’s girlfriend.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Minutes slowly passed in excruciating silence. Eric didn't know what to think, what to do. He was partially afraid to do anything, as it might just make matters worse. Days ago, the pair would have been holding eachother, staring together out the window and speaking in low voices. Now, they were sitting rigidly on the seats, seperated from eachother and not wanting to speak. Eric lowered his head into his hands, hunched over slightly.

Leah stared out the window, hitting the repeat button on the song. The song made her think about what she’d done. As she thought about it, they’d both hurt each other equally, but Eric didn’t understand that she’d been hurt, as well. She wondered if she should let him listen to the song, just to get him thinking. Get him to remember that she still loved him, and she was sorry. Shaking her head, Leah straightened up, turning up the volume slightly, resting her legs off the side of the chair as she stared at the headrest in front of her. Would anything ever be the same?

Eric sighed deeply, his head resting in his hands. He knew that they would be reaching the city soon, but didn't bother to move. He wondered if depression was taking ahold of him again, leaving him hollow and used. Leaving him numb and emotionless, not caring about anything anymore. He closed his eyes breifly, before turning his head and opening them. Watching Leah intently, he didn't know what she had to say. She had already apologized, but... It hadn't seem to do much good.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
When the song had ended yet another time, Leah grimaced and took the headphones out of her ears and passed the iPod to him, along with the earbuds. “Just listen to the song. The lyrics, especially.” Leah placed it in the palm of his hand and then turned back to the window. She hoped it’d be enough to make him see. She hoped it’d help him realize she was hurting as much as he was. But when Leah thought about it, she felt like it was over. Nothing was going to happen between them anymore…She prayed silently, however, that that wasn’t true.

Eric glanced up as he felt Leah press something into his palm, and his fingers curled around it slightly. The slim ipod fit into his hand, and he lifted it along with the ear buds. Giving a look of aprehension, he gazed at the screen, feeling his heart throb with pain. Swallowing once, he placed the ear phone in his ear and pressed the play button.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah wondered what his reaction would be to the song—she even had half a mind to take it back. But she felt that it was needed. Though it wasn’t, but it was. Leah smiled slightly as memories of the two of them flooded back to her. Their kisses, their warm embraces. They were equally hurt. And she’d said sorry. She didn’t know what else to do. Leah sighed and rested her forehead against the window, feeling its cool surface, but not withdrawing herself. Leah was afraid to turn around and see Eric’s reaction to the song.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric's head fell into his hands as soon as the song started to play. He should have figured that Leah would try something like this! What was she trying to do! Make him feel bad? Make him feel sorry? But for what!? He didn't know what this was supposed to do, but for the sake of Leah, and himself he refrained from handing it back to her. He was hunched over slightly, his head in his hands. The song continued to play on, and he closed his eyes, trying not to listen... But the words didn't stop coming, and they held meaning to them Eric didn't think a song could have.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah sighed heavily, still thinking about whether she should’ve let him listen to it or not. She just hoped he’d understand it was another form of apology from her to him, but it was also supposed to reveal to him that she still loved him. She wanted to tell him that she loved him. Leah rested her head closely on the cool window, moisture condensing around her skin. She’d never forgive herself, whether he forgave her or not. Leah was starting to think it’d feel wrong to love him again. She didn’t want it to be like that. Praying silently, she wished he’d understand and their broken hearts would mend, and, over time, they could achieve what they’d once had, and this would simply be a scar of the past.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
A few minutes passed in silence between the two. Finally, the song ended and Eric took the ear phone out of his ear, taking Leah's hand and placing the small ipod back into it. Turning back away from her, he closed his eyes, no longer caring what other people thought. He knew that Matthew was right behind them, probably planning his, or Leah's demise. Still, he just needed silence, quiet. Time to think about everything that had happened.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah turned and took the iPod back from him, not bothering to look up into his face to somehow try and decipher his reaction. It wouldn’t be the same ever again. Even if they did fall in love again, it would never be as peaceful and pleasurable as it had been before. Leah felt a fresh wave of tears coming on, and to stop herself from breaking down, she muttered that she was going to the bathroom, scooted past Eric, and walked down the aisle to the bathroom in the back of the box they were in, not even caring when she felt Matthew’s eyes scrutinizing her.

Eric glanced up in silence as Leah pushed past him, starting to walk down the isle slowly. She was making her way to the back of the train, and Eric sensed that Matthew had turned in his seat and was watching her. As he raised his eyes to his face, his suspicsions were confirmed, and suddenly, almost like a monsterous tital wave had hit him, he realized everything, saw what needed to be done. Standing, he pursed his lips, walking down the isle and following Leah. Hell, he would follow her right into the womens bathroom if he had to.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah heard footsteps behind her, and she tensed up, thinking it was Matthew. She took a short, passing glance over her shoulder to see who it was. When she deciphered it was Eric, she let out a thick sigh, lengthening her strides ever-so-slightly that it was nigh undetectable, and allowed herself into the women’s bathroom, locking the door behind her. She hadn’t really needed to go to the bathroom. Honestly, she just needed to splash some water on her face and get herself together, which is exactly what she planned on doing.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric noticed Leah speed up, and he did the same. He broke into a jog as she slipped into the bathroom, and had just reached the door when he heard the unmistakable click of the lock. Leaning against it, he knocked on the wood and stood outside. "Leah, open up." Knocking again, he saw several people turn to stare at him, but he didn't care. No, he needed to talk to Leah.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah had just turned on the faucet when she heard Eric’s knuckles rapping against the wooden door, and she sighed heavily. Shaking her head discontentedly. She stayed where she was for a few moments before deciding she’d best open up before Eric gathered more unwanted attention. Unlocking the door, she opened it only halfway before muttering, “Eric, what do you want?” She asked, a tad bit annoyed, but she wouldn’t let it show.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric placed his shoulder against the wood, leaning into it. He wasn't really expecting Leah to open it, and when she did, he practically fell through the opening, but caught himself. Straightening, he looked out behind him, until the passengers looked away, then forced the door open wider and pushed into the small bathroom. As soon as he was inside, he closed the door behind him and slid the lock into place.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah moved quickly when he fell, not giving a thought to catch him, as he had caught himself by the time she’d went to help. She opened her mouth to protest his coming into the bathroom when he closed the door and slid the lock back into place. “What, may I ask, do you think you’re doing?” Leah furrowed her brow and walked over to the sink (though it was more like a shuffle in the small space) and turned off the faucet that was running cool water she’d intended to splash her face off with. He, she thought, was extremely lucky she didn’t actually have to go to the bathroom.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah was obviously pissed at him. When she turned away and scooted over to the sink, he grabbed her hand and pulled her back towards him, though it was rather unnecicarry in the tiny room. He leaned up against the door, and narrowed his eyes slightly, showing that he was thinking. Eric swallowed once, before he reached forward and took her other hand in his, so she was standing in front of him.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah opened her mouth to protest when he took her by the hand, pulling her gently so that she stood in front of him. Eric was acting…well, to put it simply, strange. First he comes into the women’s bathroom, and then this? What exactly was running through his mind? Leah could tell he was thinking by the look on his face, but she didn’t know what, exactly, and she bit her bottom lip nervously, “Eric, uhh, why exactly did you come in here in the first place…?”

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Now, Leah was nervous. It was obvious on her face, and she bit her lip and looked away. He didn't mean to worry her, but he wasn't about to say whatever he had to say when Matthew was sitting a foot behind them, and no doubt listening to all of their words. He hated that man, and his jaw tightened in anger as he thought about what he would do to him once they were off of this train. If Matthew followed them, that is. And he was most likey going to. Eric leaned forward and pulled Leah into a hug, though she probably hadn't been expecting it in the least.
