Gilraen blushed slightly and said, "Thanks," she then grabbed the edge of the third log and hauled it on top of the first one, then the other end, and waited for it to dry. Satisfied to wait, Gilraen snuck behind Caldrion and placed some mud on his cheeks with her palms, laughing and then wrapping her arms around his neck, getting some mud off of his cheek onto hers.

I feel the wet mud on my cheeks, whirling around and hitting Gilraen with a mud ball. I laugh, doubled over, loving this. I remembered when we had gone swimming together, the fun we had had. Latley though, the fun was scarce, and I longed for how things used to be.

Gilraen squealed as the mud splashed against her, and she kicked mud onto Caldrion and laughed, nearly falling over into the large puddle of mud. She managed just to catch her balance. She laughed again and hopped nimbly over the logs of the house and hid behind them as a barrier to keep Caldrion from throwing more mud on her, and she giggled slightly.

I found her and pelted her with a mud ball, and ducked behind a tree, laughing.

She screamed as she felt the mud on her, then continued to laugh. She jumped back over the logs and grabbed some mud, tackling caldrion once she found him and splattering the mud all over his neck and bare chest.

I smiled and ruffled her hair, dry mud flaking off. "oops-" I say, laughing, and brush it out. I get out from undeneath her, then get another armload of mud, all the while watching her with twinkling eyes.

Gilraen laughed and helped him brush the mud out of her hair, then looked at him with an armload of mud. "Don't think about it! Just put it on the stupid trees!" Gilraen laughed. "We need to get this done so we have somewhere to sleep before nightfall." Gilraen smiled and grabbed some mud, placing it on the tree's top and spreading it around.

"Ok, I suppose." I say, and heave the sticky stuff onto the log, and roll another on top. Within a few hours, we had a structure about 5 logs high. The sun had started to set. "I dont know what to do about the roof tonight." I say, but the sky didnt show any sign of rain.

Gilraen smiled and after hours of work, she stretched and yawned slightly, going over to make sure the boys were still asleep. Seeing that they were, she turned back to the almost finished house. "Well... It doesn't look like it's going to rain," she commented quietly and took off the muddy shirt that was covering her dress. "I think we can deal without a roof for one night. We can finish it in the morning."

I sigh slightly, not wanting to have my family sleep without a roof, but we would work again tomarrow. I picked up the small cradel and carried it inside the slightly built cabin.

Gilraen smiled at him. "Maybe when we have the roof, we can go back to normal nights that we spend with each other." Gilraen walked in and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. "I'm so glad that we're back together..." she whispered softly, pressing her forehead against his, looking into his eyes.

Gilraen sighed and laid her head on his chest, looking out one direction, at the crib. She sighed and closed her eyes, swaying gently, her head rising and falling softly with his rhythmic breathing. Gilraen hoped that this moment could last forever, and that they were finally far enough away from everybody else that their love could blossom and hopefully bloom into its full form. Gilraen didn't want to ever leave his side, yet something they call fate, was never on her side, and she let out another sigh and clenched her eyes tighter.

"You ok?" My hand runs over her back, pulling her close to me, my breath touching her cheek gently. I was sure this was about us, not wanting to be caught again. That camp had really screwed up our lives.

"Yes," she croaked. "I... I just want to live the rest of my life in peace." Gilraen said softly, opening her eyes and looking up at him, feeling the warmth of his breath on one of her cheeks. "I don't want to spend my life running. I want to be here with you, and to raise Elendril and Valandril to be great young men, and to grow up to be like you, and hopefully make one she-elf's dreams come true like you have mine." A small smile touched Gilraen's lips. "And who knows? Maybe the future could bring another child." Gilraen didn't enjoy the prospect of going through childbirth again, but her motherly natures wanted a child that would be both with Gilraen's and Caldrion's will -- not forced. Something about that idea just seemed.... so... right.

"And that we will." I say, looking over the spot our house would be, our family would be raised. Blade stepped through the trees, looking slightly apolagetic about inturupting us. I smile at Gilraen, and turn to the creature, not fully trusting him.

Gilrean got on her tiptoes and kissed him gently before turning to see Blade. She stiffened and remembered the other beast, who she refused to name. Gilraen stiffly walked to the chidlren in the cradle and stood over them, carressing their soft skin and not looking into Blade's eyes. God knows what horrors would come upon her if she looked into the eyes of one of those... those monsters... again.

Blade cleared his throat. "Im going to be traveling away, somewhere where I can hide out a bit, I guess." He sighed, looking at Gilraen. "And Im truly sorry." He says before opening his huge wings and flapping, making his body rise into the air.

Gilraen couldn't help but feel the anger boil within her, and her usually graceful form became tall and rigid. She whirled around and pointed an accusing finger at Blade, "No, you're not!" She screamed, curling her index finger back and making a fist. "No, you're not..." she muttered, dropping her gaze and plopping to the floor, covering her face in her hands and feeling tears start trickling down her cheeks.

Blade didnt reply, just shook his head, eyes sad. "I deserve that." With those words, he turned and flew out of sight, wings making my hair blow over my face. I wrap my arms around Gilraen. "He did save you, you know that?"

Gilraen didn't care what either Blade or Caldrion said anymore. Painful memories swirled in her head, and she finally spoke up, "No! He was the one that dragged me into that awful birthing chamber...! I will never forgive him for that!" Gilraen got to her feet and ripped herself away from Caldrion and ran at inhuman speeds out of the small, unfinished house, and into the depths of the woods.

I closed my eyes, pain filling my heart as her words reached my ears. Knowing I couldnt follow, I sat down quickly by the boys, sighing heavily. Why did everything always have to go wrong.

~1 Hour Later~
Gilraen decided it was time to go back, and she had calmed her nerves for the most part. She sighed and looked around her, not really knowing where she was. She sighed and wiped one last tear from her cheek and slowly headed back to the house, until it was in sight, then she hesitated to move forward. Her children and only lover were in there... but something made her want to stay away, and new tears sprung on the corner of her eyes, and she cursed under her breath.

I had pulled the cradle into the corner of the house, and taken large strands of grass and sticks, weaving them together to make a small makeshift roof. Not hearing that Gilraen was back, I quietly start to sing an elven song, my voice soft in the night. My mother had sang me the song when I was a baby, and now, I was singing it to my son.

Gilraen silently made up her mind, and she listened to Caldrion's sweet voice as she made her way silently through the house. She looked into the house and grimaced a moment, but it quickly faded. She went over to the cradle's new location and began to feed the two boys, who were pawing at the air with their tiny fingers. The sight of her two sons warmed her heart. But her heart longed to be beside Caldrion at the moment, under the warm covers and whispering encouraging words to each other, but after tonight, that wouldn't happen ever again. Gilraen kissed her boys sweetly and continued to feed them.
