Pippa awoke early a few months later. her only slightly swelled tummy gurgled, instincts told her time had come to lay her egg. padding to a soft mossy nest she had been preparing, she slowly eased herself into it. with a few short huffs, a small pale white egg dropped into the nest. Pippa backed away slowly and looked at it, a smile marking her face. she walked forwards and curled herself around it before glancing around the den, "Thorn?"

Lifting his big head, he looked over to Pippa and he tilted it. Getting up, he walked over to her and saw the egg. "Yes?" He asked, focusing on her.

"the egg.. is here." she whispered, curling tighter around it and not removing her gaze.

He looked down at the egg and smiled, curling close around Pippa. He was happy that their child has come but it was only the beginning of parenthood.

Pippa smiled as he curled around her, and leaned up to lick his nose. "how long do you think it'll take to hatch?" she asked quietly, taking a paws and tracing the egg gently with a claw.

"A couple days up to a week. Who knows, maybe even a month. Its hatching time is its choice." He said softly and licked her back. brushing it softly with his tail, he watched her trace it and nuzzled her cheek.

Pippa sighed, "lets hope it's as impatient as i am for it to hatch." she chuckled. glancing at him, she cocked her head, "would you keep it warm for a bit? i want to go hunt." she said softly, trusting him enough to leave him alone with her egg.

He nodded and looked at her, smiling.

Pippa nodded and carefully moved away from the egg before flying from the den. she circled the forest, looking for prey.

Curling up around the egg, he continued to brush it with his tail, keeping it clean and warm.

Pippa lay sound asleep beside her egg, snoring quietly.

the egg twitched back and forth slowly, evident the hatchling inside was trying to fight its way out.

Waking up silently next to Pippa and the nest, he sat up to see the egg moving. Deciding to help, he unsheathed one claw and placed it on the egg, slowly and carefully making a hole and starting a slow process of cutting a hole on the top. He was making sure he didn't kill the hatchling inside or even injure it.

the hatchling's small claws raked the inside of the egg as it pressed its nose to the hole appearing at the top. wiggling, the egg slowly cracked along the middle.

Once he finished, he flicked the top off and stuck his nose inside, sniffing it.

the small pale green hatchling swung its head around for a moment, and slowly opened its eyes. it cocked it's head at the bigger dragon and clambered from the egg, its wings plastered at it's back.

((I dunno. Also, if its a Terrae dragon like him and it has wings, then yes it is. DragCave Terrae females only got horns.))

He started to sniff the hatchling, wondering if it'll take hold of his nose.

the hatching made a squeaky noise and stared wide eyed at the creature before it. sensing a tie between itself and the creature, he raised a paw and hit the thing it was sticking in his face. he opened and shut his mouth a few times, squeaking.

Smiling, he nudged the child and snorted at it. He was happy they had a child that was like him, but was confused it was in a white egg. Shrugging it off, he nudged it again and gave it a lick.

the hatchling squealed happily, nuzzling his nose against the green creature.

Pippa rose her head and looked around in panic for a moment - "the egg-!" she began, stopping as she saw Thorn. "oh.." she sighed dreamily, eyes softening as she looked proudly at their hatchling.

He looeked to see Pippa awake and smiled. "It hatched. I couldn't let you wake up, you were adorable as you slept." He said to her happily.

Pippa's white scales blushed softly. "what do you want to name him?" she whispered, walking over to Thorn and nuzzling his shoulder.

the hatchling watched the white creature move now, feeling a definite bond between them. he looked at both of the bigger creatures and opened and shut its' mouth hungerily.

(hmm what do baby dragons eat? xD)

"I dunno...." He replied lazily, glancing at Pippa but smiled.
