Emiko was so gentle to the girl. So sweet. So...motherly. He instantly knew she'd make a good mother. As she picked the small girl up, put her on the Eagle and started to a canter he walked beside them, looking at the girl lying her head on the horses head. As they arrived at the cottage, he helped Emiko and the little girl down and brought both of them inside. "Emiko, mind getting her washed up, I'll start the food up." He looked in the fridge and grabbed some small pizzas and put them in the oven looking at the still-shaken girl. She looked so confused on what was going on around her and he felt bad.

Emiko nodded and took the little girl upstairs to bathe her. She gently took off the girl’s clothing and put the girl into the warm bathwater before scrubbing her off gently, running her fingers through her hair with shampoo and speaking kind words like, “Doesn’t this feel nice?” or “You’ll be safe here,” and “No need to worry.” When she was done, she wrapped the girl in a towel and rummaged around until she found a shirt big enough for the girl to wear like a nightgown. Picking the girl up and propping her on one hip, Emiko took her downstairs. “See? Josh is going to fix you some food. But we don’t want to talk to you like you’re not here, so could you tell me your name, little one?”

The young girl shivered, and turned around to look at Emiko, her blue eyes searching Emiko's. "I... don't know." Josh looked at the girl and bit his lip, pulling Emiko aside. "She doesn't seem to remember. She's shaken... maybe not knowing who her parents are is the best for her... her parents my be dead somewhere. How about we keep her as her own, Emiko? Make her think she ours, and give her a name... our first daughter." Having to adopt a child wasn't in his mind at first but he felt bad for the small girl... and she looked strong. He looked at the girl still standing around, bags under her as if she hadn't slept in a while. He looked at her. "Your pizza's out on the table, hun, you can go eat." She looked back silently thanking them until she went towards the kitched then he turned back to Emiko.

Emiko frowned and stared at the little girl before turning back to Josh. The fact that the little girl couldn’t even remember her name—at her age, too!—was enough to break Emiko’s heart. The poor child…what if her parents were dead? Emiko shook her head and let out a deep sigh, watching the little girl’s eyes light up momentarily at the mention of food. She must’ve been starving. “I think you’re right. It’ll be best to take her as our own.” Emiko smiled weakly, then hugged Josh closely. The whole experience of only about an hour ago had still shaken her to her core, and her father said he’d be back. In all honesty, she was terrified. She buried her face in her chest, “I’m scared, though. What if father comes back to take me away? What will happen to you two then? I don’t want to lose either of you…” Emiko bit her lip nervously.

Josh nodded when she agreed, pulling her to him, accepting her hug and smiled. But then when she mentioned her father, he frowned. "I promise I'll protect her, and you. We just gotta make sure she doesn't wander too far. And you don't try either, Emi." He said. "I'll try to settle something. I won't let them take you away now, or her." He starts to go but then a grin pushes his face and he looks at her. "What will you name her, Emi?" He asked.

Emiko nodded, but a feeling of doubt was crawling over her heart. She knew they’d all pay the price sooner or later, knowing her father, Ichirou. He’d come back and he’d take away whatever was most precious to Josh, whether that be herself or the little girl. She was snapped out of her thoughts when Josh asked her want to name the little girl, and Emiko stared at him, momentarily dumbfounded. “Me? Name her?” Emiko shook her head, then smiled. “Hmm… what a tough question. What about… Silana?” Emiko commented, walking over to Josh so they could go back to the little girl.

Josh nodded and smiled. "That's a beautiful name," he said and followed her to the little girl who was eating away at the pizza. She looked at them and gave a weak smile and rubbed her eyes. "How about you go and go to sleep, Silana?" he looked up at Emiko with a lopsided grin. She nodded and rubbed her eyes. "Okay." Getting out of the wooden chair, she walked over to the couch, and rubbed her eyes again before her breathing became light. Josh looked at Emiko and walked over to her putting her hands around her. "She could be our flower girl?" He suggested.

“I’m glad you like it, in that case,” Emiko said, following close behind Josh. The young girl looked so incredibly sleepy… The poor child! What’d happened to her? It seemed cruel and unfair she’d been wandering the forest. But no matter how much joy it brought Emiko to think that Josh and her had a child of their own to care for—even if it was not theirs by blood—Emiko couldn’t get the fear of her father’s return out of her mind. When Josh pulled her close, she wrapped her arms around his neck and planted a gentle kiss on his lips, “I think that’s a great idea.”

"Wow, it's been a long day." Josh yawned and looked around. "But it's only the afternoon though." And just to read her, he pulled the hair away from her face so her could see her. And the focus was only on her. "Don't worry I'll make sure he won't come back." he murmured her and looked around. "So we fed Silana, how about we feed ourselves?" he asked and turned towards the refrigerator and opened it up and pulled out things for tacos. He raised his eyebrows. "Tacos?" he asked in his best spanish accent and gave a small chuckle.

Emiko listened to him quietly, but she still wasn’t completely convinced. After seeing Josh’s rage, she knew it shouldn’t be a surprise that he’d say that, and she knew she should believe it, as well. Sighing thickly, Emiko nodded her head. She giggled quietly when he talked in a Spanish accent, and replied, “Si, muy bueno, señor.” Emiko smiled and walked over to him, pecking him on the cheek once. “I’m going to move Silana into the guest bedroom.” Emiko walked quietly over to the girl sleeping soundly on the couch and cradled her in her arms, silently tiptoeing into the guest bedroom to tuck the little girl in goodnight.

Josh smiled and turned away to get the meat. He turned to the stove and put it on. When he it was cooking, something fell out of his jean pocket. Leaning in to pick it up, he saw the ring he'd given Emiko and fumbled with it with his thumb and index finger. Getting up, he walked towards the Guest room and thought about that being forced off her finger, her frantically calling his name. Him beocming completly raged. He let those thoughts clear and then grabbed Emiko's ring finger, and put it on. He pulled her into a hug and sighed, closing his eyes. "I know your worried. I know you were scared of me, of my rage... I just didn't want to lose you." He pulled away and ran his fingers softly over her lips. "I'd die without you."

Emiko had just finished tucking in little Silana and was about to turn around and go find Josh when he came up to her and put the ring back on her finger, pulling her into his warm embrace. Emiko stiffened momentarily, but only because she hadn’t expected the sudden gesture. After a moment, however, she let herself go and wrapped her arms around him. Her eyes watered with unshed tears as he spoke to her, lifting her head away from his chest and running his fingers gently over her lips. Emiko searched his eyes a moment and then commented quietly, taking his hand in hers, “I don’t want to lose you, either…” her voice was little above a whisper. “I shouldn’t have been afraid of you. I know you’d never hurt me.” Emiko took in a shuddery breath. “I’m sorry.”

When she apologized he shook his head, running his palms along her jaws and kissing it gently. "No, it's my fault Emi. I should've done that in front of you." Letting go of her, he turned and walked back to the food and sat against the counter with a shuddering sigh. He hoped she was no longer scared because what's the point of trying to protect her, when she was trying to from him as well?

Emiko followed quickly after Josh. She felt like she’d said something wrong. She grabbed him gently by the arm and turned him around, “Josh, don’t feel guilty. Please. You acted on justifiable grounds! You’re an angel and you were helping to save me from demons. That’s all there is to it. There’s no reason to not have done that. I appreciate your concern. Please don’t be too hard on yourself.” Emiko wrapped her arms around him and planted a kiss on his lips. “I’ll still love you, no matter what you do.”

Josh pressed his forehead against hers, nuzzling her. He kissed her on the lips and then the forehead. "I'm glad to hear that." He whispered, taking his hand in hers. He kissed her again and turned to the meat again, tossing the tacos around. "The meat is almost done." He said and shaggied up his hair while he stepped away from the tacos. "Now, we could have a life with a child before we have another one." He said with excitment in his voice.

Emiko kissed him back gently; glad she could’ve been of some reassurance to him. She hadn’t any idea what caused the rage, but deep inside of her she was hoping she never did anything to spark it herself. Sighing as he left, Emiko sat down at the table, watching him. She smiled brightly at his next comment, feeling the same excitement as he. “It’ll be great, won’t it?” Emiko felt happy enough that she could just laugh, but she held it back. She was glad that they’d met and that they now had a child of “their own” to take care of. It was going to be a good life after all. A very good life.

Josh smiled and soon, the meat was done. He took the meat out and put them in tortillas. "Bon apiete.. peitie? Whatever." He laughed and sat down at the other side of her and looked at her. "I'm nervous, take a bite first." He said in a nervous voice. And laughed.

“Appetite?” Emiko suggested, laughing at him. When he said he was ‘nervous’ about eating a taco, she cocked and eyebrow and chuckled at him. “Are you saying it’s going to be gross?” She rolled her eyes and took a bite, pretending to be contemplating on the taste. She laughed once she swallowed and said, “It’s fine! Delicious, even.” Emiko smiled and took another bite.

When Emiko took a bite he shrugged. "Hey, I was never nervous!" He said in a playful tone and took a bite of the taco. "Mm...mmm...mm!" He gave a lopsided grin and took another bite. He turned and put some sour cream on around his lips and turned. "Sorry is there anything on my face?" He was enjoying this time with Emiko.

Emiko laughed at him, rolling her eyes. She had turned to take a bite of the food, and when she turned around, Emiko stared at him. She laughed and leaned over, giving him a kiss to get rid of the sour cream. “Mmm, yeah, you had something allllll over your mouth.” Emiko chuckled and went back to eating her taco. She loved Josh so much… He was such a child at heart. She loved that immature quality that he had, the one that allowed him to be fun. He was serious when he needed to be, however. She simply couldn’t wait until they got married. She could, however, wait. They had Silanaa now. They had time on their hands… They’d be lovers for eternity… Forever and ever. They’d raise a family of their own and be happy.

Josh nodded and soon, he wipped the rest of the sour cream off with his napkin and got up, and finished his food. He brought it to the sink and put it in the sink. He turned and looked back. "I'll be upstairs, waiting. Come join me, Emi." He said and sat on the bed, sitting back and lying. He chilled closing his eyes halfway.

Emiko smiled and watched him finish his food before getting up and putting the things away. She got up and cleaned off of her plate, washing the dishes and putting them away. It only took her a few minutes, but once she was done, she quietly walked up the stairs and stretched. Emiko walked into his room and sidled onto the bed next to him, wrapping her arms around him and planting a kiss on his lips.

Josh smiled when a kiss was planted on her lips. He got comfortable and fell asleep. His dreams were comfortable but on his mind, he was trying to figure out what they would do tomorrow... with Silana. Defiently not the spot for the picnic right now. Especially what happened yesterday. He loved his new and full family- well almost full. He could get Silana together, make her better.

Emiko curled up to him and fell asleep with her head on his chest, more content than she’d been in her entire life. She smiled, and pleasant dreams filled her mind. When the sun rose, Emiko groaned and rolled over slightly, starting a bit when she was brought face-to-face with Josh’s chest. A smile crossed her lips and she cuddled up to him, kissing his jaw. “Jooooosh, wake upppp.”

Josh awoke when she told him to wake up. He pushed himself looking around. "What? What? I'm up, I'm up." he said and whipped his legs across the side of the bed. He sat there for a second and then lifted himself up. He stood and stretched. "Maybe she'll be better." He said, talking about Silana. He turned and walked downstairs and towards the guest room that will soon be Silana's room.
