Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah bet her lip until she tasted the metallic blood, letting go of her lip. She felt her body shudder, doing its best to keep in the tears. The idea of ever losing Eric haunted her mind and very soul. She never wanted to leave him. Not after what had happened with Mike. Matthew was still out there, if she was to be gained custody of by her parents again, which she was praying heavily that it wouldn’t happen. She couldn’t stand to be in another crazed man’s arms. Especially Matthew, now that Mike was in jail—most likely. Leah hugged him tighter without meaning to, silent tears running down her cheeks.

Eric was speechless, tongue tied and not knowing what to say. Leah silently pressed herself against him, and he leaned his head down on top of hers, his strong arms wrapped around her body in a comforting embrace. His thumb coressed her cheek gently, and he felt tears spilling out of her eyes. Why? Why was there so much pain!? Why couldn't they just be normal!?

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah gently removed her face from his gentle caress. She hadn’t wanted him to know she was crying, but once she felt his finger across her cheek, smearing the pathway of the tears slightly, she knew it wasn’t much use in saying she hadn’t been crying. “Eric…?” Leah whispered, for a split second thinking it a good idea to part ways now, to dull the pain, “Have you ever thought…that maybe…we should just run away?”

Run...Run away?
The thought had never struck Eric as an actual prospect, as he had thought it was far fetched and impossible, only a dream. He felt Leah pull away, and stroked her cheek unknowingly, his eyes deep and thoughtful as he thought about it. Clearing his throat, he spoke. "No, never really thought it was actually a plan.."

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah searched his eyes that were, unfortunately, filled with doubt. Shaking her head, Leah commented, “I didn’t either—probably because it’s impossible,” Leah shuddered. “I’d hate to think what’d happen to me if my father found us first.” Leah sighed and rolled onto her back, looking up at the ceiling, resting one of her palms on her forehead. “I don’t know what we’re going to do. What if we’re separated? A car might as well just hit me. Life is pointless without you.”

Eric frowned, then placed his fingers on his forhead, as if he had a headache. He felt the matress shift slightly, and opened his eyes to see that Leah had laid back on the bed, looking tired. Her words were like tiny daggers to his heart, and he couldn't help but grimace slightly. "You cant think that way Leah."

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah tilted her head slightly to look at Eric, who was in a similar position as her. Just looking at him reminded her of all the kisses they’d already shared—and she’d hoped there’d never be a ‘last kiss.’ But it looked like that was coming up. Mentally deciding what she was going to do, she smiled weakly, “I’ll try not to. But I think we both need sleep, what about you?”

Eric gave Leah a weak smile, and closed his eyes temporarily. "No, not me." He wasn't at all tired, not now...Not when he had so many things on his mind. Playfully leaning down, he pressed his lips against her forhead, before pushing himself up and rolling his shoulders, needing to stretch.

Leah nodded quietly, moving his chin lightly with her forefinger, kissing his lips. “All right,” she murmured. “Maybe you should go on a walk or sit outside. The fresh air will do you good, love.” Leah stretched and curled up, giving him a small smile before pulling the covers up around her and closing her eyes, though she had no intentions of sleeping.

A light smile touched Eric's lips as he felt her move his head, leaning up and kissing him tenderly. He shook his head as she pulled away, and lightly placed his forefinger on her lips, smiling slightly. "I'll be back in a little while." He said, giving her another light kiss on the lips before pushing himself off of the bed, and striding to the door. Before he exited however, he turned and saw that she was deep in the covers. "I love you." Leaving the room, he closed the door softly behind him and smiled to himself.

Leah smiled at him when he kissed her once more before pushing himself off the bed. She barely caught his words as he reached the door, but she managed to catch the gist of it, and said softly back, “I love you more.” Leah waited until she heard the door close before flipping over on her back, deciding the best way to execute her plan.

Eric exited the parlor without much difficulty. He reached the sidewalk and frowned, wishing he had Leah by his side, her hand in his. Raising a palm, he rubbed his forhead slightly, a throbbing headache threatening to take over, unless he calmed down. His shoes slapped down onto the concrete sidewalk, and he narrowed his eyes slightly, shoving his hands deep into his pockets.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
When Leah was sure he’d gone, she slipped out of bed and opened the door. She tiptoed silently down the stairs and quietly rummaged around until she found pen and paper. Her heart wrenching painfully in her chest, Leah began to write the note:
To Eric and Mrs. Quinn, I hate to say this, but it’s time for me to go. There’s no point in staying when I’m only going to be separated. I’d like a few words to each of you, however.
To Mrs. Quinn—you’re a lovely person and I enjoyed your words of wisdom and your comforting personality. Thanks for letting me stay here a while. I don’t want to burden you anymore.
To Eric—I love you so, so, so, so, so much, and I’m sorry to hurt you like this. But I decided it best to leave now, so the heartache won’t be as great later. I just want two things of you: 1, never forget us. Never forget what we had. And 2, please don’t come after me. I don’t want you getting into any more trouble.
Thank you both for your time and love and caring. I’ll miss you dearly.
Love, Leah
Leah looked down, despairing when she saw that she had gotten tears all over the paper, some of them smudging letters, but they were all still legible. Finding some tape, she taped it to the glass of the icecream parlor’s icecream ‘case,’ and exited the back door, wiping the tears from her eyes.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
(...I did cry while reading this.)
Ten minutes later, Eric had strode back to the icecream shop, and pushed open the door. Stepping inside, he couldn't help but smile at the quaint interior, and shook his head, focusing on getting up the stairs and seeing Leah again. After visiting the local floral shop, he had bought a beautiful red rose, and it was now lightly clutched in his fingers. He hadn't thought it was possible to miss someone when you were only gone a short time, but he definatly did. Climbing the stairs two at a time, he reached the closed door and knocked softly, holding the rose gently in his fingers. When there was no answer, he frowned, and lightly pushed the door open, peeking around the corner. The room was empty, the bed made. Shaking his head, he gave a half heated smile, and stepped inside. "Leah?" His voice was soft, tentative. There was no reply. After checking the closet, the bathroom, and even under the bed, his face started to pale. Throwing the red rose onto the bed, he stumbled down the stairs, a terrible feeling wrenching inside his gut, making him feel like he was about to vomit. "Mrs.Quinn!" He cried, almost falling as he stumbled to the lounge. "Leah!?" His footsteps stopped though, as his wild eyes caught the sight of a white piece of paper, and he slowly walked towards it. The window was open, making the paper flutter slightly, and his face paled slightly as he reached out and took it with trembling fingers. His heart gave a powerful wrench of terror as he read the first line.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
[ Dx oh mi gob this is so freaking sad but so freaking ADDICTING! Now I’m crying DDx ]
Leah stumbled once or twice on the road, tears blurring her vision so much that she was getting multiple stares from the people around her. Some of the women stopped and asked her if she needed anything, but, unable to conjure words in even the slightest degree, Leah had just shook her head and kept on walking. All her mind could think about was Eric and what his reaction would be. She hated to think she was breaking her heart, and she only hoped that he would understand that it hurt her as much as it hurt him. She hoped that the tearstains on the letter would help him believe it. Continuing to trudge along the sidewalk, Leah continued to cry, until she felt as if she couldn’t cry any longer. The sun was setting, and it would be dark and cold soon. Leah knew she didn’t have any money—none for food, much less a one-night stay at a hotel—and that she’d have to find somewhere else to sleep that night, or maybe she just wouldn’t sleep at all. Her heart sank heavily in her chest, to the point she thought it settled uncomfortably at the soles of her feet, but she continued to walk, her eyes ever-glazed with tears. She wished she could’ve stayed with Eric. She wished they could’ve lived together, gotten married, and grown old together. Though the decision had been heartbreaking for Leah to make, she believed she’d made the right one, despite the toll it was taking on her, and, probably, Eric.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric's fingers gripped the paper, his eyes wide, welling with tears. His face was taught, reading in silence, clenching his jaw as his eyes scanned over the words. Tears started to spill down his cheeks, falling onto his shirt, and onto the letter. Words were starting to obliterate, and looked up, cheeks wet with silent tears. His face was blank, emotionless, eyes wide and unbeliving. Suddenly, he ripped the paper in half and crunched it into a ball, hurling it across the room. He slammed his fist down onto the counter, then kicked at one of the stools, making it go sliding across the floor. He wrenched his hands through his hair, before pacing back and forth, slipping into one of the booths and harshly banging his head against the surface. Unable to sit still, sobs started to wrack his chest, escaping out of his lips. The tears werent stopping, and he swore again and again, racing outside and cupping his hands around his mouth. "LEAH!? LEAH! LEAH!"

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah watched as the sun finally sank lower, and the usual creeps that came out around this time of night were slinking out of alleyways. Leah’s eyes were tired. So unbearably tired. All of it from crying. Leah wiped her eyes off again, her mind traveling back to Eric. She had to get far away from him. She knew he’d come looking for her—and that’s the last thing she wanted. Leah didn’t want to have to deal with losing him. If she left on her own accord, the pain would be less—or so she thought. Picking up the pace of her walk, Leah headed towards the place she knew Eric would least likely look for her: her home.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
(Maybe I can stay for a little while... And I think he's going into serious depression.)
The rose was snapped in half, its beautiful petals torn and ripped, strewn over the floor near the bed. It was no longer a perfect blossom, but one that had been ruined, spoiled. Eric was lying on the bed, Leah's small stuffed bear hooked under his arm, the only thing he had that was hers. He had no more tears to cry, his eyes red and tired. Staring blankly at the wall, he had sat this way for an hour already, unmoving and hardly blinking at all. His jaw was clenched, and even when he thought his tears had run dry, they started to flow again.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah finally stumbled upon her front lawn. It’d been hours, and her legs were burning, her eyes red and puffy, tears still trickling down her face. Now that she looked at it, seeing the boarded up window that signaled her room, Leah wished she hadn’t left. Through it all, however, Leah still felt as though she’d made the right decision. Walking lamely up to the door and knocking on it, she simply pushed past Liam when he opened it, not bothering to keep the surprise off of his face when he saw that it was her.
“What? Did he assault you or something?”
Leah whipped around, not in the mood for anything Liam put against her, “No! I left him so that he’d be safe from YOU! You filthy, good-for-nothing bastard!” Leah shoved him angrily with almost all the strength she had left before dragging herself up the stairs and slamming the door shut behind her, curling up onto the bed, laying in the darkness, tears forming in her eyes and spilling over her cheeks once more. She hoped Mrs. Quinn would comfort Eric. It was the least she could do.

(He tore up the rose... D':)
The stars twinkled overhead, the sky clear and beautiful, showing the constelations brightly. It was a full moon, and Eric stared up at the sky, his dark eyes reflecting the stars themselves. He was alone, his heart torn to pieces. Shaking his head breifly, he didn't know what to do. He didn't want to eat, he couldn't sleep. Not wanting to leave, less she come back, he stood outside, in the cold weather without a coat. His body was numb, and so were his emotions. He felt hollow and old, as if life, everything he had inside him had been ripped out, leaving him as an empty shell.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
[ Dx I know, this is so freaking SAD! ]
Leah lay on her bed, wishing to be back in Eric’s arms. But after today, there was no turning back. She was back home, back to her old life. There wouldn’t—there couldn’t—be a trial anymore, since she’d volunteered herself to come back home. So, life would go on like before. She’d be the maid, she’d do what she was told, and she’d swear she’d never get involved with another boy again. The thought of losing Eric after losing Micah was too much for her to handle, and she found herself drenched in slightly suicidal thoughts, but she quickly brushed them away, remembering where that’d landed Eric. Heart clenching painfully, Leah fell asleep.
. . . . . . . .Later
Leah was awoken the next morning by the sound of pounding on her door. The unmistakable fists on the door belonged to her father, and Leah, without a moment’s hesitation, got up from bed and walked to the door, opening it. With a wry smile upon her face, she remembered not to stand where she’d stood last time to avoid getting whacked in the forehead with the door. Everything in this room, it seemed, brought back memories of Eric, the one she promised she’d never leave, and yet here she was. She’d left. Leah felt herself tearing up a bit as she listened to the enormous list of chores she had to do (apparently her parents had been storing them up for her return—obviously, they’d been planning on it) and nodded before saying obediently, “Yes, dad. I’ll be down in five minutes.”

(Dont you dare let this topic influence you in any way, or else...)
Morning dawned, but Eric didn't care. He didn't seem to care about much anymore. His body was numb to all feeling, all thoughts, all emotions. It was too much, and now he didn't care. Not anymore. A backpack of clothes was slung over his back, only containing what he had needed. His feet slapped down onto the concrete sidewalk, his blank eyes looking ahead of him, avoiding the other travelers on the sidewalk. He needed to get away from here. He needed to leave, maybe forever. He shouldn't come back in the first place. Having enough money for the train, he knew it was only enough for a one way trip, but maybe that was, enough.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah looked in the mirror and fixed herself up in her usual make-up, taking care of her hair and getting dressed quickly—out of the sweatpants and shirt that smelled like Eric, bringing tears to her eyes. Leah saw the towel that he’d wiped her cut off with was still by the sink, where they’d left it. She picked it up gently and held it to her face, breathing in his scent, before she realized tears were springing at the corners of her eyes again. “I’m so sorry,” Leah murmured, sinking to the floor and crying into the washrag.
