"No-" Eric started, protesting. He saw the silver car down the street a ways, and cursed himself for not parking closer. But in a minute, they reached it, and Eric unlocked the passanger side, slipping Leah in. He hadn't had time to look at her closley, and didn't know what the injuries were, but it was best to get out of there fast, then look later.
He limped to the other side of the car, quickly getting in and jamming the key into the ignition. Pulling forward, he rested a hand on Leah's keeping his eyes on the road, instead of her face, afraid of what it would look like.

Leah was about to protest when she saw the silver corvette coming back down the street. She allowed herself to be inserted into the passanger's seat, having some difficulty putting her seatbelt on, but finally did it, just in time to feel Eric's hand on hers. He wasn't looking at her, and she had no clue why. She decided it was because he was driving and he wanted to watch where he was going. Closing her eyes and ignoring the pounding in her head as best as she could, she muttered softly, "Are we going to Mrs. Quinn's?"

"Shit, Shit, get down Leah!" Eric said, raising his hand and pushing her down in the seat, just as the corvette went flying past, back to the house. Eric continued to drive on as if nothing had happened, but kept a gentle hand on Leah, a silent command to stay down until he said so. They soon reached the parlor, and Eric parked in the back so in case Mr. Corvette came around looking for them, he wouldn't see the car and get suspicious. Quickly exiting the car, he moved around to the other side and opened the passanger door, holding out a hand to help Leah out, though he was planning on carrying her up to the apartment anyhow.

Leah frowned, "Ouch!" She commented when he pushed her down. The move was gentle, yes, but it still hurt. She stayed hunched in that position for quite a while before their car came to a stop and she was allowed to sit up again. She unbuckled her seatbelt and thankfully took Eric's hand. Lifting herself out of the car, she found her legs had lost some of their flimsiness, and she would be able to walk. Her headache, however, was like somebody bashing her in the head with a baseball bat whenever she so much as twitched. Leah wanted to do a major facepalm, but decided against it as she looked up at Eric, her thankfulness plainly etched over every feature on her face.

"Come on," Eric said, grunting slightly as he slid his arms under her legs and arms, picking her up and closing the door with his foot slamming it shut. He made his way to the door, and pushed it open, starting up the stairs without a look from Mrs.Quinn, who was busy serving customers.
He made his way up to the room where he slept, and gently set her down on the bed, his legs trembling from the walking and threatening to give out. Sinking down beside her, he pulled her gently so she was facing him, and only then noticed the bruises that littered her face. He was afraid to see the rest of her body.
Gently brushing her hair out of her eyes, he pursed his lips, before smiling slightly, rather weakly and tired. "We match."

Leah frowned, "Eric, I can walk, you know." Leah wasn't really being truthful, but she felt really bad about him having to carry her everywhere. When they finally got upstairs, sitting on the bed, Eric turning towards her, obviously looking her over. She felt awkward, like she'd done something wrong. When he commented, smiling a bit, she pretty much snapped. She wrapped her arms around him tightly, letting tears fall freely from her face as she curled up beside him. "I don't know how you do it, Eric. I just don't get it." Leah burried her face in his shirt, not really paying mind to the fact she was probably getting it damp with her tears. She was just so glad to be safe, but it also the pain hurt, and crying didn't make it better, but she couldn't help it anymore.

As Leah broke into tears, and leaned against him tightly, he laced his fingers in with hers, and wrapped the other arm protectivly around her body, hugging her close to him. There was nothing he could say, not really. He wasn't even sure how he got through it, but was now so numb to the pain, that it didn't phase him as it used to, no matter how hard the beating was.
"You'll be ok Leah. I promise." Weakly, he reached out and grabbed the small bottle of pain pills by his bed, offering her one. By the looks of it, she had been tossed around pretty bad, and suddenly a horrifying thought struck him.
"Leah, did that man.... do anything else!?"

Leah was content, for the time being, just to let it out. She needed to vent. She hurt so bad. She felt stupid, though, seeing as she was having a total meltdown over only one time. Wiping away her tears with the back of one of her bruised hands, she took the pill. She sat up a bit straighter afterwards, still huddled against him. Still, a few silent tears managed to find make their way down her cheeks. When he asked her that question, she winced slightly. There was no doubt in her mind that he would have. She didn't know why he'd gone out, anyways. Maybe he was getting some gross torture device. She'd never know, and she was glad she wouldn't. After the initial shock of what might've happened if he had, Leah shook her head numbly. "No," she said softly, sniffling softly.

Waiting for her answer, Eric was stick straight, but as she mumbled out her answer, he nodded. "Thank you God." He said softly, stroking her hair away from her face, and looking into her eyes, his full of concern.
"You're going to stay here, with me." He said, though he wasn't asking her, he was telling her. He didn't trust anyone else with Leah, the exeption being Mrs.Quinn, but maybe even not her, considering she had thought Leah was safe with her parents. Resting his forhead gently against hers, he closed his eyes gently, wrapping his arms around her waist.

Leah smiled weakly and looked up into his eyes. He seemed to really care, and it made her heart skip a beat. When he stated she would be staying with him, Leah had no objections. She couldn't go home. And after Eric's comment about Matthew doing 'other things' she was scared shitless to ever show her face in public again (not that she'd want to, given the current state she was in). "That's all right with me." Leah whispered before curling her legs up to her body, wincing as sore muscles stretched, bruises were hit, and scabs cracked. Ignoring the pain, Leah rested her head on his chest, one hand by her head, resting leisurely on his chest as well. She let out a deep breath. She was safe now. She had Eric. And they were safe. Leah, tired and still hurting rather badly, let her eyes flutter close, her head rising and falling with the rhythmic breathing of Eric.

Watching as Leah lightly curled up into him, her head pressed against his chest, his lips pursed gently, and he gently lowered them both back onto the bed, still tangled together. Though he was the one that was taking care of her, he had a peace, a sense of security about him, and felt as if all of the problems in the world were gone, every last one. None of them mattered, not anymore. Leah was safe, He was safe.
The strange and utter attraction between them was odd, yes, but extremley important. It wasn't just like they had 'hooked up', there was really something there. A hidden connection between them. Perhaps it sounded strange, but he didn't care.
At that moment, a rush of passion and thankfulness washed over him, and lying on the bed with her, side by side, arms around her body, and holding her tightly to him, he gently, slowly sllid a finger under her chin, and tilted it upwards, kissing her softly, without hesitance. He pulled away though, and gave her a slight smile, though he was starting to pay for the carrying and walking he had done.

Leah opened her eyes when she was suddenly and gently leaned back, only to realize it was Eric who had leaned them back onto the bed into more of a sleeping position. She smiled. Though her headache was still there, but going away slowly due to the pain meds, she was happy. She was safe. And more importantly, Eric was safe. Mrs. Quinn had him. Not his parents, not anyone else. But then again, it appeared she had him, too. And she wasn't going to let that change. Only after a moment's thought of their attraction, she felt a finger gently lift her chin up, and she stared up for a moment, only to feel Eric's lips pressed tenderly against hers. When he pulled back, she just smiled back. She had no words to describe how she felt. Amazing, wonderful, safe? None of them fit accurately the bigger emotion that was bubbling underneath her skin; and instead of words she just snuggled closer to him, running her finger over his chest in gentle and lazy circles.

Eric felt his heart leap softly at her smile, exuastion written plainly across her features. Shaking his head, he couldn't believe that her own father, her own blood father, had actually given her up to a friend, who had done this to her.
It was almost the same, but.Mike, was only his stepfather, as his birth father had died when he was a baby. He didn't know what it was like to have a father that loved him, but now it didn't matter.
Mrs. Pam Quinn had taken them under her wing, and didn't care about what the cost would be. He didn't know where they would be without her.
"You need to rest Leah." Eric said, his voice cracking slightly with emotion.

Leah turned her head up at him after he'd commented to her. Emotion had seeped into his words, making her feel loved beyond extent. Leah kissed his jaw tenderly before commenting, "Maybe. You're not going to elave, are you?" Leah didn't want him to leave. She knew he probably had another place to rest, or another place for her to rest, but she didn't want him to leave her. She wrapped her arms around his waist, not planning on letting him leave her anytime soon. She felt safe, and she had a very strong feeling that she'd be cold wihtout him.

Glancing at the bedside alarm clock, the glowing red numbers pronounced the time, 12:36. He hadn't bothered to check the time before he had left in the first place, and now turned back to Leah, as she spoke, her voice gentle and soft.
As she kissed his jaw lightly, he felt his heart swell inside his chest, starting to thump a bit faster. "No, no. I wont leave you." Perhaps he was talking about here, now, perhaps he was speaking general.

Leah smiled and returned her cheek back onto his chest, taking one of his hands gently and intertwining her fingers with his, "Good. Because if you ever try, I'm going to have to lock you in this room with me, okay?" Leah's words were muttered with exhaustion, but she was so relieved that she could fall asleep now and have no fear of anybody finding her and beating her. Leah let her eyes flutter closed, and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep, unable to keep her eyes open any longer.

Eric let a light smile cross his lips, and he nodded, feeling her cheek press against his chest, and sure that she could hear his heart beating in his chest, more rapid than usual.
"Ok." He agreed, and let her intertwine her fingers with his, letting his other hand rub small cirlces on her back. Within seconds, after she had spoken, her eyes closed, her breathing becoming deep and regular. Having fallen asleep in the security of Eric's arms, he closed his own eyes, to tired for sleep itself.

It must've been hours when Leah finally woke up. She was so stiff the best movement she could accomplish was opening her eyes. She'd twisted over when she was sleeping, her back facing Eric's chest, one of his arms over her waist. Leah yawned and stayed put for a few minutes, now anting to move. She was trying to remember what exactly had happened, and once she had, she groaned slightly. Leah was just glad that her headache was gone, but the bruises and cuts were still rather painful.

Eric raised his head as he felt Leah stir, as he hadn't been sleeping, just calmly and quietly lying beside her, staying true to his word. As she cracked her eyes open and shuffled softly, and groaned softly as she tried to move.
Eric's hand imedietly flew to her shoulder, and he propped himself up on his elbow, before gently, patting her on the shoulder. "I'll give you another pain pill if you need it, but just let me know." He said quietly, his voice deep and low in his own throat. His ribs hurt like hell, and he pulled up his shirt over his stomach to reveal a large, mottled bruise on his side.

Leah turned her head when she Eric's voice. She let out a deep sigh and shook her head, managing to flip herself over. She stared at his side, frowning. "I'm sorry that happened to you. If I hadn't kept you late..." Leah said quietly, frowning. She hoped it wasn't causing him too much pain. But like he'd said before, 'they matched.' They were probably in just as much pain. Leah kissed his cheek gently.

"Forget about it. I was the one that fell asleep." Eric pushed the topic aside, not wanting to speak about it any longer, as it was rather hard to talk about. Pushing himself into a sitting position, he let his shirt fall back down, and managed to stand, leaning against the frame of the bed as he caught his balance.
"Leah, you still up for that icecream?"

Leah was about ot object, but his body language obviously suggested that he didn't want to talk about it. Leah sighed heavily and rolled her eyes. He was so stubborn. Leah pushed herself into a sitting position, wincing slightly, and ran her fingers through her hair, ignoring how badly it hurt to move. She chuckled and her eyes lit up slightly. "Yeah, totally." Leah said, smiling.

"Well," He took Leah's hand and gently helped her up off of the bed. "Ice cream for dinner." Placing a hand on the small of her back, he ushered her towards the door, and opened it, looking down the narrow stairs and hoping she could make it.
A thought then struck him. What about clothing? They only had the clothes they were wearing, and they were dirty. Shrugging it off, he figured he would tell Mrs. Quinn when they went shopping.

Leah smiled and took his hand greatfully. The stairs didn't look very good to her. She was afraid she'd fall, but her legs felt a lot better. She grabbed the side railing and slowly went down the stairs, thinking about not falling. Thankfully, she didn't, but her legs still did hurt crap when she got to the bottom of the stairs. She turned back up to Eric and frowned, shaking her head, "I still don't see how you manage, Eric. You're like superman."

Eric gently shepharded Leah down the stairs, standing behind her and placing his hands on her hips, ready to steady her if she was to fall. As they reached the bottom, they turned out into the bottom floor, the checkered tiles and red stools greeting them cheerfully. Mrs.Quinn was lounging behind the counter, her feet crossed on the desk in the back, and she waved to the pair as they came down. "Hello lovebirds!"
