Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
No. Leah, I'm not giving up on this, ever. I'm only going to stay 'safe' if you text me as soon as they leave the house, got it? Or else I'll come over their myself and knock on the door.
He would do something like that anyway. He hadn't promised to say safe, and wasn't planning on staying in the apartment tonight, resting like he should be. Not until Leah was out of the house!

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah shook her head, fear gripping her heart. She wouldn't tell him. She couldn't let him put himself in any more danger. She felt a mixture of anger and sadness filled her to the brim, but she let her next reply be quiet in mood. She didn't want him getting himself hurt.
Eric! No! You can't come back. Not ever. Just walk out of my life before you get anymore attached. I can't let you get yourself hurt. It's my fault you're in the state you are now, and I refuse to be the cause of any more pain. Just go, Eric. Just leave and be safe with Mrs. Quinn.
With that, Leah turned her phone off and in a sudden fit of rage, chucked it at the wall and let the screen break and and fizz out of control.

Tears actually started to stream down Eric's cheeks, as he read her last text message. When he tried to send another, he was told that the connection had failed, and his heart throbbed as he realized, that this was it. It was all over? Already? So soon? She had done something, and now he wasn't even able to tell her anything, to speak with her. Thier only tie had been cut, and Eric felt his blood start to boil. As soon as the sun went down, He would be out.
Pam pulled up to the icecream shop, that was temporarilly closed. She quickly opened the door for Eric, and helped him out, though he pushed her away at the touch and painfully got out on his own.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah felt bad. She was heartbroken that she had to say what she did. Leah squeaked slightly as she heard the door open again, this time an unfamiliar man walking into the room. Her father followed closely behind him.
"D-dad?" Leah whimpered, curling herself into a tighter ball. "Dad who is t-this?"
Joseph frowned. "This is my friend from work. His name is Matthew. Since that little friend of yours is probably going to come and look for you, Matthew's going to take you home with him. That way, there's no way your little friend can find you anymore."
Leah kicked angrily as Matthew took her arm, dragging her down the stairs and into his car (which was a corvette. impressive), and she fought him all the way. She didn't like being taken from her home. Especially with one of her father's friends. Her father's male friend, at that.

[ btw, nothing's gonna happen. he's just going to lock her in his basement. o3o ]

(Haha, Eric was going to go to her house in the night.... He still will though, up to you what happens to him. Idk how thier going to ever find eachother again.... This story is addictive, but depressing... :()
Mrs.Quinn was downstairs, tending the icecream shop, leaving Eric to himself. He had tried to send multiple messages to Leah, but it had never gone through, and now he was lying on the soft bed, his head buried in the pillow, that was wet with tears.
Eric never cried, never. Only when something happened, something terrible, did tears ever fall from his eyes.
This could be classified as terrible, for him. He didn't know what had happened to Leah, and his hands clenched into fists.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah stayed quiet in the back seat of the car, refusing to answer any of Matthew's questions. He made her feel like she was being interrogated. Silent tears ran down her face. She wanted to see Eric. She wished she could kiss him one last time. But she knew she couldn't. She couldn't put him in danger anymore. Not ever again. If it meant never seeing him again... she would. As long as he was safe.
[ ikr...!? she'll get ahold of a phone somehow and tell Eric where she is if things get really bad... Joseph will just say that Leah isn't 'with them' anymore. ]

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
After a last visit from the kindly, and worried Mrs.Quinn, Eric was left alone in the apartment. She had closed the shop early, as she needed to head home, and now, Eric was blankly staring at a football game on the telivision, his hand gripping the remote tightly, knuckles white. He didn't know what to do, how to do it, or even what to think.
It almost felt like his mind was caving in, and he couldn't do anything about it.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
It only took ten more minutes for Leah and Matthew to reach her house. When she reached the house, Matthew practically dragged her across the lawn and into his house. When they got inside, he forced her to her feet and said,
"Your father said you were on a strict diet." He chuckled. "Now, down into the basement you go." He shoved her down the stairs, and she tripped over her own feet, tumbling down the rest of the stairs, hitting her head on the side of the stairs and making a cut just above her temple. She groaned slightly, her head hurting and a major migrane coming on. She heard the door slam above her, and she was plunged into darkness.
Unable to keep the tears in anymore, Leah let them fall until she exhausted her energy and fell asleep.

When the sky finally darkened, Eric locked the door behind him, slipping out into the night air. He knew where Leah's home was, and he started to walk towards it, his usual converse clad shoes slapping against the sidewalk. It was about 7pm, and he made his way towards her house. Minutes later, and with a terrible feeling in his gut, he stepped up to the house, before actually knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell, his hands shoved deep inside his pockets as he waited anxiously, feeling as he was about to vomit.

Joseph heard the doorbell ring, he got up and turned the TV on mute. He unlocked the door and opened it wide. He stared at Eric before a vicious grin spread across his face. "I guess you're looking for Leah, huh?" Joseph ushered Eric in. "I guess you'd like to know something of great importance." Joseph showed him the upstairs. "Leah just happens not to be here anymore. Go check her room if you wish. But she's no longer....with us." Joseph chuckled and walked away, into the kitchen.

Eric looked at Leah's father as soon as he opened the door, wanting to turn back but not doing so. He stumbled slightly as he was pulled into the house, and was soon pushed up the stairs. As Joseph left him alone in Leah's room, he felt his eyes welling up, before he limped to her bed, picking up the small, blue stuffed bear that was sitting on her bed.Gripping it tightly in his hands, he left the room after a search, and also, left the house.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
[ woah, sorry. whenever the phone rings it disconnects me from the internet.. idk why, it's not supposed to, and it doesn't to any of the other laptops in the house -.-'' ]
When Leah awoke, she had a huge headache. When she tried to lift herself up, the pounding in her ears became unbearable and she was forced to lay back down. She found more bruises on her legs and arms, suggesting Matthew had been down her and tried to wake her up. It obviously hadn't worked. She was sore all over, and the pain was almost unbearable. Her mind flashed to Eric, and she wondered how he delt with this on a daily basis. Groaning, Leah saw a small flash of light in the corner of the basement. At first she was hesitant to approach it, but when she finally got up, despite the pain all over her body, she saw it was a cell phone. It looked old and abused, but it made her eyes light up. She fell onto the floor and grabbed it, typing in Eric's number by memory and texting him:
Eric, please help. It's me, Leah. My dad sent me to his friend Matthew's house.... I can't take it anymore, Eric. I don't know the address of this place, though... I need help, I don't know what to do...
As Leah hit send, she heard the basement door opening and she hid the light of the phone, only to see Matthew coming down the stairs.
"You're awake," he commented cheerily, the smile on his face sending shivers down her spine.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
The morning light streamed into the window, Eric looking rather rediculous. The small blue bear was stuffed under his arms, as he lie on his stomach, face buried in the soft fluff of the pillow Pam had so nicley suplied. Soon, he woke up, shifting slightly, cracking one eye open and closing it as the sun penetrated into his pupil, before sitting up as his phone rang.
Not knowing what it was at first, he looked blearilly around, blinking a few times, before he picked up his phone. He got a new text message, sent by an unknown sender, and he warrily opened it, his heart starting to flop in his chest wildly as he read the text. Deciding to respond, his fingers typed quickly over the keys.
Leah, dont move. Stay where you are. Tell me what you remember, everything that you saw before you got to the house. Landmarks, everything. I'm coming to find you.
(Ugh... I was eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and the jelly got onto the keyboard.... now its all sticky!)

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Matthew continued to walk down the stairs until he was level with Leah. He stuck his face so close to hers she could feel his breath on her lips, cheeks, and partially on her neck.
"You didn't happen to see my cell phone, did you?" Matthew said in a daunting vioce, coming even closer to her face. She shied away instinctively and shook her head, curling up into a little ball. Matthew withdrew and kicked her side rather harshly before muttering a string of curses to himself, pounding back up the stairs and slamming the door shut, plunging her into darkness once more. Leah was convinced he was only making up excuses to come down here and scare her.
When she was sure he was gone, Leah texted Eric back as fast as she could, knowing the dangers of what would happen if she were caught.
I don't know! I was in the back of the car, I couldn't see much. But it was about three or four blocks from my house... he has a silver corvette. That's all I can give you. Please help, Eric. I'm scared... I have to go now, he'll probably beat me to death if he finds out I have his phone. Come quick, please.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
(Should he go away to work? Perhaps something so that way Eric can get in?)
It was too much for Eric to handle. Slipping on his shoes, he threw open the door, not bothering to reply to Leah's text. It would take far too long. Taking the steps down to the floor below two at a time, he almost tripped over his feet as he scrambled out the door. Mrs.Quinn glanced up, alarmed as he went flying past, but didn't make a move to stop him, knowing she was in no position herself. Eric burst out of the building, having snagged the car keys on his way out. He ran to the car, opened the door, then thrust the keys into the ignition, turning it on, before slamming shut his door and pulling out of the drive. He knew how to drive, and had a licence, but didn't have a car of his own. As he passed Leah's house, his sharp eyes looked out the window, searing for a silver corvette, the only thing that he knew of that could help him find Leah.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
[ okay, he can go to work ^^ ]
Leah heard a string of curses and the pounding of footsteps from the upstairs as she huddled in the basement, every part on her body sore, bruised, or cut. The slash across her temple still hurt badly and her headache only got worse each time she moved. To her relief, she heard the door slam upstairs, and the noise ceased. She would've gone up the stairs and found a way out, if her shaking legs would've supported her. Instead, Leah stayed where she was, ears ringing, head pounding, and every move she made hurting. Even breathing seemed to be a hassle. Going through this made Leah understand why Eric had overdosed. And she didn't have to deal with this every day like he did. It made her realize how strong Eric must really be

There, there it was!
Slowly driving by, Eric saw a silver corvette pull out of the drive of a house, the driver a gruff looking, middle aged man. He was scowling, and beeped harshly at Eric, before hitting the gas and speeding off down the road, before turning out of sight. Eric parked the car a little ways away, before getting out, locking the doors behind him and jogging across the road, eyes intent and worried. He slowly made his way up to the house, jumping up the stairs to the front door and rapping on it loudly, ringing the doorbell several times to see if anyone was home.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah jumped when she heard the doorbell. She wanted to get up the stairs, but each time she tried to get up her legs failed her, feeling very much like jello. She remembered she had the phone still, and maybe she could text Eric that she was down in the basement. Leah was scared. The basement was cold and she hurt all over. Taking out the cell from behind her back, the light burning her eyes, she texted him rather rapidly, not paying attention to any spelling errors she had,
right hoiuse. i'm inthe basemtne. cant get up the stairs. i dont know how you'll getin.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
"Shit!" Eric swore loudly, as he tried the handle after reading Leah's text. He had gotten this far, and he wasn't about to give up any time soon. Then, he realized the side door to the garage was opened partially. The man must have left in a hurry, and after glancing around him to be sure no one was watching, Eric opened the door and slipped into the dark garage. An overhead light quickly flicked on, and he jumped, but realized, with relief, that it was motion activated.
Trying the handle for the door, he was amazed to find that it was open, and slipped into the house. The interior was smooth and polished, very well cleaned. Everything was in its right place, and Eric inwardly grimaced, not knowing how anyone could keep it this well kept. He opened up door after door, each leading to closets or rooms, before he finally found the basement. Opening the door, he peered into the dark depths.
"LEAH!?"

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah stayed put. He hadn't answered her text, but she faintly heard footsteps upstairs, frantically searching for something. For a split second she was scared it was Matthew who'd come back looking for his cell phone, but when she heard the familiar voice of Eric she let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding. "Eric!" she called from where she was, "Thank God you're here!" She attempted to scoot closer to the door, only to be rewarded with an aching in her legs and the pounding in her head growing even more fiercum[sp!]. "Ouch." she said quietly and hoped he'd be able to find her in the abyss of the basement, seeing as she was tucked away in the corner of the room.

"Leah!?" Eric stumbled down the stairs, not finding a light switch, and not bothering to look for one. Her voice sounded weak and tired, and he woke up his cell phone, using the light to look around the room, not seeing Leah anywhere, and starting to freak, when he saw a huddled body in the corner. It was then his phone decided to die.
"Shit, Damn it!" He swore loudly, before shoving it into his pocket, and groping in the darkness, before tripping over her body and falling onto his elbows.
"Fuck!"
Scrambling to his feet, he grabbed hold of her arm, gently raising her off of the ground, before quickly picking her up in his arms, making his way towards the light of the basement door.
(Sorry, he is quite the swearing machine)

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
[ lol i don't mind much xD ]
Leah grunted slightly when he tripped over her, finding it more awkward than painful. She didn't mind his profanity. The ringing in her ears blocked out most of it. She winced slightly when he helped her up, placing her in his arms. He was hurrying, though she didn't know why, but she didn't care. The idea that she was finally safe from it all was almost too much for her to handle, and it took most of her strength to keep herself from crying. She burried her face in his shirt and stayed there, enjoying his familiar warmth and smell, thanking every God she'd ever heard of that he'd found her. A tear of relief slid down her cheek, but she didn't speak a word. It seemed she'd lost the will to speak, now that she felt safe. She felt as if she could just sleep, but she knew she couldn't. Sleep would only bring her nightmares of never waking back up, and the thought horrified her. She was too young to die, though at the moment Leah would rather be dead.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
With a grunt of effort, Eric managed to pick up his legs, carrying them both up the stairs. His muscles and bones ached, and he needed a pain pill, but he pushed that aside and focused on getting them out of there, and quickly. If that man were to come back home, he had an awful feeling that they would both be locked in the basement... For who know's how long. Kicking open the door, he carried Leah outside, starting to limp painfully and wincing every time weight fell on his leg.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah noticed him limping and she removed her head from his shirt, groaning slightly as her head pounded. "Eric, if you can't carry me, put me down. I can make it to the car." Leah frowned inwardly. She probably couldn't, but she didn't want to put Eric in any more pain than he already was. She felt like a wimp. Not being able to walk after being beaten once. And Eric had dealt with it all of his life. And yet, here he was, fresh out of the hospital from an overdosage, and carrying her out to the car. If anything, it should be the other way around.
