Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah smiled and said without thinking, "Micah liked this one too," Leah turned up the volume and settled the earbuds in between them, so the words and tune were just hearable over the downpour outside. Leah had almost zoned out herself when she heard something bump, and looked over to see Eric rubbing his head. She chuckled and teased, "You all right there, hotshot?" Leah smiled pleasantly at him, resisting the urge to laugh again. Now here he was rubbing his head over his already mussled hair, making it only worse. But again, she thought it looked kinda cute.

Michah?
Eric frowned for a second, before his face cleared and he let out a half hearted chuckle. "I'm fine. I forget how tall I have gotten from when I used to sit under here." He said truthfully, raising his arms and placing his fingers on the 'roof' over them. Scooting down lower, he looked at Leah, who seemed to be deep in thought. He understood. They all needed some quiet time sometimes, and while it was raining, was a perfect time to to something of that nature.

Leah smiled gently, "Yeah, you're pretty tall." Without thinking, Leah furrowed her brows, "It's sort of funny. Last time I was in here was only about two months ago." She laughed at herself quietly, then sighed. Wanting to spark conversation, Leah began to speak a bit more, "What do you usually do in your free time? A lot of the time I'm locked up in my room, so being here with you is a nice change." Leah grinned before switching the song after it had landed on Leah and Micah's song, which sent it to "Stutter" by Maroon 5. She facepalmed herself inwardly. Was she really this obsessed with Maroon 5? She had almost all of their songs.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
"I havent' been in here since I was a kid..." Eric said truthfully, though he didn't mention that he wasn't just in here playing. He remembered clearly running away from the house, after a final beating. He had only been eight years of age, and he had found this park in his run. Curling up in this exact spot, he had sat here for hours, crying on and off, untill he had been found by his step father and forced to go back home. The conciquences from running away, werent necicarrily pleasent, as Eric remembered. He shuttered, but not because of the cold.
Snapping out of his daydream, he looked to Leah, who seemed to be intently watching him. "I'm so sorry... I'm... thinking." As the new song came on, his lips curled into a slow smile, and he shifted slightly.
"You like Maroon 5?" Stating the obvious, that was Eric for you.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
When he shuttered, Leah thought it was probably because he was cold. They were soaked head-to-toe, after all, and it was still raining outside, making a chilly atmosphere. Leah felt herself blush slightly at his comment and bashfully nodded.
"Micah loved them, he was the one who got me obsessed." Leah smiled slightly as she remembered Micah singing along loudly (and rather off-key) to all of the Maroon 5 songs he knew practically by heart. But at the same time, she felt a pang in her heart and she sighed sadly, without meaning to. She lifted her head and looked around before deciding to change the subject.
"What bands are you interested in?" Leah asked.

Eric shook his head. He wondered who Micah was in the first place, but shrugged it off. Straightening, he shrugged. "I dont have a preferance... Not really." He said quietly. He usually didn't listen to music, but he made sure to keep up to date on the new artists, so he wouldn't really be considered a freak...
The rain slowly started to dwindle, and Eric looked outside, watching as the large drops started to slow.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah frowned, catching the fact that she'd mentioned Micah yet again. Deciding she'd try to hold her tongue next time, she shrugged. "Eh, I know a few people who don't like any bands at all..." Leah was referring to people she used to know, before Micah's death. She silently noted that he had looked outside as the rain began to slow and she picked up her iPod. "If you want to go, you can. I'll probably stay here a while." She sighed heavily. "It's not like I have anybody waiting at home for me. They probably haven't noticed I'm gone yet."
Leah shrugged casually. This was a normal thing, to her.

"I can go if you want me too-" Eric quickly stated, straightning up and almost bumping his head on the roof again. Shaking his head, he sighed heavilly, and glanced at Leah.
"I'll go home to an empty house anyway.." He started, then trailed off.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah shook her head, "No, that's not what I meant! I just meant if you wanted to..." Leah trailed off, feeling rather ridiculous. She laughed a bit, blushing a tiny bit, when he hit his head again. "Either way, we should probably go somewhere else, so you don't give yourself brain damage." Leah smiled at him lightheartedly.
Her smile faded a bit when he said he would go to an empty home anyways. She sighed and stared at her feet, catching a glimpse of muscles underneath the white T-shirt that was still clinging to his body, though it seemed to have dried a bit now. "Does your family ignored you, too?"

A small smile tugged at the corners of Erics mouth, and he glanced up, his arms draped lazilly over his stomach. "I have already given myself brain damage, dont you think?" Laughing, he listened as she started to speak again, and his humor and smile dissapeared.
"No... They..He doesent ignore me... at all." Eric involentarrily flinched then shook his head, his dark eyes gleaming slightly. Looking up to where Leah was still sitting, he rolled his shoulders, cramped in the small space.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah smiled a bit when he smiled. Even when he wasn't smiling fully, it was an attractive smile. It made her, oddly enough, feel warm inside. It wasn't one of those dirty playboy smiles, but instead a rather gentle smile, and she was sure any girl he'd ever dated must've felt quite safe and loved whenever he smiled at her. Unfortunately, Leah noticed he didn't really smile very often, only a tiny twitch of the lips every now and again. She laughed at his comment and shook her head, "Actually, I don't think so. But then again, I don't know you very well, do I?" she teased, then looked at him as he fumbled for words. Before she could stop herself from saying the stupidest thing yet, she asked,
"Did whoever-it-was do something to your wrist?"
When Leah caught herself she felt her face burn red, and she couldn't even say sorry, and instead looked down dejectedly at her feet, allowing her hair to intentionally fall in her face, obscuring it.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Listening quietly, Eric decided that he liked it when she talked. Her voice was soft and quiet, not loud and demanding, harsh. He felt himself rather warming inside when she looked at him, and unknowingly pushed the feeling away, down hard. Her sudden question made him raise his eyes sharply, looking at her, and seeing her blush and turn her head away.
He didn't answer for a few moments, and the silence bore down on the pair heavilly. His eyes moved down, looking at his wrist, to where there were several long white scars wrapping around the underside of his wrists. Raising an hand, he ran his thumb across the scars, his face taught.
"No. I did it to myself." Eric's words were soft and sad, and he looked up at Leah's face.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah didn't look up at all until he actually replied. It surprised her majorly, as she hadn't expected him to answer it at all. In fact, she was expecting him to totally go off on her. Forgetting to apologize for even asking, Leah looked at him, eyes soft and worried, holding a bit of pity and a lot of compassion. She was at loss for words for a moment. Why would he do that? The fact that somebody would have such an awful life that they stooped to cutting themselves almost made her want to cry.
"I-I'm sorry," Leah said quietly, "I really shouldn't have a-asked in the first place... It was rude." Leah didn't voice her opinion about wanting to know why he'd done it, because she decided she'd done enough talking for one day. Everything she said always came out wrong, and she turned her head in the opposite direction, letting her face cool down and staring at the raindrops that were now becoming fewer and fewer.
That's one of the reasons she had loved Micah so much. He put up with her incessant jabber and sometimes rude comments, and he'd never judged her. Leah's face sombered slowly as she remembered Micah. Eric seemed to remind him in some ways, and she didn't know how much longer she could stand looking at the mysteriously attractive teen that she was now cramped into a tiny enclosure with. Every time he smiled, she saw Micah's face, and when she realized it wasn't Micah, she could feel her heart crack a little more.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
"No, no." Eric imedietly shook his head. "That's the part about getting to know someone. If I saw that you had ugly scars all over you're wrist, I would ask too! If you want to get to know someone, you cant be afraid to ask about them." He said truthfully, running his finger over the scars before dropping his hand.
"It was a...mistake anyhow. Dont do it. Ever." He made sure to tell her that it had been a bad decision, and slowly crawled out of the small space. As soon as he was out, he thrust his hand back into the small shelter and peered down into it, cocking his head to the side and holding out his hand. "You coming or not? I just need to stretch my back." It was true, he was cramped and his back hurt. "But dont worry about it. It's perfectly fine."

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah nodded timidly. She wasn't quite sure what to say to that. He was right, of course, and she watched motionlessly as he got out of the small area. Only seconds later, his hand was thrust back into the compartment, nearly in her face. She nodded hesitantly and took his hand thankfully, getting to her feet and crouching to get out of the small enclosure. "Thanks." She smiled before letting his hand go reluctantly and stretching, her wet clothes still clinging to her, but not as much, and she wasn't very cold anymore.
"So, now what?" Leah asked, shoving her hands in her pockets and swinging back and forth in a bored yet playful fashion.

Eric smiled softly as she grasped his hand, pulling herself out of the enclosure, and standing, stretching. Eric did the same, cracking his back and grimacing at the popping sound. "Ooh.. Sorry." Laughing a little, the cool breeze blew his hair lightly around his head, and he cocked his head to the side. He guessed that she probably would want to go home soon, seeing as she was cold, wet, and probably miserable, and he gave her a breif smile, before pulling his black phone out of his pocket.
"Hey, dont mean to bother, but maybe we could get eachothers numbers?" He asked, seemingly a bit timid.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah winced a bit at the cracking noise, but chuckled when he apologized about it. She attempted to run a hand through her wet and tangled hair, but was forced to stop halfway through, as her fingers couldn't penetrate the knots that had formed. Grimacing deeply, she sighed. Her eyes lit up, though, when he offered to give each other their numbers. She reached in her back pocket and pulled out her iPhone, a strange steely grey with a hot-pink-and-skull-patterned casing and nodded, "Sure, that'd be fine." She smiled and blushed very lightly in the cheeks, before going to her contacts and putting his name in the slot really quickly before telling him her number.
{ not going to put a cell number xD make it up if you want, I be too lazy to come up with one. }

(Nah. I'm to lazy too! xD)
Eric felt releived as she nodded, and quickly reached into her pocket, pulling out her iphone. Typing in her number carefully, he saved the contact and told her his. He was glad he had been out at the park, and had followed her. Who knew where this was headed? Not saying that the had ideas, but he needed a good friend... Maybe this girl, Leah, would fit glove for him. Just maybe, they would end up being friends.
He silently broke out of his throughts, and gave her a slight smile. He swore he had smiled more today, then he had in months. And just because of one person. Looking down at the wet sidewalk, he shoved the phone back into his pocket, and nodded.
"I'll see you around?"

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah put in his number as well and saved it. She looked up after returning her phone to her back pocket and stretching one last time. She smiled back at him, the warm feeling of seeing his smile returned as he smiled. She nodded and waved, "Yeah, I'll see you, hopefully." She turned to leave, then thought twice and said, "It's probably better if you text me, I tend to answer quicker." Leah smiled a bit shyly before turning around and walking in the direction of her house. It'd be really nice to get in a nice shower. Plus, she'd have to straighten her hair. Fudge her makeup, she didn't want to put anymore on today anyways. She put her earbuds back in her ears and turned on her iPod, smiling brightly with an odd yet priceless feeling in the pit of her stomach. Maybe she'd actually made a friend. She hoped so. In a way, she sensed they were more alike than either of them knew. But who knew? Only time would tell, now.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Eric gave a small wave, before turning his back, shoving his hands deep into his pockets, and striding down the sidewalk, his head down, watching as his shoes slapped against the concrete. Turning one last time, he saw that she had gotten her way down the sidewalk, and hoped that thier.. talk, had made her feel better. For once, the sickening feeling of dread wasn't roiling in the pit of his stomach as he walked home, only starting as he reached the driveway. Thankfully, his mother, nor his stepdad's cars were in the garage or the driveway, and he pushed the feeling down, hopeing the two were gone for a while. Pushing open the front door with his foot, he closed it behind him, kicking off his shoes and heading upstairs. His backside was coated with dirt from the ground they had been sitting on, and he reached his room, closing the door and locking it behind him, just in case. He quickly headed into his bathroom, where he stripped of his clothes and placed his phone on the sink, turning it up just in case Leah decided to text him, which wasn't likely, but he could still hope.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
By the time Leah returned home, it seemed her family had already eaten, and her plate was sitting, cold, on the dinnertable. She could hear their laughter and the sound of the TV buzzing from the living room, and she sighed heavily. Like always, her family had forgotten about her.
It'd been this way since Micah died. Apparently, they only liked Leah because Micah had been such a great person. He'd made her happy. So happy, and she was enjoyable during that one year she'd spent as his girlfriend. Leah nearly started tearing up, but instead, in a sudden fit, flipped her plate over and stormed up the stairs. If her family didn't care for her, why stay?
Leah knew, however, that she couldn't just leave. Not yet, anyways. She walked into her room and shut the door behind her, flicked the lock and took off her wet clothes before tossing her phone on the bed and going to get a shower.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
20 minutes later, Eric was fresh, clean, and wrapped in a towel. Standing in front of the mirror, he rubbed a spot in the foggy mirror, seeing his face in the reflection, and sighed, glancing at his phone. The screen was black, the light, not blinking. So no text. Whatever, that was fine anyway. He stepped out of the bathroom, quickly changing into black sweats and a black t-shirt, then tossing his wet clothes into his laundry bin. Flopping down onto his bed on his stomach, he grabbed the sleek black laptop that was plugged in near his bed, and flipped it open, typing in his password and watching as the screen soon gave way to his back desktop wallpaper. It seemed like everything in his life was... well, black. Colorless. Shaking his head, he brushed his damp hair out of his eyes, opening up his email. Nothing new, of course. There was no one to email him anyway.
Picking up his phone, he gazed blankly at the screen, thinking about texting Leah, but deciding not to. He had just met her anyway. And texting her would just be a bother. To her.

Re: Never Alone. (Shiori)
Leah took a short shower, stepped out and felt too lazy to put actual clothes back on. So, instead, she put on her regular undergarments and a cami-tanktop and short-shorts that she usually wore as pajamas. She flopped down onto a beanbag couch she'd made with Micah and grabbed her phone, deciding she needed somebody to talk to. Yawning shortly first, her usually straight hair going wavy, as she opened up a new text message and picked Eric's number to send it to.
Hey, sup? she texted before getting off text messages to go and play fruit ninja.
