Nell du Merle ..:Closed:..
Full Name :: Nell Lynet du Merle
Condensed Name :: Nell du Merle
Nickname :: N/A
Age :: 22
Status :: Peasant
Occupation :: Stablehand
Hair Type :: Wavy
Hair Color :: Brown
Eye Color :: Brown
Height :: 5'7
Overall :: She's sassy, independent, and has a deep-rooted hatred for the upper class, being a peasant herself and having lived that way her entire life. She can be both selfish and selfless, and it tends to depend on who she's dealing with. She's got an affinity with horses and loves every moment spent with her stallion, Patriot. She's much calmer and loving towards horses than human beings and can be a real pain in the ass sometimes, but she doesn't care. She's got a tongue that'll one day get her into trouble. She's only caring for the old man, Hadrian, who took her in after the fire. She's easily offended and lashes out easily but if the nail hits too close to home she will become unusually quiet. Rarely does she show her emotional side, preferring to come off to the world as unbeatable and fearless, even though the memory of her lost family and home still burn in her mind, years later. Nell knows the difference between right and wrong, good and bad, acceptable and unacceptable, but chooses to pretend there's a fine line between the two and often goes with what her gut tells her - and more often than not it's the "wrong" thing to choose. Either way, she's found herself very content with the life she's living with Hadrian, helping take care of the stables and the horses, happy to not be disrupted by the world around her.
Overview :: Nell was born into peasantry but nevertheless lived an economically pleasant life, with enough money to support her, her father, mother, and other sibling. Ever since she could walk she was taught in the ways of a horsewoman and learned everything there was to know about them, and even with all her training she had a talent with horses that was completely her own - all natural; something that her father couldn't have possibly taught her. Her life was uneventful for the most part, helping train horses, help mares foal, control the buying and selling of horses, breeding, and pretty much everything under the sun. Her lifestyle wasn't easy and was far past physically taxing but it was worth it, especially after she'd gotten into shape during her teenage years when she really started helping out. Nell's life was what she would describe as perfect, until the day her parents were killed in a fire. Their barn was caught ablaze, and while it was on the 'record' as "coincidental" Nell knew the fire had been intentional, but who was going to listen to the female stablehand? After her parent's death, not knowing where her brother was, she left and wandered for a long while with her own horse Patriot and a pregnant mare, whom she ended up selling so she could afford food and drink and a roof over her head, even for a little while. It didn't take long for her to bump into Hadrian: an ancient fellow who ran his own stable, but was decrepit and hired her the moment she walked in, saying "Yeh've got a natural glow about ye. Ye'll do fine with me horses." Ever since, she fell into the quiet routine of taking care of the horses and doing everything she'd done at her own stable, as well as enjoying the not-so-quiet companionship of Hadrian. And while the painful memories would never leave her mind, nor would her heart ever completely heal, she found happiness in her humble lifestyle and would do anything to keep it that way.
Horse :: Patriot, Stallion

So, it's actually slightly unfortunate that I have big dreams and plans for this roleplay, so if you decide you'd like to do it with me please be aware that I will be giving a lot of my own input as to plot points and things like that. Firstly, this period (if you haven't gathered that already, or guessed a similar time period) is the medieval period, because, heck, I freaking adore the medieval period. No, it's not the medieval period to a T, because honestly? My knowledge doesn't encompass the medieval period entirely, so I suppose it's safer to say it's simply heavily based off of medieval themes, people, occupations, etc., etc. I want this roleplay to be a mature, well-written, long-posted roleplay. I already have the first post written (I actually wrote it a long time ago) and it is 2,121 words, so that should put it into perspective. I'm not asking for 2000+ word posts, either, but around 1000 would be nice, nothing under 800, though, please. I know I'm being a bit of a nitpick but I really want to do this roleplay and I have, like I said, big dreams for it. So if you're interested feel free to comment or message me. Thank you!

((I NOW GIVE POST, BECAUSE TIME IS MONEY, AND I AM VERY POOR!)
Standard Stuff:
Full Name - Francis Kimbleton
Common Name - Frank Kimble
Nickname – “St. Frank” or “Mnt. Kimble”
Age - 28
Status – Prophet/Churchman
Occupation - Friar
Appearance:
Hair Type – Short/Disheveled
Hair Color – Dark Brown
Eye Color – Grey Blue
Height – 5’9”
Destription – St. Frank once had the nickname “walking skeleton” during his travels, as an introduction. He fasts very often, at least twice a week, and travels everywhere on foot unless escorted, thus he has some muscle, but his minimal diet leaves his stature very lacking. He shaves every day, and cuts his hair using the knife he shaves with. At first glance, covered with his brown friar robe and holding his stave, he looks little more learned or noble than a beggar. To spite this first impression, his use of facial expression, body gestures, and animated movement can make his rather lacking physical appearance and cleanliness seem to vanish.
Distinguishable Features – Francis has no noticeable scars, bruises, deformities, or abnormal structures to point out. His cheek bones are rather sharp, and his eyes naturally rest in a very relaxed, calming gaze. He smiles often enough that he grins even when fully relaxed or sleeping. Despite how skinny he is, the majority of his bones are indistinguishable from under his skin, making him look, rather paradoxically, sickly yet strong.
Personality and Behavior:
Overall – Frank is a careful, cheerful, warm, pragmatic and overall welcoming man in how he behaves around others. Even when alone, Frank always has a positive outlook for his situations. As with any churchman, he is very persuasive, however Frank is especially persuasive compared to most: a master of equivocation, debate, compromise, and pacifying. He acquired the nickname, “Mount Kimble” due to his immovable stance in early scholarly debates, and has kept the name ever since. His cheerfulness and warmth come from his eagerness to pull people together and to love his neighbor.
Frank is not a perfect man, of course. Having been born the son of a merchant, he struggles with being greedy, often haggling with merchants a bit too much when given a bad starting price. He also tends to be dishonest in stressful situations, often using bluffs and equivocation to worm his way out of accusations, threats, and even payment. As a result of his flaws, he has very strong doubts about his own strengths as a person, and even as a leader. He fights with his “human nature” constantly on a day to day basis, and will regularly pause mid-conversation to ensure he is thinking in the right mindset. As a result, this “fighting” is quite apparent among people he talks regularly with.
Additionally, in his letters, he finds that beauty is a necessity in the use of expensive paper and ink, so he regularly writes letters with superb calligraphy. He does not handle compliments well, often becoming flustered after receiving one, however he receives criticism and insult very naturally. He only sends letters while resting in a city, for when he is travelling, he rarely ever socializes, using the time for meditation.
History:
Overview – More or less, to be determined.
Frank was born into the family of a wealthy high-quality textile merchant and his wife. He was raised under the assumption that he would take over the family business. He was exceptionally promising, having a natural talent for haggling and persuasion necessary for excelling in his father’s trade. After awhile, Frank met a friar and realized how corrupt his father’s workings actually were. As a result, before his apprenticeship in textile vending was announced by his father, he publically exclaimed that he, “will not repeat the mistakes of my ancestors, as the learned man steers clear of his ancestors mistakes!”
His father, in an outrage, expelled him from the family. Frank was admitted into the church, a broken man, and was given an apprenticeship under a friar. After a few years, he passed the final test of his mentor and became a certified friar. From that point on, he has been travelling from town to town, city to city, settlement to village, hut to house. He never heard from his father nor his mother, despite sending several letters to them.
Miscellaneous Information:
His pacing is rather odd while walking without a cane, for he will lean an almost unnoticeable amount to the left to compensate for the lack of support, and his pacing favors his left foot as a result.
