Blaze sighed. "OK, come with me." He replied and brought Chakotay to a far away place to speak. "Look... Before Nanuk left Genocide, I had fallen in love with Nanuk. I didn't want to tell you because you care about Genocide so much." Blaze replied, his brown eyes clouding with guilt. "I didn't even tell Durnal. And he's my brother! I trust him more than anyone." He added

Chakotay nodded. "Nanuk is one difficult wolf, but I can see where you would find something to love in her. And you could've of told me, just because I care about Genocide doesn't mean I'll go physco on you for loving someone who hurt her. The heart wants what the heart wants, Blaze."

Blaze smiled, and nodded. "Thanks for understanding, Chakotay." Blaze said, his eyes no longer guilty.

"And if your brother doesn't like it, then I'll back you up. After all, he has no right to control who you love, right?" Chakotay nudged him, tilting his head.

Blaze nodded. "Right. But Durnal is a wise Alpha with experience. He knows more than I do." Blaze replied. "All members under the Alpha rank must respect the Leader, my father once said." Blaze added.

Chakotay sent him a dull look. "He is an alpha, but he has no right to take away those you love. If you loved someone from a rival pack, and they loved you, would he break your heart and make you split up?"

Blaze looked shocked. "Of course he wouldn't! Durnal is nothing like that." Blaze replied.

Genocide walked through the forest with Chakotay. "So, Chakotay. What do you wanna do?" She asked, a bright smile on her face.

Chakotay tilted his head, watching the trees. "I'm not sure." He froze, and turned. A beaten down looking fae stepped from the trees, a scar going from one side of her muzzle to her ear. She lifted her head, and looked at Genocide. Nanuk. The fae turned away as if burned. "Uh... Hi..."

Genocide growled but studied the scar on her face. "What happened?" She asked, taking a pace forward. Genocide may not like her as much as before, but she wouldn't just stand and pretend it was nothing.

Nanuk had held her head high, but now it was low. "I was alone... hunting, and a bear nearly killed me...." She shook her head, and then turned to Chakotay. "Blaze will be happy to see you."

Blaze was already there. "Nanuk!" He cried, half shocked and half happy. He grabbed some cobwebs and berries and tended to her wounds. "Where's your father?" He asked, too stunned. Genocide had turned her back away, to cry into Chakotay's pelt. Half in anger, and half in fright for Nanuk.

Nanuk jerked away. "My father is back with the pack. There has been talk of an invasion, but we aren't sure yet. He sent me away." She backed away when Genocide started crying.

Chakotay gently pulled Genocide back. "We'll be at the pack site." He lifted her onto his back, and took off.

Blaze sighed and licked her wounds. "It was mouse-brained." Blaze growled.

Genocide loved Chakotay. As a friend, anyway. "Thanks Chakotay." She whispered.

Nanuk looked at him in confusion. "What was? Sending me away so I wouldn't get hurt?"

Chakotay let Genocide slide to the ground, and found Durnal. "Nanuk is back."

Durnal flicked his ears and growled. "After she made my daughter cry, I don't care." Durnal snarled, turning back to Katniss. Dakota was practically drooling over her.

Genocide snuggled next to Chakotay and smiled.

Katniss listened to Durnal, her ears back slightly. Her eyes moved from wolf to wolf and stopped to Dakota. Was it just her, or Dakota has been staring at her for an awful long time? No, it couldn't be just her. She gave a small doggy grin at the young wolf and nodded. "Could you show me around?" she asked, trying to be friendly. She didn't want to be any part of the drama, but wanted to be liked. Maybe starting a relationship with the alpha's son would help and she liked the sound of it. She flicked her tail slightly in a friendly manner.

Dakota smiled and nodded. "Of course. Follow me." Dakota replied, leading her to a den. "This is where the Alpha's, Beta's, Delta's and pups sleep. The den for the lower ranks is over there." He told her, flicking his tail towards it.

Katniss's tail swished, following Dakota casually to the den. Her head swerved over towards the lower rank den, which she was guessing she was going to be sleeping in from now on. But Katniss preferred sleeping outside, in open air. Unless cold bit through her thick fur coat and prevented her from it. "Seems comfty." she told him simply, observing the Alpha den. Must be nice not having to share a den except with your mate.

"You're going to like my father. He is fearless. Every Wolf he has fought, they lost because of his strength." Dakota said. Dakota looked exactly like Durnal. But Dakota was a wildly handsome brute.

Katniss looked at him, actually looked at him for the first time since they met. She noticed that this brute was incredibly handsome and she could tell he was related to Durnal. She sat back on her haunches, her eyes filled with interest. "I could tell that you and your dad are related. Same eyes, same pelt color... same... strength maybe?" She cocked her head, continuing to obseve him. Her tail thumped on the dirt pelted ground below her. "Handsome brute."

"I look like my Dad. I'm much like my Dad, but I'm not nearly as strong yet." Dakota replied until hearing her last comment. "Why thank you, Katniss." He replied, scuffling his paws nervously. Was she complimenting him? Dakota looked at Katniss, "You know, Katniss. You are very pretty yourself." He said, his depth-less emerald orbs looking at her.
