"I'm sorry, Nanuk. It's just not the same." Blaze replied. His voice barely more than a whisper, he added, "I love you." Blaze lifted his head and felt like he was drowning in the depths of her hazel eyes.

Nanuk recoiled as if she had been slapped. "You can't... you hardly know me!" She blinked rapidly, pressing herself to the side of the den. Slowly, the fae calmed, but kept her distance. "You.. you can't.." Nanuk looked back at him, a pained look in her eye.

"No, no... you didn't offend me. Just, shocked me is all. I'm not entirely used to.. this kinda thing." She muttered, shaking her head. "It isn't every day that.." Nanuk stopped talking, and looked over at him. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure Nanuk." Blaze replied, his gaze soft and searching her hazel once again. "If you don't feel the same way, I understand." Blaze added, hoping she felt the same for him.

Blaze tilted his head and nodded, giving a smile. "I just... I've wanted another mate since Nia died. I just couldn't get over her." Blaze explained, his brown gaze warm and soft.

Nanuk looked away, gazing off into the forest. "I want to leave. I want to go find my father." She knew it would hurt Blaze, but Nanuk's father was more important to her than a wolf who she wasn't sure if he really loved her or not. It was a rash remark, in her eyes, and it meant nothing. Real love took time.

"What was your fathers name? I may be able to help." Blaze offered, his brown gaze sparkled with seriousness and kindness. "I may know him. I have met so many rogues when I went to find Durnal." Blaze added.

"I'm not very sure. It could be Ares, but the only thing I ever called him was dad. He lives very, very far from here, or.. we did." She sighed quietly. "And I will find him."

Blaze's eyes widened with shock. "I know him! I stayed with him for about a month while travelling!" Blaze barked in happiness, wagging his tail.

"Huge grey wolf? Doozy of a temper? He is just about the same size as Durnal when he is doing normal every day things." Nanuk didn't let the small flicker of hope in her chest affect anything. "There are a lot of Ares out there, Blaze. You could of staid with any of them."

"He looks and sounds just like how you described him!" Blaze said, shocked. "I will travel with you. As much as the pack may need me, I'd also like to see your father again." Blaze added firmly.

(I was thinking they could go off together in secret, and Durnal goes looking for them or something?)
