Rosebelle stopped at least half way to Hanks,her eyes narrowed as she took in a big breath. "You know I'm not raising him alone,heavens no! I can barely take care of myself,never mind a foal!"

Rosebelle stared,her ears pricked toward the whisper as she smiled softly. Romeo stared at his father,his hoof pawing the ground as if ready to just bolt off with his mother's command.

Hanks lowered his neck to touch his nose to his son's muzzle. He didn't know if Romeo trusted him yet, since she saw the colt's muscles tense as he prepared to bolt if his mother told him to.

Romeo narrowed his eyes,then repeated his words. "Daddy.." He said in a low voice. "Daddy! DADDY!" He said now with joy as he hopped. "Yay! I got a daddy!" He cheered.

Rosebelle laughed aloud,nuzzling her foal,Romeo. "Of course you do!"

It was starting to get dark. and Hanks started to feel anxious. Normally heartless stallions would come around during the night and steal, or kill, a foal. "We should find somewhere safe," the stallion said.

Rosebelle looked around,seeing nothing but hills and grass,besides the little river that stopped behind her. "It's only a wide field,I don't think anyone would come." She said,walking more toward Romeo and nuzzling him to assure his safety.

Rosebelle nodded,lowering her head down as she nudged Romeo closer to her for the night. Romeo neighed,moving to his mothers side as he collapsed on his side,rolling around until he finally curls into a ball and falls asleep.

Hanks chuckled as he looked at his son, and then glanced at Rosebelle. he longed to tell her that he loved her, but he knew that she probably hated him. "I'm sorry," was all me could say before keeping watch, his ears pricked and eyes alert.

He smelled the birth of a foal,his nostrils opened wide as he took in a deep breath. He knew he was strong enough to face this mare,and whatever she comes with. He trotted up hills and finally stood above one,staring down at Hanks and the resting mare. He saw the foal's ears prick,knowing that's the one.

Hanks scented a stallion, and he spun around to see a horse staring at his son. Bellowing in rage, he raced foreward, his head lowered as he angled his head for the stallion's chest.

Steven stood tall,charging back at Hanks. He was taller,and having a muscular build. He was also a very smart stallion,his head was held high as he charged forward,planning on doing something rash.

Hanks paused and glared at the stallion. "What do you want?" he snarled. It was obvious that the stallion wanted to kill Romeo, but Hanks knew that if maybe he distracted the stallion long enough, Rosebelle and Romeo could possibly sneak off.
