Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
With a startled gasp, Juliana bolted upright, her eyes opening. They were wide and lucid, looking confused and rather frightened. Her chest heaved with quick breathing, her lips parted as she tried to calm herself. Leaning forward, she let her head fall down into her hands. Having fallen asleep hours ago, she realized that she hadn't moved. Her phone was still clutched in her fingers, a new text message unsent that was open on the screen. Her gaze transfered to the words, and she quickly read them through. Deleting the message, she slipped the phone onto her bedstand and took a glance at her clock, gasping at the time. Eight o'clock already!?
Leaping out of bed, she quickly stripped out of her clothing, standing in her bra and underwear as she ruffled through her drawers for suitable clothing. Grabbing a American Eagle sweatshirt and a pair of black, tight skinny jeans, she shimmied into both of them before grabbing her phone to text Derrik.
I overslept, looks like I'll be late for school again. Sorry.

Suddenly, his voice went off vibrating and he lifted it up to see a number he did not reconize. When he opened the message and noticed what it said, he chuckled. Juliana. That kiss suddenly popped his head and he tried not to get that feeling again. When they fell, the way he was caught in her sudden trance. The most romantic pop ups. He text her back a smile on his face. Well, got to let you know, toots. No school today. he said and sent it off. She must've got his number on facebook... why? His smile became sheepish thinking about it. Maybe she did like him. He looked down at his phone waiting for her to text back. Maybe he could invite her over so they could practice. There would be peace and quiet...

Tugging the sweatshirt down over her body, Juliana glanced at the mirror and scowled. Her long hair was falling limply over her shoulders, showing that she hadn't taken a shower that morning. She hated days like this, and decided that it wouldn't hurt to be later for school; if she looked alright. Raising her arms, she quickly slid the shirt off and turned, striding to the bathroom and turning on the faucet. When her phone buzzed in her hand, she looked down and blinked at the blinking message. A small smile touched her features, and she opened it without hesitation. Reading the words, she slumped back against the wall and quickly texted a reply.
That's the best news I've heard in ages, finally. I'm heading off to take a shower, and I'll text you back when I'm done. Sorry for the delay.
Juliana didn't think that it was awkward letting him know what she had to do, so pressed the send button with a slight frown on her face. Quickly stripping of her clothing once again, she slipped into the shower and let the warm water run over her body.

Derrik waited and suddenly, the phone vibrated in his hand. He looked down and opened it quickly to see what she had texted. He nodded. Okay talk to you then. Realizing he was hungry, he walked to the refrigerator and swung open the door. He found pancakes and sausages. Taking them out, he fried then, cooked them then his mind came to his mom. The memories came to the time he used to cook with her, and watch her with admiration. She seemed perfect for what she did. But though she was best at art, he still found her cooking best too. So did his dad. He cooked and soon enough, it was done and he slowly landed the pancake in the middle of the plate and the sausage at the side. He looked at his phone once more before eating.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
After taking a long shower, Juliana finally left the hot water and wrapped herself in a soft white towel. Drying herself off, she glanced to her phone and saw the red light flashing, signaling her that she had a new text message. She could only hope it was Derrik, though he may not have wanted to text her back. Realizing she had better get dressed before she texted who-ever it was back, she moved the device to the side before exiting the bathroom to get her clothing. Shuffling through her drawers, she jumped as she heard a solid knock on her door. "Juliana, are you awake!?"
Her mother's voice made the girl wince, and she reeled for an answer. Glancing back to her drawer, she looked to the door and grimaced.
"Yeah, I'm here. Dont come in; I'm getting dressed. And there's no school today- dont worry." She let out in a rush, before deciding to change her whole outfit alltogether. Pulling out a off the shoulder shirt, she also grabbed another tight pair of skinny jeans that sported tears over the legs, some high up on her thighs.
"I'm leaving for work, and I expect you to do something productive today, you understand?" Juliana gave a curt nod, before clearing her throat and mumbling that she would find something to do.
A few minutes passed, before Juliana changed into her new clothing. Making her way back to the mirror, she applied a thin line of black eyeliner and mascara, for the first time glancing out her window.
What she saw made her gasp in surprise, blinking once. Everything was coated in a thick layer of pure, white, gorgeous snow.
Did you see! It snowed last night! Isn't it beautiful!
She quickly texted Derrik, a smile on her face.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
After about a whole 10 or 11 minutes, Derrik was finished, plate clean except the small scrapes on the plate. He got up and picked up the white, clean plate and dumped it delicatly in the sink before turning and putting the breakfast he had made for his dad on the other side of the wooden table. He looked up at the staircase expecting for his dad to come down the stairs. He sighed. His dad had to go to work at... 10:00 anyway. And it was only 10:13 maybe. He got up though, and walked up stairs opening the door to his dads room one day it was his mother's room, and walked inside. Squinting, he saw something bed sheets russeling, Loud smacking of lips. His eyes grew bigger and his hand shook on the doorknob. "Dad?" he asked. Suddenly his dad appeared eyes even more wide. "Son.." he started. "Is that Derrik?" A feminine voice asked. Derrik couldn't believe what he was hearing; a female voice beside his dad. His dad with his shirt... off? Hands still shaking with rage, eyes watering with hot tears that hardly came to his face he murmured, "I can't believe this." Before his dad could say anything more he turned around and slammed the door loudly. He zoomed into his room and stuffed things in his bookbag then jogged downstairs and grabbed his phone seeing he'd received a text message and guessed it was the reply from Juliana. Touching the phone he seen the reply. He headed for the door and walked outside, walking as he texted her back.
Yeah mind meeting me at the National Park for a hike? That's active and can warm us up.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
A hike?
The teenager nearly snorted, but kept her surprise down to a minimum. She wouldn't have thought that Derrik, out of all people, would actually want to go to the park and go for a hike. The girl didn't mind it though, as she was ready to go outside and into the beautiful, snow covered wonderland. Taking once last glance in the mirror, she sat down on the edge of her bed and quickly pulled on a pair of winter boots, before striding to her closet and opening the door. Finding her black winter jacket, she shrugged it on and zippered it up, paired with a hat and mittens. She hated being cold, and decided it was best to bundle up. A few minutes later, she was skipping down the stars and exiting the house, before realizing she had to text Derrik back and let him know that she was coming. Sliding her mittens off of her hands, she pulled out her phone and quickly typed a reply.
Sounds great. Be there in about fifteen minutes.
Opening her car door, she slipped into the drivers seat and started the engine, letting it warm up with a smile on her face.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Derrik got into his car and into the driver's seat starting up his car. Even though he was wearing a huge jacket, he was still cold. His seat was cold and he shuddered quietly to himself. He sighed still angry with his father. He backed out of the driveway slowly and started out, the car roaring to life with a booming of thunder. Going down the street, he stopped at a stoplight to see that she had replied to him. Taking out his phone, he replied back quickly. Okay see you there. A few minutes later he arrived at the park, pulling in an empty space in the parking lot. Taking his keys, his roaring died down and he got out. Walking over to the bench noticing no Juliana. He sat down and rubbed his hands together to keep the freezing parts of his body warm.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
A few minutes passed, with Juliana carefully watching the roads. Her car didn't do well on the icy roads, and a few times she nearly lost control once or twice. When she finally reached the park, she was slighly shaken when she pulled into an empty parking space, almost hesitant to leave the car. Her fingers gripped the leather steering wheel, but she quickly pulled down the small mirror and brushed her hair behind her ear, applying a thin layer of chapstick to her lips, before flipping it closed and slowly opening her door. Freezing cold air greeted her, nipping at her exposed skin and making her shiver. Stepping out of the vehicle, her boots crunched down onto the packed snow and she slipped on her mittens, rubbing them together before using her foot to close the door.
Not bothering to lock the car, she only noticed one other car in the parking lot and she glanced into the drivers side, but didn't see the owner. As she breathed, puffs of steam rose into the air and she flipped her hood over her head, fur lining around her face. Looking around the parking lot, she noted a figure slumped down on one of the conveniently placed benches, and her face lit up into a smile.
Juliana quickly made her way over, but right before she reached the bench, she slipped on a patch of slick, smooth ice and nearly fell into Derrik's lap. Catching herself on the handle of the bench, she lowered herself near him and gave him a lopsided grin.
"Why did you wait out here? It's freezing!"

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
[font=Georgia]Derrik waited silently, as he was almost kind of warm, he found a picture of his mother, realizing that his outraged hands had grabbed it while he was leaving home. He looked at his phone and suddenly, he heard the crunch of boots hurrying over. He looked up to see Juliana, racing towards him. He put the photo away, smile reaching his face. He held up two hands. "Juliana... slow--" he cut off as she nearly slipped and fell into his lap. He held the curve of her body then let go as she got balance on the arm of the bench. He untensed and looked at his lap when she asked the question, not looking at her as she asked the question. "Well, I was just stressed needed to calm myself. So um, ready." He leaped up and streached out. Then walked at few inches looking back. "Come on, let's go." He said smile curving upon his face.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Juliana cocked an eyebrow, her dark eyes sparkling gently and reflecting the white wonderland around them. "Stressed..." She repeated the word once, before pursing her lips and gently looking away. "Dont worry, I know the feeling." She nodded when he mentioned that they should probably get on their way, and she pushed herself up off of the bench without further adue. Nearly slipping once again on the slick spot of ice directly infront of the bench, she glared at it and gestured downward. "Dont fall."

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Derrik stopped and turned at her comment a bigger grin pursuring up his face. He turned his head and watched her trying to keep balance on the bench still as she tried coming. He turned over keeping his balance, heart racing. He walked forward and came by her side grabbing her arm and pulling her away from the bench. " Do I have to hold you so you won't fall again Ms. Juliana Clutz?" he asked teasigly. He took her away. "Don't worry, take one step then another and another." He looked directly at the ice, sounding like a kind and gentle person, a kindergaten teacher basicaly. He looked up at her rasing his eyebrows. "Now do you got it?" he ended.
He liked to joke around sometimes, he got it from his dad... well had it like his dad. He didn't want to think of his father! He wanted to take a hike, and conversate with a friend... but from that kiss... more than a friend... maybe? He was all confused from the kiss but that was just a mistake. He decided to take it slow for the first time... that's how real realsionships worked.

"Oh yeah."
Juliana rolled her eyes, feeling Derrik join by her side and gently take her arm, as if to guide her around the ice patch. Soon, he gently took her around the ice, the teen feeling his warm breath on her cheek. A small smile played on her lips, before she nodded and shook her head. "I tend to be clumsy, Sorry." She gave him a lopsided grin, before straightening. The trails were snow covered, the large bows of pine trees drooping downwards and heavily laiden. The girl's boots crunched down onto the ground, her breath steaming in the air. Rubbing her mitten covered hands together, she wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt to keep warm. "It's so cold."

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Derrik saw her rub her hands together, trying to keep herself warm. He chuckled quietly and put his arms around her shoulder rubbing her roughly, just not too roughly. "Eh, keep walkin', keep talkin'. Walkin', keeps you warm. Talkin' keeps you distracted." he said and moved away, putting his hands deep in his pockets and walking in the pathway in front of him. He heard the sounds of usual animal life; birds, squirrels, chriping of grasshoppers. He looked around and spotted something rustling... brown. He looked at her, putting his finger to his mouth to shush her. Slowly he peered over the tree the brown moving creature came from and spotted a deer looking straight ahead of it, ears alert. He stopped and looked at it as it untensed and started walking. He smiled and gestured over Juliana.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
The teen had just parted her lips to speak, when Derrik leaned over and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. He was a bit taller than her, so it worked out pretty well. Still, she really hadn't been expecting it, though there kiss from the night before was still fresh in her mind. He rubbed his hand up and down on her arm, and she smiled at his attempt to keep her warm. She glanced up when he pulled away from her, realizing that she had liked the feeling of his arm wrapped around her shoulders. It had in fact helped keep her warm. Now he shoved his hands into his pockets, and Juliana looked down to where her booted feet were moving through the powdery snow.
When Derrik quietly shushed her, she glanced up to see a graceful creature moving across the path directly in front of them. The deer's large ears moved back and forth atop its skull, listening to the pair but also seemingly very curious. Letting out her breath, Juliana was aware that it steamed in the cold air and tried to be as still as possible.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Derrik walked little more and slowly... step-by-step. crack A twig snapped underneath his feet. The deer looked up, aleart postion on its body once again then right away, it wa soff in a blurr. Derrik watch it go and looked at Juliana. He drew in a sharp breath and kicked the twig. "Sorry... a little too facinated to find where I was going." he said embarssment from his poor little mistake covering over his tone, easy to find. They were soon at a sign saying, "the leaf trail" he nodded and started that way and there, was a bathroom. "Have to go?" He asked pointing towards the one with the girl sign.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Juliana had just been about to hold Derrik back, when a twig snapped loudly. The graceful creature was off in a second, bounding away and through the snow. It was out of sight within a few moments, and the young woman glanced over at Derrik, noting his embarrased expression. She bumped his shoulder with her fist, shrugging. "I'm suprised it wasn't me instead." They started down the left trail, Juliana's winter boots crunching down onto the snow. She fell a bit behind Derrik, and in her concentration bumped right into him. Nice going Juliana, that was smooth. She rolled her eyes, then frowned when he asked her if she needed to go. Shaking her head, she suddenly got an idea. Stooping down, she packed snow into her fists and shaped a snowball, before stepping back and throwing it at his back. It hit him dead center, and she broke into laughter.

Derrik turned and waited. "Do you?" he asked again. When she shook her head, and bumped into him. He gave a small chuckle and just stayed quiet. "Okay let's get the move on," he said finally. Heading towards the trail once again, he felt something cold hit his back. Whipping around he heard Juliana laughing. He turned his head to take the best glance he could and saw whiteness. He looked back at her, a smile creeping on his lips. "Oh you!" Picking up snow and rounding it into an uneven ball, he threw it at her and it hit her shoulder. He broke into laughter and went for the other once, getting ready to duck in case she decided to go for the other.

"No, no!" Juliana threw her hands up protectivley when she saw Derrik turn, bend down, and start to form a snowball of his own. "It wasn't me, I swear!" Laughing, she ducked as he chucked the snow at her, but it hit her shoulder, making her stagger backwards and fall into the thick trunk of one of the trees that grew along the trail. "Oh, its on!" Laughing, she bent down and scooped up yet another snowball, bigger than the last one. Raising it in her hands, she closed one eye and aimed it at Derrik. Juliana threw it at him, instinctivley ducking behind the tree and knowing another one was probably coming.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Derrik smiled and laughed with her when she came with a big snowball, and closed her eyes to aim, he started to as well. When she threw hers, it was coming faster than her first--bigger than her first. He gasped and ducked falling in the snow. Laughing harder he watched her duck behind a tree. He ran over to the side to get a good view of her. "Trees to cover all of you ya know, throwing the snowball at her and when it hit her in the arm. He knocked her over, not enough to hurt her. They both rolled around, around and around til they were by the bridge. "Nice spot to hide... by a hill." He laughed. She was on top of him he smiled at her. "Wanna keep on being kids, or do you wanna walk or...?" He faded.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Ha, it had hit home. Juliana wasn't expecting Derrik to suddenly pop up beside her, carrying a huge load of snow. She ducked instinctivley, but it hit her anyway, making her lose balance and fall over, into the snow. Before she knew it, Derrik was also beside her, and the two had started tumbling down the hill. Trees were suddenly scarce, the pair tangled together and continuing to roll for quite a few seconds, before they came to an abrupt stop near a swiftly flowing stream. Realizing that she was positioned directly on top of him, she gave him one of her famous, mischevious grins, before placing her gloved hand over his mouth, letting him know to stop talking. Looking up slightly, she had sworn that she had heard voices, and not far away. There they were again! Suddenly, two figures could be seen making their way towards the bridge, and Juliana rolled off of Derrik, grabbing his hand in hers and hauling him to saftey near the bride, hidden and out of sight. It wasn't that she minded others seeing them together, but she didn't want to get into trouble... what for, she wasn't sure. She winked at him slightly, listening to the pair grow closer. "Let's keep being kids." She said mischeviously, her breath steaming in the air.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Derrik was surprised by her sudden mischeivousness and he kinda... liked it. When she shushed him, he just smiled. Suddenly he heard footsteps getting closer. He grabbed for her hand as they got closer and got up. When she said those three words. He smiled putting one hand on her cheek and the other on her butt to drive her closer. When she was his closest he leaned and kissed his this time more passionate than last time. He started to feel on the slender body of hers and kept going on, heart racing as he started to kiss her, more better than last time. He removed his lips from her to just say a few words. "It's fun being kids." he laughed and just placed his lips on hers again.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Juliana glanced upward, her dark skinny jeans coated with a thin dusting of snow from their tumble. Her hair was free from its pony tail, the holder probably lost in their short snowball fight. It fell loosly down her shoulders, framing her face and highlighting her sparkling eyes and rosy cheeks. The voices soon passed by, and they seemed vaguley familiar to the teen. Either way, she wasn't sure what to make of it. Once they had passed, she turned her head to look at Derrik. The way he was staring at her made her head skip a beat, a throbbing sensation deep and gnawing in her gut. Before she could comment on it however, he placed a gloved hand on her cheek, the material cold against her skin. His other arm circled her waist, his touch on her behind making her slightly nervous despite herself.
When his warm lips touched hers, the world seemed to stop turning. Each second held meaning, as if it was harnessed by an extra amount of weight and stuck around longer than it was intended. She loved this feeling, goosebumps prickling up her covered arms and a shiver wracking through her body. When Derrik pulled away, she frowned. He spoke quietly, before his lips claimed hers once again. Slowly, she slid off her glove, raising a hand and resting it on his cheek. They were out of sight, hiding benieth the bridge and making out under it. Sure, that's what kids did everyday, didn't they?
Angling her head slightly, she smiled through it. His lips on hers were warm, his kiss passionate and holding more meaning than it had the last time. Pressing her slender body into his, she let her eyes drift close. Her fingers gently caressed his cheek, before she moved her other arm around his waist and let her tongue slip over his bottom lip.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
Derrik was suddenly a little surprised then. He couldn't help to do so. He thought back of his father, his mother. He was thinking about it before. Is this really love or is it... what am I doing? This is it! Stop thinking about your mother, you father Derrik! Stop! He couldn't help it though! This was the year his mother had died from a terrible sickness it just all weighed down on his shoulders. He though back the chick his father was with and he started to kiss more harder deeply, forcing himself to focus on what's here with him right now; Juliana. He adored the way she caressed his cheek and her soft lips on his. But what's to add up? He was a mess! He couldn't think straight! He moved away from her and put his hand on his head. He looked at Juliana, shaking his head. From the first time, he was hold back tears, fighting not to cry in front of someone. "I'm sorry. I just--" turning around, he walked away and back on the trail walking really fast pacing towards the lake. He sat in front of it on the bench and took out the picture he had of his mother and let the tears fall of his face. He yearned for his mother to be here and right then, he was probably gonna lose two things in his life that made him happy; his father and Juliana. He messed up twice, and he risked it all because of his mother.

Re: Nothing's stopping me now... (Reserved for Silver Shadows)
When Derrik pulled away from her, Juliana looked for what she had done wrong. Not understanding why he had broken the kiss, she started when he mumbled an apology. She had been about to ask him what was wrong when he pushed himself away from her, stumbling out of the small hiding place and started running away from her, hitting the trail and obviously not wanting to talk to her. Now more confused (and hurt) than ever, Juliana pushed herself out after him, and began to run. Her booted feet crunched down onto the packed snow, her hair whipping out behind her. Stuffing her gloves into her pockets so she wouldn't lose them, she desperatly looked left and right for him.
"Derrik! Where are you!!"
Spinning around, there were fresh tracks in both sides of the trail where it split. Following the single tracks however, she soon stumbled to where the path branched off near a large, slightly frozen over lake. Near it however, a familiar form could be seen.
