Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Today was a big day to families with someone in the militarily, they were sending troops home. Thats why on base people were crowed on the air strip, they set up cones were you weren't supposed to go past making everyone cram close together wanting for the planes to land, mothers and dad early looked on wanting to catch site of their children, siblings and friends watched holding hands smiles on their faces. Loved ones held their breaths with tears already in their eyes and faint smiles on their lips waiting.
One of them was a twenty two year old girl with auburn curls, everyone called them princess curls she just called them messy and a pain in her butt, with blue green eyes, she was around 5'4 with a small frame, in cut off shorts and a old band shirt with flats on her feet. She was also pacing a little spot and playing with a ring on her left hand chewing on her bottom lip to the point it was getting raw. It had been almost two years since she last saw Even an he was finely coming home! She was excited and terrified at the same time, what if he didn't love her anymore? Or he changed to much for them to work it out and sped the rest of their lives together like they planed on. Letting out a breath and pushing curls out of her face Aden looked down at the ring that she had been twisting around her finger, Even gave it too her a week before he got deployed and asked her to wait for him. Aden had told him she would through tears and to this day he was the only guy she loved.
Someone from in the crowd yelled that the plane was coming, making everyone talk at once and look to the sky, sure enough the large plan came into view. The next few minuets were a big blur to her as the plane landed and men and women with smiled on their faces started exiting from the plane eager to greet their families, loved ones and friends. Standing on tiptoes Aden looked around chewing on her lip for Even "Even? Even!" She called out but her voice was lost in the noise. Then she saw him walking off the plane with that smile of his "Even!" Rushing through the crowed she ran to him tears in her eyes.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Two years. Two years since he’d seen her beautiful face, heard her beautiful laugh, or felt the warmth of her body against his when she gave him hugs and the occasional kiss now and again. It’d been two years since he asked her to wait, and he’d been told she would wait, but doubt crept in the back of his mind. Two years was a long time to be gone, and it definitely left enough time for her to go searching for another man, or possibly have another man search and find her.
But then again, maybe she waited. Maybe she waited through thick and thin, especially that one lapse of hellish time when he couldn’t write to her for three months. He’d stored up three months’ worth of letters, but had never ended up sending any of them. Evan had decided it would be better to let her see he hadn’t forgotten about her in person, and let her read over the letters together. Maybe they could curl up on the couch in front of the fire and he could read them to her. But after two years at war, Evan wasn’t so sure he was that mushy-romantic sort of man anymore. If he learned anything, it was that war hardens you to the point you barely remember who you are anymore. But even if you don’t remember yourself, you remember your loved ones, and that’s the only thing that keeps you sane.
As soon as the plane landed and Evan was let off of the plane, he heard the familiar voice of the woman he loved so dearly. He turned his head to see her running up to him, smiling as he saw her perfect ringlets of hair (the ones she constantly complained about but he though were beautiful) bouncing around her perfect face as she ran towards him. In two long strides, Evan had managed to meet her halfway and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her up gently and twirling her in a circle before putting her down.
“God,” he murmured, “I didn’t think it was possible, but you’ve gotten even more beautiful since I last saw you.” Evan smiled fondly and brushed a loose strand of hair from her face, planting a gentle kiss on her lips. “I didn’t think it was possible….” Evan murmured again, staring into her eyes. “I missed you so much.”

Running to him tears in her eyes Aden smiled brightly, he met her halfway and the girl threw herself into his arms, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck as silent tears fell. She squealed wnhe he spun her around a couple times, and she managed to tucked her feet in not to hit anyone and laugh smiling brightly through the tears "I missed you so much" Feet back on the ground she leaned up on tiptoes to keep her arms locked around his neck and sniffled looking up at him. " I think your nuts because I haven't" Leaning into his touch a little when he brushed a curl back Adan closed her eyes for a moment savoring his touch, it had been so long since he touched her.
Opening her eyes she kissed him back smiling the tears still falling "I missed you more Evan" Looking into his eyes she smiled and sniffled wiping her eyes, moving her hands from around his neck to around his waist she hugged him tightly, laying her head against his chest. The fear that this was all just a dream and he would drift away came into mind. " I-I though you would never come home" She whispered softly listening to his heart beat for a moment all the other noise and cries of people meeting up with there loved ones forgotten at the moment. Sniffling Aden pulled back and looked up at him smiling. "Come on there are more people then just me that want to see you" Taking his hand she weaved through the crowds to where his family waited smiling looking at him, his mom was crying at this point like Aden was and she though even his dad had tears in his eyes.
"Evan! We missed you!" Rushing over Beth hugged her son as happy tears poured down her cheeks. Adan stepped out of the way still trying to stop her own tears and smiling watching. David walked out and clamped his son on the back " It's good to have you back son" Beth was still crying and fussing over him, talking about the little party they had all planed out for him.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan smiled at her and hugged her closely to him, closing his eyes and resting his chin atop her head. He chuckled when she claimed that she missed him more, but he didn’t reply in the playful banter that was available in his thoughts. All he wanted was her to stay in his arms. He was tempted to scoop her up and carry her bridal-style all the way home, despite the fact he knew his parents would also be waiting here at the airport. Evan’s seriousness returned when she whispered that she was afraid of him not returning.
It had been a quiet comment, and he’d nearly missed it in the commotion of the others calling out to their loved ones, babies crying, children squealing in a release of anticipation at the sight of their mothers and fathers, and all the other hubbub in general. “I would never leave you by yourself,” Evan replied in return, kissing her forehead tenderly before allowing her to drag him through the crowd to his parents. He smiled tenderly at his mother who was in tears, and he gave his dad a playfully sly look at the shimmer of tears that were undoubtedly in his eyes.
“Mum!” Evan said, wrapping his mother in a hug, but not like the hug he’d given Aden. His mother was definitely frailer than Aden. He didn’t want to hurt his Mum; after all, he’d just gotten back! “I missed you too, Mum,” Evan said, his heart swelling with the joy and pride of being a returned soldier and the wonderful happiness that was rapidly spreading throughout his entire body at the fact he got to see his family again. Two years was too long, he decided, and he felt bad for his war-buddy (or so they were called) Mason who had two little girls and a little boy on the way who was deployed for another year and a half. Evan had said he’d send Mason’s best regards to his wife, who wasn’t here, obviously, so he’d have to give her a call.
Evan beamed at his father and clamped his father’s shoulder in a return for the gesture. “You been keeping the women in order, huh? I owe you one,” Evan jested, removing his hand from his father’s shoulder and turned back to Aden, wrapping an arm around her waist, listening to his mother rant about a party they’d planned for him. It wasn’t big she claimed, but knowing his mother, Evan was rather skeptical. He hoped it was small; all he wanted to do was take Aden home and curl up in bed with her and get a good night’s sleep. That’s what he wanted more than anything, but he would comply to his mother’s desires only because he loved her dearly and he’d missed her very much.
“You didn’t have to Mum,” Evan said, just to be polite, “But that sounds great.” He smiled and hugged Aden comfortably closer to him, smiling down at her, “What do you think? Should we go home?” He was looked at Aden, but the question was more directed at the entire family.

Looking up at him Aden smiled softly her bottom lip a little wobbly as he kissed her forehead softly and held her for a little while longer before she sniffled pulling herself together and dragged him back to his parents. Wiping the tears away with one hand she held onto his hand tightly as they weaved through the crowds, she was not about to loose him now that she had just gotten him back.
Hugging her son Beth cried happily, leaned up and kissed him on the cheek smiling and wiping her own eyes. David chuckled smiling as Evan clapped him back on the shoulder "Yeah like anyone can keep your mother in order" He joked smiling proudly at his son. Beth ignored the comment and kept fussing over Evan asking questions and talking about the 'small' party she had planed for him. Aden was off to the side watching wiping her eyes again glad that she desisted not to ware a bunch of make up today.
Pushing some curled out of her face she beamed up at Evan slipping her arm around his waist, or well as far as it would go. "It's kinda small...." Aden shrugged looking up at him " You know your mom, she likes to go over board and well you coming home..." She trialed off grinning up at him. Beth huffed looking at the younger couple " Of course I did! My son came home thats a reason to celebrate!" She pointed out wiping her eyes and smiling. "Yeah lets go home" Sighing Aden leaned more into Evan as they walked through the crowds back to the car. Aden felt like she could fly at the moment Evan came home and still loved her and was in her arms, oh yeah she could fly at the moment.
Walking out to the crowded parking lot Aden glanced up at Evan every now and then making sure it was really him that and taking him in, he had a new scar on his cheek and one one his neck that she could barley see but that was because she was so short she couldn't see it well. She would ask him later about it
David pulled the keys out of his pocket carrying one of Evan's duffel bags and unlocked the green Explore opening the back and setting the bag in "Your mother wanted a bigger car, so when she went to different antique shops she could hold more" Beth rolled her eyes opening the passenger door "Your father likes it too" She put out and got it.
Aden just smiled shaking her held and slid into the backseat letting out a breath and pushing more curls out of her face ,she really didn't want to share Evan or even go to the party but Beth had been planing it out for weeks and was so excited about it Aden though she could live with sharing him for a couple hours before she pulled him away. Once Evan was in she curled into his side closing her eyes and relaxed into him. "God I missed you so much" She breathed out the words only to make a face and push curled out of her face.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan felt more apprehensive the more his mother spoke, “Mum, Mum! Can it wait? I think I could use a drink or two first,” Evan joked, kissing his Mum on the top of the head. He laughed at his father’s comment; how he’d missed his father’s wry sense of humor. He didn’t let go of Aden though. He had waited too long to see her again, and he felt like if he let her go it would all fade and he’d wake up, and it’d turn out only to be a dream.
That was the last thing he wanted. As they reached the new car, Evan raised an eyebrow and looked at his Mum a moment before his father started speaking. The story brought a smile to his face, “’Course,” he said, his voice momentarily gruff. “Thanks for gettin' my bags, Dad,” Evan said, opening the passenger’s seat for his mother and closing it behind her, then slipping into the back seat.
The moment he sat down, Aden didn’t even bother to give him time to put his seatbelt on, but he honestly didn’t care. He only wanted to have her by his side, and having her curled up beside him was the only thing they could really do right now, so he took it without complaint. He kissed her forehead and said she missed him so much.
“You know, I missed you too, love. It’s been to long,” Evan wrapped his arms around her as best as he could (seeing as they were in the car) and rested his head on top of hers. When she made a face and blew a curl out of her face he laughed, moving it behind her ear, “I think you have beautiful curls. I’ve missed them,” Evan said, smiling and planting another kiss on her forehead before dropping his voice to a low whisper:
“How about, after the party tonight, we go upstairs and curl up in bed and I can show you the three months’ worth of letters that I never had the chance to send you?” Evan asked, though he was more set on simply having her in his arms again. He could care less about the letters at this point. He was tired and sore all over, and he could use a couple of drinks. A nice, hot shower wouldn’t hurt him either—not that he was dirty. He’d had a shower before he got on the plain, but it’d been with cold water.
Letting out a deep, contented sigh, Evan looked out the window and rubbed Aden’s back in a comforting way as he watched the scenery pass until it got more and more familiar to him. He was home.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Curled into his side Aden closed her eyes and took a deep breath, taking his smell in, how she missed how he smelled and how he felt when she hugged him. How her softer body fit perfectly into his harder taller one. Snuggled more into his side she let out a breath as he held her. Opening her eyes she looked up at him with a face as he tucked the stupid curl behind her ear. "Funny thing is, everyone seemed to love them but me" Her tone was a teasing one but her hair annoyed her so much at time, it was hard to do anything with.
Listening to the whisper Aden smiled warmly looking up at him "That sounds great Evan" She whispered back leaned up and kissed him softly before curling back up into his side. "And how about I kick your butt too? For those three months with nothing" Again her tone was teasing but she meant it, it had scared her badly getting nothing for three long months, no letters no calls not text or even a video chat. It had been horrible for her and for his mom those months she didn't sleep much, and was still making up for all the sleep she missed that and she couldn't look at a cup of coffee the same way.
Slowly Aden's eyes slipped shut drowsy from the ride and Evan rubbing her bad, soon the young lady was asleep curled into him. So much for talking his ear off and telling him everything that had happen since he was gone, but then again there was time for that later on when everything settled down.
Pulling into the driveway David smiled looking back at the young couple "Were home son" He parked in the driveway and got out still smiling, Beth smiled big and got out "I cleaned up your room a little the other day. I did a complete clean over the week after you left. The smell from the old pizza boxes and such under your bed and in the closet was starting to take over the hallway" Smiling Beth walked to the door to unlock it and get everything ready for the party that started in less then a hour. David got his bags out of the bag and fallowed his wife.
Sucking in a breath Aden sat up looking around sleepily "Were here?" She mumbled out blinking and trying to shake off the sleep but the girl was never a quick waker even after a short nap. Pushing curls out of her face she looked over at Evan and smiled sleepily slipping out of the explore stretching then hugged him. "Mmm it wasn't a dream" Letting him go she took his hand "Ready?"

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan listened to her, and when she talked about kicking his butt, Evan couldn’t help but laugh. “Sure, whatever you’d like. As long as you leave me in peace,” Evan said humorously. “Not that I don’t want to have you back in my bed again. I’ve missed you so much.” Evan knew he probably sounded like a broken record, but he didn’t care. He was back with the only woman he’d ever love, and that’s all that mattered. When her breathing regulated and she didn’t speak anymore, Evan shifted slightly so he could look at her face. It wasn’t surprising to him that she’d fallen asleep. She’d looked pretty tired, but her excitement had masked most of it.
Kissing the top of her head gingerly, Evan let her rest in peace without disturbing her slumber. At least tonight they’d have each other to sleep with. Apparently she needed the sleep as badly as he did.

As soon as the car rolled to a stop, Evan rested his head against the headrest of his seat and let out a deep sigh. He was here. Home. It’d only taken forever (or so it seemed), but he was finally back at the place he truly belonged. He didn’t move just yet, fearing to wake up Aden, but he knew that she’d wake up on her own in a few minutes or so. Even if he’d been gone so long, Evan still knew her habits.
When his mother commented about cleaning his room, Evan moved and slipped out of the car, leaving the door open for Aden when she woke up. “Ma, I told you not to clean up my room. How am I going to be able to find anything now?” There was a smile on his face and a hint of a teasing manner in his tone, yet he was completely serious about his mother cleaning up his room. He knew it smelled, but it was the smell of his room—his ‘mark,’ or so you could say.
Evan stayed out a bit longer and drank in the scenery of the house he’d been gone from for what seemed like an eternity. He was afraid he’d die in action and never get to see this place again, never get to see the faces of the people he loved. And yet he was here. By some miracle of God, he was here. When Aden started mumbling and got out of the car, Evan smiled and chuckled.
“Hello, sleepyhead,” Evan muttered before placing a kiss on her tender lips. Oh, how he’d missed her. How very, very much he’d missed her. “Hmm,” Evan said, looking her over. “I think I’m not the only one who needs special treatment today.” Evan laughed slightly before picking Aden up, and carrying her bridal-style into the house, closing the car door with his foot. He didn’t want the part, necessarily, but as long as Aden was in his arms, he was content.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Beth looked over at Evan and shook her head "Your room reeked, it needed to be cleaned badly. I didn't touch any of your things just picked up the trash and got the old pizza boxes out of the there" She put in giving him a mother look before walking into the house with her husband. David just chuckled with a shake of his head and walked into the house carrying Evan's bags.
Still waking up Aden slipped out of the explore shoving curls out of her face and stuck her tongue out at him for the amused chuckle. Stretching with a soft groan she tried to shake the sleep off and smiled easily up at him kissing him back. "Huh? Nah Im fine!" Her words ended higher pitched in surprise to be off her feet. Wrapping her arms around hid neck she looked at him "Don't drop me" She squealed as he started walking caring her bridle style to the door. Evan walked through the front door and Aden looked at him "Are you gonna put me down now?" She asked still clinging to his neck.
Beth walked out tying a apron behind her back and laughed looking at them. "Well now, the party doesn't start for another hour so Evan that gives you time to take a shower or do whatever" She told them then walked back into the kitchen.
Aden watched her wall off then looked at Evan "So where too?" She asked smiling easily but still clinging to his neck, she really didn't want to end up on her butt, yeah Evan was strong and she didn't weight much but still.
(Gack this one too >.<)

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan rolled his eyes at his mother’s comment, unable to keep a smile off of his face at Aden’s reaction to his laughter. Sometimes Aden was simply the most adorable woman he knew—though most of the time she was the most beautiful. But she had her moments. Admittedly, he had his own moments, as well. He smiled when she squealed and commented in a reassuring manner, “Love, I’m not going to drop you. And even if I did, I’d catch you before you hurt yourself,” and he kissed her forehead tenderly.
As Evan looked around the house, he noted the few minor changes (though some were a bit more than ‘minor’) in the house before looking up at his mother. She looked a bit older and more frail than the time he’d last seen her; which was to be expected, he supposed. Something from the kitchen smelled heavenly, and his stomach growled. Shaking it off, Evan smiled as he felt Aden’s arms wrap tighter around his neck. For a decently small woman, she sure had a damn good grip.
“I’m not going to drop you!” Evan repeated playfully, laughing momentarily. “…Unless you want me to.” Evan loosened his grip on her so she fell, but only a couple of inches, before he caught her again, still having her cradled in his arms. “Told you I wouldn’t drop you.”
Evan turned his attention to his mother and chuckled. When she said something about showering, Evan grimaced. “I could use a shower and a shave.” Evan put Aden down on her feet. He felt a bit sluggish suddenly and didn’t feel like climbing up the stairs to go to his room and shower. Plus, he’d only just gotten back, and he felt that if he let his family out of his sight he’d wake up back on the battlefield. And that was the last thing he wanted at the moment.
But the thought of a nice, hot shower sounded extremely appealing. Nodding, Evan whispered to Aden, “You can join me, if you’d like.” He tickled her sides before walking to the base of the stairs and collecting his bags to take to his room. Before he left for the shower, he looked to his mother, “Ma, how many people did you invite? Exactly?”

Arms tight around Evan's neck Aden looked at him "Uh huh you say that now" She said but couldn't help smile when he kissed her forehead and walked into the house. He just looked around taking everything in holding her. Aden nibbled on her bottom lip still hanging onto him.
Looking over at Beth Aden smiled over at her chuckling as she talked, Evan being over seas had been hard on Beth but she was looking better to Aden now that Evan was back home safe and sound. Aden chuckled hearing and feeling his stomach growl and looked at him amused but not loosening her grip around his neck. He kept telling her he wasn't going to drop her but Aden knew Evan and that he used to love to mess with her and was well used to be a prankster.
"Uh huh, you say that know, I know you Evan" Her eyes widened a little at the last bit "Don't you-" It ended with a yelp when she felt herself falling for a second before he caught he looking rather smug and amused by this. Giving him a glare she looked at him "Your so asking for it" She shot back in a half playful tone. Looking back at Beth she smiled then nodded glancing back at Evan "Yeah, you don't look good with a beard" She teased grinning a him. Back on her feet she smiled.
Beth chuckled watching them with a smile and nodded "You look like some wild mountain man" She put in and watched him pick up his bags and head to the stairs. She turned to walk back into the kitchen but stopped at her son's question and shrugged. "Well it all depends on how many of your friends and of the town show up, I had Aden get on that facebook thing and invite all your friends and I told the town that you were coming home, so Im not sure" She said honestly and walked back into the kitchen.
Aden swallowed her laughter and looked at Evan still grinning. "Come on Army man, to the shower with you" Hands on his back she started pushing him up the stairs. "Only about half of your friends on facebook said they could make it, now a lot said maybe so we'll have too see. Everyone wants to see you, but I promise a couple hours into the party if you want too we'll hid out in your room.....until your mom forces us back out that is." She added as a after thought but still grinned. Finely at the top of the stairs she leaned up and kissed him on the cheek "It's just for tonight tomorrow we can do whatever you want" She promised walking into his room with him blowing curls out of her face.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan couldn’t help but laugh as she yelped. He’d missed her, of course, but he’d missed teasing her as well. It was something he would never stop enjoying. He’d never actually hurt her, and he knew that she knew that, no matter what she told him. A jovial grin crossed his lips as she told him he was ‘asking for it.’
“Ah, so my little lady’s going to show the soldier up?” Evan replied, good humor dripping from his words. He laughed again and gave her a quick hug before staring at his mother. “You know, whenever you say you don’t know it’s probably going to be quite a lot. And Facebook is filled with people, Ma. You better have made enough food for everybody and twice as much for me.” Evan winked at his mother before laughing at their comments on his beard.
“Hmm, maybe I like it!” Evan joked, going up the stairs when Aden pushed him. “All right, all right! Yeesh, I knew the female sergeants were tough, but I never knew that the ordinary housewives were worse!” Evan tossed his bags onto the bed when they got in there. “Gah, I don’t like people. I only like one.” Evan wrapped his arms around her waist and gave her a quick kiss. When he pulled back, he searched her eyes. They hadn’t lost the sparkle in them. They might’ve been a bit more dull than usual, but he knew that no amount of trouble would ever get rid of Aden’s spunk. And that’s one of the reasons why he was so attracted to her. That, and a menagerie of other things. It’d take him a lifetime to name them all.
Evan rummaged through one of his bags before pulling out thirty-one letters, held together by a shoelace. Evan chuckled as he looked at the shoelace, then turned to Aden and shrugged, “Couldn’t find anything better. My boot is probably missing this, though.” Evan smiled and undid the shoelace, motioning with one hand towards the letters.
“You can either come help clean me up, or you can read the letters. Either way, you’ll read them eventually, I know,” Evan winked and shrugged off his jacket, tossing it leisurely over the headboard (a bad habit he’d gotten into and never rid himself of—he constantly had a pile of jackets on his headboard). He kicked off his shoes and walked into the bathroom, turning the nozzle on the shower to turn the hot water on before walking back out and grabbing his smaller duffel bag filled with his ‘manly-man items.’
His razor was in there, along with shaving cream. He hadn’t shaved in a good two weeks, and despite his playful comment earlier, he hated beards himself. They were scratchy and annoying. He couldn’t wait to be rid of the monstrosity. He looked himself over in the mirror. He hadn’t had many mirrors to look into overseas, but now that he looked himself over he realized the tan he had gotten was darker than he’d thought. Not unpleasantly dark, surprisingly even and (if he did say so himself) quite good looking. It’d probably start to fade in a month or two until it reached his original skin-tone.
His beard was definitely unbecoming. “I see why you hate beards!” Evan called from the bathroom, taking off his shirt and tossing it to the side. He was vaguely aware of him already trashing up his room when he’d only just gotten home, but he didn’t really care. If he was going to clean, he’d clean later. Not right now. He wanted to get into the shower and clean up before he worried about anything else. Oh, and sleep. And food. And Aden. That’s all he needed at the moment, and he was perfectly content to settle for all of those things.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Grinning Aden looked up at him hands on her hips. " Oh you bet the little lady is gonna show up the soldier" She teased back grinning up at him, god she missed doing this with him, teasing and snapping comebacks at each other until they either started something or burst out laughing.
Beth huffed giving her son a look " Have I ever ran out of food for people? And I know how much my son eats thank you every much. There will be plenty of food" She told him shaking her head with a smile at him. Then walked back into the kitchen to get everything ready, Beth loved big parties and she loved cooking so it was all good for her, besides her son was home.
Aden rolled her eyes at him, about the beard and kept pushing him up the stairs Aden grinned at his comment " Oh you bet were worse" She teased back and walked into his room with him. She looked at his big bags then over at him and laughed leaning up and wrapping her arms around his neck and kissed him back. " Oh come on Evan, you used to love going to parties and such" She looked up at him smiling just happy to have him back alive and safe. Blueish green eyes looked up at him looking over his face memorizing his face again the details of his face.
He let her go and Aden watched him head tilted to the side a little watching him dig through a bag before pulling out some battered looking envelopes held together by what looked like a shoelace and Evan confirmed it for her. Taking them she smiled softly "It's fine Evan" Looking down at the letters she as silent for a moment just looking down at them, forcing back the sudden tears that wanted to spill over. Sucking in a soft breath she looked up at him smiling softly and chuckled.
Sitting down on the bed between the bags she looked at him watching as he already tossed his jacket over the headboard something he always did.
Looking back down at the letters she slipped out of her flats she set the letters on the nightstand and moved his duffel bags around a little grunting from how heavy they were but scooted them to one side of the bed so she could lay on the bed, on her stomach feet at the headboard letters in hand. He grabbed a small bag and walked back into the bathroom. Looking into the bathroom she laughed hearing him "Yeah it's not you babe" She called back before opening the first letter. Swallowing she listened to Evan move around in the bathroom and started reading it.
The tears came back and this time Aden didn't stop that as she read the letters slowly while Evan showered and cleaned up. She knew he was home and safe but reading them just reminded her that Evan could have died over seas and that she was had been alone for two years with out him, sure she hung out with their friends and went to work but it wasn't the same with out Evan and now he was home and she was getting all emotional maybe it was from the lack of sleep, all the coffee she had been drinking and the fact that it was still setting in that Evan wasn't going anywhere for a while.
Sniffling she kept reading the letters or trying too but everything was getting blurry from the tears, they slid down her cheeks and onto the pages as she cried, sniffling and wiping them away with a hand angrily but the tears didn't stop falling.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
“All right, I bet you will!” Evan said, laughing and throwing his hands up in surrender. He looked at his mom and chuckled, “Yeah, I know, Ma. You make some of the best food I’ve ever tasted.” Evan smiled warmly at her.
Evan allowed Aden to push him up the stairs, laughing at her comment. He couldn’t wait until they were officially considered married. He’d been pondering that every day for the last two years. When he got back: when would they get married? Evan had already made up his mind about wanting to marry her. Evan knew from after the first three dates she was perfect for him, and he her…or so he hoped. “Yeah. Beards are annoying!” Evan stripped himself of the rest of his clothes and got into the shower, washing up, letting out a heavy sigh.
The feeling of hot water (something he hadn’t had in a while) and the smell of soap was like heaven to him. He wasn’t usually considered a “clean” guy, but he realized now how much he liked his body to be clean, if nothing else. As soon as he’d cleaned himself up and washed his hair, he stepped out of the shower and dried off, wrapping the towel around his waist, applying shaving cream to his cheeks and chin, and above his upper lip before grabbing his razor.
It wasn’t until he’d finished getting rid of that nasty beard that he heard something coming from the other room. Evan furrowed his brows and poked his head out from around the bathroom’s door. Her face was slightly obscured form his position, but it was clear that she was crying. The sniffling was a dead giveaway. Frowning, Evan moved to the doorway.
“Aden, love?” Evan asked quietly, walking over to her and sitting on the bed beside her, pulling her gently up closer to him. He looked at the notes that she’d been reading, and Evan sighed thickly. It’d been hard for him not to see her for two years, but he’d never considered she’d be hurting like this. He had been a man, and everybody knew men had a tendency to hide their feelings. Aden wasn’t a man (thank God), but a woman. A very special woman.
And women were known for being emotional. Evan pulled Aden closer to him and kissed her forehead gently. “Didn’t mean to make you cry, sweetheart,” Evan commented quietly, wrapping his arms around her. “I’ve served my time. I promise I won’t leave you alone again.” Evan moved his hand and wiped away some of the tears on her cheek. “I need to get dressed. After that, we can go downstairs and get something to drink. Will that make you feel better?”
Evan wasn’t exactly experienced when it came to women; Aden had been the second girl he’d ever dated. He was lucky to find her at their young age. They had a promising future ahead of them. All he knew is that he was willing to risk everything for Aden and her happiness.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Aden gave up on trying to read the letters and tried to stop crying but the sobs didn't stop coming, tears fell down her cheeks, she kept wiping them away wishing she could just stop. But everything she had been keeping in front the time he left to know came dumping out of her.
Hearing Evan she sniffled quickly wiping her eyes " Im fine" Her voice cracked a little, sitting up a little she sniffled wiping her eyes again as Evan sat down beside her wrapped in a towel. She would have laughed if she hadn't been crying. Sniffling she shook her head as he pulled her more into his bare chest holing her.
"Im ok...really I am" She got the words out but another sob took over and she squeezed her eyes closed trying hard to stop, she hated crying in front of people, especially in front of Evan, it made her feel weak and not in control. Aden had to be in control of herself and things that she could, she didn't like it when she wasn't, things happened too the girl. Just like when she was little. Not even Evan really knew.
Sniffling she shook her head again as he tried to comfort her, she hadn't meant to fall apart in front of him like this. She did keep herself close to him thou "N-no...i-it's not y-you" She blubbered out leaning more into his chest eyes still squeezed shut willing herself to stop the tears but they kept escaping running down her cheeks. Listening to him she nodded " I-I know" Sniffling she hiccuped slowly coming to a stop on crying and let out a breath opening her eyes looking up at him wiping her eyes again.
She laughed lightly hearing him and nodded rubbing her palm against her left eye. "Right, a drink sounds good" Getting to her feet she let out a breath and pushed hair out of her eyes looking at him smiling weakly at the worried look in his face. " Im ok Evan really, Im fine" She leaned over and gave him a kiss before hiccuping "you get dressed, Im going to see how big of a mess I am" She padded into the living room and looked at herself in the mirror. Well it wasn't too bad, her eyes were only a little red. Shaking her head at herself she wiped under her eyes and smiled a little at herself. Her hair was driving her mad, gathering it up she put it into a messy bun, stray curls fell into her face and around it but she didn't mind that too much.
Stretching she looked down at herself, she was in cut offs and a old 'Three days Grace' shirt, she had gotten at one of the concerts Evan and her went too. Whatever she wasn't going to change. Walking back out she looked over at him and smiled more, he was just in jeans but he looked good in them and with his face clean shaven. Sitting back down on the bed she watched him feeling better now that she cried even if it was just for a little bit.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan frowned gently, allowing her to let out the tears she needed to. He felt her tears on his bare chest, but he didn’t care. He rubbed her back gently, resting her chin on top of her head. He hadn’t seen her cry very often—in fact, he couldn’t really remember the last time he’d seen her cry. He let out a sigh and chuckled, “Yeah, drinks work miracles, don’t they?” Evan smiled, returning the kiss gently before getting up.
“I should probably get dressed, unless I want to wear my birthday suit to the party,” Evan smiled and watched her go. He let out a thick sigh. He gathered up the letters and put them on his dresser, rummaging through his closet before pulling on his favorite pair of blue jeans and a well-fitting (but not tight) shirt that was simply grey. He didn’t usually dress up for anything. No matter the occasion. Except funerals and weddings.
When he saw her again, Evan smiled and pulled her close to him in a gentle manner, planting a gentle yet passionate kiss on her lips before hugging her closer. “Damn it, I’ve missed you so much,” Evan said quietly, picking her up suddenly and tossing her lightly over his shoulder. “Now try not to kick my face, all right, sweetheart?” Evan chuckled and made his way down the stairs, tossing her down on the couch and tickling her sides.
Evan kissed her jaw before walking towards the kitchen and staring at his mother. “Ma, what’s cookin’? It smells great.” Evan walked over to the counter and picked up a snack from one of the platters—even though he knew his mother would probably shoo him out of the kitchen with a wash rag—and popped it into his mouth. “Ah, yeah. Tastes as good as it smells.”
Evan moved to another platter and picked up another snack before popping it into his mouth, “What we got to drink? And where’d dad go? Did you kick him out of the kitchen?” Evan chuckled before opening the fridge and grabbing a beer. “Hey, Aden! What’d you like to drink?”

Smiling a little more Aden looked over at him and nodded "Yeah that would be nice, your mom would kill you if you went down there naked" Making a face at herself in the mirror before she walked out she looked over at Evan smiling faintly to herself. He looked good comfortable in his own skin, and he had a great tan going on.
Hugging him Aden smiled and leaned up into the kiss before she hugged him tighter head against his chest. " I missed you too Evan, nothing felt right with out you" She mumbled into his chest eyes closed savoring his touch. With a yelp Aden's eyes opened wide "Evan!" She squealed out thrown over his shoulder the world upside down. "Ha! If your lucky!" She shot back and for good measure kicked her feet out a little but she made sure not to hit him, it would be bad if she gave him a black eye on his first day home. Aden yelped in surprise when he tossed her onto the couch but before she could do anything he was there tickling her sides getting her to shriek and laugh.
With a kiss on the jaw he strolled out of the room. Sitting up she glared at his back before getting to her feet and fallowing after him quietly.
Beth was moving around the kitchen getting everything out and ready, platters of finger food were on the counter and table, fruit, veggie trays some meat trays and some other little things she made, looking over at him she chuckled "Well I've got two huge pork shoulders cooking in the overs and some spicy chicken in the crock pot cooking" She said said and looked at him "If you get in my way..." She warned going around getting things ready. Stirring something she glanced over at him "Pop, water, tea and beer same as always, your father is outside setting up tables and chairs"
Sneaking into the kitchen quietly Aden grinned and jumped onto Evans back wrapping her arms around his neck, squealing as she tried to stay on " I'll take a Dr Pepper" She said still trying to stay on his back smiling again. Beth just shook her head at them and kept moving around the kitchen until the doorbell rang. "Evan go get that" She ordered taking one of the pork shoulders out of the over to see if it was done. Aden laughed "Mush!" She laughed out still hanging on to his back.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan laughed at her comments. He’d missed her sometimes dry sense of humor, though to him being with her was never dry, dull, or anything of the sort. No, she was an amazing, beautiful, funny woman and he’d rather have her than anybody else in the world—excluding his parents. After all, it was his mother who’d birthed and raised him, right? Evan grabbed the beer opener and was about to open the beer bottle when he felt something clamber onto his back. He stumbled forward momentarily, then laughed when he heard Aden’s voice.
“Ah, so this is payback, huh?” Evan moved his hands back and moved her legs forward so he could give her something like a piggyback ride. “So, now dad’s gotta do manual labor? Geez, housewives are worse than women sergeants! This is insanity!” Evan grabbed a Dr. Pepper out of the fridge and handed it up to Aden.
“You better not spill that on me, missy,” Evan warned, head moving towards the door when the doorbell rang. Staring at his mother, he exclaimed, “Ma’am, yes, ma’am!” Then chuckled and moved Aden on his back slightly so he could go and get the door open without dropping her. He stalked into the main entrance and sighed. “I just got a shower and didn’t even get to open my beer, yet company is here already? So much for a relaxing first evening home.” Evan rolled his eyes and picked up the key and put it into the lock in the door, twisting the doorknob open.
Outside was a group of four or five of his college buddies with their girlfriends or wives, and Evan smiled, “Hey guys, come on in. Ma’s in the kitchen cooking, so I wouldn’t go trying to smuggle food just yet.” Evan chuckled and waited until the last of the women were inside before warning Aden, “I’m going to put ya down now and go get my beer.” Evan lowered Aden to the floor gently before waving to his buds and getting slaps on the shoulders and hugging the beautiful girlfriends and women of his friends, though he silently compared them to Aden. None of them were as good as her. At all. Nowhere close.
Evan went back into the kitchen and stared at his mother, “Yeah, the miracles Facebook works. I haven’t seen my college buds in forever.” Evan opened his beer and took a sip before walking back outside, one arm wrapping around Aden’s waist. “Good to see you guys again. And I’m sure you’ve at least heard of Aden,” Evan smiled, “Almost as robust as Ma, but you know… Nobody can hold a candle to that woman.”

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Laughing Aden squealed when Evan stumbled forward before catching himself and grabbed hold of her thighs moving her legs up so she was on his back better. "Nah, this isn't payback, this is just because you love you" She grinned leaning over and kissing him on the cheek before loosening her arms around his neck, now that she was on his back better she didn't feel like she had to cling to him. Rolling her eyes Aden took the pop "Thanks babe"
"And waist Dr. Pepper on you? I don't love you that much Evan" She teased opening the can and taking a sip as Evan walked to the front door, one arm still around his neck. "Don't drop me" She smiled getting a piggyback ride to the door. Turning her head she looked at him "Awe come on babe, everyone just wants to see you. We have weeks to be lazy" She kissed him on the cheek then took a sip of her pop before smiling when he opened the door.
"Hey guys" She smiled waving slightly at them, perfectly happy on Evan's back as his friends walked in with their wives or girlfriends. Sighing Aden nodded "Fiiiiiine" She dragged the words out even as her feet touched the ground. watchhing Evan with his friends Aden smiled drinking her pop. Padding back into the kitchen she smiled at Beth moving a few things around helping her out a little, glancing over at Evan holding a tray she took out of the frig and set it on the table rolling her eyes at him. "See? You'll have fun today"
Smiling she walked out with him and gave a small wave to the guys that were now looking at her as everyone stood out on the deck. "Hi again, yeah Im the one that hacked Evan's facebook and told you guys about today." She smiled and laughed giving Evan a playful glare "And you wouldn't want it any other way" She grinned and drank her pop. David walked over nodding at the comment Evan made "Thats the true" He walked in side to help and answer the door, after he got the tables and such set up outside.
Soon Beth had gotten a few of the guys and Evan into putting food trays out onto one table along with the coolers filled with drinks. Telling them were to put everything. Aden was sitting in a lawn chair feet against the little outside coffee table talking to the other girls smiling and laughing, every now and then taking a sip of Evan's beer that he left for her to watch.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan smiled and laughed as she said she “didn’t love him that much” to spill her Dr. Pepper on him. Of course, Evan was very aware of the fact that Aden adored her Dr. Pepper. Just like Evan adored his Landshark beer. Best beer around, he and his father had agreed. Evan chuckled when she whined as he put her back down on the floor, and he tickled her gently, before stepping back and taking a sip of his beer. His mother was being unusually quiet in the kitchen, but her silence was welcomed readily. When Aden said that he’d have fun, Evan chortled quietly.
“Ah, yeah, sure. You know I’m not a fan of big parties,” Evan said, ushering his friends into the house. “Nice to see you guys,” he said, walking out back onto the porch. Shortly after, however, his mother and father to help set up a few more things called him back into the kitchen. He was also promoted to doorman. He’d already ushered in around 10 more people, and he was getting tired. Aden had his beer, and he was having a hankering to go take it (and her) up to his room and relax on his bed.
Evan had already been back and forth, and he was happy to see that Aden looked like she was having fun—but not very pleased with the fact that Aden had obviously been drinking his beer. Evan strode over to her and took his beer gently from her and put it on the table, picking her up and tossing her over his shoulder again—he’d done this a lot. It was like a habit for him. He took her into the kitchen and placed her in front of the fridge. “Get your own beer, love,” Evan teased, planting a gentle kiss on her lips, before walking back outside and taking up his beer. It was a little under halfway full right now. It could be drained in a few more gulps.
Evan was busied immediately by walking around and talking to friends and letting some more people inside. After there were enough people that he was easily lost in the mix and tangle of bodies, Evan took Aden’s hand and leaned in close to her ear, “I think it’s safe to get away from the crowd now.” Evan put his empty beer bottle into the recycling bin (his Ma always got on his case for not recycling) and sneaking back inside. Wrapping his arms around Aden’s waist at the base of the stairs, Evan smiled.
“Mm, quiet,” He murmured, planting a gentle kiss on her lips and pulling back, looking into her eyes. He pulled her closer to him, her petite figure fitting perfectly against his larger, more muscular one. He’d missed this feeling so much… he had been afraid that he’d never be able to feel it again. Yet here he was now. And here she was. Life was good… it couldn’t get much better than this.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Feet up on the deck table Aden was laughing and talking with friends saying hi to the people that were passing her by or that would stop by next to her. She was smiling and feeling better now that Evan was home, she just felt better, the worry that had been eating at her was gone and she well felt like she could breath again now that he was home. She had gotten a plate of munchies and was happily eating them talking and taking sips of Evan's beer every now and then.
Evan was running around talking to people and getting the door, but people wanted too see him, so Aden just staid out of the way letting everyone hug and talk to him, they didn't want to see her, they came for him. Smiling she looked over when he walked up smiling more" Hey babe" She went to grab something off her plate his beer in hand, he just plucked the beer from her hand set it on the table and picked her up getting a surprised squeal from her. You would think she'd be used to getting tossed over Evan's shoulder, it seemed to be a habit for him sometimes it annoyed her other times she didn't fight it. Fighting it got her no where but a smack on the butt half the time.
Laughing she looked at the world upside down as Evan walked into the kitchen and set her in front of the frig telling her to get her own beer then gave her a gentle kiss. She kissed him back and grinned watching him. "Sharing is caring!" She called out to him opening the frig and grabbing a Dr. Pepper, Aden wasn't a big drinker and most the time would just sip from Evan's it sometimes would annoyed him but it was a whatever thing, she didn't drink much and couldn't hold it either so she just stuck with sipping from Evan's. Popping the top she walked back out claiming her seat again and going back to talking and eating happily. The crowd of people seemed to eat Evan, Aden spotted the back of his head or catch his voice sometimes as she talked to friends.
Looking up Aden smiled up at Evan when he took her hand and lowered his head close to her ear. Nodding she let him pull her to her feet and fallowed him through the crowd to the bottom of the stairs.
Looking up at him Aden smiled and rolled her eyes at him. Leaning up into the kiss she smiled more wrapping her arms around his waist melting into his body, her head resting against his chest listening to his heart beat. Her softer smaller frame fitted perfectly into his larger harder body and honestly Aden wouldn't have it any other way. " Love you Evan" She murmured against his chest, eyes closed. Falling asleep in his arms sounded really good at the moment, leaving the party and just cuddling up to him in bed and falling asleep, the one thing she needed almost as much as she needed Evan at the moment was sleep.

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan smiled and took Aden’s hand, leading her up the stairs. He enjoyed the smell of the house: the smell of his one and only home. But it amused him to wonder if he’d ever move out of this house… He’d proposed to Aden, but he didn’t like it anymore. He wanted to make it officially official. An Indonesian soldier that’d been qualified as an American citizen had given him a large ring that was his late wife’s, who died in childbirth. The man, Luis, had even said: “It holds too many memories for me. Wife for four years, no children until the first, and I lost her then. I don’t need that memory. You take it and make memories of your own.”
Evan had that big, purple-jeweled ring in his bag, and he was planning on giving it to Aden as an official engagement ring. He loved this girl with all his heart and didn’t want to lose her. Not ever. He knew it was selfish to think this, but he never wanted another man to touch her in a way undesirable to her; he never wanted another man to know how it felt to love her. Evan hated himself for being so selfish, but it added some comfort when he knew that he loved her enough to have those thoughts. They were better than having thoughts of leaving her, right? When they got up stairs, Evan smiled and gently pushed her onto the bed, leaning over her and planting a passionate kiss on her lips, then pulling himself upright.
“I have something for you,” Evan commented slyly, winking at her and moving off to his bag. He pulled something out that was wrapped in a large box covered with brown lunch-bag paper, tied off with a coarse, thin brown string. He walked over to her and slipped the old ring off, excited to give her the new one. He placed the old one aside and put the big box down. “I just wanted to tell you something first,” Evan said in a low voice, searching her eyes. All he found was love… a tad bit of concern, maybe, that he’d taken off the ring and said he had to ‘tell her something,’ but he wanted it that way. He hoped she’d be shocked at the gift. He wanted her to be astounded and marry him… and he wanted her.
Taking her hands in his, Evan smiled lightly, “You know, I’ve missed you a lot in the last few years. And yes, I proposed. But that was a long time ago…” Evan paused, letting go of her hands and picking up the box, gently unwrapping it and taking out another, smaller, white-velvet box and opened it up to show the magnificent purple ring. “So I want to ask you again. I want to make this the official engagement.”
Evan shrugged gently and got down on one knee, holding up the velvet box. “So, Aden. Will you marry me?”

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Walking up the stars with Evan Aden let out a breath and blew stray curls out of her face as he lead them into his room. She though he was up to something by the look in his eyes but she wasn't sure what it was, which kinda worried the girl. Evan loved to surprise her, and well do some pretty crazy things. Walking into his room she smiled up at him nibbling on her bottom lip, squealing softly she laughed when he gently pushed her down onto the bed, leaning up on her elbows she smiled brightly up at him, leaning up into the kiss her hands moved up to his shoulders.
Sighing softly when he pulled back Aden looked at him licking her lips and sitting up more watching him. "Oh yeah? Whats that?" She asked now sitting up one of his pillows in her lap. Nibbling on her bottom lip she watched him move back over to his bag, it was hard to tell what it was besides a large box wrapped it brown butcher paper. Tilting her head to the side she looked at him frowning ever so slightly when he slipped her ring off her finger and set it aside "Whats that Evan?" She asked softly holding her breath, looking him in the eyes, she loved this man so much it hurt sometimes, she couldn't imagine life with out Evan her rock, the one person that kept her sane. But a little concern kept into her eyes as he looked at her, if he told her he didn't love her anymore Aden would die.
Scooting to the edge of the bed Aden looked down at their hands then back up at his face, her breath still caught in her throat as he told her he had missed her, nodding slightly she looked at him finely letting out a breath looking down at him. Aden's eyes widened seeing the white velvet box but it was the gorgeous ring inside that make her gasp putting her hands over her mouth tears filling her eyes. Sure he had proposed already to her but they had still been kids then, they both grew up a lot since the last time.
Tears burned her eyes as she watched him get down on one knee and asked if she would marry him. " Yes! Yes I'll marry you!" She cried out flinging herself into him, knocking him off balance so they both tumbled onto the floor, but the girl didn't care., just wrapped her arms tight around his neck and kissed him crying. Pulling back she looked at him smiling brightly through the tears. " I love you Evan, and I would love to become 'Mis Evan'

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Evan saw the concerned look in her eyes. He was inwardly chuckling. He loved her gullibility. She was adorable when she was confused, he thought. And before he had even had the chance to put the ring on her finger, she’d accepted, and leapt onto him, pushing them both towards the floor. He let out a short laugh, stopping and holding her closely, putting the velvet box down for a moment. He’d give her the ring later. All he wanted to do now was hug her. “Mmm, I love you.”
Evan chuckled when she said she’d love to become ‘Mrs. Evan.’ He knew she was being goofy. He’d loved the look on her face when he seriously proposed, though. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closely to him, kissing the top of her head in a loving manner. His arms encircled her waist and he pulled her chest against his. “You know, it’d technically be Mrs. Ryans. Evan Ryans. Aden Ryans. Ooh, that has a lovely ring to it, don’t you think?”
Evan put a finger underneath her chin and brought it up so he could look in her the face, and he grinned broadly. “Hm, wonder what my mum’d say if she came up here right now?” Evan laughed at the mental picture of his mother freaking out that the two of them were on the floor together. Evan pressed his lips against hers ever so gently, only removing them about an inch apart as he spoke again, “You’re mine now, love. We can spend the rest of our lives together. Raise a family…”
Evan covered her lips with his again, moving slightly so he rested on top of her, though his arms were out, supporting him so his weight didn’t crush her petite figure. He’d been working out for the last few years, and his bulk would probably squish her if he was to just lay on top of her. So, he made sure he wasn’t crushing her, as one of his hands moved up to her cheek, stroking it softly as he continued to kiss her. God, he’d missed this woman so much…

Re: Soldier coming Home (Mature)
Practically sitting in his lap arms wrapping around his neck tears still falling Aden smiled at him snuggling into his chest, head laying against his shoulder. Sniffling she freed his neck with one hand and wiped her eyes before sighing happily and snuggling more into him. Laughing lightly she rolled her eyes at him "Fine Mrs. Ryans....Aden Ryans....Hmmm I like it, rolls off the tongue" She teased gently still smiling.
He put a finger under her chin making her look up at him, still smiling she did only to laugh at the grin on his face "Well that can't be a good look" She teased. At his comment Aden laughed smacking him in the arm playfully "Evan! Your horrible!" She scolded laughing at the though of his mom coming up and freaking out on them. The girls laughfter died down when he pressed his lips gently onto hers, his lips were only a inch away, Aden could feel his hot breath washing over her own. Smiling Aden wrapped her arms around his neck again "That sounds wonderful Evan" She breathed out the words. This was the man that she loved, he was stubborn as hell sometimes even more then herself at times, loved to toss her over his shoulder all the time, teased her relentlessly, made her sit through scary or just weird movies but Aden wouldn't have it any other way. She loved him everything little thing about him.
They ended up laying on the floor Evan hovering over her, so that she could feel his weight on her but he wasn't crushing her, not that she would have minded. Arms wrapped around his neck she leaned up into the kisses. One hand slipped into his hair getting tangle there while they kissed, she leaned more into his touch eyes closed just savoring the moment, Evan was back, her solider was home in her arms. It was almost too good to be true but if this all was a dream she wasn't going to wake up from it.
