He drank slowly at the pool, imagining it sizzling down his throat. He almost pushed his limit, trying to run straight through the desert at the fasted way he could, at least he broke his record of 4 and a half days. He saw the water draining, knowing that he had drinked a lot. He had meet a lot of mares, and stallions. He usually avoided them, until he had a chance to pass on his genes.

He left as quick as he could, but he doubted the mare could survive long enough to take care of the foal, even birth it. She seemed dazed and confused, so he left her. Despite the road block, he had made it there in time. His powerful legs became slender, but packed with powerful muscle. He splashed his muzzle on his neck, getting the sweat off. He then reared and kicked his forelegs in the air, causing it to be heard from miles away.

He was looking for a mare, maybe more to pass on his genes. Hopefully the one that came would be special. He wouldn't hang here long, he would go as soon as the foal was ready, He would challenge for a land, or start a herd before he got a land. Ether way, he was going to challenge a land, hopefully with a few mares to go along with him.

Whilst travelling towards yet another water hole, I encountered another horse. This was extremely rare, and I think it had only happened by accident once. Immediately, I became defensive and pin my ears, watching the stud closely. Nerves vibrating through my body. I side step and walk as far from him as possible. Dipping my maw to the water and gulping the water quickly. My eyes never left him. My past made me very cautious of any horses. Familiar or not. The only ones I had run into so far, usually tried to kill me.

If my past wasn't rough enough, at this time, I was in heat. So most likely, they would try to force me and then attempt murder. I wasn't born yesterday, and I obviously trusted no one. The one person I trusted in life didn't stand up for me when I was falsely accused of a crime. Then kicked from the herd. Ever since, there has been a reward for my hide. Many of them stallions attempting to murder me, but even some of my close friends.

He bends his ears as he hears the mare walk by him, then walk away. He brought his head up, his mane blowing in the wind. "Seems like I'm not the only one here." He said, looking at the mare.

I shoot him a death glare and lift my muzzle from the water. Dripping slightly. "I'm here for the water, don't even try" I snarl the words, my ears flicking back instinctually as I lower myself into another long drink.

He looks at her again, shooting her a cold look. "What did you think I was going to do? Theres many possibility I could have done." He said, standing his ground. "You shouldn't act like that, Around here, word gets around." He said, knowing that something was up with the mare, Not knowing if he wanted to get evolved in her troubles.

"Look here buddy, all I'm saying is not to try to kill me. I have come this far without dying, and I could easily keep my hide for a few more years" I snort and toss my mane. Watching him with ice blue eyes as he stood his ground.

He raised his eyebrow, and stepped closer. "So your wanted then? If you are then why did you come here? There are lots of horses here, and whoever is following you might be one of them." He said, giving her a warning. "You should only come here if you want to get forced or get a mate. If your passing through, then you'll probably meet a forcer now and then, since most studs are these days." He gave her a wink, then turned around to drink.

I snorted roughly at him when he winked at me. "You don't think I know that? I have been attacked, forced, beaten, accused wrongfully, and much worse. Don't think I need the 'you don't know this world' speech" I counter and watch him closely. "Wait, so you aren't here to kill me?" I question, now curious. I knew I should be getting on with my walk, to find somewhere to stay for the night. But this shouldn't take long.

He looked at her, and rolled his eyes. "You had a certain aura around you, that just confirmed my theory." He said shaking his head to get off the flies. "No, I'm not. I just got back from the desert, and you came. If you are on the run from them, I would suggest keep going, but the deeper you go the more horses, and more forcers. Just advice though." He said and turned around and started walking.

I rolled my eyes at his words "I have walked this desert since I was just a filly. I know what you're talking about" I say. Then he starts to leave. "Wait!" I call, trotting up to him and in front of him. "Where are you from? How do you not know about the reward on my hide?" I ask.

He stops, then sees the mare trot up to him. "I don't like to tell, and I don't know because I'm not from around here, I come from another desert over." He responded.

I look at him curiously "The next desert over? I didn't think there was another desert. Do any of them know about me?" I ask, not caring that I sounded like an annoying young filly.

"I've heard a rumor that a band of horses passed by looking for a horse, but it didn't matter much to me." He said.

"But that doesn't mean it was me necessarily" I say before shying away, realizing how stupid I was appearing. "Sorry sir, you can continue on your way" I murmur before returning to the water to drink some more.

"Oh no, its fine." He said, then started walking. He stopped as he flatted his ears, smelling something. It smelled female, and hungry. He realized the scent just as it was about to pounce. "Look out!" He yelled as he quickly galloped towards the mare, just as the cougar was running towards her. He caught it in mid air and reared, forelegs striking it in the chest. It backed up and growled circling the horses. He flattened his ears and lunged at the animal, scaring it. It ran away quickly, then He turned around the the mare. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Oh, I forgot to mention, My name is Ice." He said, catching his breath.

I had heard her coming, and began to turn around and catch it out of the air. But the stallion was there and had already done so. I back slight behind him as he frightens it away. He told me his name. A great honor of which I was rarely granted. I perk my ears forward "Outcast" I said. Slightly embarressed at my name.
