[ Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that! And thanks… I’m pretty sure that everyone’s missed you! So, once again, welcome back!!  ]

Fate felt him cradling her underneath his neck, but she didn’t dare move, nor make a sound. Her challenge to find a suitable mate was a fight…A fight that she had easily won for the last few years… And then Thrain came along: the first dragon to meet her skills in battle and in flight. He’d rightly deserved her, and she knew it, and she knew that Thrain knew it, as well. And yet, with her challenge of flight and battle, her she was. She would fly again someday, right? Peeking her head out from underneath her wing, she flinched when she saw Glory coming down at a raging speed.

“Thrain! Don’t do it!” Fate said desperately. “I…I don’t want you getting hurt! Please don’t do this…” Fate shook her head, a tear rolling slowly down her scaly cheek. “I can’t let you hurt yourself. Just leave me here and go! Your genes being passed down the line is much more important than mine own.” Fate shook her head. I wanted a family…a mate who could care for them, and a mate I could serve willingly… But now look. He’ll probably leave like I’ve asked him to and he’ll find another, more adept female to breed with and lay his hatchlings. He’ll never return to me after this, will he?

Shaking her head, Fate whimpered and stuck her head back underneath her good wing. She couldn’t bear to watch this, if Thrain decided to fight Glory. What if he got hurt? Or worse, even killed? Glory didn’t look like the kind of dragoness to give up easily, despite any injury that may be inflicted upon herself. Sighing, Fate let her mind wander. She was such a terrible mate and dragoness! She was a disgrace to her family… and to dragonkind.

(ahhhhhh.....i dont know about everyone.. lol i have a few enemies on here!)

Thrain lifted himself away from his mate, shoving himself backwards with powerful legs. His claws dug deep into the damp sand creating tiny rivulets and gullies that filled with water when the small waves reached up the bank. His massive tail whipped back and forth, cutting through low brush and thin tree branches. He sat up on his hunches making him taller. He appeared ten times as big as normal since he was so angry. He snaked his head from side to side, his neck looking much like a wave of gold as the moon shone upon his scales. He snorted, sending gray smoke from his dilated nostrils that swirled around his head. His glowing eyes, like thin slits, glared up at Glory who headed straight for him. He paid attention to Fate's words, but paid them no mind. He would do what was right..

Glory screeched and swooped, swinging herself to the right sharply, the opposite direction of Fate and continued to challenge the much larger dragon. She drew back, expanding her wings to their full length and waited for Thrain to take flight. The gold dragon lifted himself and hurled upward, moving straight for her. She dove out of the way, but he was faster and meet there, his blow sending her spiraling downwards. She growled and he hissed at her, "You won't prevail!" Glory snapped her jaws near his face as he threw out his arms, latching onto her with his massive claws. With a twist, he flung her above him and then raced up deliver another strike.

The two went on like that for what seemed like hours. They were tiring out, but their unrelenting hate for the other drove them on. Glory often attempted to spit fire at Thrain, but he dodged the flames and gave her a few good licks. She was slowing down and Thrain saw the perfect opportunity to dive for the kill. He threw himself to the left, making her twist to follow him so her back was facing the rocky hill side, and dove downward. She started to follow until he switched upward and pulled back. Glory stunned. He thrust himself forward with all the power he could muster, and the image of his mate in his mind, and rammed her hard into the rocks. She screamed out and fell down, tumbling to the rocky shore below. It was a gruesome sight, but Glory lie all crushed upon the jagged stones.
