Scott watched as sadie made it to there room, then he turned his attention back to lynn. Scott watched her get down from the counter ready to catch her if she fell. After lynn had answered scott she closed her eyes , scott wonder why but kept his mouth shut as he continued to watch her settle herself.

Scott tilted his head side ways, like a confused puppy. He didn't understand why she had turn away from him. Was it something he had said? Or did she just not care for his company. As lynn walked to the fridge scott found his eyes trail over her body. He was snapped from his day dream when lynn told him about them haven't having a dog for quite some time on the farm " well I hope sadie won't be too much a trouble for anyone" he said as he leaned against the counter

Lynn struggled to remain facing away from him as she gathered up the rest of the things she would need to make a sandwhich. "Would you like one?" she called over her shoulder, not looking at him. "Its ham and cheese with honey on warm bread." As she maneuvered her way around the kitchen, she could feel his eyes trailing over her body and it bothered her. Normally she would have snapped at him, but not to night.

"Yes, the last dog we had was when i was twelve. He was a purebred collie by the name Saint." As lynn started making up the snack, she replayed the memories of her favorite dog running around the barns and frolicking in the flower field. "But, Saint was put down after a horse trampled him in an accident." she said she shook her head.

" yah sure i will have one that would be nice thanks." scott says as he looks out the kitchen window, even though it was dark out he could see the stars and make out the dark solid shapes of some horses that were still out in the pasture sinc eit was spring time. scott crossed his arms infront of his chest as he continued to look out the window.

" im sorry to hear that , my mother was very fund of collies, when i was just a child she used to breed and show them" scott says softly as he talks about his mother, he smiled at the thought of her. " sadie run out under neath the feet of one of our biggest stallions when she was just 8 weeks i went to go get her but by the time the stallion came down he landed on my right shoulder" i say as i place my hand over the hoof shaped scar that never went away

Lynn nodded her head and started cutting ham and laying it over a slice of fresh bread. "You speak of your mumma in past tense." she observed. She listened quietly talk about her and in his voice, she could hear love,

As she put cheese on the last sandwich, she started to carry them to the oven. Now, he was talking about a scar on his shoulder. She paused just before she bent down to open the oven, thinking hard if it was a trap or not. A trap to see if she would actually look at his bare skin or because he was just musing over his past wound. She was just skeptical like that. Lynn shoved the snack in and shut the door. Risking it, she glanced at the horse shoe scar and nodded. "Ouch." and then walked to the window above the sink.

" oh so you noticed that" scott said as he lean against the counter and let a deep sigh out " mom was pregnant with my baby sister lily after a litterof collie pups were born. And one day when the puppies were almost 9 weeks one ran out into the yard my mom caught the pup but a stallion named high voltage got loose, she loved that stallion so she tryd to calm him down but he ran her over she went done in the yard come to find out later at the hospital she ost the baby and she had stage 4 lung cancer ." Scott paused touching the scar again " she died a month later she was only 38"

" her life dream was to be an eventer so I started todo eventing and my angel was from her precious mare, truely lovely" I say as my eyes soften thinking about memories in the past

Lynn said, "Hard to notice." and went back to set the oven for two minutes.
Scott started to go on and explain about his mother and what happened to her. She felt sorry for him and then sorrow turned in pain as he continued on. It made her think about her own mumma. She stared longingly out the window fighting back the tears that threatened to over spill from her moist eyes.

"Im terribly sorry." she said as she brushed past him as the oven went off. She accidentally touched him and flinched. Maybe he did not notice. This seemed to be the time for him to open up and express his childhood. Should she? No, she couldn't do it to this stranger. Not yet.
"Here ya go." she said in haste and moved for the kitchen door with her snack.

" I don't usually talk about what happen to my mom, mostly because I don't like making other people let alone anyone upset or unhappy..so sorry if I have done that" scott said as he watched lynn standing by the sink looking out the window. He noticed her soft eyes had started to become moist he felt horrible if he had gone too far. He could see she was heavily burden with something from her past he thought as he watched her.

" its alright, sometimes letting go of the ones you love the most is all you can do" scott said softly as he thought of his mom, and awkward silence began just before the oven timer went off. As lynn brushed pasted him she acidently touched him. He saw her flinch but spoke no word of it. " thank you" scott said as he watched her head to the kitchen door, he wanted her to stay but he didn't know what to stay

Lynn heard everything he said as she headed for the kitchen doorway. "Sometimes." she replied and then added, "Chores are at 6:30 sharp." With that, she vanished into the darkness.

Lynn tip toed to her room, passing the Hispanic girl's room. Her nickname was Rose. She glided into her room and shut the door, latching the lock and walking to her bed. She sat on it and nibbled her sandwich. She thought about their conversation just now and that did it, the dam she had built to block the past burst and she pressed her face to her pillow and cried.

" alright" scott says as he watches her leave and go to her room. Scott started to walk up the steps to his room. His dorr was still open and sadie had fallen asleep on the area rug in the middle of the room. Scott smiled at his dog.

As scott walked closer to his room he heard soft sobs coming from lynns room. He wondered what she was crying about but since it was late he would ask her later. After finishing his snack and taking a shower. Scott sat on his bed, now in basketball shorts looking at the cieling he sighed as sadie whimpered and got on the bed. After a short time he fell asleep dreaming of old times

The next morning, Lynn woke up before her alarm to the sounds of growling in her ear. She flew out of bed with a squeal only to find Jinx, her tabby, curled up on her pillow. "It was just a dream.." she murmured thinking about her dream. It consisted of a dark brown wolf prowling around the farm and sitting outside her window, waiting for her to come out.

She climbed into the shower and got back out just as quickly as she got in. She threw on some old holy jeans and a light blue tank top. She never put on make up unless she was going out, which was never. She ran a brush through her wet hair then left her room. She snuck past Scott's room and went down stairs. She made some coffee, ate a piece of toast, then left the house for the barn.

Cloud was dancing in his stall by the time she got there. He was ready for some exercise before he would breed his next mare today. "Ready boy?" she cooed as she led him out of his stall to the open arena inside and let loose on the lunging rein.

Scott was awake from a nightmare of the day he watched his mother being run over by the stallion,by sadie licking his face and whinper for hime to get up. " its ok girl" he says as he looks at his clock it was 5:09

Scott headed to the bathroom where sadie waited patiently outside the door while he took a shower. After that he put on medium faded jeans and a grey t shirt. He combed his hair and fliped it to the side since it was a little bit long but just above his eye brows. He went down to the kitchen with sadie on his heels. He smiled and place her some fdog food then then graped some toast and orange juice then head to the mares barn to start working.

As scott entered the mares barn he was welcomed with plenty hungry mare " easy ladys you all will get breafast very soon" he said as he and sadie went around feeding and watering the mares grooming them, turning them out to pasture and mucking out stalls. He had saved angel for last.

Angel whinnied with joy as scott finally made his way over to her. He had feed and mucked ouut her stall so what was left was to groom her and walk her around for alittle. " come on my angel time for a bath" scott saud gently to her as he led her to the wash racks. Angel whinnied letting every horse and every human know she was up and ready to go

Lynn held on to the rein loosely as she watched her baby move around her in a circle with perfect, graceful movements. The big palomino extended his legs and puled them in tight when he moved, keeping his neck arched and head in while he held his silky tail like a banner behind him. His blue eyes flashed each time he past the exit to the mare barn. He debated whether or not to call out with Lynn because she would reprimand him.

Lynn smiled and cooed, "Great Job." he nickered and stepped it up a pace and started to lope a choppy lope. "Straighten it out, Cloud." she warned and he moved into a gallop and the smiled at her. Lynn brushed some strands of red hair from her eyes and tugged him to a halt. He dared a buck and she giggled. "Time for pasture."

Cloud skipped along side her until they reached the pasture with a few other studs. Of course, Cloud was the only main stud but a couple others were kept as show. Cloud trumpeted his arrival by flinging his head up and then clashing down. He bolted through the gate and raced around the paddock, glaring the others down until they moved away from him.
"Your such a tool!" Lynn laughed and went to the mare barn.

Scott had angel tied and started to spray her with the hose. Angel loved her baths so she held still for them most of the time any way. After about fifhteen minute he takes angel to one of the pastures to run around and dry off.

As soon as angel gets the lead rope off she whinnies and takes off, playfully buckning and rearing. Stretching her legs. She trotted around her pasture tail like a banner and ears pricked at every sight and sound she saw and heard. She saw scott waiting at thhe fence for her to finish acting like a foal and come see him. She cantered to the fance and nibbled on his arm looking for treats

" you silly goose. Have your fun now cause later we have some schooling todo" scott said with a smile on his face as angel comes over to the fence and blows in his face. He gives her a treat before heading back to the mares barn to sweap the ailse. And do what ever else needed to be done. Scott sighed and smile after he had clean the mares barn.

Cloud stopped and stood at dead center, watching over the other studs carefully and closely. One in particular always wanted to out do him but he did not seem to be out today. He grunted, womdering where he could be today. He started to trot around the length of the fence, boredom starting to sink. He came to the side that divided the mare from from and saw a new mare. She was really good looking. She was acting like a foal and it made him smile. He tossed his head back and half reared up to get her attention.

Lynn came in the door just as Scoot did. She could only hope he didnt hear her crying last night. She did not say to him as they crossed paths, she wasnt one to make conversation but he seemed like he usually did.

after scott left angel, she began to graze, only to have her attention be stolen by a rearing golden stallion, in the paddock next to her. She pricked her ears and lift her head twards his direction. She smile and swished her long wavy multi colored tail at flys. She shock alittle before deciding to take her time walking over to the fence where the paddocks met. She was a good foot or so away from the fenceand turned side ways. She started to graze teasing him as if he had done all his showing off for nothing. Her beautiful coat shone in the late morning sun.

Scott noticed lynn walk past him as he finished his chores, he smiled " good morning" he said. He wouldn't bring up that fact that he had heard her crying the night before. Sadie was laying down in angels stall but didn't bother getting up to greet lynn as she normally would since she was taking her late morning nap

Cloud whinnied when he finally got her attention. He pranced in place as she made her way over to him, but then she stopped. She stood close to the fence and then began to graze, teasing him. He grunted and tossed his head up high, sending his ripping white mane in all directions. "Why do you stop so far?" he asked her as he studied her form with perverted blue eyes.

Lynn glanced up at Scott and gave him a tiny smile and a nod before continuing on. She tucked some stray strand of red hair behind her ears and coughed as she passed Shinning Time being worked by one of the men. She crossed around the group and walked up to Dan's office. He had requested her early in the morning.
"Dan?" she said softly as she knocked on the door and then left herself in.
Dan looked up from his desk and set his pen down. "How are you this morning?"
Lynn nodded and leaned up against the wall, waiting for him to get down to business. "Well?" she said slightly annoyed. She seemed to be a little off today..

Angel smirk as the stallion through his head and asked her why she had stopped so far away from him. She slowly lifted her danity head to look at the stallion. Angel smiled knowing he was watching her body and her movement as she walked alittle bit closer towards him., her multi colored, wavy mane and tail flowed around her like live fire as she walked " iwhy do you want me to come closer" she asked and a voice that sounded more like a melody of a song rather than a voice. Her icey green eyes shimmered in the sun light as she looked at him

After scott finished to brood mares barn, he went to work with some of the. Younger horses that needed to be ridden. Then as he finished he fed the yearlings and the pregnent mares and put the ones that were ready to foal into the expecting stalls. " easy girl you'll be fine soon there will be a neww foal running around maybe half as pretty as their mommy" he said with a smile as the mare nudged him

Dan looked at her a little surprised, but brushed her attitude off. "I was just asking how that Scott guy is getting on." he said.
Lynn let out a breath and said, "He is doing fine. A very hard worker." she redid her hair."Is that all?"
Dan nodded his head and said, "Send him in."
She walked out and went to find Scott. "Scott?" she called and then she found him coming from the pregnant mare's isle. "Dan wants to see you." she said meeting his gaze strongly.

Cloud chuckled and watched her come closer, "Got you to come closer." he chided and waited till she was nearer. He could smell her scent stronger now and he liked the sweetness it had. "Whats your name, Beautiful?" he asked as he reached his thick neck over the fence and rested it there for a moment. He stood still, casually swishing his silken tail or twitching his muscles at flies.

Scott looked up to see lynn and heard her call his name, that dan wanted to see him. " alright thanks" he said as he started to walk towards dan's office. As he got to the door he took a breath and sighedc then he knocked on the door and let himself in " you wanted to see me dir?" He ask as he stood behind a chair

Angel smiled teasing him . She bated her eyelashes then said " my and is sunsets painted angel or angel for short" she watched him for a while then asked " what's your name" as she came closer to the fence and rump up against his nose with her body she released some of her heat scent smell as her rump passed his nose even though. She wasn't in heat yet

Cloud smiled and closed his eyes as Angel passed over his nose, brushing her body against it and letting out her scent. He pulled his head back and grinned. "Im Cloud." he said and kissed her flank just before she moved away. He jerked his head back over the fence and shook it. His sheath tingled with excitement because he knew this mare would soon be his. "you must be new." he comment.

Dan smiled at Scott when he came in. "Yes i did." he said and took a swig of in coffee. "I just wanted to make sure you were gettin along alright." he said casually, eying him down. He wanted to ask him something else still, but wasn't sure how to do it.

Angel smiled she always teased stallions, even when she was younger she would. She could tell he wanted her " yah I am new here" she said as she faced and and smirked " and who are you...the big man on campus" she said as she swished her long silky, wavy tail at flys and partly showing off. She shook her lugerious mane out of her icey green eys that looked more like crystals

Scott answered " everything is great its nice here" he said but notice dan wanted to ask him something more " uhm sir is there something you wanted to ask me" he asked not to pry to hard

Cloud chuckled and shifted his weight, "Why of course i am." he lifted his head high and proud. He winked back at her and then lowered his head to graze. "How long you going to be here?" he asked between mouthfuls. He lazily swished his tail and shook out his long mane as he waited for her answer. It still bugged him that the one stallion he loved to torment the most was not here.

Dan smiled a little, "Yes there is, but it may seem a little awkward." he paused for a moment. "What do you think...about Lynn?" he finally said as he adjusted his belt and sat down again.

angel settled down and started to graze as well as cloud then lifted her head to answer him " i will be here for maybe a year it depends on what scotty would like todo" she says as she flick her tail at flies and shacks her mane relaxing she smiled as she noticed he was alittle distracted " what am i not enough to keep your mine off of wondering where your little play mate is" i say with a laugh

scott looked at him alitttle shaken by what dan had asked him " uhm she's a nice girl why do you ask that" he asked as he put his hands into his back pockets waiting for dan to reply

Cloud chuckled. "your more than enough." but it still bothered him that Chip was not there. He began to pace uneasily, listening towards the barn. He had amazing hearing. He also watched Angel at the same time. "Ill be right back." he said as he trotted off quickly to front of the pasture, towards the barn. He got right up on the fence and strained to listen to the activity inside. Softly at first, he made out the sounds of lusty grunts and feminine moans. "Chip!" he growled and he listened further to see if he could tell who the mare was. "Diamond Rose!" he squealed. He pinned his ears and reared, losing them in a sea of white mane. "That bastard!" he bellowed. All the studs turned to look at him. "My favorite mare.." he hissed as he slowly made his way back to Angel. "Ill kill him." he mumbled.

Shaking his head, Dan said, "Ya see, Lynn isnt very social and doesnt get out much. I was wondering if maybe you could take her out to dinner or something like that." he looked at Scott expectantly as he pulled out a cigar.

angel watched him go adn saw him make a big fit out of some other stallion mating his favorite mare. angel snorted and stomped a hoof before turning away from clouds pasture. she was no one's second best and when some one treated her like that she always showed them her temper. she start to flirt with some of the other stallions near the fence in tihe same pasture as cloud/ she smirked know exactlly what she was doing

scott rubbed the back of his neck as dan asked him to take lynn " do you really think she would want to " he said as he thought about asking lynn out on a date
