Fayre saw the momentary look of pain across his face when he turned to face her. "See, you need to be in a proper bed. A floor is no place for a wounded soldier." She put her hand on top of his. "And you need the sleep more than I do. I was sleeping in the forest before those men showed up, as well as yourself. I promise, I'm not tired at all, but I don't like to see you in pain, and if you stay on the floor it may get even worse." She gave him a slight hint of ' puppy-dog ' eyes when she looked at him. She smiled when he told her he loved her and she whispered, "I love you, too.."

"No. Go to bed." I pointed to the bed and kissed her cheek. "Please." I smiled. I put my fingers through hers. "I'll be fine." I looked at my chest and frowned. "I will."

Fayre sighed and looked at him one last time, "Oh, all right. But if the floor gets too uncomfortable, feel free to join me." She got up and walked back over to the bed, laying down and getting under the covers, giving Alexander one last glance before staring at the wall opposite her. Fayre took in a deep breath and closed her eyes and yawned. She layed her head gently on the pillow and slowly drifted off into a light slumber.

~Alexander~
I didn't get any sleep whatsoever through the night. All I though about was what I was going to do tommorrow. We already had rehearsals and everything, but I wanted to think over what I was going to do with Fayre. She could wear a cloak over her heand with her hair tied in a ribbon and be like a peasant..... I shook my head. No. I thought for a moment longer. She should stay in here. I'll send a servant to come take care of her. I smiled and came up on my elbows. I looked back to Fayre. I got up slowly, so I wouldn't hurt myself, and went and kissed her cheek. "Love you." I got dressed in my 'royal' clothes. I looked out the window to see it was barely mourning. I walked out the room, closing it behind me. I ran down into the kitchen and ate, putting some biscuits in a bundle. I went back up to my quarters and put the food, and some water, beside the bed on a little table. I went back out and locked the door this time. I went to the Throne room and waited for my father in my medium-sized throne which was going to be put away later today, after my coronation. I would sit in the large one now.

Fayre woke up shortly after to the slight smell of food. She opened her eyes and rubbed them with her fists before getting out of bed. She quickly spotted the food, but instead went to a mirror and ran her fingers through her hair quickly. Once she was satisfied with her "Out-of-Bed" appearance, she walked back over to the small table by the bed and quietly ate. She was rather lonely, but she had remembered Alexander had wanted her to stay in this room while he was away at the coronation. She was sure that he'd come back for her. She sighed and looked out the window from her seat.

My father walked in and smiled at me. Followinf him was a priest. I stood up from my seat and shook both of their hands. A couple of hours later, many people were in the throne room. I was in armor and in a little room branching off the huge chamber. The priest said a prayer and everyone sat. I looked over and saw my black and silver crown. I took a deep breath and set one foot slowly after another towards the thrones. I knelt at the first step and my mother put a tip of a sword on both of my shoulders. I walked up the stair and sat in a single new black-velvet and gold throne. The crown was placed on my head. I stood and the people bowed. I was now officialy king. I smiled and waved. We ate a grand feast and spent about three hours celebrating. I took soem leftovers of the feast up to my quarters. I slid them under the door. I looked around and knocked. "Fayre?"

Fayre waited for hours sitting on the bed just thinking her time away. She fell alseep once or twice but woke easily when she heard Alexander's voice and saw food slide under the door. She picked up the platter and placed at the bedside table and quietly opened the door, hiding behind it and making sure only her face could be seen. "Hello, there," she smiled and opened the door for him.

I smiled and kissed the top of her head. "Do you want to eat before I bring you out, darling?" I took the crown from the top of my head. "This things hurts, and it messes up your hair." I laughed and placed it a top my head again. "Awful little thing." I looked down the hall at both ways, seeing no one. I stepped in and placed my hands on Fayre's hips. I pressed my lips agaisnt hers softly.

Fayre smiled and laughed at his comment. "Maybe it's a bit uncomfortable," she grinned, "But you look quite dashing with it on, I must say." She then listened to his other comment, "I'm not very hungry. But I do thank you for the food." It was good to feel his gentle touch again. She put her arms around his neck when he kissed her and smiled, "It's been way too long since you last did that." She laughed quietly.

I laughed a little too loudly. "I can do whatever I want now." I smiled and took her hand. "Are you ready, my future Queen?" I motioned for the door, letting her out first. Then, I walked down the stairs quietly. Once I got to where the people were. I looked back at Fayre. "Let me wlk out first, then I'll get you." I walked in and the people at the table rose. I bowed and came up smiling. "I know this is a little soon, but, since I am King, I can choose any Queen I choose. Isn't that right?" My father looked puzzled and the judge nodded. He also gave me a puzzled look. "But what do you mean, sire?" I liked the sound of that. 'Sire'. I was now 'sire'. I chcukled a little. "I have choosen my Queen. Well, I have had her choosen for a while now." I turned and opened to door. I smiled and kissed Fayre's forhead. "My lady,." I let her out the door into the room. As she walked in, the people present gasped. "Now I know what you're thinking..." I put my hands up in a cautious way. "But I am following the royal rules. And I choose her as my wife."

Fayre nodded and listened to him carefully. When escorted out the door, she waited for him to join her. As they went to their destination, anxiety and excitement burned within her. She waited where told, and listened to everything she could make out. When Alexander came to fetch her, she smiled brightly and tried not to chuckle at the astonished looks on the people's faces that were gathered around.

The people were furious. They started talking amoung each other. My father stood. "My son, you cannot marry her, I refuse." I shook my head and laughed. "You no longer have power over me." He sat back down beside my mother. She stood and came to me. "Are you sure?" Her voice was a whisper for only me to hear. I nodded. "Yes mam." She shook her head and sat back down. I reached for Fayre's hand. "I love her." I smoled at Fayre and kissed her forehead.

Doubt started to creep into Fayre's heart. When he talked to his father and the people gathered, she began to realize she had taken matters a bit too lightly. She turned her head and looked up to Alexander. So what? She loved him, and she wouldn't let anything stand in her way. "And I love him." She said, an affirmitive look crossing her face. She rested her cheek on his shoulder as their fingers laced together.

A smile spread across Fayre's face as she continued to lean on her lover's shoulder. She suddenly looked up at him. "What about my parents? They don't know of this. My father is stubborn -- he will wage war against us. How can I let my father decide to destroy this realm and anything else that gets in his way?" She squeezed his hand slightly, a bit nervous.

I shook my head. "He won't. My kingdom lives with peace, not war." I smiled when I said my. I looked at my father. "No more war." He cringed and contiuned talking to my mother. I excused us and walked out the door. "First, we get married." I knelt on one knee and pulled out a leather box from my pocket. I opened it and held out the beautiful diamond ring to Fayre. "Will you be my queen?" I smiled lovingly.

Fayre nodded. "I'm glad to hear that." She smiled. Fayre smiled and pulled Alexander to his feet, giving him a kiss. "Of course I'll be your queen." She replied, looking into his eyes lovingly. She was so happy she was finally able to be with the one she loved....And to be able to spend the rest of her life with him, after all that they'd been through... Everything was finally starting to work out right.

I smiled and returned her kiss. I put the ring on her finger. "I love you." I played with her hair and walked her back to the dining room. The people there gasped. I laughed and kissed Fayre's hand.

"I love you more," Fayre said and hugged him. She squeezed his hand gently and rested her head against his shoulder, smiling when the people around her gasped. She figured they'd get used to it.

My mother was so outraged she stood and walked out. I just looked down at Fayre. "Do you wnat us to be excused?" I smiled kindly and waited for her reply. My father went after my mother and came out and dismissed everyone. I walked out with Fayre by my side. "Go buy a white dress. I'll talk with our parents." I handed her a bag of gold and walked outside calmly. I noticed Fayre's father was here as I suspected. I shook his hand warmly. "Hello, sir."

Fayre nodded quietly and smiled, kissing his cheek before scurrying off to find the perfect dress.
The King was enraged when he saw Alexander walked over to him. He shook the boy's hand, although his jaw was heavyset and clenched tightly. He resisted the urge to slap the new king senseless. "What the hell do you think you're doing with my daughter?" He said quietly, through his teeth.

I laughed at this man. He seemed too angry when he should be happy for his newly engagaed daughter. "Why, I'm marrying her." A sly grin came across my face. "And I'm sorry for not asking you for your permission, but may I sir? It would make my life a whole of a lot better."

Fayre looked around momentarily. She saw her father. She turned around and walked quickly out of the sight range.
Her father kept his cool, although he was clenching his fists by his side. "No, actually, I do not give you permission to marry my daughter, and I could care less if your life was happy or a living hell!" He caught sight of Fayre and stormed off, grabbed her by the arm and dragging her with him, as much as she struggled to free herself, and then forcing her atop his steed and cantering off, his wife by his side.
