I bob my head up and down ,"Yes it does. Now hold on tight!" I lunge for the night sky. I sore up ward and tehn level out spreading my wings and zooming down again, parallel to the slope, "keep your eyes peeled!" i shout over the wind.

I chuckle to my self and search the white barren mountain side for a red back pack. I spot something red leaning up againt a rock not far below. "Hold on!" I shout back to Tala and i do a nose dive. I pull up short, batting my wings upward inorder to gently ease myself to the ground. I stop just as i am about to go after it. "Tala, its an iced over pond. If i step on it, it will break. I cant fly over because my wings are hurting. We need to hurry!" i think. "wait, you are light and good on all fours. you can go get it." i look at er with hopefilled blue eyes that were the size of her head.

I fly over the pond at a low level. I go back and forth just above her so my wind doesnt affect her. I watch carefully.

i creep across the ice slowly and finely get to the backpack i pull on it gently but it was stuck in to the ice "shoot" i mumble and pull a little harder

i saw a crack form in the thin ice. "Tala!" I shouted. I swoop down and grip her by the cruff with my jaws. Using less strenth so i dont hurt i mumble, "Pull harder!" as we hover over the cracking pond.

I still hold her in my jaw as i close my eyes and thank the gods above. I fly away from the pond and land smoohtly on the ground. "I dont think we should morph in our humen forms until we get to a cave or something. this will have to continue in the morning. the snow and wind are picking up."

I shrug itoff, "Hey its what friends are for right?" I let her hop on and i take to the sky. I found our same cave and i stumbled inside, my weak body morphing before i even came to a rolling stop. "Ommf" I say as Tala lands on me with her wolf body.

I nod, "Yeah." I grrab my back pack and dip through it. I pull out a frozen bottle of pop and some candy bars. "Here have a few pieces and ill melt this." I hold the pop over the dimming fire and it melt. I take a few gulps and hand it to her.

i nod my head, "yeah" and i take a few more sips of my own. I eat the rest of my candy and pull out the map. I lean closer to the fire for the light. "Okay, we are here" i pull out a pen and mark the cave. "we have a about 30 miles till the base and 100 more till we get to the closest town. My home from there is about 994 miles." i look up at her blushing. "I mostly fly everyhwere so it doesnt seem like a long distance."
