Re: The Trouble With You (M) (Reserved)
[Okay... I guess one wolf can....]
Mason tried to object, but Layla was already gone. Ianto looked crest fallen. "Sorry..." The Alpha nuzzled his hunter's shoulder before trotting down to the wolves were assembling for the hunt. "Hunts off, guys." He told them quietly. Niall and Gen growled, while Faith and Ming gave him questioning looks. "Layla already went." Gen snarled at this. "Of course!" Mason shook his head, and watched as Layla returned. He stalked over to her. "I appreciate that Layla, but we don't need you to hunt for us. I have hunters for that." Grey had opened his eyes, and was watching his brother with amusement. "Alphas also command who hunts for their pack." He growled, nodding to the younger brutes to continue eating.

Layla snarled at Mason, fur bristling angrily. "I could have sat here and done nothing!" Layla snapped, teeth flashing and colliding together as she snapped her jaws. She glared at Gen. "I was trying to help. And I am trying to be friendly for once. If you want me to be a bitch again, be my guest. I'd be happy to snap at everyone again." Layla spat, muscles bunching together as she stared into Gen's eyes. She was no wolf to toy with, and even Mason should know that by now.

Mason glared at Layla. "You aren't part of the pack. Either you can back down or leave the territory. " Gen moved to her brother's side, hackles raised. "Friendly? We were all looking forward to that hunt. And you killed the freaking bull! You kill the old or the weak, not the one necessary for making more elk!" She barked. "Listen, I don't care how tough you think you are. It gives you no right to treat my pack the way you do." Mason, who still seemed rather calm, stood slightly in front of Gen, guarding her from any attacks. "Grey!" He snarled, watching his brother as he padded up beside him. "Yes, oh dear brother of mine?" Grey asked, sounding completely unconcerned. "Escort Layla from the territory."

Re: The Trouble With You (M) (Reserved)
Layla snarled, "I was trying to help! Get that through your thick skull!" Layla snapped, fur bristling also. Glaring at Mason, her eyes were full of hatred. "I'm not arrogant. I never said I was that tough, but I try to be the best I can be because even back at home nobody appreciated it me! Grey is the only one who has actually made me feel like I mean something to someone!" She spat, glancing at Grey. "I'm not disabled. I don't need to be escorted." Layla sneered. Oscar yipped, "Stop!" He bounced forward, whimpering softly. "Layla was doing us a favor by making sure we don't go hungry. How many wolves do you see that can bring down a bull elk by their self?" Oscar asked. For a 4 month old pup, he was wise and smart. "She could bring us great use to the pack. She was trying to be nice and actually help us survive. We all know Winter is coming, and Winter is going to be very harsh to us. We need all the help we can get." Oscar said to Mason, his icy blue eyes meeting Mason's. Layla was shocked. Nobody has ever stood up for her like that in years. "The kid has a point. But I should apologize for being harsh. I'm sorry to all of you... I'm just..." Layla said, but paused. She couldn't let them know that she was a killer. And she couldn't just let them know that she had been raped by a massive brute at 6 months old.

"You're putting words in my mouth. I never said you were arrogant. I never said that you said you were tough." Mason replied calmly, putting a paw forward. "We don't need your help. I appreciate it, but our hunters don't like being shown up like that." Grey snorted, shaking his head. "Being escorting has nothing to do with disability, love." Mason sent a dirty look in Grey's direction. "Shut up." He told him, and faced Layla again. The Alpha listened intently to the pup. "We are not in risk of starvation. Our hunters are skilled at what they do, and they don't disrespect every one in the pack. Winter is months away, and we will face it like we always do. This pack is not going to fall, and doesn't need 'all the help it can get'. " His tone softened, but his glare of disapproval was still directed at Layla. "Apologize when I'm in a better mood." And with that, he turned, and started back to the area above a den where he gathered his pack sometimes. Gen walked with him, head hung low. Grey frowned. "You messed up, love."

Re: The Trouble With You (M) (Reserved)
Layla looked at Grey and nodded, "I think that's already been cleared up, don't you?" Layla sneered, but sighed. She gave Grey a soft nuzzle, her eyes closing. "You really do know how to make someone feel wanted." Layla told him, opening her eyes to meet his gaze. Layla didn't think Grey was the worst brute in the world she had known worse. Layla looked at the elk, but refused to eat, knowing Mason was being a prick at the moment. "Winter is only a few weeks away. How could Mason mistake that?" Layla asked, and with that, snow began to fall. "Yep, Mason's an idiot." She joked, chuckling softly. But a strong cold breeze washed by her, making her shiver a bit.
Layla had left the camp, since she was told by Mason to get off his territory. She laid in a tiny den, shivering rapidly. Not even Layla's thick and warm coat was enough to face the snow that blew into her den. Layla stayed strong though, and moved to the back of the den. For once, she wished someone was with her to keep her warm. "For an Alpha, he's dimwitted." She sneered to herself.

Grey growled. "Actually, he is right. Two months away. " The brute rolled his eyes, and trotted off into the trees.

Grey's head snapped up as a familiar scent drifted into his nose. He spun around, facing the one wolf he thought he would never see again. Miyako. His jaws parted slightly in disbelief. She smiled softly at him. He moved towards her, blinking to make sure he wasn't seeing things. "I thought you never wanted to see me again." The brute whispered, his regular cocky attitude gone. "I go off and on about that decision." The fae stepped forward, and the two touched noses. Grey barked happily, and leaped forward, pulling her into the wolf version of a hug. They eventually pulled away, and went dashing into the trees, Grey playfully chasing his mate. Layla's scent hit him hard, and he stopped. Miyako turned, head tilted. "What is it, Grey?" She asked. He glanced around, looking for the fae. Miyako moved back to his side, looking rather confused.

Layla couldn't take it anymore. She needed a warm place to stay. Standing up on her muscular legs, she padded out of the den and into the blizzard which seemed to be like one in Antarctica. Layla walked through the snow, her eyesight almost blinded. But Grey's scent hit her, and she suddenly felt the urge to look for him. Launching forward, she dashed through the snow as if she was a snow hare. Skidding to a stop, the beautiful fae looked at Grey, her breath heavy and rough. "Who is that?" Layla asked, looking at the other fae. She blinked her mesmerizing blue orbs, her gaze switching from Grey to Miyako every couple heartbeats. Her muscles tensed, ready for any attacks as the wind blew both her fur and the feathers pierced in her ear back.

Grey whirled around at Layla's voice, turning to face her. Miyako looked at him with confusion, her ears laced back on her head. "Grey?" She asked. "This is Layla." He explained, smiling softly. "You don't have to worry about her." His voice was filled with love, and his eyes were practically sparkling. "Miyako. This is Miyako." Grey glanced at Miyako, worried by her slightly guarded expression. "I'm his mate." Miyako told her, tail flicking as her greyish eyes examined Layla. "His real mate." She added. Grey nuzzled her cheek, smiling down softly at her before looking back at Layla. "I don't think Mason's pissed at you anymore."

Re: The Trouble With You (M) (Reserved)
Layla looked at Miyako and rolled her eyes. "Congratulations princess. I can kind of tell." Layla growled sarcastically, her blue eyes filled with sarcasm. Yep, that's Layla for you. The massive fae turned to Grey, raising an eyebrow. "I could care less if Mason is mad or not." She sneered, pulling her lip up into a snarl. "So you're Miyako?" Layla asked, turning back to the white fae. Layla let her tail flick, as her fur blew back in the cold wind. "Two months my ass Grey. Winter is practically here." She growled as she stood over Miyako, awaited her answer.
(Awe, poor Grey. He'll be heartbroken.)

Grey let out an enraged snarl. "Call her that again, I dare you!" Miyako stepped forward, touching her nose to his shoulder and shaking her head. She looked over at Layla, and nodded. "That is what Grey said, isn't it?" Miyako replied, her tone biting and sarcastic. "Two months is roughly 8 weeks. It's been 3 weeks since I said that. I'm oh so sorry I was wrong!" The brute snapped, glaring at Layla. Miyako sighed. "Can we just go, Grey? Please? We have better things to do." She looked up at him with pleading eyes. Apart, they were both selfish, arrogant pricks. But together... you'd never be able to tell what they were really like. Grey nodded. "I don't think you've met Mason yet."

Re: The Trouble With You (M) (Reserved)
Layla just laughed at Grey's outrage. "But it's okay for you to call me 'pet' and 'love'? Yeah, I don't think so smartass." Layla spat, fur bristling. She hated his pet names for her, and was ready to tare his lungs out. She growled at Grey, giving him a death glare. "I was talking about Mason. Not you. Consider that next time." Layla snarled calmly, but firmly. She sighed, "I guess I'll just go then. I need a warm place to stay, and some food. And some herbs for my wound." Layla began to pad and somewhat limp off in a direction, letting the blood drip from her leg as she continued on into the trees, her heart racing. She didn't expect Grey to be that much of a dick. Mason was right about him. But Layla was still gonna play clueless. Grabbing some herbs, she began to wrap her leg up before continuing on to her goals. But as she approached a den, a massive brute taller than Grey had attacked her, only making Layla sneer. Whirling around she tripped the brute to his belly and used a tree for momentum as she soared over the brute, grabbing his spine in her jaws as she did so. Ripping it right from the brown brute's back, the male was now dead. Layla padded into the den, which was bigger, but colder than the other. But it had food in it. Grabbing a couple rabbits, she ate grimly before drifting off into a cold sleep.
In the morning, Layla got up later than usual. She stretched her tired muscles before padding towards Mason's pack, hoping for the best. As she entered camp, brutes looked at her. "Screw off and mind your business!" Layla snapped at the males, watching them scurry off. Politely entering Mason's den slowly, she dipped her head. "Morning Mason. I hope I'm not intruding." She greeted softly, trying her best not to be impolite. "Look, I want to apologize for yesterday. I didn't mean to sound like a bitch. It just comes naturally. I just wanted to help instead of sitting around like I was taking advantage of staying there." Layla began slowly, tilting her head up to meet Mason's gaze. "I'm not exactly the friendliest wolf you could ever meet." She added, shivering softly, still cold from her long and cold night. Looking at her injured leg, she licked it softly, ignoring the frost that clung to Layla's thick pelt.

Re: The Trouble With You (M) (Reserved)
[Lol]
Grey tried his hardest not to sneer. Concern flashed in his eyes as she limped away, but they quickly hardened again. No one acted like that towards his mate and got any sympathy from him. Miyako folloed Grey as he started walking towards the territory, humming softly as they went. They settled down several miles from the territory, deciding to wait until morning.
Mason looked up as Layla entered his den. "Usually wolves ask permission before entering my den, but I'll make an exception." He smiled softly. "You weren't taking advantage of anything. My hunters don't like sitting around doing nothing, and they had been monitoring that bull for months. He made great calves, and I think seeing him with his skull crushed set us all off. The herd found a new bull. But he's kinda scrawny."
[Btw, this started towards the end of summer. So unless seasons change over night, that yesterday might have to become several weeks. Just letting you know.]

Re: The Trouble With You (M) (Reserved)
Layla smiled at Mason and nodded softly, "I understand. I didn't realize that the Hunters were wanting to get at the elk so badly. And the fresh kill pile was empty, so I was just a bit concerned." Layla told him. She gave Mason a light nuzzle on his shoulder, being respectful with a lick on the chin. "I didn't want to intrude after yesterday, so I found a den by the stream. It was a cold night, but I'll live. I'm just cold and sore. I need a break from everything for just a few hours." Layla spoke softly, her American accent flowing honey coated and angelic. "Does Grey have a soft side at all?" Layla asked, sneering softly.

"Thanks to the plentiful summer, we haven't had much need for a lot of hunting. They were anxious." Mason chuckled. "Thank you for your concern. But let the pack worry about it. If we need help, I'll promise I'll tell you." He told her, looking out of the den for a moment before sitting back. "I don't know if I would have let you back in. I was rather irritated." His eyes widened slightly at the question about Grey. He nodded. "For his mate."

Re: The Trouble With You (M) (Reserved)
Layla sneered at his last reply, "He's going to be pretty sorry when he feels its time to break my heart. It'll be a day he'll never forget." Layla snarled, fur bristling. Laying down, the fae looked at Mason for a moment. "Do you want to go the steam for a little while?" Layla asked, tilting her head to the side, revealing true emotion into her eyes instead of having them look so devious and emotionless all the time.
(You can have Mason fall for Layla at the stream if you want. But we'll wait for Grey to find out until after Miyako... *Tears up* dies. *Dramatic sobbing*)

[He'll start to like her a little, but it's not like he's going to go head over heels for her right away.]
Grey and Miyako entered the camp, earning some strange looks. He padded over to Mason's den, chuckling at Layla's words. He looked into the den. "Sorry to disappoint you, Layla, but why would I break your heart when I have Miyako? Do you honestly think I'm interested in you?" The brute scoffed, still grinning.
Mason sighed, but the name 'Miyako' caught his attention. "You found her?" He asked, smiling as Grey nodded. When that fae he spoke of had left him, Mason thought he would never hear the end of Grey's misery. The Alpha nodded in agreement to Layla's question, and moved out of the den. He looked down at the new white fae, smiling softly. "It's very nice to meet you, but I have to go." Mason looked back at Layla, and started off towards the stream.

Re: The Trouble With You (M) (Reserved)
Layla whirled around and snarled at Grey. "Do you honestly think I'm that stupid? I know what you've done to other fae's and what you enjoy doing to them! I know exactly where you were the other night, and all the bullshit you do to please a fae!" Layla roared, her blue eyes blazing with anger. But once Mason started off, Layla followed him, her tail twitching with anger and a bit of hurt. Sitting next to Mason by the small little river, she sighed. "Pardon my outburst of rage there. But I needed to get it out." Layla growled softly, not meeting his gaze. She just stared at her reflection in the water. "I'm only telling you this because you would actually care..." Layla begun, about to tell him one of her deepest secrets. "When I was young, around 6 months old. I was raped by a brute that must have strolled into my father's territory. Luckily my father had come just in time. Even though I was a fast learner of assassin back then, I was still taken by surprise. That's why around males I'm so harsh and coldhearted. I still despised brutes before then, but I was never as bad as I was after." Layla told him, lowering her head in shame. "It's why I am so cold to the brutes of your pack." Layla raised her head to meet Mason's gaze. Layla's blue eyes showed true hurt and guilt.

[Sorry about the late reply. I've decided I freaking love roleplaying wolves so I've been working on another one. Just finished him up.]
Grey's eyes widened slightly at her outburst. Miyako snorted. "Know what that was about?" He asked, looking over at her. The fae shrugged, chuckling and watching Layla trot off behind Mason.
Mason watched the water, listening to Layla with a frown. "Grey isn't effected by yelling. Our mother could yell at him for an hour, and he would be completely unconcerned." He told her, tail flicking. "In order to actually make him feel something besides irritation or amusement, you've got to dig deep. Very deep. To what he will regret forever and throw it in his face." He couldn't believe he was telling her this, but Grey deserved it, right?
Mason looked over at her in shock as she told him a bit about her past. He blinked, returning his gaze to the water. "None of the brutes here would even consider doing that, you know. They don't want to hurt you. You're a pretty fae, and they're young. God, I was that way when I was there age. I'd be nearly drooling over a fae." The brute laid down, the tips of his paws touching the water. "There aren't any forcers around here. And if there is, you'll be able to protect yourself, won't you?"

Layla sighed, "Oh he'll regret it alright." Layla sneered, snarling softly. But she gave Mason a soft and tender nuzzle, sighing softly. "I was called pretty a few times before. But I never believed it. I only see myself as an assassin. Because that's what I was trained for. I trained day and night because I wanted to accomplish my dreams." Layla told him, looking up at the sky. "I kind of miss my old pack. Mostly because of my father, Durnal. He was an amazing Alpha. And then my main mentor Nakomi. She was an assassin as well." Layla lapped up some water, looking up at Mason. "I'm sure there aren't any forcers here. But I'll never change." She told Mason, meeting his gaze steadily.

"That isn't what I meant." Mason shifted uncomfortably, but couldn't help but smile down at the fae. He listened to her, occasionally touching his nose to her head gently, head slightly tilted. "If it's what you want, then I suppose there isn't anything wrong with it." The brute yawned, looking up into the trees for a few minutes. "My father was the Alpha of this pack. I think Grey stressed him out too much and he died early. He couldn't really handle not having a 'perfect son', you know? The same for my mother. Gen wasn't a perfect little snow white fae who could have brutes on their knees with a bat of her eyes." Mason sighed, blinking his amber eyes. "Maybe you should try to change. Come back into the world of the living."

Layla listened as Mason spoke, tilting her head to the side. But when he said she should try to change, Layla almost blew up. Her fur bristled and she flashed her pearly white fangs at him, snarling softly. "I don't want to change. I love being who I am, and nobody is going to change that. Even if I wanted to, I wouldn't because I was born with everything I have now." Layla sneered, her blue eyes blazing with anger. But she calmed and sighed, "I'm sorry. But I don't want to change myself. Especially not for others. But if I could change one day in my life, it'd be the day I got in a fight with my sister Bliss." Layla looked at her reflection in the water, eyeing the feathers pierced into her ear. "As much as Bliss really pissed me off, I still love her." She lifted her head to touch her nose to his cheek, sighing softly.

Mason held his ground as she yelled at him, eyes hardening. That's rather irritating. He thought to himself, watching as she calmed. He didn't speak after that, instead just fixed her with a comforting stare now and then. After all, he had nothing to say. There wasn't anything. The sound of wolves laughing in the distance caught his attention. Though slightly curious, Mason just sighed, and closed his amber colored eyes.

Layla's eyes flared as she heard wolves laughing, her gaze hardening on the two wolves. "Come over here and laugh at our faces and see what that'll get you!" She snapped, getting onto her paws, fur bristling. Layla was definitely not a very nice wolf, and wouldn't hesitate to hurt someone. Turning to Mason, she sighed softly.
(Its okay.)
