"Harvy!" another little colt cried out.

Harvy skidded to a stop. "What? Hurry up, I'm laying a game, Aaron," he gasped.

A hurt expression crossed Aaron's face. "What? You're playing a game and you didn't invite me to join?" he whimpered.

Harvy rolled his eyes and stopped his foot irritably. "Just tell me why you called me," he demanded.

Aaron sighed. "I found another angel, and I wanted to know if you wanted to watch her wings sprout with me."

Harvy whinnied excitedly. He turned to Dee-Dee. "Hey Dee-Dee! Do you want to watch the angel sprout its wings with us!?"

Diablo looked at the foal,his head tilting as he thought about what they meant. "Uh,sure." he answered,motioning Shadow to follow with his tail as he also thought about the safety of the foals.

[Stormsong]

Shadow snorted nervously and trotted after Diablo and the foals.

Aaron led Harvy and Dee-Dee a little ways into the nearby woods before he crouched down and peered through the undergrowth. "Here. You guys get down! I don't want to scare her!"

Harvy peered through the ferns. "Woah! She's going to be a really pretty angel!" he whispered haorsly.

Shadow crouched down beside the foals and gasped at the sight before her. A young woman was lying face down on a rock in the sunshine. She was sobbing terribly, her shirt torn away from her body so that it exposed her back. Two massive welts protuded from her upper back and they were bleeding badly.

Diablo was amazed at this sight,his eyes wide as he remembers when Mindy came to heaven. She went through the same thing.. he thought. "W-wow.."

[Stormsong]

Shadow huddled close to Diablo. "Is this really how angels are made?"

The woman screamed again, the welts on her back started throbbing. Blood squirted from them, as grew larger in size.

Aaron and Harvy continued to watching awe.

Diablo nodded,his ears flattening. "Yeah.."

[Stormsong]

Shadow snorted. "I don't like it."

"Ssshhhh!" Aaron and Harvy hissed.

The woman screamed again, taking no notice of her observers. Suddenly, one welt burst, sending blood off in every direction. A stem erupted from the gaping wound before it opened up into one bloodied wing. It flapped uncontorlably, sending more blood flying.

(Got this idea from an anime show that I watched. I can't remember what it was called though. :S)

Diablo watched,his own wings spreading out slightly as he watched hers flap like it was going out of style. He wished he could fly,his head lowering as his bay forelock covered his glittering purple eyes.

[Stormsong]

Shadow pawed the ground nervously. "Diablo...."

The woman laid there on the rock sobbing and bleeding. The other welt on her back had stopped moving around.

"Uh-oh, it looks like the other wing is having trouble sprouting," Harvy commented.

Diablo lifted his head slowly to Shadow's voice,then seeing the angel. He took a deep breath,wanting to comfort her. He walked slowly and steadily out of the bushes and let his black coat shine with grace and his body pound the earth with might. His eyes showed trust,and his wings stood by his side. He remembered being born with wings,and how hard it was to learn how to use them. He walked beside the girl and rubbed her wing softly with his muzzle as he let the angel know he meant only comfort. I mean,what could he do? She was an angel for heavens sake!

[Stormsong]

Shadow trotted after Diablo.

Harvy and Aaron cried out in protest. "No! You'll frighten her!"

The woman looked up with teary eyes at the black pegasus. "Please. Make it stop," she begged. Her bloodied wing now hung limply at her side.

Not knowing what else to do, Shadow dipped her head and nibbled gently on her wing to clean it.

Diablo listened to the foals,his tail lashed against a tree as it made a thump,letting them know to shut up. He looked at the angel,his head moving toward one of her wings as he gently took it in his teeth and extended it out. He looked at it,up and down with his enchanting purple eyes and then slowly released it so it laid at full length across the ground. "Just needs to stretch them.." he thought to himself.

[Stormsong]

(Lol, only one wing has burst from her back. The other one hasn't broken the skin's surface. )

The woman's body shuddered in pain as the second welt on her back started to move again. She screamed as her second wing slowly rose from her back. Blood squirted everywhere.

Shadow leapt back with a snort when a large glop of blood splashed onto her face.

(OH! Yeah,sorry. I'm half awake here xD and the picture's fine. I'm a fan of gore anyway xD)

Diablo stood still,the blood splattered a long line across his face and over his gorgeous black coat. He didn't care,having this done many times in front of him. His feet edged toward the angel,his long and broad neck stretched out far as his head rubbed against hers for comforting. He could sense how much pain she was in,his body trembling at the thought.

[Stormsong]

The woman gripped the pegasus's face and sobbed into it, stroking his mane as she did so.

Shadow shook herself before she walked back over to the angel and continued to nibble on her wing.

Aaron and Harvy looked at each other before they cautiously approached the angel and Dee-Dee.

Diablo smiled softly,letting her tears flow down his sleek face. His wings expanded as they rested along the angel's back. His eyes darted to the movement of the foals,then toward Shadow. He smiled at them all,blood making his black coat shine in red streaks. "Sh.. Angel.." he whispered into the girl's ears with a calming voice.

[Stormsong]

While Aaron stood close to Dee-Dee's side, Harvy boldly approached the angel and nudged her. "Um, Miss? Where's your Guardian Angel?" he asked.

The woman looked over at the foal and sniffled. "Guardain Angel?"

"Yeah, you know. The angel that was supposed to stay by your side while your wings sprouted," Harvy explained. "Where is she?"

Shadow looked up and cast Diablo a curious look.

Diablo looked at Shadow to with the same look. He always saw angel's becoming angels in the heavens,never below where there was little to no angels wandering these lands. He lifted his massive shoulders with a shrug and then toward the Angel. "Mistress,do you know who he or she might be?" he asked with concern for her sake.

[Stormsong]

The woman looked just as confused as the pegasus's. "No, I.... I" she looked away, tears threatening to fall again.

Aaron looked up at Dee-Dee. "You mean, your mommy never told you the stories?"

Diablo looked at the foal,his eyes almost watering up at the little memory he had of his birth mother. "My mother.." he repeated. His head went down. "No,she didn't." he replied in a steady tone.

[Stormsong]

The foals took no notice of Dee-Dee's reaction. "Well, my mommy told me that only the purest and most innocent of women become angels. Their Guardian Angel will come to them and be with them when their wings sprout from their back. The Guardian Angel is the one who is supposed to clean the wings of a new angel before he or she takes her to heaven."

Harvy nodded his head in agreement. "What is your name vy the way?" he asked the angel.

She thought for a moment then shrugged. "I don't remember."

Diablo thought for moments,then looked at Shadow. If they're stories were true.. could she be that angel? His eyes sparkled in gratitude toward her,then smiling softly. She was an angel to him anyway. Diablo looked at the Angel and then lifted his head slowly to help her up. "Well,trying to figure out your name really wont help. You need to know how to fly. Demons lurk in the midst of the shadows,lusting for holy blood." he said in a worried voice.

[Stormsong]

Suddenly, a sorrel mare came thundering through the trees. "Harvy! Aaron! Get over here now!" she snapped.

Harvy and Aaron hung their heads and trotted over. "Yes?" Harvy asked.

"I have been worried sick about you! What did I tell you about going off with strangers?" the mare snorted.

"That it was not a good idea," Aaron answered, hanging his head guiltily.

The mare nodded and nudged the foals off.

(Lol it was time to get rid of the kids! )

Diablo looked at the mare,his wings still spread out wide as his eyes showed kindness toward her. A mother.. he thought. He seemed to idol her,looking at the foals as they trotted to her side. Maybe that could've been him.. That could've been him and his mother,trotting along together and giving those frequent lectures. He shed a tear,imagining his mother once again and him as a foal running along her side. He tried to cover them as he shook his head to let his forelock cover his eyes.

[Stormsong]

Shadow noticed Diablo staring at the mare and the foals. Her heart twisted in sympathy, she trotted over and nuzzled him. "Are you okay Diablo?" she asked gently.

Angel sat on the rock, staring after the mare and foals before she looked back at the pegasuses. "What are your names?" she asked abruptly.

(I'm just going to call her Angel. )
