Tari yawned and sat down, leaning against the trunk of a large willow tree. The willow's leaves were hanging down, nearly touching the ground, and she sighed happily. There was no place she'd rather be. The breeze wafted gently through her aubrun hair, sending tendrils flying gently around her perfectly shaped face. Her slim fingers ran through her hair, braiding one section of it. Tari tied it up with a small blade of grass, placing a flower and intertwining it with the blade of grass. She smiled and began singing to herself.

Z'han snorted and watched his companion braid her hair, and listened happily to her beautiful voice, his tail hitting against the ground in a sort of beat, keeping tune with her melodious voice. Tari didn't seem to notice, but Z'han continued anyways. He looked out across the nice, clear lake water that was splayed out in front of them. He sighed happily, and yawned, closing his eyes and falling into a very light sleep, like always.

Gheridal

The girl's appearance had changed the area. Silenced birds, stilled deer. Her voice reached my ears as I took note of the massive dragon companion. Pulling the two short daggers from their sheaths on my back, I place them over her delicate neck with a slight sound resembling the sharpening of knives. "Tell your guardian to hold" I told her, my voice low and barely above a whisper. My dark, grey tint to my skin blending with the shadows but out of place in the blinding evening's light.

Verenalia
---------------

My elven partner had become anxious, tensed, different. In instinctual reaction, I became protective and quicker to respond. He snuck up on a girl, younger but also elven. Her voice almost intoxicating. Slinking in the shadows, my light colored scales barely glowing the yellow/orange light. On silent, small wings I lift myself above the dragon and with my companion's voice land on his back. Sinking my teeth deep into his protective scales, they slice through with a unique ease. My small but useful claws gripping his back and sides but preserving the thin membrane on his wings.

Tari took in a short breath, feeling the touch of thin steel against her neck. She looked over at Z'han, to see being held down by another dragon. Her eyes flicked back and forth for a moment, before silently telling Z'han to hold. Suddenly her fear was replaced by annoyance. "What do you want?" Tari asked, frowning angrily and forcefully pushed his wrists away and got to her feet.

Z'han growled and wriggled angrily, whipping his neck around and trying to bite the other dragon. He looked towards Tari, to see her tell him to stop struggling against his attacked. Z'han growled, rumbling his whole body and the ground around him. He puffed smoke from his nose and spat fire at Tari's feet, but didn't burn him at all, although it did burn the grass around his feet.

Gheridal
--------------

Her annoyance was obvious in her tone. "Why are you here?" I retort, completely over-riding her question. I was the one who should be asking the questions. It was my job to keep innocently oblivious little children out of the forests. Even with the protection of a dragon this place could kill. Sheathing my swords, I twitch my gaze to Verenalia and she instantly jumps off the dragon's back. I noticed a little confidence in her success, and chuckle mentally. The sign of emotion was under-towed and left unrevealed.


Verenalia

The massive male dragon underneath me gave in to his master's comand. However, I continued to restrict him. Then Gheridal glances over at me. I instantly respond and bounce off the masculine body. My head held high and a small grin plaguing my small and feminine features. I noticed the tense removal of emotion in Gheridal, and respond by loping over to him in a feral-like way. My fore-legs and hind-legs moving together and then apart, similar to the motion of a sprinting cheetah. Of course, I wasn't near as fast as a cheetah when running. When running. The playful, childish thought bouncing around in my mind as I touch Gheridal's arm gently with my nose, warm air emanating from my nostrils and tickling his elbow.

Tari crossed her arms angrily. "You never answered my question. And I refuse to answer yours until you answer mine." Tari gave a devil's glare at the female dragon, then her gaze flicked back to the male elf in front of her. She tapped her foot and impatiently waited for him. She wasn't about to answer any of his questions at all. She had her right of privacy, yes? And what kind of man went up and nearly scared you to death out of nowhere? What kind of gentleman was that? Tari rolled her eyes at the thoughts, and ceased tapping her foot, but continued to glare in vexation at the male.

As soon as the rotten female was off of him, Z'han snapped his jaw over the female's tail, yanking it angrily, then letting go. He stood up to his full height, which was obviously larger than the female's small stature, and growled in a violent way, a few droplets of blood dripping from his teeth. His claws dug into the earth and he situated his wings when she pranced gayly[sp] back over to her master. Z'han rolled his eyes and couldn't help but think how pathetic she was. He extended the frills along his neck and tail, taking his spot behind his master, wrapping his tail around her feet protectively, the frills protecting her up to her chest.

Walter

The sounds of Walter and Alys' horses' hoofbeats blunty rang out through the surrounding area as they searched for a quick deer or rabbit they could slaughter and feast upon. Well, Alys didn't really own a horse since she was only a slave, but Walter gave her temporary permission to borrow an old, worn down horse to use. And well, Alys wasn't her real name, in fact it was Suma - she was given that phony name once she was captured from her country and brought to where she is now.

Walter's eyes searched for a creature that Alys could kill and bring back to the castle. Having no success, he decided to venture further into the wilderness to hopefully cease the life of an innocent being. He drew in a breath, but quickly released it when the voices of others chimed in the distance. He narrowed his eyes, only seeing glimpses of the beings from time to time. "Alys, go inspect the area of where the voices are echoing from," he ordered and threw a glare at the poor soul.

Alys

Alys swiftly nodded and dismounted the old, rugged horse. She sneakily rounded each tree, stopping regularly to check if she was in seeing distance of the beings. Once close enough, she quietly crouched and attempted to get a better view of the souls that had captured both Walter's and her attention. She was aware of the passing sticks that had nearly made their way under her open-toed shoes. Of course, it was hard to blend in with the environment with a bright red dress on and a bright white bonnet tied around her head, but orders were orders, and she couldn't disobey her master. Flashes of white, blue, and red appeared and disappeared through the trees, making Alys even more curious than she naturally already was. She inched a bit closer, and to her surprise, they had turned out to be dragons. She lundged back and gasped loudly before darting off towards Walter. "Mister, Mister! There are dr-," she froze, knowing her master would think she was crazy or either lying (according to Walter, if you lied, you would get whipped 10 times), so she drew in a deep breath and continued, "Dragons."

Walter

Walter chuckled at her foolishness and gave her a smirk. "Now where did you get such an idea like that?" he asked humorously, "Show me where you saw these 'dragons'." And with that, Alys speedily guided him to the area she had recently visited. Catching eye of the creatures Alys had reported, Walter watched in awe. "I'll be damned." Out of curiousity, Walter became stupid enough to take multiple steps closer to the group of beings, snapping multiple twigs on the way. "Well shit," he said bluntly and soon realized he had spoken a bit too loud.

Gheridal~

"Filthy humans" I snarl and throw a small dart at the man, obviously the ignorant one who bound the poor woman. The dart purposely missed the man, but only by a few inches and stuck into a tree to his right. "Why are you here? You are not welcome" My voice was now gruff, unlike that of before where it was more fatherly. I reach back towards my blades, the slicing sound ringing and bouncing off the willows surrounding us.


Verenalia~

A loud snarl rips through the area. My voice had always been louder than my actions. All bark no bite I guess. Crawling around to my masters side, I stop and smell the disgrace of nature. Immediately I sneeze the scent out of my nostrils. My shoulder blades reached a little higher than Gheridal's hips, which was fine because he never rode me. My tail slipped around my masters ankles in a protective manner. I had completely forgotten the male dragon behind me. All I was focused on was the enemy at hand. The one in front of me, and the one that was far from a typical forest species.

Tari whirled to face the obviously-not-elf man, her white gown whirling around her feet and nearly getting caught on Z'han's frills. Her reddish brown hair flew up momentarily, and landed gently on her back, and she eyed the man. He didn't look awful, but he was obviously evil, considering the servant girl that stood a little ways a way from him. Tari always hated people who owned servants. Nobody needed to be treated that way! Tari's eyes flickered to the elf male, whom she realized she'd never caught the name of, and noticed the change in his voice. Tari wondered if he'd been going easier on her when the two of them had been speaking. She felt Z'hans tail wrap tighter around her, although his frills were down now.

Z'han's head whipped around and sent a spark of fire spiraling towards the male's feet, baring his still blood-stained teeth. Z'han growled and kneeded his claws in the dirt, causing long gashes in the ground. He wrapped his tail tighter around Tari's ankles, though eventually he let go and walked up to the human, towering over him, and Z'han stuck his face in the man's, snorting out a foul-smelling smoke, then lifting his head and examining the female, who had an obediant (or was it slightly fearful?) air about her, and Z'han decided to leave her alone. Z'han growled, and puffed out more smoke, then turned and went back to Tari, wrapping his tail around her ankles.

Walter

Walter threw a harsh glare at the elven male who had not taken much of a liking to his presense. He narrowed his eyes and snickered bitterly before speaking. "Do you know who I am?" He paused, soon begining to open his mouth again. "I'm King Walter II, if you hadn't already known." Walter was always very pompis, and he made sure of it through his deep voice. He glanced over his shoulder at Alys and chuckled, quite enjoying the moment. Catching eye of the female, his expression softened. He dared to take a step closer to get a better view of this beautiful creature. "My Lord... You are beautiful, miss."

Alys

Alys stiffened once they started to interact, really not wanting anything to do with this situation. She kept her eyes at the ground since she was unable to make eye contact with any of the creatures. She was always one to be jumpy when she encountered souls like such. She found the dragons incredibly intimidating - maybe because of their size, or their overall appearance. The other human-like beings gave her a bit of curiousity, of course not knowing what they are because of her lack of exposure to these kinds of things.

Gheridal~
"I do not care who you own" I snarl and watch him closely. He then moves towards Tari. I cross my blades over his jugular, one quick motion and he would be dead. "Do not touch the girl" My voice was protective once more. This disgusting creature shouldn't even be treading on the forest's Earth. "Verenalia, take the servant" I command, without taking my eyes from the supposed 'king'.

Verenalia~

I respond quicly to Gheridal and bound over to the servant, my running looking like a weasel or ferret's run. I wrap my tail around her ankles and look up at her. "I won't hurt you, just stay calm" My voice trailing in a serpentine hiss.

Tari was rather surprised to hear he was a king, and muttered almost silently, "You sure don't seem like one." She opened her mouth to make a rude retort, but was taken back when she'd realized what he said. She closed her mouth slowly and furrowed her brows, crossing her arms delicately over her chest. Tari couldn't really think of what to say to him, and instead remained silent, lips pursed in a thin line. She stared at him with disgust, and eventually dropped her gaze, unable to stare at the man in the eyes. Tari wanted to retort to him, but she had been raised not to say something rude to a comment. Tari was silently cursing her parents for the way they raised her. She looked up, finally, wondering why the male elf was protecting her.

Z'han was also taken back by the comment. His lips curled up and he growled angrily at the male, who dared to step closer to his master. Z'han let smoke fly from his nostrils and filled the air with its foul smell. Z'han's tail unintentionally curled tighter against Tari's ankles, restricting her from making any other movements. He watched her in her silence, wondering why she wasn't speaking. It wasn't like her to hold her tongue to strangers, but Z'han was extremely pleased with the male elf for protecting his master, and curred his approval.

Walter

Walter chuckled quietly once the elven male had held a blade to his throat. "You wouldn't slaughter a person for nothing, would you?" He smirked and journeyed on. "I have done nothing to you but have tried to start a conversation, no?" He flashed a look at the female who seemed to be avoiding eye contact with him. He let out a sigh and rested his hand quietly on his swords handle. He knew how to get out of this situation, however, he had wait untill the exact time to spark up his plan. He wrapped his fingers around the handle and threw a glance over at his servant who had seemed to not be enjoying the moment one bit.

Alys

Alys nearly shrieked once the dragon's tail coiled around her ankles, but managed to hold it in when she covered her mouth with the palm of her hand. Her hands shook in terror as she forced herself to remain silent. She closed her eyes in an attempt to fight the tears that had tried to run down her face only a moment before. As you could probably tell, she is a very emotional person.

"You have ignorantly waltzed into a forest that could easily kill you, bragged about being king of others like yourself, and hit on an elven girl. I have plenty of reason to kill you" I said, my words strong and I pushed harder with every reason. A thin, scarlet ribbon trickled down his neck. He reached for his sword, but I didn't stop him. It wouldn't be hard to overpower this human. He doesn't even fight for himself. The breath of the red dragon was hot and moist on my neck. The stench of his breath tickling my nostrils.


Verenalia

"Come with me" I whisper to the girl, releasing my grip and stepping to the left. As soon as I did so, I disappeared. The forest ferns and bushes hiding my short, slender body. "Hide in here, I cannot protect you and my master" I stated, then slinked around to the back of the king. Nipping at his hand and getting him to move it instinctively, I grab the hilt of the sword and pull it from it's sheath. Giggling slightly at his reaction, I lumber into the brush and hand the sword to the woman. "Just don't slaughter anyone by accident" I snort.

Tari listened to the two of them bicker, and finally let her shoulders slump and sighed rather loudly. "You," she nodded towards the elven man, "Are acting like one of them." Tari pointed to the man who called himself a 'king.' Tari frowned and continued in her melodious voice, "Are all men the same? Kill this, kill that. Would both of you just calm yourselves and treat each other as one in the same?" Tari crossed her arms and tapped her foot, lightly pushing Z'han's tail out of the way. She heard him growl and clicked her tongue at him, telling him to behave.

Z'han growled and nodded his approval with his master, eyeing the two men with skepticism. Z'han finally spoke up in his deep, gruff voice, "It would be best if you took your hand off your sword, your majesty," Z'han's tone was mocking the king at the last part, but he could care less. He ceased his growl when he got a click from Tari, and he lowered himself to the ground until his soft, exposed belly touched the soft grass, and snorted angrily, spitting fire at the king's feet. He whipped his tail around and smacked the king's hand that rested on the sword lightly, with the tip of it, and watched the female dragon and servant scurry off into the woods.

Alys

Alys glanced at her master, unsure of what to do. Surely, if he ever got out of this alive, she would recieve multiple beatings. She drew in a deep breath and took the sword in her hand. She felt extremely uneasy holding his sword and not by orders. She knew he was going to be furious, but dared not make the dragon mad. She threw a confused look up at the dragon, not sure of what to do with the sword exactly. She was careful of not to nick her fingertips or drop it.

Walter

Walter rolled his eyes and snorted, furrowing his brows with a bit of rage. "How dare you speak to me that way!" He narrowed his eyes and quickly reached for the elven man's sword, sucessfully grabbing the handle and now holding it in his hand. He soon realized that wasn't the best idea of what to do at the moment, considering the dragons could easily slice him in half and the the elven male could effortlessy regain control of his sword.

Tari gave him a hard stare and picked up her dress's skirt gently in her untanned hands, and walked over to the two of them. She lowered the elven man's sword from the king and gave the elven man a glare. "Now, act like civil beings instead of wild animals." Tari smirked and let her dress trail along the ground around her feet, now. She stood here, hands clasped in front of her and looked at the two of them a moment before responding. "Excuse my manners, I don't believe I've introduced myself. I'm Tari, and that's my dragon, Z'han."

Z'han nodded his approval of his introduction, but stayed put when Tari walked over to the two of them. She had always acted like the peace-maker, even though it was with somebody she didn't know or necessarily like. Z'han had few ideas of what was running through the elf woman's mind, and chuckled deep within in his throat as some of the thoughts crossed his mind. Tari was often rebellious, even though she was an elf, and that was looked down upon highly in their culture. Z'han relaxed himself and folded his wings tightly against his back, his tail tapping the ground gently as he watched the gathering of the three, wondering where the female dragon and servant girl had gotten off to.

Gheridal~
I spit at the girl's feet, missing purposely. "You treat me this way after protecting you?" I snarl, ripping my sword from the man's hand and sheathing them both. "Weak is what you are, I would kill you, but you never attacked me." I say and turn to the bushes. A loud whistle pulling from my lips. Verenalia soon appeared, loping over to me. I stroke her head and turn to the man "I hope you will not enter this forest again" I say and turn around to leave.


Verenalia~
I turn quickly and bound to Gheridal. Purring at his touch.He then turns to leave. Shrugging, I turn around as well. My eyes trailed back to the large male dragon. He seemed... odd. Not to be rude or anything, just.. he wasn't like the typical guys. Gheridal and the king were obviously typical, arguing and threatening murder over a silly little thing. Sighing, I turn and continue at Gheridal's side.

Tari folded her arms angrily and made a small 'hmph' as she watched him leave. "You leave without even saying your name? Am I too much trouble to even bother?" Tari was rather offended, and she let it show plainly across her face. Tari rolled her eyes and walked stiffly back over to Z'han after flicking the human male under the chin, and sat down, leaning against the willow tree once more, and began to sing softly the song she had been singing before the elven male had randomly showed up out of nowhere and nearly scared her to death. The singing helped calm her down, sometimes. And it appeared to be working, as she watched the sunset set and display wonderful hues across the lake's surface.

Z'han recognized that Tari was irritated, and didn't bother to try and comfort her, knowing he would probably only make it worse. Instead, he switched positions so he was on one side of her, that kept him farther away from the king, and he laid his head down, watching the sunset on the lake that was in front of them. Z'han wondered why the elven male's actions had infuriated her so, but sometimes Tari was unpredictable like that. Z'han shrugged it off and closed his eyes, a rather sweet-smelling smoke wafting up from his nostrils this time, as he was content to sit by his master and listen to her wonderful voice.

Walter

Walter grunted and rolled his eyes in pure irritance as he saw the elven man start to exit. He searched his sides for his sword, soon realizing that it was stripped from his body and was missing. He stole a glance at Alys, only to see that she had gripped the blade in her hand. He blazed over to her with pure fury and grabbed her wrists, soon throwing her in a jerking motion to the ground. The sword had been thrown into the opposite direction, but at this moment, he paid no attention to it. "What the hell were you thinking?! You stole my sword, you worthless SLAVE!!" He gritted his teeth and bickered beneath his breath as he went to pick up the sword that had been carelessy tossed on the ground. He slid it back into its sheath and gazed back over at Tari who had he become quite fond of although he had endured hardly any interaction with her at all. He made his way about 6 yards away and bowed in respect. "Tari is a gorgeous name, miss," he said politely and out of his character.

Alys

Alys weeped silently as she laid on the ground with her hands cupped around her face. When she glanced up at Tari and Z'han, she gave them a small plead to take her away from this horrid place. Of course, she didn't expect them to do so, but she tried anyway. She quickly wiped the tears off her cheecks and stood. She dusted off her dress and stayed still in wait for her owner.

Gheridal

"You obviously do not want me for what I came her to do. You need no help, you are not lost" I answer. My dark eyes flicking to the red dragon male. He was obviously sort of confused with his girl. I ignore it however and turn to leave once more. A violent aura however forced me back around. "Leave he be!" I snarl and practically run to the two. He was already off her however. I reach my hand out to the woman. "You shouldn't treat anyone that way. Even though it is tempting for me to throw you on the ground right now" I hiss through clenched teeth.

Verenalia

My boy's obvious tension and slight confusion brought me into a state of protection but curiousity. Was I to help? Leave them be? I sigh and shake my head, causing the long, ice-blue ears resembling those of elven culture to flap around my head. They returned to their backward diagonal position as I stilled. With a huff, I land in a laying position. My gaze watching the three with caution. It wasn't until then that I realized I was considerably close to the red dragon. My face felt hot as I stood and bounced over to the other side, next to the bushes. My face plagued with a frown. I was so worked up about Gheridal that I could have killed myself.

Tari raised an eyebrow and looked at the elf male, "I don't even know what you came here to do!" She got to her feet in an isntant. "You nearly scared me to death! Not everybody comes up to females and practically threatens them!" Tari huffed angrily and turned back to her dragon, only to see the human male shouting at his slave, she was about to do something when the elf man came back and did something. Tari grimaced slightly but let it be, turning her head to see the king beside her. She listened to his compliment and dropped her gaze, staring at the grass, and murmured, "Thanks," as she tucked a strand of braided reddish-brown hair behind her ear.

Z'han growled at the elf man's harsh tone, and stabbed his tail into the tree, splitting the wood with a loud crack. Z'han hissed through his teeth and snatched a bird out of midair, swallowing it whole, and keeping one watchful eye on the king who was yet again complimenting his master. Z'han was wondering why the human was so caught up in Tari. Sure, she was beautiful, but the elf men never treated her that way. To them, she was just any ordinary girl, although only her vocals set her apart. Z'han bared his teeth and raised the frills from the back of his head to the tip of his tail to make himself appear bigger (even though he was already pretty big), and kept his two watchful eyes on the King, although they flicked back and forth between the elf and his dragon with the servant girl.
