Mason grumbled as they took him to surgery and sat patiently, waiting for yet another doctor to examine the wound, which had completely numbed and stiffened his shoulder now, making it almost impossible to move. He sighed and wondered about Gabriella.


The nurse, Natalie, nodded and beckoned Gabriella to follow.

[Harley]

Gabriella followed eagerly and rubbed the wound on her cheek. "Thanks for showing me." She smiled and ran a hand over her hair as she followed.

I grumbled as I realized now that this would go in the papers, and there would be more "WANTED" signs of me posted up than there had ever been. A steady flow of curses emitted from my lips as I paced back and forth, clutching my thigh to make sure the bleeding had stopped. I limped back and forth, pondering my options. Well, I had to get Gabriella back in my hands. By right, she was mine. She had no idea the connections I had to her family lineage. I clenched my fists and cursed again. I swore to myself I'd find her and finish her off if it was the last thing I did.

Gabriella kept following the nurse, fear on what Devin was doing at the moment.

The nurse brought Gabriella into a room with large, fancy-looking tapestries. "Be careful in here," she warned. "This isn't actually part of the hospital. The manager lives here, and she doesn't like anything out of place. She even goes to the extent of measuring the location of each placed item to make sure it's in the correct spot when she returns home at night. I'm afraid you'll have to take your food and eat outside." Natalie prepared a burger with a few carrots and a small salad. "What would you like to drink? Mrs. Warrens -- the manager -- doesn't drink soda, but we have fruit juices and the like." Natalie was went over to look into the small refrigerator.


Finally, I let out a long sigh. This was hopeless! If I ever did manage to get my hands on her again, there would be no time for proper torture -- or at least, what I called proper torture. I paced a few more times before my thigh began to burn with the effort. I took a seat on a chair and rested my elbow on my good knee, resting my chin in the palm of my hand. This was going to take a while, I concluded, sighing angrily.

"Water, please." She said and accepted the food. "OK, outside." She siad rather nervously.

Natalie poured a glass of water and handed her the tray of food, then the tall glass of water. She nodded slightly and wiped her hands together, then clasped them together tightly. "Well, I'll be back shortly. Twenty minutes tops. I have to tend to some of my patients, then I'll come check on you. If anything goes wrong, there's a small button that looks like a doorbell on the side of Mrs. Warrens' door. It will sound an alarm in the main office of the hospital. Somebody will be out to get you in under five minutes." Pleased, Natalie nodded once more and scurried away.

Gabriella hurried outsdie, enjoyed the burger and hurried through the salad. She drank the water in several sips and headed back inside. Gabriella wondered about Mason, how he was doing.

About an hour later, Natalie had already returned, and the doctor had headed outside with Mason, who looked a bit dreary. He saw Gabriella and his eyes widened happily and he rushed over to her, stiffly raising his bad arm [right] and wrapped her in a hug. "Hey," he said, backing up and ignoring the pain of straining the new stitches. "How are you?" He asked quietly, kissing her nose gently.


I nodded and began to write a note to Gabriella. I wrote to her, telling her if she didn't comply to my demands I'd murder Mason and cut his heart out, then send his heart to her in a silver-wrapped package. A twisted grin spread across my face as I told her if she showed this letter to anybody else, I'd kill her mother. I placed at the bottom: 'The more people you get involved, the more people will die. And it will be all. your. fault. This time I didn't even bother to put my name. I limped to the hospital and handed the letter to a nurse, telling her to give it to the young girl 'over there,' and I jabbed my finger in Gabriella's direction. Then I quickly scurried off before the nurse could ask anymore questions.

She smiled but didn't reply. Gabriella read the note and sighed, but nodded.

Mason raised his eyebrows and looked at her quizically. He frowned and reached out his hand to take a look at the note, subconsciencely aware of the cautious glances he was receiving from the people around him.

I grumbled slightly as I made my way away from the hopsital. I stretched my bad leg and sighed. "If she doesn't comply with that, I'm afraid I'm at a dead-end." I spat, knowing Mason would get in the way no matter what I did. He'd gladly die for Gabriella, that much I knew. Which, unfortunately, would get in the way a whole lot.

"Mason, I will give him anything except my life. But you have gotta stay out of it. Promise?" She asked and looked at the note. "I don't want your heart sent to me in a silver wrapped package. Metaphorically, like you say like a love heart, that I wouldn't mind, but the thing that pumps your blood? Nuh uh."

(Me to.)

Mason dropped his hand slightly and frowned. "He won't bother you anymore, Gabriella. And I'm going to be involved. I need to get my revenge as much as you do." He said, clasping his hands with hers. "I'm not going to abandon you."

[Harley]

"You aren't going to get revenge if you're dead!" She said, hushing him. "The worst he can do is rape me. I won't let him kill me."

[Guest]

Mason's face hardened. "And he's not going to do that, either, if I can help it!" He jerked Gabriella closer to him. "Listen to me, I don't care what that God-damned sick bastard says, all right? He's not going to lay one of his grimy fingers on you again or I'll rip his heart out with my bare hands, got it?" He sighed and looked away. "I'm not going to let him hurt you."
