(I liked your other picture better lol)
Julianstood in the darkness, feeling it all around her. As Eric shuffled about in it, she closed her eyes and waited. A small light cast a shadow across her face and she slowly opened her eyes, laying them on an old oil lamp. The sight of it warmed her heart. As Eric put down an old blanket, she carassed the oil lamp and brought it closer to her. She felt the wool of the blanket beneath her free hand and she sighed contently.
It brought back one of her most cherished memories from her childhood back in Japan.
Her mother and father had brought them to Japan from Asia after a tribal dispute and they were settling into their new home. Julian sat next to her older sister and both their parents were on eithert side. They were sitting a wolly blanket with plates of rice a two oil lamps were lit around them to keep them warm. They were a family then.
"No worries." she whispered to Eric with her eyes still shut, a look of pure tranquility upon her cherubic face.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
(What? Sorry, I'm not following... xD)
Eric's heart seemed to give a small pang of relief as he saw that Julian had seemed to calm down a bit, running her slender fingers over the thick soft blanket underfoot. Eric lowered himself down to the blanket, as thunder roared overhead, still loud despite the closed cellar door. The lamp oil flickered softly, its small bright flame dancing in place, growing tall, then shrinking as he watched it. Resting a hand on an upraised knee, he just then realized what had all happened today.
There was a girl- A girl, in his house. A beautiful girl, in his house. And he was responsable for her well being. Knowing that now he was responsable from more than just himself, and the animals, made him have a small sense of manly pride, knowing that she needed a man to look after her.
Perhaps it was stupid that he was thinking this way, but it was different for him.

(your old profile pic lol)
Slowly, julian opened her eyes and glanced about her with a small smile on her thin lips. The cellar was illuminated by the small flame that threw dancing shadows up on the walls. Like Eric, her eyes were lost in a trance as she watched them. With her being younger, less mature, the dancing shadows seemed to form into whatever her immagination cooked up. In the flames she saw horses running freely through the grassy plain and wild wolves on the hunt.
Drawing the scene to a close, the small girl looked up at Eric and smiled at him. The flames danced in her eyes as she looked over his face and though of words to say to him as they sat in silence in the storm. "Thank you." was all she could muster up at the moment. A few chills ran down her spin from the light draft in the cellar and she drew up her knees, wrapping her thin arms around them and resting her chin.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
Julian's light voice broke the heavy silence, making Eric raise his head, face taught. He gave a nod, and a slight smile, before he tilted his head to one side, studying her intently, but in a friendly way. As he opened his mouth to speak, a powerful boom of thunder drowned his voice, and he winced, before it was followed by a sharp crack of lightening, that illuminated the room upstairs, the light filtering through the crack under the door. "Sorry..."

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
The frightened girl let out a shreik and bounced about a foot in the air. She scampered backwards against Eric and snuggled against his side in fear.
Julian held her legs close to her as she tried to block out the horrible storm brewing above her. She felt the human warmth of the boy whom she leaned agaisnt for support and heard his lively breathing. that comforted her and she knew she would be okay. "For?" she asked, responding to his apology/

Eric winced as Julian cried out, before she scampered over the blanket and clutched at his side, her brown eyes wide and frightened. He gave an apologetic smile, and patted her hand awkwardly. Another loud roar of thunder made him look above, now getting worried. Wondering if he should venture upstairs to get the weather radio, he thought better of it as a harsh bolt of lightning lit up the kitchen upstairs. Feeling a slight shift of the figure by his side, he let a gentle smile touch his lips as she leaned against him, looking for comfort. "Sorry... That you're stuck here in this storm, with a stranger."

Julian half laughed, "It okay."
Hearing the thunder above made her worry about her horse, May. "Are the horses okay?" she asked as she started to stand. Where she was going to go, she did not know, but standing felt right at the moment. Storms made her nervous and antsy.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
The young man couldn't help but smile at the girls broken english, as in a way it suited her perfectly. He closed his eyes for a minute, before turning back to Julian as she spoke, asking about her horse. "You're mare is in a warm stall, bedded and with food and water. She should be just fine." He gave her a comeforting smile, hoping that soon, the storm would subside and they would be able to return to their rooms. He hoped she could fall asleep, even if it was down here. The blanket was soft beneith them, but he didn't have another to keep her warm. His smile slightly faded, and he raised his head, his honey brown hair falling slightly into his warm brown eyes. The male was very curious about this new girl, and why she had been out in the raging storm in the first place. Still, he didn't want to ask and offend her, so kept himself quiet, figuring she would tell him if she wanted to. "I hope you'll be alright down here." He gave her a smile once again, though the girl was still clutching at his arm. Patting her hand in a friendly manner, his lucid eyes turned back to the small oil lamp that was flickering and casting gentle shadows over the cellar walls.

Julian nodded her head understandlingly, "Good. May be safe."
With that said, she sighed and shuddered against the loud thunder. All her life she was afraid of the thunder, but as a young child her pa was there to keep her safe. Remembering her pa was gone, Julian slowly got down on her side and rested her head across his lap, letting go of his arm.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
Eric was surprised at the young woman's display of trust, as she lay her head across his lap. He wondered who was missing her, where she had come from. It was obvious that she couldn't stay here for too long, as he would never trust his father with a girl in the house. Never. He was her protecter, at least for the time being. Until she decided to go home, she would be safe here; Eric would be sure of it. Even if it meant keeping his father away until she left. His hands pressed into the blanket on either side of him, the thunder eventually starting to die down. If she fell asleep, he would need to carry her upstairs.

"Its over?" Julian asked as she lifted her heavy head and rubbed her sleepy eyes. Thankful, she stood up and swayed a mome t before waiting for Eric to get up and guide her back up the dark stairs to her room.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
Minutes ticked by, the small lantern casting shadows onto the walls. They loomed up, dancing and flickering, and Eric let his imagination wander. Thinking about all that was to come, he sighed heavily- and without really meaning to. Thunder was soft in the distance, but the storm was no longer roaring right above them. Julian stirred softly, bringing Eric back to the present. "Yeah. It's over." Giving her a gentle smile, the two of them began to get up and off of the blanket. When the girl stood, she swayed slightly- and Eric reached out to steady her, his fingers resting on her forearm. "Careful." Bending down, he grabbed the lantern and started to show her towards the stairs, positioned gently behind her and starting to guide her up to the kitchen.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
Julian mounted the stairs slowly. When she was in the kitchen she glanced out the window before following her memory back to her room. Without looking at Eric, she whispered a good night and then slipped silently into her room. She shut the door behind her and climbing into bed. Snuggling back against her pillow, she pulled the covers up and quickly fell into a deep dreamless sleep.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
Bidding goodnight to Juliana, Eric stayed in the hallway until her bedroom door gently clicked shut. He heard her moving around inside, before it grew silent and he knew she had crawled into the bed. Weariness came over him, threatening to take a sense of energy away from the young man. He staggered back to his room, immedietly slumping into his bed and drawing the covers over himself. Within a few minutes, he had fallen asleep. Eric's dreams were wracked with nightmares, but at least the front door was locked.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
The sweet smell of horse feed and tack cleaner mingled in Julian's nose as she stood in the doorway to the barn. It had taken her a while to actually get to the wooden structure since she had to creep through the house and not wake up Eric. Once she made it out of the house, she had to pick her way across the yard. Last night's storm had taken tree branches and debris and tossed them across the yard like a young boy dumping out his tinker toys.
"May?" the young girl called as she glanced behind her and the shut the heavy door. She was greeted with a whinny that came from around the corner. "Oh May!" she beamed as she ran around the corner and saw her mare's head sticking out over the stall door. She also saw another horse poke its head out. "Hey you." she whispered as she reached up to stroke its nose. Turning back to May, Julian let herself into the mare's stall and began to talk softly to her about the storm and Eric as she patted her down.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep
Once again, greeted by the wonderous sound of the alarmclock, chirping its way into his finally peaceful sleep and shattering any tranquility he could have possibly been mending in his heart. At the piping of the electronic device, Eric shot up in bed, his head a mess, clothing ruffled. Throwing the quilt over the side, he swung his legs over the side of the bed; very careful not to step on anything that might have been lying in wait to snag a toe or poke his heel, making him fall over and yelping like a dog.
At any rate, he safetly made it out of bed, if only to smash his fist into the alarm clock, forever silencing it and shattering the scree that would usually hold the blood red numbers of 5:45 am. The wretched numbers that marked just another morning, just another glorious day of the same old same old. Giving a halfhearted, pitiful sigh, Eric stumbled to his closet, pulled off his shirt, stretched, then slipped into another one. He didn't bother taking a shower, there was too much dirty work to be done.
Only when he had been about to trample down the stairs did he stop, suddenly realizing he had a visitor in the house. Pausing for a moment, he cursed himself for being so loud, and quietly crept to the door of Julians room. Giving it a very tentative knock as so not to wake her if she was sleeping, he twisted the handle and slowly pushed open the door. She wasn't in there, which made his heart jump for a moment. Had she already left? The only way she could leave was the way she had came, either by his truck or by her horse.
Wheeling around, he tripped down the tall flight of stairs and quickly exited the house, jogging out to the barn and throwing the doors wide open.

Re: A Farm Girl With Big Dreams. (Needing a boy)
The sound of the barn doors swinging open scared the living hell out of Julian. To her, it sounded like when her sister would throw open pantry doors exclaiming there was no food so they would have to sell May to get money. Other times, she would bang a spoon in her door and threaten to beat her with it if she did not take care of her niece. Julian had to stop her shriek from escaping by clamping her hand over her mouth. Then she remembered she was in Eric's barn, not her old home.
May snorted and shuffled forward to toss her head over the stall door and nicker at something moving down the hall. The other horse was out and eager to see too. May lay her ears back and nip at the cheek of the horse to tried to nip back. "Stop!" Julian whispered harshly as she tried to tug her chestnut mare back into the stall.
