As we walked into the restraunt and finally got a table I said sliping into my seat. "Well my sister is a lot like that with my dad but they don't talk they refuse to actully. My dad say's some mean thing's about her and her boyfreind. I try to call her when I can." I sigh looking at the minue. "After my mother died he has been difrent since, just more mean that's all." I add quietly. "So any way does your mother and father live on a race farm or share the family farm with your grandfather?" I asked-

"Well racing in the Triple Corwn is harder than it sound's, not only do you have to race in races that you must to be elagable in the Triple Crown but you have to pay fee's all through the year even if your horse end's up beeing nocked off the list for the Triple Crown. Evrey year when a horse is a yearling you must send in entres for the Kentucky Derby, the list in the begining is about 300 from 200 horses long. And in the end there is about only 20 or a little more or less that make it to the Derby." I said. "And that's just the Derby." I smiled a little. "It take's lost's of maoney and time and luck if not just luck to race in the Derby and it's hard on most horses beacause it's a mile and a quarter long. Most people don't see why the Derby is so hard. It ask three year old's in the middle or the beagining of there three-year-old season to race more than a mile. Horses who turn three don't even run a mile untill just before the Derby." I looked down at my hand's. "And filly's don't win it much beacuse they are not trained like male horses and they are more gentle handled you really cant make a filly a super horse just beacuse other's can't it's not beacuse they can't but beacuse they don't." I said. "The Triple Crown has almost ben ran for 150 byear's but in a 150 year's only three mare's have ben able to win the Derby, and only 11 horse have won all three races." I thought about somthing ell's "Have you ever considerd racing your filly's in the Teara Triple Crown, it's only for femal horses but all the races are ran in New York?" I asked

" yes im very aware of all of that but the funny thing is i have been saving for it since i was three. its just my dream to win the triple crown even if its not on my horses and not really i havent thought about that but now that i know i would really like to look inot it" i say with a smile. i look at ray and say " i know this is a long shot but do you think its possible if i help train the horses your father wants to run in the triple crown maybe ride them" i blush and sheepishly laugh

"Well I don't know about training but riding I'm not sure of that eather, I think it's posable for you to ride Funny Feet in the Kentucky Derby since he goes better for you and I think he just might go that far. But I'm not sure, my father is very picky with who ride's his horses in the Triple Crown, even I may not ride Strom Stride in the Kentucky Derby he may have Jeff or Andrew there his best jockey's Jeff is a vetarin jockey and Andrew is well let's say not new to racing he has been around. But Ronny train's them I don't know about the jockey part but you might ride Hummingbird Dancer? I think Ronny like's it when you ride the younger femal horses but he like's you on Funny Feet to he will probably ask you to ride Funny Feet in his first race since you have exsperianc with young horses. I ride the three-year-old's in long races and Jeff ride's the younger horses you will meet him later I think? He will probably ride Magic Arrow." I said. "But to be more clear I'm sure you will be riding Funny Feet in his first season then his three-year-old season, unless my dad makes Jeff ride him in the Triple Crown seares, Magic Arrow is probably gonna turn out a handicap horse." I said. After we got our food set in fron of us I said "I think War Queen is a nice filly though she look's to be a good distance horse." I said-

"Well two year old femal is voted by sertan people, there are three horses or four who are left for the Eclip's award's she may get it but she has raced once, but if she can win with great paformance then she could probably do it. We want Gaurded Secret to get older-male but he has a shaky season this year he is our oldest race horse." I ate some of my food "But what really throw's people off in this bussnies is handicaping, you have to win and loos a sertan amount of races to be handicaped but there are many horses who are. I hate it when a horse is handicaped by to much but the handicaper's study reall good before asining weight's." I said. "How long has it been since you where at home?"

" the very last time I was home was maybe three or four months ago. I've been riding for and training with many trainers because I'm working on jockey of the year but its a tough game this year" I say was a smile." Knowing war queen she will get it. She's just that type of horse. My grandfather said when she would retired people would pay to have there stallions bred to her" I say with a laugh " I also haven't been home because my mom I know she means well but she said I must come home with a boyfriend so when I go back I got to make sure my mother isn't there

"Well some owner's do have a system where owner's send in mare's pedagree's but they turn most away, it's so there is not to much inbreeding." I said. "We do that but not with Hummingbird Knight. I think War Qeen and Hummingbird Knight would have a nice foal." I smiled "You could name it Hummingbird Queen or War Knight." I paused. "So are you going to get your family's farm in the futer or is another family member going to get it. I think you would be the kind to end up getting your own farm, I want my own. My father want's me to have it of course."

"Take over River Bend Stud's I guess. I never really wanted to be a farm owner. I wanted to have a horse to race all around that my father owned. Ronny call's it a world tour." I laugh a little. "But I can't find that once in a life time horse to win evrey race all around, and life is not like Holly Wood. My dad use to tell me that "We should not try to live another person's life just beacuse it's more dramatic." I say trying to copy his vioce. "And a family probably is not such a bad idea. I just think I should start one after I get use to running River Bend Stud's and learn how it all work's. I study blood line's, farm manigement and other thing's with my father." I said. " finding the perfect horse that could never lose would be a dream come true. My grandfather almost had a horse like that his name was silent raven. He was a 18hh jet black beauty with a white star and blue eyes. He won races in europe australia and south america but he lost in rome by a head so my grandfather retired him to stud he's like 12 now" I smile remenising about when I was little" your father is a very wise man. So your not interested in finding so to say that girl that just takes your breathe away. I know its going to sound silly and I may not look like it but I love watching people in the racing world fall inlove with some else rather then a horse" I smile and laugh " my grandfather was just like you when he first got white brooke but a story ill never forget is when he was dating my grandmother, they were both jockeys believe it or not and she started riding for him when he bought the place. She said he was getting all rapd up in his work that one day she went down to his office and say this to him" I cleard my throat and started to use my sourthern accent " now look here you horse crazy son of a gun you either take me now or lose me forever" I blush at my accent but finish " and that day they got engaged my grandpap said he knew as soon as she took control she was the one for him"

"Rome I bealive has a strict way to there racing only a few month's of races and then end's untill the next year. It is strannge a horse that lived who's name was Kincsem or Hungarian for "Precious" born in 1874 and died in 1887 was the most successful Thoroughbred race horse ever, having won 54 races for 54 starts. Foaled in Tápiószentmárton, Hungary in 1874, she was or is a national icon, and is revered in other parts of the world, too. Over four seasons she won all her races against both female and male company at various race tracks across Europe, a record that's still unbeaten. That's what Silent Raven remind's me of. Is he still alive?" I asked. "If he was he must be in his late 20's or erely 30's right?" I asked-

" yes he is. He's 26 or 27 now and still one of the top studs on the farm. He was the first horse I ever rode and took my trial ride on him when I went to become a jockey. I plan to breed all of the lights to him. My grandfather believes in saving semon samples from all of our studs so if they past they can still be bred and their genes can be pasted on." "actully lot's of femal jockey's become vet's or stay exsersice rider's after they retier or just take up normal job's. I know there are specal farm's called lab/stables. Clowning is not popular in racing or I don't think I ever heard of it happing in race horse breeding. I don't beleave in it. DNA samples is somthing I have not heard of before." I said. "A man that owned a ranch in Texas raced a horse named XwhyZ in the tirple crown there where three horses with the same sire but difrent dam's but they looked the same." I said. "The jockey club took his ownership license away and he was banned from racing but they still tok intrest in his work." I tried to remember the name of the horse that won the races that year. "I'm not sure if it is all true if it is I'm short on emaganation. How long did you go to school or are you still practicing?" I asked. "DNA testing is somthing you must take time with?" I asked.
