My brow furrowed, well I have ridden many stakes winner's mostly from our farm we almost got the Triple Crown but came third in the Belmont a race my father has alway's wanted to win." I scuffed my feet on the floor, "Well is the arm better? I wanted to show you somthing." I said getting up.

" yah its fine what did you want to show me" I ask as I get up and follow him to where evr he was taking me

I lead her into the loffice and pointed at the wall cover din photos and the trophies sat on the shelves this is like a memorial for all our winner's and races we have won." I pointed at a large gray with a jug head "That's Gray Temper he was by Gray Slew who was by Seatle Slew. He won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakniss but lost the belmont due to a stone that was pounded into his foot so he had to reatired he broke down at the finsh and refused to come to a hult untill after he passed under the wire he came dead last." I pointed at a handsome chestnut Party Shoe's sire The Party Has Just begun. "Like Party Shoe's he was a famouse handicap champion winning twenty out of his twenty three start's he mostly carryed wieght ove 130 pound's and more he wond the Handicap Triple crown Seares." I pointed at a small bay and that is Funny Feet's dam's sire he was a very badly breed horse but he won the Derby and the Preakniss but sufferd from a pulled tenden and had to be scartched before the Belmont. We have never won the Triple Crown." I turned to see my grand father's picture "And this is my grandfather and Hollow Swallow funny name but he was sired by Gray Temper we sold him to a stud farm for $5,000,000. He wond the Florida Derby." I said. "But that was even befor I was born most of this happend before me any way."

I look in aw around the room mentally identifing every horse that I saw its picture. I walk around and smile as I look at the pictures and trophies . I look over at ray knowing I looked like a little kid in a candy store " this is amazing" I exclaim. " its weird though it seems like the years your family did compete in the triple crown my family did. Like we've won the kentucky derby and the preakness too but the belmont always threw some of our horses threw a loop. But my goal is no matter who I ride for is to be the first female jockey to win the triple crown" I say with determination in my voice and sparks in my blue green eyes

"Well maybe you will it has not been done no horse has won the U.S. Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978." I said. "Maybe we have the next one to win it but traning, health, mood's that also takes afect in a race horse." I said.

" I'm very aware of that and that's way I don't think its smart to always push horses beyond what they czan give during the triple crown races" I say as I look at him square in the eyes and smile

"We dont push our horses passt there limit's we ask theme to give us what they can if they can do that." I said. "We have a top trnaing facility hear the only thing we have problem's with his Deep Silence and litter thrown from passing car's." I said-

I smile " good because some trainers and owners I've ridden for tryd to make me use whips and tecnics (sp?) That I don't use and I just refused to ride over even when I can tell the horse just doesn't want to run I won't make it run" I say

"Some horse don't mind a whip the whip's are made these day's not to hurt just a touch can tell a hors eit';s time to move. Some horses wait for that. Jockey's even try to tap a horse in places where it wont hurt as much." I said. "A race horse can't have controll over you your boss not him or her." I was taught a lot that way-

" I was taught that out there on the track you and the horse become one. There is no jockey and horse or horse and jockey its just you as one with the horse. That's why I never have to use a whip the horse feels that him there to win and they want to please me as much as I want to please them. I no it sounds weird but that is what I stand by" I say holding my ground not sure as to what he would say back

"You can be one with the horse but you must also be aware of thing's going on around you horses have fealing's just like us but they also have flaw's a cork's like us to. Some are smart and can make there on wat through other's have no brain's at all." I said-

I bite my tongue and sigh " I'm going to a ride" I say as I head out the house to go tack up warrior so he could streatch his legs 'ill just lead the two girls on lead rodes I think to myself

I went out side to tack a pony horse up to watch the rest of the horses on the track Billy's show galloped by and I waved to our trainer I thought abou asking maria if she wanted to help with Deep Silence?

Soon I come out of the barn leading my three horses. I stop by a fence and mount warrior bear back. All of the lights and war queen had their halters on but no leads but I had them with me just incase. " come on girls let's go for a ride" I say as I put warrior into a trot and the teo fillies follow after his moves

I followed a bay colt into the cooling area and talked with groom's for a while Funny Feet pocked his head out of his back stall door of the barn and I walked over to patt his neck. "Where's Maria?" I asked Samy "She went to ride her fillies and colt she might be back."

As samy answers ray, they hear a thundering of hooves and see me and my three horses galloping. Up towards the barn. It looked like the two fillies had lead ropes on by the way they stayd right with me but they didn't. I had a hug smile on my face and I looked way more relaxed since I had been out ride. I slow all three horses to a nice trot as we head into the stable yard

Samy smiled at the fillies "Well Maria look's like they need a rest for a while I will put theme up if you want I think ray want's to ask you about that yearling?" I stood giving Samy a look but he walked by smiling. "Um do you want to help me with Deep Silence?"

I smile at samy as I dismount warrior " thanks that would be really helpful" I say as I watch the two fillies follow him. I turn to ray " id like that a lot" I say with a smile as I lead warrior off for a bath

(hour later)
The yearling barn was quiet but Deep Silence kicked about his stall his eye's bright and tossing his main-I stood out side his stall "We just need to get his halter on and lead him out to the arena." I said to Maria-

I watched the colt for a while then said " can I try a different method my grandfather taught me" while keeping my eyes on the colt

"Sure." I said waiting "Just be carfule." I said watching the colt-

I go into his stall but stay by the door with the halter behind me. I watch his movements " no ones going to hurt you" I say softly as a few minutes pass I start to sing the song all the pretty little ponies in a softly voice that sounded like a wonderous lullaby

The colt pricked his ear's but backed into his stall "We have to corner him to get the halter on and even when we handle him nice and easy he still fight's." I said watching.

I continue to sing and pull out several pepermints and not moving closer to him letting him no it was his choice only if he was going to be nice.

The colt eyed the perperment's and moved a little his gaze steady as he tried to get the peperment's not wanting to be touched. He stretched his head out ear's pricked-
