Durnal sighed and looked at Lichen with a soft gaze, "I can tell something is bothering you Lichen. I can see it in your eyes."

I bared my teeth, my ears laced back in annoyance,"I'm Fine!" I growled.

Lilly's ears pricked as Lichen yelled, she limped out of the den. She limped over and butted Lichen softly in the side, "Show a bit of respect, Lichen. He's just a bit concerned." Lilly said softly. "Durnal allowed you to stay here. You cooperated with Blaze. Why not Durnal?"

Durnal sighed and turned away, leaping up onto High Rock again.

My eyes softened as I saw Lilly. I trotted over to her, standing beside her, to give her some balance if she needed it. When she said I should get along with Durnal, my eyes hardened again. "Look! I made up with Blaze, thats enough for now!" I replied gruffly.

Lilly stepped back from Lichen's tone, blinking softly. "I asked you to show some respect! I didn't say you needed to get along with him!" Lilly snapped. She wasn't angry. She was a bit hurt. Lilly limped back into her den, and laid down, facing the wall.

Durnal looked down at Lichen. "Just give her some time to cool off. She's done the exact same thing to me a few times."

I growled, and turned away from both of them. I trotted back into the forest, not looking back.

Blaze awoke from his sleep and gently moved from Juliet, following Lichen. "Are you okay Lichen?" Blaze asked, stopping beside him.

I stopped, and sat. The cool forest air around me, helped me to calm myself. My head whipped to Blaze, and my lip instinctively curled into a sneer. "Hey..." I said, shaking my head to rid the old thoughts of Blaze.

Juliet
I whimpered, and curled into a ball.

Blaze sighed and sat down, lowering his head to the ground. "Is everything alright? You look a bit tense."

I sighed," I really am fine, I just need some time to figure things out..."

Blaze nodded, understanding what he meant. "I wasn't accepted by the pack right away when I found Durnal. They didn't like it when I was named the Beta either."

I looked at him surprised, then I chuckled and shook my head. "No... No.. No... That's not really what I meant, I don't care what other people think about me... I'm just not used to not being Alpha..."

Blaze nodded, "I get that. Juliet felt the same way when she came to the pack."

Lichen nodded, and pricked his ears at Blaze's next sentence,"Really? But she seems so suited?"

"Juliet wasn't used to being on another Alpha's territory, and thought Durnal was challenging her dominance."

My eyes grew wide," Wow! Really, she's always been so well, suited. To.. To everything!!"

"Yeah, but Juliet has grown to the fact that she belongs to a pack, and doesn't run one." Blaze told him, chuckling softly.

Lichen nodded," Yeah, she can adapt..." He looked down slowly though," I don't think I can..."

Blaze nudged him, "You've only been here a couple months. It took me time to take responsibility to be a Beta, because I always knew myself as a carefree lone wolf." Blaze told him.

"Yes, but I've always been an alpha, even as a pup. Everyone, listened and respected me. Everyone except my dad, but I didn't need to worry about him for long..." I said, a sickly sheen shining in my eyes, and a evil grin spreading on my maw.

"Yes, Durnal was chosen to be future Alpha as a young pup. He was respected, and the biggest and strongest out of all pups. Everyone except for my mother. She abused him even as a newborn. But an Elder named Loki, also Durnal's mentor had killed her not long after Talon died. Durnal left to create his own pack when he was 6 months, but lived as a lone wolf for years."

I nodded,"I meant Juliet was I was young, and she almost killed me. But, something stopped her, and everything just took off from there. Everyone liked what was happening, everyone but my father. So I dispatched him!" I said with a growl, and snapped my jaws closed loudly.

Blaze sighed, "Killing isn't the answer unless someone truly deserves it. My mother, whom was named Jamie, did deserve to be killed. She hated Durnal. Nobody knew why, she just did." Blaze told him.

I looked over at him, my eyes dark,"He deserved it. Oh!!! He deserved it!!! That's the only reason Juliet never had pups..."
