Adella - The Wandering Mare [PG-13]
Name: Adella
Age: 6
Gender: Mare
Breed: Andalusian
Looks: Adella's head is a dark, bold dapple grey, aside from her black muzzle, her body is the same color as her head. Her legs from the knee/hock down are black, along with her mane and tail. Her right eye is dark brown, but her left eye is cloudy-white and pupil less. Adella stands at the average size for an Andalusian of 16.1hh. Adella has an elegant and compact build with well defined, but not bulky muscles. While she is not as fast as hot-blooded horses, Adella is far more agile and graceful than most, with the ability to stop and turn on a dime so fast it would put a polo pony to shame, thanks to her high set neck.
Height: 16.1hh
Personality: Adella is a fiercely stubborn and opininated mare. She is alway very laid back and calm, but has a dangerous temper if pushed far enough. Adella is a bit of loner and likes to wonder off. Her mother taught her at a young age how to take care of and protect herself, so she has no problem living on her own dispite not being able to see her left side. Since her only experience with stallions, other than her father and brothers, was Keir and his sons she is wary and distrustful of stallions.
History: Adella was the one of the many foals sired by the great stallion Tyrone. Tyrone was a powerful buckskin Andalusian that ruled over the land of Adar for many years. Adella's mother was Tyrone's favorite mare, Beatrix. Adella was Beatrix's only daughter and her parents loved her despite her one flaw, a blind left eye. Beatrix had the potential to be the lead mare, but had a habit of wondering off for days or even weeks at a time. Tyrone allowed this, because she never strayed too far from the territory and he trusted she would always come back. Adella followed in her mother's footsteps and was more of a loner, preferring to explore the land by herself rather than play with the other foals. Since her father was the King, Adella was allowed to go into the other stallions' lands. The stallion and their colts were smart enough not to mess with the King's daughter, especially Beatrix's daughter. The mare was infamous for her fierce and violent temper that scared even Tyrone and could make a pack of rabid wolves run off yelping with their tails between their legs.
The only place where Adella was not allowed to go was Keir's land. Keir was a power-hungry stallion and Tyrone's only rival. He had been after Beatrix for a while until he got a taste of her temper when he injured her six month old colt. Tyrone knew if he saw Adella, Keir would relentlessly try to capture his docile daughter. Unfortunately, when Adella was two years old her curiosity drove her to disobey her parent's orders and she went into Keir's land. The stallion saw her and immediately knew who she was. Keir chased her back into her father's land where Tyrone fought him off. Keir tried many more times after that to steal Adella, but was also chased away by Tyrone or lost the swift and agile filly in the thick rainforest where they lived.
When Adella was four years old Keir showed up and screamed a challenge to her father, but this time was not like the others. This time Keir was challenging her father for the position of King. Adella knew her father would not win. Tyrone had ruled Adar since he was a colt, but he was no longer in his prime while Keir was at his peak. Tyrone was a proud stallion, too proud to simply be defeated, so Keir killed him. Adella tried to run away, but was caught by a group of Keir's sons. Beatrix came to Adella's rescue and distracted the stallions so her only daughter could escape. Beatrix was also killed. Adella ran all day and all night without resting, fear driving her forward. She could still hear the angry and pained screams of her mother being killed by Keir's merciless sons ringing in her ears. When she finally stopped, Adella was nowhere near her home land. Since then she has been wondering from place to place trying to find a home, but fear of strange stallions always pushing her on. Every once in a while, Adella makes an attempt to join a herd, but she always runs away, because the stallions won’t give her the freedom her requires or is driven away, because of her eye.
