Sheena glided down the hillside, leading her herd straight into the meadow. Her long creamy white tail streamed behind her. Mares and foals followed after her, and Arctic brought up the lead. She stopped in front of a large watering hole in the large, luscious meadow and flicked her tail gently, grazing among the grass.
She lifted her beautiful regal head here and there to check over the herd. Sheena went to stand over beside her good friend, Lacy. Lacy was one of the older mares she could always count on. Sheena smiled and bent her head down to graze beside her friend, Lacy.

Flight, the blood bay mare's elagente body moved with rythem And grace. Her long legs moving in turn carrying her across the land her dainty head looking forward as her black mane flew backwards the bleaked out brown looking tips dancing with the wind. When the herd stopped And spred out Flight ran up And got a sip of fresh water before troting over to a patch of grass eating, water dripping off as she moved. The as of most of the others was starting their heat. Spotting a dandelion she chewed on the sweat tangy flavore.

Fury cantered down the gentle slope behind the lead stallion, Arctic. His hooves crushed the delicate stems of green as he flew towards he stream in the meadow. He came to a sliding halt at the bank. The beta stallion lowered his finely shaped Arabian head to the rushing water and sipped slowly, savoring the cold liquidiness. He looked up from the stream and surveyed the herd. It was his duty to help Arctic protect the herd and to prevent inbreeding. Fury back away from the water and wove his way to the edge of the group, nodding to the other horses respectfully as he passed.

Arctic's eyes lit up at the meadow. He nuzzled his mate, and trotted ahead. Arctic could be a butt sometimes, charging a random horse just for the fun of it. And today, his target was Flight. He reared, slim legs hitting the air. He charged her, nearly hitting her as he side skidded to stop. He nipped her forelock playfully, and walked calmly back to Sheena.

"Dandelion?" He asked, ripping long one out of the ground and holding it out to her. His long tail swished, sending the few flies away from his back. He laid it on her back, and jumped into the stream without waiting for her answer. It wasn't deep enough for him, it went past the top of his hooves, but it didn't rid the mud out of his coat.

Belle's silky white coat was slightly ruffled in the beautiful breeze and the main feature on a arabian horse was there dished face, this was a smooth round curve carved into her face. Her tail stuck out vertically as the long, straggly hairs fell straight she lowered her head to graze under the shadowed curtains of a creamy/pale green willow tree. Belle clenched her teeth with nervousness(SP?) as her heat scent escaped her, but realising she wa a brood mare she let it all out without a single care.

Sheena smiled gently at her mate, and looked at the beautiful dandelion on her back he had left. She watched as he charged at Flight. She rolled her eyes and sighed, feeling sorry for poor Flight.
She was one of the mares that wasn't in heat, luckily. She hated being in her heat, and just felt glad to not have to worry about it. She flicked her tail and grazed some more, then went to stand on the river banks to watch Arctic thrash in the creek.

"Love? Please, why do you always have to charge at everybody?" She questioned, knowing he loved to charge at other horses, it was just part of his personality.

Inreaturn Flight playfully reared up at him landing with a soft thud. She acepted the dandelion as he offered it And chew it before running after him, darting into the water frolicking with him. She splashed him with her hoof spraying some on his mate as she walked down, "Ops sorry Sheena." She said bowing her head and standing still in the cool crisp water watching the lead mare.

"Let them know I'm boss." He laughed, hopping out of the stream and ramming gently into Flight, purposely trying to knock her over. Even she did lose her balance, he wrapped his muscled neck around her back, pulling her up. "I'm not mean, am I Flight?"

Flight giggled at him he humored her quite well and made the boring-ish days better. "Well of course your not, just a bit silly in my opain, but best not to do that to a pregnant mare." She said turning her pretty head to look at his she nibbled on his fore lock before as if a sneak attack playfully buck and darted forward, "But um if you want to stay lead stallion you should be able to catch a run away mare such as me!" She playfully teased him galloping off at full speed but not going out of herd sight. Flight was on of the herd's fastest mares and could easily outrun most horses. The mare's lags moved quickly and she occasionally looked back to make sure he was fallowing. Adrenalin pumped through her and she veered left a little, her main flew backwards in the playful wind.

"I'm fast, but smarter!" He laughed, taking off after her and disappearing into the trees. He leaped out infront of her, cutting her off with a playful shove. The serious look returned to his eyes. "Go get some rest. you'll need it." he went back to his mate. "If we ever have our own foal, I can't wait to play with him or her."

Once he surprised her she listened to him and nodded nuzzling him before trotting over to a comfy looking patch of grass and falling asleep.

Fury laughed at the scene that Arctic was making and stood even more alert, he was on guard duty when the lead stallon was doing something. Mixed heat scents wafted towards and he inhaled deeply. He always enjoyed mating season, everyone did. Well, except for some mares.

(Does Artic only breed the lead mare?) Arctic nudged his mate, waiting for an answer. "Well?" He asked, stomping his hoof. His dark brown eyes ooked over her slim grey body, not in a gross kind of way, but a protective sort of way.

(No, he can breed with any mare in the herd.)

Sheena smiled and laughed as Arctic raced around with Flight. She chuckled at his comment on the foal and she nodded with a smile. She walked slowly over to the rest of the band and started rolling in the grass, her long legs kicking out in joy. She loved their new home, it was beautiful and peaceful.
She got up and picked among the grasses, waiting until night to appear, she was exhausted from their long run here.

Once the last of her heat was out, the lonely mare laid down under the curtains of leaves. Belle watched the rest of the mares and stallions frolic and waited for the sun to set, the smell floated around her, like if it wouldn't leave.

At night the mare awoke to the sound of a old owl and looked up,into the twinkling stars she slowly got up looking at the,others careful not to wake them. She looked to see the stallion who was taking turn watching the herd,had not fallen asleep she turned herhead back and walk advoding every one till she reachted the waters edge and sipped up some water the young mare raised her,head, droplets dribing off her chin to see her daughter and the other yearlings peacefully sleeping. This,year,once bred she'd have her sceant foal. The walked back to her spot and slept standing IP for the rest of the night.

Arctic approached Belle. He nudged her, trying not to breath in her scent. "You OK?" He asked, nibbling her shoulder. He lay next to her, laying his head on her back.

Fury smiled happily at the horses surrounding him and lowered his dished face to nibble on the blades of grass he had been stamping on before. The night was still and peaceful. A little too quiet for his liking, but he didn't detect anything around them.

(Should there be something? If so I kinda want Fury to notice it first because he is on duty.)

Belle smiled as he approached "Yeah, the night is beautiful...Don't you think?" She asked him, gazing up and letting the stars shine brightly. Bellle reched round and lay her head next to his shoulders.

Sheena awoke with a start, hearing some of the mares restless. She saw Fury standing on guard. She smiled, feeling relieved that everything was okay. Sheena quietly got up, so as not to awake anyone. She sensed something wrong, although nobody else was sensing it. She twitched at every noise, she stood on guard quietly, scared for something to happen. She flicked her tail and kept her pricked forward. She softly walked over to Fury, her hooves not making a sound as they touched the ground with every step.
"Fury? Is it just me, or do you sense something wrong coming? I just feel like something bad will come any second now." She said in a whisper, so as not to startle Fury or anyone else in the silent of the night.

Fury swiveled his head back at the sound of a voice to see Sheena quietly approaching him. "The night's a little too peaceful for my liking, but I don't want to wake everybody up unless I'm certain." He sniffed the air and caught the scent of something drifting from the bushes. A beam of moonlight shone on the leaves and...a black nose. Now the stallion could make out a few pairs of gleaming yellow eyes. "Wolves!" he hissed loudly enough to awaken the herd. Fury planted himself between the canines and the mares, ears flicking apprehensively(sp). A large brute slowly and stealthily crept out of it's hiding place now that they have been noticed. Smaller wolves followed him out, jaws snapping visciously at anything that moved.

Fire surrounded her in a big ring as she flustered around, the ring growing thicker and trapping her, the herd was on the outside "Wolves!" Yelled Fury.....
Belle immeadiatly lifted her head half asleep, not realizing anything through her dreamlike land she fell back on the floor again, her eyes half open and saliva leaking out of her mouth as her dream continued.

Flight didn't awake she was egusted from the day and staid in her deep dream.

Belle's nostrils flared and her head lifted up and stood over the peacefully sleeping Flight. As Belle stood guard her nostrils caught something from behind her and saw fangs flashing all around them, She curled up around Flight as she stood boldly over the sleeping form.
