Maybe you should get a Nigerian Dwarf then. They produce milk and are really tiny. I don't think the ywould be annoying to your grandma. I LOVE PIGS! Just not the smel.

They need a small pen, is all. And if you let them roam around during the day, if you have weeds or grass or stuff, they don't need much food. and if you have dogs that scare the coyotes away. DO NOT GET FAINTING GOATS IF YOU LIVE WHERE COYOTES DO!

Yea I know it seams easy to her but she'll be like "Ahh! Another animal. More work, blah blah blah think of the stupid money where wasting!" She's hard to get though to. She totality ruined me showing s pig for 4-h! So unfair.

I don't sell mine for this much but some goats sell for 1,00 a piece! I am buying a $500 goat in february.. I'm so excited!!

Harley you never told me about your goats. What breeds do you have? How many? Do you milk them, make any goat products etc.

My goats are worthless pygmys who do nothing but destroy. My dad refuses to fix the stupid pen, even though he complains abuot them breaking stuff.. He thinks it is to much work to throw them a flake of hay when he is feeding the horses.

Haha.. wow. I used to have pygmies. They had horns.. One female was kinda agressive, I had these goats when I was about 5 or 4 but I remember her always pinning me up against the fence with her horns, she was nastyy.
I like my nigis ALOT better though. Pygmys are cool too.
Chickens are easier to take care of, goats are more fun though, they have alot more personality, I have goats that I bottle feed and they follow me around like I'm their mother. So I prefer goats.. xD

Yeah, I have had mine for a while. I was really mean to them when I was little, so they are really flinchy and shy. The younger male is ok, but the mom refuses to be touched.

Also, which is better? Getting just the baby goat and bottle feeding it (what kind of milk do you feed it) yourself, or getting a mom and a baby and letting her do the work for you.

And, I hope you don't mind, but your 500 dollar goat just became my screensaver.

Getting the baby and bottle feeding it is SOO much fun and the baby will end up following you around like YOUR it's mother xD.

You can buy milk replacer at a local tractor supply for it but I like to milk the milk out of the mother and then feed it to the kids. It's ALOT more work but its fun and worth it.

When my dad was a kid he had goats and him and he's brother would head butt the male kid's but when they grew up my dad said one of them (Forget who) learned a lesson for that when one tried to do it when he was bent over or something. Lol Ouch bet it hurt huh?
